Chapter One: Wedding Bells
*Bzzzp* *Bzzzp*
"Aren't you going to answer that?" one of my sisters other bride maids asked.
I laughed, "Nope - it's the wrong number."
*Bzzp* *Bzzp*
"Can you at least turn that off? You're at your own sisters wedding!" My sister's snobby best friend sneered at me as I rolled my eyes.
"I'll turn it off when we're about to head down the isle."
She makes a huffing noise and turns away from me, she's still peeved my sister chose me as her brides maid - isn't she?
*Bzzp* *Bzzp*
Oh for crying out loud. I pulled my phone out of my cleavage and unlocked my phone - that's when I saw this randoms texts.
: Unknown Number : You look pretty :
: Unknown Number : It's not the wrong number Poppy :
: Unknown Number : I don't like Melanie - she seems like a bitch :
I smirked at the last bit before I stiffened - how can this person know what Melanie, my sisters snobby best friend, said? Actually - I'm pretty sure if anyone saw her that'd automatically know she's a bitch.
But then how did this random know about the wrong number thing? Well, once more I guess it's because of the normal thing to think when some nut is telling me I look pretty, which once again is probably a bluff.
"You alright - err...?"
Looking up I gave my sisters soon-to-be's little blonde sisters a fake smile, "Poppy, my names Poppy."
"I'm Lilly."
"Lovely name," she blushed and looked down at her hands that were folded in her lap before I felt my phone vibrate again.
*Bzzp* *Bzzp*
Turning my pale green eyes back to my phone I continued to read the text this weirdo sent me.
: Unknown Number : Not as pretty as your name :
: Poppy : Okay, dude. Either stop texting me or I'm blocking your ass :
Scowling at my phone I then turned back to the window and stared out of it, really bored. Sure this is my sisters wedding, but I don't do the social thing. My sister is getting married at an early age, but mostly because of my mum pressuring her into it all her life.
I on the other hand had evaded my mother and her long, boring speeches about getting married, pushing out some grand kids for her, being a social butterfly and letting her become rich through my husband.
My mother adores the man my sisters marrying, because of his money. Sure he's a good guy, but I can't get over the fact he seemed to be more interested in my sisters boobs than her brain.
*Bzzp* *Bzzp*
"For fuck sakes, turn your phone off," Melanie snapped and I rolled my eyes before I checked my phone.
: Unknown Number : Meet me at the gazebo near the lakes edge at six pm :
: Poppy : I'm blocking you now, ta-ta :
: Unknown Number : Meet me or else :
: Poppy : Oh, is that a threat mister ? :
: Unknown Number : Depends. Are you coming :
Rolling my eyes I turned my mobile off before I put it in my cleavage once more, since my breasts were - umm... large enough to conceal that my phone is in there.
The car stops at in front of the church and we all piled out of the car before we started down the path towards where the wedding was. Spotting my sister coming out of the car and I walked over to her and looped my arm around hers, "Ready sweet heart?"
"As I'll ever be," she gives me a nervous smile and I poked her powdered nose.
"Don't be nervous - you're beautiful and everything will go perfectly."
"I hope so."
"I know so," I mused.
"Poppy, can you line up in your spot please?" I turned to see my mother giving me a look and I nodded while I pulled my arm out of my sisters and got in position in front of my mother and sister.
Since my father passed from cancer when I was eleven, mum has taken it on herself to do all the jobs he's meant to do at weddings, and not anything else but that really. To be honest - she's a bit obsessed with the idea of getting her daughters being married - 'yay' me.
Here comes the bride starts playing and two by two bride maids and men in suits start walking down the isle and a guy joins me, "Hi, Jack - met you in the practice?" He gives me a grin and I smiled polietly at him.
"Of course, I'm Poppy."
"A fitting name for someone who's quite gorgeous," he winks at me before he holds his arm out for me to take, and I awkwardly put my hand on his arm and then we started walking down the hard plastic isle that was put over the grass as we walked through the green strips of willow.
Staring straight forward we continued down the isle, smiling as people whispered and eyed the two of us and while the photographer snapped pictures of us. We got to the end and we parted before we stood there for a moment as we waited for my sister to come, and then she did.
And the breath was knocked out of everyone at how beautiful she was.
And now, the long, boring thing of wedding this guy and my beautiful sister together - I hope they made a good decision with the cake, or else I am going to sit in the corner and be a sour persona.
"I do."
"I do," my sister says and I beamed at the two - realizing the look on the guys face, he looked so happy... as if he just found a working cotton candy machine on the side of the road.
"You may kiss the bride," and they leaned closer, me being - well, me, quickly looked at my flowers as they kissed, and awkwardly made sure that the flower's were okay... I'm such an awkward Nancy, aren't I?
