I don't usually do text-based covers, to begin with, so this was fun to experiment with. I initially had another idea in mind to do with roses but decided against it, as it edged too much towards romance. Hence, I settled for a firey theme which better suited the mood as this is a competition. The red smoke effect in the centre I made using smoke brushes, then I added fire flakes at the top and bottom to draw the focus into the centre. The border design added a finishing touch to the overall graphic, framing the text and the background elements together.

I focused a lot on the text placement as that is the focal point of this graphic. I fell in love with the font from the first time I saw it and decided it would be perfect for this graphic. It's hard to find the free version online so check out "Fonts Galore" by @sereneur for the download link.] I also used other fonts like Cinzel for certain letters that could've looked a little better. I played with the glyphs to add some flourish to the text. I really liked how "Competiton" sat in-between "Metanoia" and "Graphic", because, in my humble opinion, it adds more depth and variation to the design. Nevertheless, I do realise it disrupts the chronology so peeps may read it as "Metanoia Competiton Graphic". However, I felt that the visual appeal outweighs the effectiveness of chronology in this case and decided to leave it as is.

I don't have much else to say other than I am proud of this piece. I never thought myself capable of creating text-based designs like this so I'm gonna go ahead and pat myself in the back. I hope you like it!
