Chapter Thirty-Nine: The Endgame of Eric Girbaud
Eric's POV
I finally arrived at the Deveraux Palace, the main residence of the Deveraux royal wolves who strive to give everyone equality.
That won't be happening when I finally slaughter those royals and begin my reign of terror where the weak are culled brutally and all who are not for me will be seen as my threats to be put down without mercy.
It was easy taking down that whore of a queen. The blackout provided me easy access to sneak inside the palace and then find her being under the "watchful" eye of her maid and guards. She didn't even stand a chance when I tore her heart out of her chest and eating it before I ripped her body to shreds.
That'll give me ample time for King Josiah and his brat Zechariah to gather whatever troops that are here on the palace grounds and hunt for me.
I'm not going to back down from a fight.
Once I kill off everyone here, I will make it known that I will be the ultimate ruler of all werewolves before signing an order to kill ALL loners, Omegas, and even the sane rogues- everyone who is weak. And if they refused to do what I say, I will end them all myself and all those who stand against me.
Then, I'll make my way to the kingdom of vampires located in Anchorage, the feline-shifter kingdom in Knoxville, the merfolks in Savannah, the fairies over in Chicago and Indianapolis, the witches in Maine- all kingdoms will be mine for the taking and everyone will either bow down to me as their ONLY deity...or fall under my rage.
Eric.
I growled low as I heard the voice of the annoying pest that continued to haunt in my dreams.
Eric.
"What the hell do you want," I snarled sotto-voce as I continued to evade the royal guards, using the shadows of the night to camoflauge myself as I hid in the royal gardens.
You know that you can't fight fate, Tauren's voice intoned. Cronus and Rhea are done giving you any more chances to repent. In slaughtering Queen Ember, you have chosen your endgame. And your ultimate desire that lies in your heart will come true.
"My wish is to rule the wolves and the supernatural with an iron fist," I snapped. "You and everyone else have taken away all that I wanted since I killed you. But I will claim what I rightfully deserve. All Omegas like you will burn and I will be the god of all supernatural."
Then you are doomed, the Omega replied, his voice solemn and full of seriousness. I have nothing but contempt and pity for you. You are beyond redemption as your pride will be your downfall, your life being forfeit by divine law.
Then he spoke no more.
Finally.
"There he is!" exclaimed one of the female guards! "Seize that bastard!"
Fuck it, folks! It's time to kill. I shifted into my black wolf and let out a huge animalistic roar before charging towards the group of guards. Bullets were fired, yet my body was immune to them while blood and bone began to fly around. Someone screamed for backup as I tore through flesh and tissue while devouring the bodies.
"Eric Girbaud!"
I whirled around to see King Josiah stand before me in his armor, a sword in his hand. Transforming back into my human form, I sneered at the older man. "Well, well," I spat, wiping my mouth clean of the blood that stained my lips. "You saw your wife's remains?"
"I did, Girbaud, and you took away the one person that I loved more than you could ever know in your arrogant mind. I'm going to make sure that you pay for your crimes."
"Ah, don't be so sad, Your Majesty," I replied sarcastically. "I'm doing this world a favor by getting rid of the useless and the weak. Power is only for the strong and the able-bodied. Once I get rid of you and your son alongside all the royal families of the supernatural, I'll be erasing all those puny runts and loners off this planet and will have the world at my feet. Everyone will either bow down to me or pay dearly for disobedience. If only Tauren Knox had ended his life beforehand...well, things will still be the same as I still see myself as a future ruler."
"This ends now," the king bellowed.
"Of course, sir. But first, I gotta get rid of you." Without another word, I raced towards him and slashed his throat before ripping out his heart and eating it. "Delicious!"
"FATHER!"
I laughed with malice as I saw a raging Prince Zechariah speed out of the castle and run towards me. "And now, it's down to one," I drawled as he finally stopped just steps away from me. "This is making my day even better. Sorry for killing your mommy and daddy, prince boy, but I can't have anyone try to take me down. I'm the ultimate endgame of all, Deveraux! But at least you can join that runt and all my victims in hell knowing that you all failed in overthrowing my power."
He stood silent, his hatred for me burning brighter than the sun. Feeling's mutual.
"Your silence tells me that you're ready to die," I said, my tone light and full of joy while I let my claws extend. "I'm going to have so much fun with this takeover. It just goes to show that all who aren't bold enough to stand against me will die. Any last words?"
"Yeah! Get the HELL away from him!"
BANG!
I let out a roar as a bullet tore through my body, the pain ten times worse than any other bullet as I knew that the one used on me was laced with... "Wolfsbane," I hissed.
I turned around to see a glaring male Omega who strangely looks a lot like Tauren.
BANG! BANG!
Two more shots ripped through my stomach, making me howl in fury.
"This is for King Josiah," the Omega spat, eyes fill of rage as I staggered towards him before being shot in the left arm. BANG!
"This is for Queen Ember!" BANG! BANG! Two more bullets hit my right arm.
"This is for ALL your victims!" BANG! BANG! There went my legs as the poison began to flow through me.
I couldn't move any further. How the fuck can this twerp shoot?!
"This is for Tauren Knox!" The Omega screamed with anger as he aimed the gun for...
No. He wouldn't dare.
BANG!
"FUCK!" I howled as I felt my appendage being shot down as I collapsed onto the ground. "Help me!"
Prince Zechariah only watched in awe as I saw the Omega pick up the sword and stormed towards me with a vengeance. "And this...is for you!" he seethed. "See you in hell!"
My body was too damaged from the bullets as I was now paralyzed with fear. I saw the runt raised the sword high...and the last thing that I saw was the blade aiming straight for my neck.
Just like that...I was done.

Third-Person POV
Gentle reader, they said that hell hath no fury than a woman scorned. But what happens when a male Omega scorned by a ruthless Alpha leaves behind a butterfly effect like none other? The answer is simple: retribution.
As Eric lay dying with his body riddled with wolfsbane-laced bullets and a stab wound in the neck, he never imagined that he would be killed by an Omega and one who was the second-chance mate of an astounded Zechariah Deveraux.
"Wow," the prince breathed as Cheyenne stood over the remains.
The Omega turned to him, an apologetic look in his eyes. "I had to do it, my love. I would not lose you after you lost your parents."
"I don't blame you, but I prefer that you remained indoors where it's safer," Zechariah replied as he joined his newly-discovered mate. "Mom and Dad would've loved you."
Cheyenne kissed Zechariah on the lips. "We'll give them and the other fallen guards a proper burial," he assured him. "For now, let's go inside."
Nothing more was said as the couple headed back into the palace where the other workers were busy with cleanup while other guards came to collect the deceased.
No one would care if Eric Girbaud's remains mysteriously vanished. As far as anyone was concerned, he got what he deserved.
Don't even think about going anywhere just yet, folks! We still have one more chapter left before the two-part epilogue, and it's going to be a doozy! Stay tuned!
