TAWoG- on my way

Pain was all the two kids could feel right now. Walking for miles as they followed a map towards the house Darwin stayed in. Gumball seemed thirsty while Anias was exhausted and in need of sleep. Both kids couldn't handle this long journey together and needed a place to stop and rest. But Gumball is too determined to find his missing brother and fix their friendship.

"Hey, Anias. The house. It's...it's up ahead. We're almost there. Just...hang in there." Gumball weakly said to his sister, who walked next to him. She seemed like she was about to give way and stop for a break. "Look. The house!" Gumball blurted out. Both kids happily ran towards the building, using up the rest of their breath to make it to the house.

Knocking loudly as they could to get the attention of the owners while they gasped for air from running. It felt like forever, but the door finally opened up without warning. Both parents expected their daughter and the adopted son to be right there. Instead, two young kids stood before them. They couldn't just slam the door on them and pretend they didn't exist.

"What! Where did you guys come from?" The father asked. Gumball watched as the mother ran off for no reason while the father welcomed them in. Both kids sat down, looking around the living room as both parents spoke quietly in the kitchen. Gumball couldn't make out any of the works, but her knew they were talking about them. For some odd reason, Gumball knew they would call the cops to file a missing report for him and his sister. But, he had to convince them why they were here. And that was gonna be tricky.

The father finally came back in, smiling. Anias didn't like that smile while Gumball was a bit convinced that they meant no harm. "Okay, kids." He finally spoke. "Where did you come from?" Gumball hesitated for a moment.

"We came from... Elmore... looking for my brother, Darwin Watterson. He was last seen here before disappearing once again." Both parents seemed convinced. Gumball was glad they finally agreed with how they looked at one another.

"So, you're the one who kicked your brother out of your life?" He spoke up. The sudden change in his tone gave off an odd vibe.

"Well, yeah. But I'm also here to make amends with my brother and being him home. That's why we're here, to restore our friendship, our mistakes we made. And I need help to find him and bring him back home." Gumball looked up at Father.

"And my daughter, Zoe." Both kids looked at one another. Zoe, who's Zoe? "Our daughter was last seen with him. Both kids disappeared later in the day." The sudden discomfort grew between both families. Did Darwin kidnap her? Did he run off with her just to be with her? Or were they both kidnapped.

"But before you decide to get involved with this investigation. We need to send you two home before you're put in danger. We can't have two kids found dead or missing, do we?" The mother spoke with both hands crossed.

"N-no...no I won't leave without finding my brother, my baby brother is out there in danger, missing and hurt. His feelings, his emotions spiraling out of control." To the parents, the kid seemed fine when he was living with them. But to Gumball, he hurt his own brother. Zoe's parents didn't know about the boys' past or what happened to him. All they knew is that the kid had run away from home.

"Please. I'm begging you. We need to find them. I need my brother back." Gumball pleaded with the adults. And finally, with a huff, the adults agreed.

"Fine. Now, where do we even begin? How will we find these two when they left no trail." The father spoke, giving Gumball a stare like never before.

"Um...well... we can look for clues. I really don't know, to be honest." He looked at his little sister for advice. She was smart enough to actually find a missing person.

"Well...who last saw them? And where were they?" She questioned. "Clues, they probably dropped something or left clues."

But who? Darwin never left clues. He has never even been kidnapped before and doesn't even know how to leave a trail to his captures. Zoe, she might have, but she was never even kidnapped before either. Anias looked around for clues. But nothing. Then, outside. The front yard was where they were last seen playing. She looked up towards the house to find cameras.

"You guys checked the cameras?" She asked. Both parents looked at each other. They never even thought about the cameras.

"No...we-" Gumball cut them off.

"You didn't even look at the footage! They were kidnapped. Why wasn't your first instinct to do it look at the footage and find out who the kidnappers were. That would lead us to find them and force them to talk." Anias stood up.

"Gumball, for once, I can't believe I'm going to say this. But you're a genius!" Both parents sat down, looking at one another as they smiled strangely. Under the table is a button to signal someone. Both kids didn't know that these two were working with whoever kidnapped the kids.

"So, what is the plan?" The father asked.

"Well, we need to somehow find out what they look like and go from there. But -" Anias was cut off loud as the sound echoed through the room, making the kids freak out while the parents sat waiting. Then, the windows crashed and shattered all over the floor. The door was swung open so hard that it left an indent on the wall.

"Wait... you're... working with them?" Gumball asked. He recgno the way they were dressed.

"We have to, just to get our little girl back. It's the only way...a trade." The father handed the money over to the men. "We need her to be safe. And our only hope was to, somehow, lure you here."

Gumball looked around to find a way out. But it was too late. Both him and his sister were kidnapped and dragged out into a care.
