"But that's not possible. How are you alive--How do you feel?!" I ask, looking at Ink with a shocked expression plastered on my face.
"Let's just say that Error and I have one thing in common. We're both glitches, things that weren't meant to be," He frowns. "It's always been like this." He shrugs in a nonchalant way.
"Did you guys know?" I ask, turning to the others.
"Yeah," Dream nods sadly. "He told me when we first met, the same with Blue."
"But how do you feel?" I ask. "Emotions are kept in the soul, it's basic science. So... How?" I look at Ink curiously, awaiting an answer. He looks away.
"Artificially..." Ink closes his eyes and then taps the sash with the colourful paints tucked inside. "These, in other words." I can sense the sadness coming from him in waves, something I've never felt before. I wonder briefly if this feeling is constant for the painter, and it deepens my sadness to think of the poor skeleton feeling this way every moment of his life.
I look down at my shoes, and then smile in a sad way. "Well..." I say, looking up at him. Ink looks up slightly, but not completely. "I don't think differently of you. And you're not a glitch," I reassure him. He looks at me in a curious way, raising a bone-brow.
"Then what am I?" He asks, seeming suspicious of my answer.
"A miracle," I smile. Ink's face softens as he hears this, the words seeming to break through the depression he feels. "All of you are. Dream survived being turned to stone for many years, and Sans survived... the incident, though I'm pretty sure you know of that," I shrug. "And you're still alive, when you don't have a soul! That's pretty amazing to me." My smile broadens as a genuine smile appears on Ink's face. It makes me happy to see him smile in a genuine way.
Ink smiles, as do the rest of the team. "Thanks, Y/N..." Dream murmurs, placing a hand on my shoulder. "That means... That means a lot..." I nod.
¨Well, you guys are my friends, I don't want you feeling bad about yourselves," I shrug. "Plus, I just like seeing people smile, so I do my best." I say with a slight giggle.
"Oh, that reminds me... Uh, I know Nightmare is your enemy because he's Dream's brother and is a crazy psycho, but... the whole thing with Error, how did that happen?" I ask, looking from Sans and Dream to Ink, and back.
"Ah. That is a long story, and it's mostly me he wants... you see, he and I were once friends... but as you can tell, that ended a while ago," Ink explains briefly, shrugging. "My question is, what do we do now? We fought Nightmare, and he's obviously getting stronger. He wants Y/N, for reasons unbeknownst to us, so that makes things much more difficult." Ink places a hand on his chin, something he does when thinking, I've observed.
"Well, if my brother is indeed getting more powerful, then we're going to need to rethink this whole thing," Dream sighs, looking at the floor with a concerned look on his face.
"We can totally do that," I yawn, covering it with my hand and rubbing my eyes. "Tomorrow." Dream laughs softly and says,
"Here, I'll show you the guest bedroom." He takes my hand and walks up the stairs, leading me into a bedroom with a pretty (but simple) F/C color scheme. A bed sits in the middle of the room, with two windows on either side of it and a nightstand on it's left side. A bathroom sits to the right, and a dresser is conveniently placed beside the door.
"Oh, this is adorable!" I comment with a smile. "Thanks."
"You're welcome, Y/N," Dream smiles back to me. "I hope you sleep well. Goodnight," He waves and closes the door most of the way, leaving me to explore the room for myself. I walk to the bed and sit down, looking at the lamp on the nightstand. Pulling open the small drawer, I look inside. It's empty, so I close it and stretch my arms. With a yawn, I pull back the covers and lay down before covering myself with the fluffy blankets. I close my eyes and let myself fall asleep for the night.

"You can't hide from me, Y/N..."
The room I went to sleep in is dark. Everything looks like it's melting, and all of the furniture in the guest room is black. With a quiet whimper, I stand up and look around. I feel deep fear, and negativity radiates throughout the room. "Ink?" I ask. "Dream... S-Sans?"
"Oh..." A deep, brooding voice purrs from the darkness. "I'm afraid they aren't here... I am, though."
"And who... who a-are you?"
"Your worst nightmare."
"No..." I whisper, covering my mouth. "Y-You're Nightmare?!"
A figure lands behind me with a thump.
"The one and only~!" Nightmare purrs, holding his hands out to the side. "How can I be of service to you?"
"You can leave us all alone, forever!" I shout, anger-fueled tears pricking my eyes.
"I'm afraid I can't fulfill that request, Y/N," Nightmare puts on a fake pout and slumps his shoulders, as if to tease me. "Even if I could, you pretty much know I wouldn't." He smirks, crossing his arms. I stay silent for a while.
"But I have a request for you~!" Nightmare chirps in a sadistic way, almost if he enjoys my fear. I look at him sideways, afraid to let tears fall. "You tell Ink that I'm coming for his team, and that I won't stop until he, my brother, and that stupid abomination are on the ground, dead. And when that happens, I'll have a new member on my team." He snaps his fingers before I am able to respond.
Everything begins to fade to white.
"Buh-Bye, Y/N!"
I wake up in a pool of sweat, tears soaking my face. With a sob, I jump out of bed and run out of the door, turning the corner. I run into Ink's room and shake him out of sleep. "Ink!" I sob, shaking him harder. "Wake up!"
Ink sits up straight, his eyes in the form of question marks. "Huh?!" Ink asks, looking at me. "Y/N, what's wrong? Are you okay--did you see something?!" He stands up and places his hands on my shoulders.
"Night-Nightmare!" I cry. "He--He was in my dream, and he told me he wouldn't leave and--and--"
Ink pulls me into a hug. "Calm down. It's okay." He whispers.
"But... He---"
"What?" Ink asks, looking at me sternly.
"He said he won't stop until you're dead."
