Part 44 - Uniteresting and boring

Hello! I hope today is going to be great day! The weather outside is not that great, but somebody has a birthday, 🎉🍾💥, so yeah. I need to get out of my bed, that would be awesome start. Anyway I wish you amazing day. Enjoy ^.^
——————————————————

(Delirious POV)
I woke up with pain in my stomach. I tried to calm myself down, my heart, even my thoughts as I was recalling what had happened.

Ryan Brown. Elly!

I felt anger slowly taking control over my body, pushing the pain in my stomach away. I opened my eyes to be left in surprise. I was lying in the living room in my own house. I saw my victim sleeping on the sofa, which made me confused, but then I remembered that he suffers from Stockholm syndrome.

I would never guessed it would be that strong.

Slowly I looked down to see bandages on my stomach.

So he saved my life? Or did he call somebody else? I don't remember anything that happened after I got into my car. Just a blank spot.

I silently growled, making the pain even worst.

"Y-you need something? Any-anything?" I heard his sleepy voice.

I slowly shook my head, trying to get up, when he jumped to me and pushed me back.

"Rest for a while, please."

I looked at his hands put on my shoulders, then to his eyes.

"I can take care of myself," I said, ignoring my own beating heart.

His hands left my body, and I felt sudden coldness on the places they previously were.

"I know, I'm not doubting anything. I-I just want you to rest for a few days, can you promise me that?"

Can't! I have to find Elly, kill Ryan, kill that agent guy, kill you and your best friend, get my money, and finally live the life I used to. Just me and myself.

"C-can you promise?" He repeated, which interrupted my thoughts.

"If I promise you this, will you shut up?" I asked without any emotions.

He smiled happily, which made me warm. I started to enjoy that smile. So genuine without any faking.

"Yes."

"Two days. Could you bring me my phone?"

I need to call Tyler. I need to find Elly as soon as possible.

"Sure. Where is it though?" He replied, standing up.

Oh fuck! Now it's the test of his obedience. We have two possibilities. He will return or he won't.

"Back of my van there's bag. Keys are on the counter in the kitchen."

He nodded his head, and within few seconds I lost the vision of him. Doubts surrounded my mind.

Well and he's gone. Now I have to get out of this house, destroy everything I can. The nearest police station is half an hour from here. I need to get my files, my clothes, every-

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the closing door. Within few seconds he came to me, putting the bag on the ground next to me.

Oh he's back. That's weird.

"I-I didn't want to go through your things," he said nervously.

How noble of you.

"You need anything? Something to eat? More pillows? Or more blankets?"

I raised one of my eyebrow, slightly suspicious about his behavior.

"No need," I said, hissing in pain when I my stomach decided to tell him otherwise.

"I'll get you some medicine," he mumbled, walking away.

"I don't need it," I growled, cursing myself for being such a stupid fuck.

From what point my life went to complete shit? Everything was perfect. No problems, no threats from cocky Irish FBI, no connections to Tyler, no fucked up contracts. And mainly no Evan.

I looked at him, as he was walking back to me with glass of water and some pills. Suddenly I felt so thirsty just by looking at it, so I accept his offer.

"Can..." he started, after I was done with the drinking, then gulped.

"Can you tell me what happened?" He finished his sentence.

I sighed, giving him back the glass. He sit down, waiting for my answer.

What can I say? I fucked up heavily.

"None of your business. Can I have a free space? I need to call somebody."

I didn't want to be that harsh on him, but I wasn't used to this treatment. I had been by myself from my 11, living the life I wouldn't wished to anybody. Eternal hunger and thirst, coldness from the surroundings, even from people around. No friends, only people using you, people in business. That and much more will surely change the view on the current world you're living in.

"Sure. Call me if you need anything," he replied, walking away.

I recognize he was hurt from his voice, and I knew I shouldn't care about his feelings, but I little bit did. Once he was out of the living room, I turned my phone back on. I saw dozens missed calls from Tyler, text messages where he was reflecting his worries and anger. I smiled a bit, warmness filled me when I recognized he cared about me. I dialed his number.

"Oh my God, Delirious. What the fuck? You ok?"

"I need help," I stated in calm voice.

"What? What help? You hurt? Something happened? Where are you? Fucking talk to me!"

"Calm down! I'm ok now, no need to worry. I need your help though. Can you come as quickly as possible, please. I don't want to discus this over a phone."

"Sure. Be there in a few minutes." And with that I hung up.

"Evan?" I shouted, hissing in pain and cursing myself for doing this to me again.

He appeared in a few seconds, concerns written in his eyes.

"My friend is coming over, but could you stay here before he arrives?"

He seemed to be confused over my sentence, and I was as well. I was feeling warm and welcome around him.

"Tell me something about you, Evan," I nudge him, hiding my interest in expressionless voice.

"M-me? I mean... I'm not that interesting person. Besides you know everything about me. And I know I'm dying soon so there's really no point in that," he replied, sitting down on the sofa with a view on me.

I wanted to hear his voice. It was kind of a soothing tone, calmness in the loud crowd.

"We can sit here in silence, which you're well aware of, or you can talk. It's up to you," I replied.

He sighed, playing with his fingers. He looked nervous.

"Fine. But I don't know what to tell you, really. Everything I'll tell is uninteresting and boring."

"Try me. What about your childhood. Some funny memories?"

There was a small smile creating on his face, which made my heart fastened.

"Yeah, actually. The moment I befriendedCraig, it was priceless. We hated each other, well not exactly hate, but I didn't like him. Everybody in the school knew that he wasn't normal kid. Normal kids like opposite gender, right? Well he liked boys, and it was the reason why every boy, and most girls, was picking up on him, including me. Am I boring you yet?"

To my own surprise I was listening to every word he was saying. He sounded interesting, he was interesting. Additionally I've never lived through the proper teenage life as a normal human should, so stories like this filled me with slight jealousy that I wasn't lucky enough to live like that.

"Continue please," I nudge him again, seeing his smile widened was like a victory for me.

"But one particular girl was in my radar for a longer time. And she was really good friend with him. So... I had to decide. Either be in a cool kids group, adored by others, but never talk to a girl I liked, or talk with Craig, giving up on popularity, but maybe be happy."

I used the time he needed to inhale new air.

"You would give up on popularity because of some girl?" I asked, which made him laugh.

It was for the first time I heard his laughter. And somebody help me, but it was amazing. Like a beautiful melody.

"Well, yeah. Popularity wasn't the thing I was looking for. Sure I cursed myself for the rest of the high school, but women wanted me either way. Plus college came and things were better for both of us."

"And that girl?" I asked curiously.

"She rejected me. She had a crush on Craig, so I had no chance with her," he finished with chuckles.

I slowly nodded. He looked lost in his thoughts, as he was recalling some memories I didn't know about. We heard a slamming on the door, and I knew our time ended.

"Go open, and then give us some time alone," I commanded.

He nodded, disappearing into the hall to open the door. Within few seconds I saw Tyler. As he saw me, his eyes widened, filling with worries and fears.

"Oh my fucking God! Delirious what happened? Who did this to you?!" He asked so quickly, that I was a lucky man to understand a thing.

So he didn't fix me? Who did it then? Was it Evan?

"Calm down, sit," I said, pointing to the sofa.

"Speak!" He commanded and I sighed.

"Everything went to the shit. I got to the boat without any problems, then noticed too many men were on the board. I waved it off, getting down to his room where he should be fucking the girls, exactly like Elly told me. As I opened the door, the high pitch sound hit my ears. They got me. Ryan knew I was coming for him. Elly betrayed me," I silently growled the last sentence full of anger.

"That fucking bitch is going to pay. Gimme less then a hour, I'm finding her location and taking that cunt down," he said furiously.

"That was one thing I wanted to ask you for. I'll rest for a two days. Within this time you have to find where she is, and if she would wanted to ran away, just stop her. Cancel her flight, delete  few things in the database or wherever you get the information about people from."

"Consider it done."

"And I'll take her here, I'll make her pay for it. Then we need to kill Ryan. He mocked me Tyler. He said I was a masked amateur."

"He didn't know Delirious is after him? Interesting. I'll take care of it, dude. He won't escape this time."

"I want him down in a week. Before Evan die, you hear me?" I asked firmly.

"In a week? Delirious but..."

"I want this whole situation done. I almost died, and it was all because of fucking cocky Ryan Brown."

"I-I... I could help. I know that man."

We both heard the voice, coming from the hall, and as I looked up I saw Evan standing there with determination in his eyes.
