A small window just a bit higher than the bed had a few metal bars to peek out of. Darwin, who sat down against the bed with his head leaning back where Zoe slept; looked up at the window to watch the night sky. He didn't know what to make of it, but the moon partly showed from all the clouds, leaving Darwin to just stare at what looked like a full moon.

Zoe stirred in her sleep, making Darwin move forward. He watched as she pulled the blanket up over her shoulders with her head facing the wall. At that moment, Darwin thought Zoe was asleep until she turned towards him. Her eyes were slightly wide open as she looked at Darwin with a small smile.

Darwin stood up with a smile on his face. At least the two kept their happyness while going through some of the toughest things in life. But soon, that happyness faded from Darwin as he felt a small tingle in his right hand. Backing up away from Zoe so Darwin could figure out what on the world was happening to him. He didn't want to hurt Zoe or anyone else trapped in this hell. A light glow startled Darwin but interested Zoe.

"W-what the!" Darwin was speechless.

Zoe came walking over, looking at him with no fear. "You know, they'll be coming back for me." She spoke, sliding down the side of the wall. "And they'll also do experiments on me too."

Darwin stood up, remembering what happened that day...or yesterday. He didn't know what to do. But his reaction to Zoe being put through all of that made him pissed. He backed up slowly, looking at the wall above Zoe as his hand twitched under his control. His anger took the best of him, and soon enough. He blasted the wall next to him, keeping anything from damaging Zoe or him.

Darwin fell from the pain in his hand. He looked up at Zoe, realizing that he could have hit her if he hadn't taken control. Soon, the guards came walking by to check on what had happened. But Darwin stepped in with his hands out. He wanted them to take him instead of Zoe. But they had their minds on something else. And seeing how Darwin had his hands out asking to be taken away made them think twice. But they shrugged it off and cuffed him.

Dragged all the way their was not good for Darwin's lags. He could feel splinters digging into his skin. But he didn't care. Once he made it inside the room, he was in the first day, finding out about Tobias. He watched the window from above him.

"Wow! I'm impressed, Darwin." Tobias spoke, "I was expecting Zoe, but you. This makes it so much better to watch you instead. But doing this twice isn't quite a good thing for your body." Darwin stiffened up. "People have died doing this more than once. Oh, so many different deaths. One guys head exploded once, taking in too much information."

Tobias lifted his hand with a devious smile before snapping his fingers. He enjoyed watching everyone's pain and hearing the screams of their agony as they cried out for help. And watching Darwin getting strapped in the chair he had designed and made but also killed and traumatized his enemies. But somehow, Tobias wasn't too enthralled with Darwin's screams.

Then silence.

Tobias's eyes widened at the sight of a nonliving old friend he had once talked to. He began to think over his decisions and plans. But he should have known that someone like him would not survive a machine like this. He snapped his fingers twice. Two men walked in fully dressed in body armer and a trash bag to take the dead body out in. But as soon as they unstrapped one of his buckles. His body came forward with his brown eyes staring at the men. He was alive and breathing somehow. Everyone in the room was shocked to see the first kid to survive from the deadly machine.

"Jeez kid! You really know how to pick up a fight like that with a machine that can actually kill you. I want his body back in that cell before we do more experiments on him an hour later." Grabbing his body and dragging him down to where Zoe was waiting for him to return. Darwin struggled to break free but failed.

His body fell to the floor weak at the front of the jail cell only to be thrown inside with a loud thud. Zoe leaned over but stopped before she touched him. His body had steam coming off him as if he was burning.. Zoe grabbed a bucket full of water and a rag. He placed the rag on his forehead as his breathing slowly died down, making Zoe nervous.

"Come one, Darwin. Hang in there!" She pleaded. Only a few cough and a small, weak voice saying he would survive. The sound of metal bars and a cup ecoed throughout the jail cells before stopping at Darwins cell. It was Tobias, and two guards smiled as he slowly opened the cell door and grabbed the small weakling. Placing Darwin down in a dark room with no lights in sight. He stood looking around to find any sight of a human walking. However, the lights flicked on, making Darwins hands block the beam as he tried to focus on the men who stood behind the glass. A speaker came on,

"Okay, Darwin, let's find out what you're capable of? I'll have to show you every trick in the book." Flicking on and off in his hand was fire. "You'll be learning all sorts of new stuff. So, let's start from the basics."

"And if I do okay. You won't touch or hurt Zoe or anyone else in those cells out there?" Darwin asked.

"I don't usually keep a promise, but if you do corporate with me and my team, then yes." Tobias said, throwing his hand down on a button. "Now, let's begin."
