-> Ell and Matilda set Tori and Tamara on a blind date.
------
Tamara sat cross-legged on her bed alone. A mirror, which was something that you wouldn't usually see her holding, was sitting in her slim hands. She carefully applied the light blush on her soft cheeks and then sprayed herself with some of Matilda's perfume. She immediately regretted it and coughed as the strong smell of roses surrounded her stuffy room.
"Hey!" Matilda's voice came at Tamara's door. "I said you could use my makeup, not my mirror!"
The ginger swiped the mirror out of Tamara's hands and hugged it close to her chest.
"Can you please, for the love of god, stop being a narcissist for a solid minute?" Tamara coughed slightly at the strong smell of the perfume surrounding her once again.
"Nope!" Matilda chirped as she observed herself in the mirror.
Tamara rolled her eyes and got up from her bed. "I can't believe I'm actually doing this," she wiped away the sweat forming on her forehead. "Going on a blind date? Tch, as if this night is gonna go well."
"Don't be like that!" Ell appeared at the entrance of Tamara's room. "This is good for you, Tam! You're getting out and doing things at least. They're a great person, you two will are totally gonna get along talking and-"
"Jeez, you're giving me anxiety just by talking about social interactions," Tamara interrupted Ell from listing the things that she imagined Tamara and her blind date doing.
"Don't be a baby." Ell quickly took the mirror out of Matilda's hands, who instantly began protesting against Ell's actions. Ell, obviously, ignored the ginger and placed the mirror in front of Tamara's face.
"I'll do the rest of your makeup and then you can get dressed."
"I don't even know what I'm supposed to wear," Tamara groaned and rolled her eyes. She clearly didn't want to go on the date, but due to Ell forcing her to, she didn't really have a choice.
"I can fix that!" Ell waved her hand dismissively as she held Tamara's face still to finish applying the makeup.
Boy, this really wasn't what Tamara pictured herself going through.
——
"At least try to have fun - 'kay?" Ell told Tamara as she opened the car door to leave.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Tamara slammed the door behind her and huffed to see the building of a diner.
She glanced at the window to see that it wasn't at all full. There were only a few people sitting at a table together and only one sitting alone. The one person sitting alone was a woman with an interesting choice of hairstyle; at the top two pieces of her hair had been flicked up and made it seem as though they were devil horns.
Tamara felt as if she had seen this person before but ignored the feeling.
"That must be her," Tamara muttered as she proceeded to walk inside.
She took a good look around the diner to make sure nobody else was sitting alone and looking as though they were waiting for a date to arrive. There was nobody else but the woman with the bizarre hairstyle.
Tamara slowly approached the woman and opened her mouth to greet her, until -
"Tamara?" The woman spoke in a thick Norwegian accent and stared at her in surprise.
There was a moment of silence between the two. The music playing from the radio sitting on the counter played as Tamara began to realise that she had most definitely seen this woman before.
"Tori?"
"Holy shit!" Tori cackled as she observed Tamara from bottom to top. "I gotta say; you were the last person I thought who was gonna be my blind date."
"Right back at ya..." Tamara laughed nervously.
Tori and Tamara have had an interesting past. Well, not really that interesting. To cut it short; they hated each other in elementary until college. It's been years since they both moved on.
"Cmon, sit down with me." Tori pointed to the seat in front of her and Tamara obeyed. "You suit that outfit."
Tamara looked down at her clothing. It was most certainly something she wouldn't wear for every new day - she'd normally just wear her blue hoodie and a pair of jeans. However, she was wearing a baggy blue flannel over a black t-shirt with a different pair of jeans this time.
"Oh, well, thanks," Tamara appreciated the compliment from her old rival. "It's weird, we used to see each other in the same hoodies every day y'know."
"Exactly," Tori chuckled.
A waitress soon came over and took their orders. Tamara didn't order much, however, Tori had gotten too creative over the number of things she wanted on the menu.
Tamara never suspected the date to go so smoothly. She hated Tori for the longest time - how could they, after only a few years separated, get along so well?
Tamara and Tori exited the diner with two smiles beaming in their faces.
"I didn't see myself enjoying this date," Tamara admitted with a small chuckle.
"I didn't see myself actually wanting to go onto another date with you," Tori said with a little smirk forming on her face.
They both stood there in silence for a moment.
"Do you see us going on another date?" Tori asked with a hint of hope in her silver eyes.
"Obviously." Tamara caught the sight of Ell's car pulling up into the parking lot. The window of the passenger seat rolled down to reveal the green hooded woman. She waved at Tori and gestured for Tamara to hop inside the car.
"You have my number," Tamara said as she began walking towards the car. "Let me know when you wanna have things go further."
"Will do, Jehovah."
