Chapter 31: Changes.

Deal went up with Great to the room where there were two beds. He used to live with Tank, but when he had injured his head on a mission and lost his memory, they had decided not to put anyone else in his room. Letting Tank go to his parents, Nanfha paid for all the treatment and subsequent therapies for the guy, as well as gave 100 million baht for the maintenance of the former bodyguard. Now Tank works as a barista in a cafe near his parents' house.

- You can hang your stuff in the closet for now, just move mine to the side. It's late tonight, so we're not getting a new closet. That's your bed, the bathroom and toilet are there," the kid told me, trying not to look at his young neighbor.

- And the desk? Can I use it? - Great was interested, because he had homework to do.

- Of course, I seldom sit at it. Only when I don't have time to finish my papers," Deal smiled, and Great noticed it.

Great hung up his clothes and put his shoes down in the closet. He laid out his textbooks on the table and put his notebooks away in the drawer.

- Come on, I'll show you the house," Deal offered softly.

The boy led the newcomer around the house, showing him almost every place except the basement, where the prisoners were usually brought. Deal thought it was strange that they hardly came across any people during their rounds... But when they reached the surveillance room and heard moaning, Deal realized everything.

- Hey! This is the boss's private life! Turn off the cameras in the dash, quick! - Swore the kid, blushing as Great watched him walk over to the monitor.

- Ohho! You've got some private porn! - joked Great as he saw Nan pinned to a small table by the very 'friend' of his grandmother.

Deal turned off the camera in the dash and the guys in the room howled in outrage. Only 5 people had access to turn off the cameras; Paul, Nan, Dieo, Max and Dial.

- What the fuck is wrong with you guys? Let everyone see your sex, huh? Should I tell Max? Or should I tell the boss? - the kid threatened, and everyone shook their heads.

- Let's move on, Great! Forget what you just saw! - Deal blushed slightly, grabbing the boy's wrist and pulling him out of the room.

- Are you hungry? Let's go to the kitchen and see what's left in the fridge... - the kid suggested and Great agreed.

- Tomorrow is Sunday... I'll show you the territory later, it's dark now, and you need to sleep, tomorrow will be a hard day, - Deal said, putting food on the plates.

- I'll have our people help organize everything..." he continued, and Great froze with his chopsticks in his hand.

- I'm sorry... but you have to accept it... I know it hurts, but it can't be changed. The dead don't come back to life, even if we want them to very badly... - Deal replied sadly.

- I realize with my head that he can't be brought back, but I can't believe it. I don't want him to die, I don't want to be alone," Great spoke quietly, looking at the sticks in his trembling hand.

Deal got up from his chair and walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Great looked up at the guy and seeing the empathetic and sympathetic look, tears ran down his cheeks.

- It's okay, it's okay to cry," Deal soothed him, saying what he had been told when he lost his mom.

- 'I'll help Auntie sort out the custody issue so you can stay with her. I think you can stay home this week and not go to school if you don't want to," Dial's understanding tone was mesmerizing.

- I can't, I have an inter-school swimming competition on Wednesday and a basketball game with the KVO school team on Friday. I have to be there! Last season these assholes didn't play fair, they blackmailed the forward into working at a nightclub as a waiter. He doesn't sell himself, but you can't prove that to others. He was pissed off about it... shit! I should have punched that asshole captain in the face! - and Deal squeezed his shoulder a little harder.

- If there's any trouble, you can tell me. I'll help you. You don't want to get your hands dirty with worthless people. You need to finish school without a record to get into a good university," the boy reassured him, looking into his light brown eyes through his glasses.

- You sound like my father..." the young man said sadly and decided to continue eating.

After the meal, the boys went up to their room and Deal suggested that Great take a shower in their room, while he went to the room where Lien was taking a shower. The time was nearing midnight when the boys went to bed.

The next morning, Nan had Deal and Dieo take care of the funeral service while he and Lien went to the temple to make an offering for Fox. The boys booked the hall and paid for it for all seven days. Auntie and Great were accepting condolences from people they knew and not so familiar with. Great, seeing his father's photo in the hall framed in flowers, realized that he was really gone... Nan and Lien were with them most of the day, supporting and comforting them. They were both well aware that these days just had to be endured, even though they would not be easy.

- Are you alright? - Nan asked quietly to Lien standing next to him, who was suspiciously quiet.

- Is it possible to be fine at a funeral, even if it's not your relatives? - The handsome man answered the question with a question, and the mobster took his hand.

- If you're having a hard time, we can leave here," Nanfha suggested, but Lien only shook his head.

- Auntie needs us right now. Even if we just stand around her, she'll feel better," Lien refused, looking at the quietly crying woman.

They drove home in the evening, and Nan didn't even pester Lien for sex, seeing that he wasn't mentally ready.

- I have to work tomorrow and so do you. Don't forget to give me the address of the office, I'll be there by 6 to talk to San," Raed reminded, looking at the man lying next to him in bed.

- You can take me to the office in the morning and then drive to work..." Nan smiled, satisfied with his plan.

- What a sly one! Okay... I'll drive you... - agreed the handsome man, and Nanfha kissed him on the lips without penetration.

- You tease me like that and your cock will end up inside me... - Lien resented him with a mischievous smile.

- Sleep, my sex machine... today was a hard day, you need to rest... - the mobster pulled Raed into his arms, stroking his back.

***MORNING***

Lien set his alarm early so he could go for a run, but instead of a run, Nan dragged him into the shower, where he first fucked him and then washed him. After getting dressed, the two went down to the dining room where Timmy had already set the table. Over breakfast, they discussed that Dieo and Deal would be with Auntie and Grace in the hall. Max had to finish up with Don, so Tue and Cob were to drive the second car behind Nan.

After breakfast, Lien drove Nan to his office and now it came to him...one of the tallest office buildings in the city, Nanfha's office.

- I'll arrange for you to be let in. My office is on the 34th floor, down the hall to the right from the elevator. There'll be a girl in the reception area with a rack with my name on the door. I don't think you'll miss it," Nan smiled, kissing Lien on the cheek.

- Okay, I'll try to get there a little earlier," Lien smiled as he ran his hand over the mobster's cheek and Nan got out of the car.

Lien went to work and only when he wanted to turn on the music from his phone, he realized that he hadn't turned it on since the 11th... When he turned on the device, the messages from Ni and Kin came like from a cornucopia. Arriving at work just as Kin was parking the car, Lien sighed heavily, realizing that he was about to be reprimanded, just like he had been at university... Putting the car in the parking space, Lien got out of the car, twirling the key fob on his finger.

- LIEN NICHAKUN KWAMPAKDI! - Kin's expected shout didn't surprise the handsome man at all.

Lien stopped twirling the keychain on his finger, looking with a smile at the angry man walking towards him with big steps.

- The morning doesn't start with coffee? - Lien teased his friend.

- Are you out of your mind? You're not at home, you're not in your apartment, your phone's off! Do you even know what I've done these past two days, you ungrateful dog! - Kin scolded, jabbing his finger hard into the man's chest.

- Were you getting ready for the wedding? - If you poke me like that, you'll break your finger, and you'll have to wear a cast for the wedding.

Bang

Lien staggered slightly, feeling the pain of the blow.

- Asshole! Ni and I called every morgue and hospital in town looking for your ass! We thought something had happened to you! - Kin continued shouting as he dialed Ni's number.

- Nitta, that asshole is standing in front of me! Yeah! He's fine for now, but he won't be anytime soon! Go get some sleep,' the man resented, soothing the sobbing girl on the phone.

- Kin, can we go to work or are you going to keep yelling at me in the parking lot? - suggested the handsome man, turning his back to his friend.

- Stop right there, asshole! We're not done yet! Where have you been? Were you walking on your license plate again? - Kin rushed after his friend, grabbing him by the elbow.

- Uh-huh... I was at my husband's," Lien replied, and the grip on his arm loosened as the stunned man digested the words.

- Wait, what?! - Kin interjected, thinking he'd imagined it.

- I said I was at my husband's," Raed repeated, entering the elevator, "Are you coming? Or are you taking the next one?

- Nan? You mean Nan? - Kin decided to clarify, but Lien just shrugged his shoulders with a smile.

- I'll kill you both! Ni and I were wondering if something had happened to you and you were having fun with your husband. You couldn't tell us? Fuck it, we didn't call you, but we could have texted you! So and so, I'm fucking Nan, everything's fine," the man shouted in the elevator, not paying attention to the people who were about to enter the elevator.

Hearing the man's yell, no one dared to go inside, deciding to wait. The guys got off on the right floor, but Kin wouldn't stop wailing.

- Oh, shut up already, you're giving me a headache... I had enough sobbing at the funeral yesterday! - Lien couldn't take it anymore and Kin stopped talking.

-You don't go to funerals! I haven't been to one in eight years! Who are you lying to?! You go to the temple once a year on the 10th... - Kin was indignant and at the last words he stopped talking, realizing that he had said too much.

- This year I went on the 12th, - Raed answered calmly, going into his office, but when he heard the answer, Kin followed.

- What 12th? - Kin asked, knowing full well that this sounded nothing like the Lien he had known for the past eight years.

- It doesn't matter. Can we get to work already? - asked the handsome man, changing into his work uniform.

"I have to call Nan... you can't get the truth out of this asshole..." - Kin thought, walking out of the office and pulling out his phone, he went to his office, closing the door just in case.

📞- Yeah?

- Lien was with you? - Kin asked immediately.

📞- Yep, since Thursday night. Drove me to work this morning, why? - Nan replied without a backward glance.

- You could have texted me that he was with you! Ni and I have called every hospital and morgue these days! - The man raised his tone.

📞- I thought you'd guess... Since I didn't call you and ask about him...' Nanfha continued calmly.

- I'm not a telepath, Nan! Tell me, what did my friend do on the 10th? - Kin wondered.

📞- You want the details? - Chuckled the mobster, to which the man clucked.

📞- He...woke me up in the morning for almost an hour...Then shower sex for about three hours, I guess...had breakfast...we sat by the lake.... Lien made a bet with my ex...Won...We watched tv, cooked together...went to the shower at 9pm...Got back at the first hour..... then the morning of the 11th. Shall I tell you about it too? - Nan paused, and Kin's jaw dropped lower and lower.

- No hysterics? No tears? No drinking? - The man interrogated.

- Oh, I came down after work on the afternoon of the 11th and he was drinking in the living room, kicking himself for forgetting. I took him into my office, poured him a decent drink, we talked... I promised him I'd take him to the temple the next day, he told me about Fox... sex... more sex... We ate... Then I went to the hospital with my aunt to identify her son... Picked up my grandson, Lien was very helpful in talking to both the aunt and the boy. At home again sex... On the morning of the 12th I took him to the temple, then went to the funeral parlor, came back in the evening. This morning he took me to the office, then he went to work, - I decided to tell Nan everything at once, because he had a meeting in 10 minutes.

- So he was really at the funeral?! Wait... he forgot?! He forgot about the anniversary?! - Suddenly the man realized and decided to clarify.

- Yep.

- Wow... No, really... Wow... You made it! When I asked him where he was today, the lecher said he was at his husband's. I didn't even believe it right away," Kin admitted as there was a knock on his door.

- Kin, we have a new body! Forget it, Rose, stop taking nudie pictures. You can jerk off at home! - Lien shouted from behind the door and Nanfha laughed when he heard his words.

- Go to work, Kin. And... thanks for everything! - Nan decided to end the conversation, disconnecting.

Kin put the phone in his pocket and, grabbing a jacket labeled "Forensics", went to open the door.

- What's the case? - Inquired the man, looking at his friend.

- The guy was walking his dog in a remote part of the park and his clever dog dug up a bone... Then another one, and when the dog got a hand, the guy called the police. The place is cordoned off, they're waiting for us," Lien said excitedly, realizing that the case was going to be complicated, standing there with a magic suitcase in his hands.

Kin nodded and they both left the bureau, heading towards the crime scene. When they arrived, the shiftless couple Tin and Gan were waiting for them.

- Hello, lost boy. You made your friend nervous... He even called me and asked me to run your car through GPS," Tin laughed, looking at the guys who had arrived together.

- Kin, are you sure you'll marry Rose and not him? - Gan sarcastically pointed his middle finger at him.

- Shall we get to work? I'll leave early today, I have a meeting," the handsome man scolded the boys, and all three of them looked at each other.

- Are you going to get laid? - Tin teased.

- No, I have to pick up my husband from work," Lien squatted down and opened his suitcase.

As he pulled out a small spatula, the three boys looked at each other in silence, not believing their ears.

- Husband? - Gan interjected, looking at Kin.

- Oh, Gan, are you washing your ears with tapioca? Didn't hear you the first time? 'Yes, to pick up my husband,' Lien was getting annoyed and Kin decided to start working to let his friend go early.

Hearing this only Lum arrived and let go of the camera from his hands, good thing it was hanging on a belt around his neck.

After an hour of active and painstaking work, Lien, taking out another bone ordered to expand the fence zone by another 3 meters.

- Why? - Tin asked and Raed placed two right hands in front of him.

- Two hands and what? - The sleep-deprived Tin was dumbfounded.

- Did Gan fuck you in the head all night? Look carefully... Those are two right hands! The third one's in your evidence! I bet you 1,000 baht it's the right one too! - Lien was angry, realizing that the case was now three times as complicated....

Gan and Tin blushed, but said nothing, because Lien was right: the hand in the bag the dog had taken out was also right.

- Damn it... Why today? - muttered the handsome man, trying to get the bones out as quickly as possible.

It took until almost 5 PM for the guys to get the remains out of the ground. Lien kept glancing at his watch, which his friend couldn't help but notice.

- If you're in a hurry, go ahead, I'll finish up here myself. Hello to hubby," Kin smiled, and Lien could see by the number of bones that there was an hour's work left.

- Thank you, Kin. You'll need to cover in front of Rose, call me, - Raed smiled, putting the suitcase in the trunk of the car along with his work jacket.

- Lum! You're taking Kin to the Bureau! - shouted the handsome man, getting behind the wheel.

*** Meanwhile, Nan***

After working all day in the office with paperwork, Nanfha had two meetings before 3 o'clock. At half past six, the mobster walked out of the conference room angry because the transportation company had refused to cooperate with him on a shipment of weapons to Brazil. He realized it was Makoto's doing, but he couldn't prove anything. Back in his office, he saw a beautiful little gift box with a red bow on his desk.

- Pleng, where did the box come from? - Looking out of the office he asked, and from the sharp voice the girl jumped.

- The delivery man brought it. I checked his ID, he works in a jewelry company. He said it should be handed to you personally. I could barely convince him to leave it on the table and leave," the girl apologized, seeing her boss's bad mood.

"Maybe Lien sent something?" - hubby thought and sat down at the table, opening the box.

As soon as he took the lid off, some kind of device went off and confetti flew into the man's face.

"Damn! It's definitely not Lien... a joke San?" - Nan thought and went to open the window because the room was stuffy and clouds were just gathering outside the window, promising rain.

The man stood at the open window and inhaled the smell before the rain....

- Khun Nan... you have a visitor," the girl who entered after knocking reported and the man nodded, deciding it was San.

The girl left the office and a few seconds later a man, obviously not San, entered.

- Did San send you? We agreed on 6! - Nan was indignant and the man smiled as he saw the open box.

- Sit down and shut up. Do as I say," the man monotonously commanded and Nan did as he was told.

- Obedient dog... Now you and I will go out and when asked where we are going, you will answer that you are going to a business meeting. The bodyguards will be ordered to wait in the office, and you left for a while with a friend. Get up, let's go," the man continued and the mobster obediently complied.

When asked, Pleng Nanfha said he was on his way to a business meeting and to the bodyguards in the parking lot that he had gone out for a while with a friend. No one dared to argue with him, and Nan got into a car without license plates.

After two blocks, the car turned into a nook that had no cameras. Nan was transferred to another car with San and Wei sitting in it.

- Thanks for your help, friend! If you need land or anything else from him, you can tell me. When we get to the place - he'll sign anything for us! Ha-ha-ha-ha! Too bad this stuff wears off quickly... by the time we get there we'll need another batch..." laughed San, realizing that this was the perfect kidnapping.

Suddenly, Wei got a call asking him to drop him off at Siam's place. His favorite boy Hiro was back in the country after his tour in Taiwan and wanted to meet his daddy. Wei was just recovering after Lien and missed the sweet boy.
