(Vanoss POV)
I was still checking Cry, unable to trust him. He had the motivation to help us, true, but I was skeptical about his fast agree on my terms.
But maybe I would do the same. If he had Delirious, I would have do anything to get him back. That is, if Felix means the same for Cry as Delirious for me.
I didn't have even taste for any food, I was getting anxious. I wanted to have Delirious back the sooner, the better. We were waiting for Craig in front of my car, the only person who knew where Delirious was held.
Once we were united again, I let Craig drive, while getting in the back next to Cry. I wanted to keep an eye on him all the time.
"You sure, you know where it is? We have only one chance," I mumbled towards Craig.
"I-I'm sure it's where Mark and Jack are. So I assume it's where we're heading," he replied, and I noticed his arm.
"What happened to you?"
He glanced at me through the mirror, then returned his eyes back on the road.
"Nothing."
"Craig," I started worriedly.
"Seriously, it's nothing. Just a little cut."
We stopped in the middle of the forest far away from the city. All of us got out of the car and I suspiciously looked at my best friend.
"It's this way," Craig pointed toward one direction, and I opened the back of my car.
Grabbing the Glock, the only gun I got used to, I put it behind my back. Looking at the Cry, I noticed a few knifes and guns on him. This was it. Our final countdown.
"Craig, I want you to stay here," I commanded.
"What? Why?" He replied, already offended.
"We need fast drive away. I can't tell how's gonna go, or what's gonna happen. I need to be sure, that we will get away from here as fast as we can. Do you understand?"
"What about I would go inside? I feel useless just waiting for you here, I need to do something," he whispered.
"You don't understand. Your role is the most important here. You're the main leader, you are the firm point who's holding us together," I tried to courage him, as quickly as I could.
"B-but I don't feel like it."
"Is he really having an emotional crisis now?" Cry crossed his arms.
"Please, I need you," I tried one more time.
"Fine. But next time I'll go too."
Finally.
I looked at Cry, who slightly nodded, and I took a deep breath. We walked on the path, in the distance there was a building. More steps I did towards it, the more I was nervous. My brain created too many thoughts, mainly with the starting 'What if'. I didn't care about the possibility of dying there, but I was uncertain about meeting Delirious.
Cry seemed to be fine, and I definitely didn't want to show him, how nervous and scared I was. Thanks to my mask, he couldn't see it. I still hope he didn't know we were saving his concurrent.
We approached the door, both of us pulling out our guns. I noticed the door weren't closed, just slightly opened. Pushing into them, the first thing that greeted me was disgusting smell which hit my nostrils. My eyes saw dead bodies, completely destroyed. Their body parts, like hands or head, were lying apart, blood on the walls. My stomach did a flip, and I backed out of the hallway to the fresh air.
I had to try really hard, breathing slowly, to let my stomach calm, to get used to the view and the smell.
"What the fuck happened here?" Cry asked silently.
Oh my God, is Delirious ok?
I walled myself up, walking back in. It was disgusting, I tried not to look at the bodies, when I followed Cry. We went downstairs, walking through some hallways and rooms. I noticed similarities in some rooms, remembering the room where Delirious was in.
But every men or women were dead. They were ripped apart like whoever did this didn't even had to use much power. Or he did, which was the scariest part.
"Where the fuck is Fischbach?" Cry asked me silently.
"Maybe we should separate, we can cover more ground," he offered me, and even though I didn't like the idea of being here alone, I nodded.
"We will meet upstairs," I said, watching him disappear in one of the hallways.
I opened the closest room, seeing some man tied to the pole. There was blood on the ground, and I noticed he was still breathing slightly. I ran towards him.
"Jack," I whispered confused.
His body was sliced from every side, blood covered his whole body. It was disgusting, and I felt pity for that man. He slowly opened his eyes, gasping for the air.
"Where's Delirious?" I asked him straight wards.
"Escaped. He's... he's long gone," he replied so silently, closing his eyes again.
Wait, does this mean he escaped? He's safe! Oh my God, he survived this hell, he live!
"Where's Mark? He wasn't with you?"
It took him a several seconds to reply and I knew he was suffering a lot.
"He was h-here... b-but we got separated..."
"Who did this to you? Who killed all those people?" I continued asking.
"Kill me. End my suffer," he whispered, coughing blood out.
"Jack, tell me who did it."
"No idea... it happened so fast... kill me, please."
I back away from him, my souls fighting inside. Part of me wanted to kill him, to help him reach the calm and peace, but the other half, the half which suffered through everything, just couldn't let it happen. He hurt Delirious, he was participating in his torture.
"Come back, please! Don't leave me!" He yelled after me, but I was already closing the door.
So this is it. Delirious is out, maybe he managed to get back into town, maybe he contacted Tyler already. So now the only thing left is wait.
I returned back upstairs, not even feeling a guilt leaving him die there. Cry approached me in a few seconds.
"I haven't got any luck. Everybody are dead," he announced me, and I sighed.
"Fuck. I haven't met anybody either, just dead bodies," I lied, thanking everyone that I had my mask on.
"What now? We didn't get that fucker Fischbach."
There's no point getting him. Delirious is ok, that's all that matters. So this is it.
"We will think about something," I said, quickly walking towards the car.
"I want Felix back," Cry said deeply behind me.
"You will get him," I replied, my eyes glued to the car.
"When?"
Right after I call Tyler. Maybe Delirious made it to his house already.
"Soon."
I pulled out my phone, calling Tyler. It took him a few good seconds, before he answered it.
"You have him?" He greeted me.
"He isn't here."
"What do you mean?" Tyler replied confused.
I walked into safe distance, watching Cry lean against the car.
"There's a massacre. So many dead people, but I met Jack. He said Delirious escaped, he's ok. Maybe he's on his way home by now."
Tyler was silent for a a while, which made me kinda uneasy.
"Is Cry still with you?"
"Yeah. What now? Get Felix back to Cry, return home and wait for Delirious to show up?" I asked, smiling.
"Exactly. I'll send you the address where I want to trade Felix, give it to Cry. Tell Craig to meet me at my house. You can go home meanwhile."
"Ok," I whispered.
"And Evan, the last thing before I hung up on you. If you see Delirious, call me first, ok? Before you do anything, call me. I... I have a few things I want to discuss with him, and even though I know you two have so much to tell each other, but I have really important things for him. Don't forget."
"I won't," I lied.
Like it would matter anyway. If I truly see Delirious, I don't think I will be able to call Tyler. I want to talk to him, finally get my answers.
