Flash Freeze (Pet Escape)

CILovF

In the middle of a busy city, at the end of 21st road (Where 21st crosses with Sunflower Street and continues on as 32nd) stood Daisy Duke's Irresistible Pets, a pet shop. This pet shop was stranger than the others around it; for the pets there could never leave the idea of escaping alone. Much to the owners distress and ire, with each plan-making pet she got rid off two more took its place (not quite literally, but the effect stays the same). It is now we will take a jaunt trip into the store and see another of the pets' plan in action, good luck to them.

X-X-X

"Last time we failed but this time we will not; behold, a new plan!" The dog, Bex, said to the rabbit beside her. The rabbit hopped in surprise at the voice. Bex was a large and loud dog, with its amble trot but ferocious speed, was quite the dog to mess with.

"Y-You do kn-know that sc-scared me, r-right?" The small, black-furred rabbit replied, slowly slowing down his hops to a standstill point.

"Everything scares Jax," Bex muttered underneath her breath before smiling at the rabbit and saying an apology, "So sorry to have scared you. I was simply very excited to show you the newest escape plan I had created."

The rabbit, know known as Jax, huffed, "It's quite alright, just try to not to do it again. A quick tap and you'll have my attention."

Gritting her teeth Bex answered, "Of course, thank you. I will definitely take this into consideration next time I want to announce a plan. Which, hopefully, after this should be never."

"What is the plan?"

"Was just getting to that, but in its basic form. Last night Birdie was able to escape her cage and she unlocked mine and your door-"

"What about her?" The rabbit interrupted.

"Hers, was of course, already unlocked and required no unlocking and it is still unlocked."

"Okay, continue on."

"Anyhow, when the workers come in, I will leap from my cage and you-"

"I will follow suit? Are you completely sure about that? You know I can't stand work under pressure. It makes me nervous and I happen to chat a lot when I'm nervous, quite the habit of it I do make. Oh look at me! Getting nervous simply at the discussion of the plan, I get nervous far too easily these days. I bet some time, just an hour or two, in an open field would do me a load of good."

"May I finish the plan, Jax?"

"Sorry, yes, of course."

"Okay so, you will signal to Birdie to unlock the rest of the dogs' cages first before attending to the other-"

"Now wait a minute, why the dogs first?"

"Again, I was getting to that, anyway the dogs then will all leap and cause a distraction for the workers so Birdie will fly unnoticed to the rest of the pets. Once the rest are done, Birdie will do a small song-"

"Is it her version of Cannon D? I do love it, simply too sweet a song to hear."

"Focus rabbit! We have to iron out the details of this plan before the workers arrive."

"Right, so sorry."

"It's alright." With that Bex was able to explain the rest of the plan without much interruption from the rabbit; which was a miracle in itself.

"Brilliant plan! What was the inspiration?"

"Keith's work." At the questioning glance Bex received she explained more, "the turtle here before you. He was truly a mastermind but he sadly passed on to a new home before he could see his plan in action."

"I am quite sorry for the great Sir Keith. I do hope we make him proud."

"Me too."

X-X-X

Once afternoon rolled around, and the pet shop was at it's busiest; customers from the nearby fast food usually came to check out the pets, was when Bex's plan was put into motion. She nodded to Jax, telling him to get ready for the moment when he'd signal to Birdie. Jax nodded back to him and told Birdie to start her aerial warm-ups (she insists that she can't fly without them).

Bex crouched and tensed her muscles, waiting for the perfect moment. With each step the blonde haired worker took, brought her closer to perfect position for Bex to strike. She was almost there...almost...almost...THERE! Bex was just about to leap when Jax's voice cut through.

"Not yet," he said, "Birdie has yet to complete her stretches. We do want her to be ready after all." Bex said nothing, she simply glared at Birdie wishing she'd hurry up. It was two whole minutes wasted before Birdie was done and Bex could get back in position. Unluckily for her the worker had moved and she had to wait again for another golden opportunity to strike. Once she found it, she propelled herself forward in a leap that had to have been her strongest and most graceful to date.

"Get it off me! Get it off!" The worker screamed as he flailed around with Bex on his leg. Bex smirked at the humans response and waited for the rest of the dogs, after a few moments when not even one had joined. She turned to Birdie and saw her still waiting a signal. She turned to Jax and saw him entertaining some human child, growling a low growl she caught the rabbit's attention and he mouthed an apology before signaling Birdie. The worker had gotten Bex off his leg and was moving to put Bex into her cage when the rest of the dogs broke free, running around like crazy. While the workers were busy with the dogs the other pets joined the dogs and together they ran out the door with their newfound freedom. Little did they know they'd find themselves back soon enough.

The End
