You guys should know that I love fluff okay have more faith in me (also it's not my fault it's late this time okay wattpads being difficult)

Virgil was slow on his way to lunch the day after he had turned down Patton and Logan's invitation to hang out. He hated that things were so awkward between the three of them, but he didn't know how to fix it. Maybe it was best if the three of them kept away from each other for a while. At least until Roman got back.

Virgil knew he couldn't avoid them at school though, as then it would be too obvious that he didn't want to be around them. He truly didn't want to hurt either of them-he just didn't know what to do. Everything was so weird, and he wished none of it had ever happened this way.

He sighed as he finally did make it to the cafeteria, preparing himself before walking inside. Then he tried to act as normal as possible, making his way over to their usual table with his lunch.

"Hey Virgil!" Patton smiled at him as he sat down, though it wasn't as bright as usual. He seemed to be watching for something, and Virgil felt awkward under his gaze. He sat down quietly, shrinking down in his hoodie as he nodded in Patton's direction.

"Hey, Patton." He mumbled, not meeting his eyes as he busied himself with eating. "Where's Logan? He's usually the first one here."

"I don't know," Patton shrugged. "Maybe he had to stay back in class or something. I'm sure he'll be here in a minute."

Virgil nodded, and the two of them sat in awkward silence. Patton was watching Virgil, and Virgil was only put more on edge by that. He glanced up at Patton, making him look away quickly and frowned. He turned back again, this time not seeing Patton looking at him and feeling slightly more at ease.

"Hey," Patton said after a while of the two sitting awkwardly. "You... don't have to, of course, but me and Logan were planning on staying over at my house tonight and maybe staying outside to stargaze. We know you like to do that too, so we thought... maybe you'd like to join us?"

Virgil looked up at Patton, who looked so nervous to see his answer. Virgil immediately felt guilty for how he had been avoiding them. He had only just started to, but he knew by how Patton was acting that they knew. He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking it over and realizing that he didn't want to avoid his friends forever. They didn't deserve that, and he still wanted to spend time with them, so why would he stay away?

"I... okay." He answered, sighing and pulling his hoodie sleeves over his hands. "I'll go. It sounds like fun."

"That's great!" Patton immediately seemed to cheer up, smiling a little more genuinely now. Virgil couldn't help but smile back, feeling his heart skip a beat. "I'm really glad you're going, Virgil. I don't want things to feel... weird, between us."

"I know," Virgil mumbled, looking down. "It's just... I don't really know what to do. It's... confusing. I'm sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry for!" Patton chided, frowning. "This is confusing for all of us. None of us really know what we're doing, but one thing we all have is each other. We're your friends Virgil, and the tallies on our arms haven't changed that at all, okay? If you need us, we're here for you."

"Yeah," Virgil managed out, tears burning his eyes. "I know. Thank you... I just, I wish things were different. Easier to understand."

"I know," Patton nodded understandingly. Things went quiet between them again, and after a few minutes Logan finally arrived.

"Hello Patton, Virgil." Logan nodded to each of them, sitting down in the seat beside of Patton. "How are you today?"

"Great!" Patton said immediately, smiling over at Logan. "Virgil said he would come over to hang out with us tonight."

"That's good." Logan smiled slightly, looking over at Virgil. "We're both glad to hear that."

When classes finally ended Virgil, Logan, and Patton all met up outside of the school in their usual spot. After finding each other they began walking in the direction of Patton's house, all of them talking and joking and laughing. Virgil was relieved. He had worried that things would be too awkward between them now, but now that they were together things didn't seem different at all. They were just three friends spending time together, and things were normal.

When they got to Patton's it was still way too early to be out stargazing. The three of them decided to sit inside and watch a movie until it got darker outside, and luckily it did seem to make time move by faster. Soon enough the three of them were carrying blankets and pillows into Patton's backyard, making them into a square on the ground. Then they each piled onto them, Virgil sitting in between Logan and Patton.

They were silent as they looked into the stars for a while, laying on their backs. There wasn't much to say, until Patton asked Logan a question about one of the constellations in the night sky. Both him and Virgil turned to watch Logan as he spoke about them, Virgil simply turning his head while Patton leaned onto his elbow to see over Virgil.

They both seemed more interested in watching him as he talked than the sky. They saw Logan wave his hands around as he explained, following him as he pointed up to certain areas of the sky. The two of them took in every word he spoke, and did their best to take in what he was saying even though he was so damn attractive that it was distracting. Eventually he turned to look at them, finding both of them watching him instead of the stars, and frowned as his face flushed.

"Were either of you actually paying attention?" He asked. Virgil felt his face burning, and Patton just laughed.

"We were listening!" Patton insisted, smiling at Logan. "We were just too distracted by you to watch the stars."

Logan looked between the two of them, Patton smiling innocently while Virgil just looked embarrassed, and sighed. "Fine. But I believe I've rambled on enough by now. Why don't we talk about something other than the stars?"

He looked to Patton for something new to talk about, and noticed Virgil's grateful smile he sent his way. Logan smiled back briefly, knowing that he appreciated not having the attention put on him.

As Patton brought up something else randomly and he started to talk about it with Logan, Virgil couldn't help but zone out as he looked between the two of them. Both of them were such good friends, and Virgil was so lucky to have them. They had treated him nicely since he first joined their friend group, and he could never thank them enough for that.

Even now, they always had his back and would help him through anything. They were still there for him now that they had tallies, and they still treated him the same because it's what he had wanted. Virgil loved them so much, and he hoped they knew that. He definitely knew how much they loved him-they showed it all the time.

"Virge?" Patton asked, making him realize he had been staring at Patton for a while. He felt his cheeks heat up. "Are you okay?"

"I-" he cut himself off, face burning darker as he nodded unconvincingly. He looked from Patton to Logan, noticing that both of them were watching him now.

"Hey," Patton said softly, reaching out to take one of Virgil's hands, the three of them sitting up together. Logan took a hold of his other hand, and Virgil shifted his gaze from one to the other, then back again. "Virgil, if something's wrong you can talk to us okay? We're right here for you."

"I-I-uh..." Virgil froze, not sure how he should tell them that nothing was wrong, he was just too in love to process his dumb emotions. "It's... you just..."

Virgil stuttered on for a minute before sighing, looking at them both once more before looking down. He stayed quiet for a minute, then slowly looked back up at Patton. He knew what he was thinking of doing was stupid, and he should just stop before he made his situation ten thousand times worse, but he found he couldn't stop himself as he slowly leaned closer to Patton. Patton, still confused, didn't object as Virgil's lips found their way to his. He kissed Patton softly, only for a few seconds before he pulled away and looked to Logan, kissing him as well.

It was only after he had kissed both of them that his thoughts caught up with him completely. His stomach twisted itself in knots as he realized exactly what he had just done. He stood up suddenly, surprising Logan and Patton both, who stood with him as he began to pace around Patton's backyard.

"I-I shouldn't have-I shouldn't have done that," he mumbled, voice getting louder each time he repeated it. "That was stupid, I'm so stupid, oh why am I so stupid?"

"Virgil, you're not stupid," Logan tried to say, reaching out a hand to stop Virgil's pacing. Virgil jerked away from him, looking up at him and shaking his head frantically.

"I am! Did you not see what I just did?" He questioned, looking between the two of them.

"You kissed us," Patton answered, sharing a confused look with Logan. "Virgil it's okay, we don't care that you-"

"It's not about what you think!" Virgil shouted, immediately wincing at how harsh it sounded. He hadn't meant for it to come out that way. "I mean-it's just-what about Roman?"

Patton and Logan suddenly understood his concern, frowning and feeling unsure about how to help Virgil. They really didn't know what Roman might think of what was going on, and now that he was brought up they did feel guilty kissing when he had no idea. Patton looked at Virgil, desperate to think of something, anything to calm him.

"Virgil it's okay," he said, stepping closer hesitantly. "Everything will be okay, we'll figure this out, right?"

"What if he finds out?" Virgil continued pacing and voicing his anxious thoughts, ignoring Patton entirely. "He can't find out! I can't risk ending our relationship like this... I love him! What if he hates me? Oh god, he's going to hate me!"

"Virgil, calm down! Let's talk about this, it will be okay!" Patton insisted, trying to get him to stop walking without touching him-he doubted Virgil would be happy with any contact right now.

"No!" Virgil shouted, stopping his pacing and facing his friends. "I can't... this isn't okay! It's not going to be okay! I need-I need to go."

Virgil turned to leave, walking towards the side of the house so he could leave. Patton and Logan both followed him though, seeing no other choice than to grab his wrist to stop him. "Virgil, wait!"

"What?" Virgil asked, whirling around to face Patton. His cheeks were covered in tears still falling from his eyes, voice quivering as he spoke.

"You don't have to stay," Patton said, biting back tears of his own at seeing Virgil like this. "Just... don't walk home alone. It's dark out... I want you to be safe."

"I... I don't think I can stay with you guys," Virgil muttered, looking away from them. "I just need to get away, to think."

"That's okay," Logan butt in this time. "Maybe you could have one of Patton's parents drive you? That way we know you are safe."

Patton nodded quickly, looking back to Virgil to see his thoughts. He hesitantly agreed, and soon enough he was pulling out of the driveway in Patton's mom's car. Logan and Patton watched him leave without him saying a word to either of them. They felt terrible for everything that had happened. Even if it wasn't entirely there fault they wished that they could have just had a nice night together as friends. All they wanted was for things to go back to normal, but it seemed that doing so was incredibly difficult.

Patton turned to Logan after a while of standing in his driveway watching the place where Virgil had long since disappeared from. He threw his arms around him, face hiding in his chest as sobs shook his body. Logan held him back, chin resting on Patton's head as he held him close. He couldn't help that a few tears of his own fell, wishing that him and his friends could simply be happy.

The three of them all had to wonder why life had to be so complicated sometimes, and if it would ever truly work out for them.

And if you guys really know me, you should also know that I am an evil liar and it was a trick question-this chapter has both fluffy happiness and angst. You're welcome. Also, I wonder what'll happen when Roman gets back? Who knows.

Hahaha, anyways, while you're left with that I'm going to go now. Thanks for reading, let me know what you think about this chapter(and what you think might happen next!). Take care of yourselves. Bye!-Bob
