ITS CLASS TRIAL PT2
I GOT NUN TO SAY
SO BUCKLE THE FUCK UP, CAUSE HERE WE GO!!!
~~
More and more people kept telling Monokuma to start the voting, ready to vote off Nagito. But, was voting Nagito really the right decision? Something felt off about all of it... He may have confessed to almost everything, but in your gut, it felt like you'd be making the wrong decision if you did vote him off. Monokuma was about to start the voting, until...
"P-P-Please wait!"
—
"P-P-Please wait!" The shrill, panicked voice of Mikan yelled.
"...Huh? The fuck?" Fuyuhiko sneered.
"U-Um, um...um... How should I put this...? Um..." Mikan stuttered nervously. "I-Is Nagito...*really* the killer?"
Your eyes snapped in her direction, somewhat surprised somewhat surprised someone had the same doubts as you. And if someone as shy, and timid as Mikan was actually speaking out about it... Then she must've had some evidence to back her up.
"Um... What are you saying? He's already confessed, hasn't he?" Teruteru uttered nervously.
"I-I already know that, but... Fngh... There's just something a little strange..." Mikan said.
"If it's only a little keep your mouth shut... Your ugly face is stressing me out. It makes me wanna puke." Hiyoko degraded, as you sent a stern look to the girl on your right.
"Hiyoko!" You spoke. "Don't talk to Mikan like that... Obviously if she's speaking up about Nagito not being the killer then she must have some evidence. Let's hear her out."
"Hmph... Fine, pig-barf can speak... But only because Big Sis (F/N) said so! Otherwise, I'd make sure to sew your mouth shut so I can never hear your ugly voice again, Mikan!" Hiyoko threatened, as Mikan yelped in fear, apologizing numerous times.
"B-But why do we need to hear what she has to say...?" Teruteru asked, fear evident in his voice. "We already know who the killer is..."
"We are going to let Mikan speak... And we are going to listen... Got it!?" You stated sternly. "I'm certain it's something useful." Mikan looked at you, almost starstruck that you were doing so much to defend her, even if she was insecure in what she wanted to say. You gave her a soft look and a head nod, basically saying 'go on...'. She let out a tiny cough, before continuing.
"R-R-Right... I-I think it's strange that..." She started, gulping as she tried to export her words.
"What the hell is strange about any of this? That bastard Nagito is the one who did it!" Fuyuhiko yelled. "He killed Byakuya with the knife he hid!"
"You're wrong. The knife isn't the murder weapon. And MAYBE, if you didn't INTERRUPT MIKAN, you would obviously see why." You told.
"The hell are you talking about...? It's obvious the knife was the murder weapon." Fuyuhiko stated.
"Yeah, well, if you actually did some investigating, you would've been informed of her autopsy report." You rebuttled, as Fuyuhiko grimaced.
"R-Right... Based on the entry wounds on Byakuya's body, the actual weapon should be rough five millimeters in diameter..." Mikan informed.
"Five millimeters in diameter...?" Fuyuhiko asked. "So something like...a needle?" He suggested, as he slightly eyed you.
"Y-Yes! S-Something as skinny as a needle could work!" Mikan exclaimed.
"...Doesn't (F/N) work with needles?" Fuyuhiko mused, startling you.
"Yeah... I do... What's that supposed to mean?" You asked.
"Well don't pretend you don't know what I'm saying, you whore!" Fuyuhiko yelled.
"A-Are you...accusing Miss (F/N)!?" Kazuichi yelled.
"Of course I am!" Fuyuhiko yelled back in response.
"How would I be the killer?" You quizzed.
"You work with needles, don't you?" Fuyuhiko interrogated. "Based on Mikan just told us, the murder weapon is really skinny. And, needles are really skinny. It'd make sense if you were the killer since you probably have needles on hand."
"Okay, true, but how would I have been able to bring a needle inside the old building?" You quizzed. "Byakuya gave everyone a pat down before he allowed them to enter... And he was not shy when giving those pat downs."
"But still...there are multiple ways you could've hidden a needle..." Teruteru spoke, as you gave him a sided glare. "You could've hidden it in your shoe...!... Or your stockings...your bra...maybe even in those cute panties you wear..."
You visibly shivered, and fully covered yourself in your jacket, before clearing your throat.
"I-If... ANY of that were to be the case, wouldn't I have poked myself or something of the sorts? Byakuya most likely would've felt something in my stockings when he was giving me a pat down." You stated, "And, if I were to hide it in my shoe, how would I have managed to get it out of my shoe fast enough to kill Byakuya in the time span he died in?"
"Well...what about the other things Teruteru said?" Nagito said, almost teasing you.
"Do you... Do you actually think I am going to talk about those possibilities?" You grimaced.
"Well, then doesn't that make you a suspect? You're refusing to talk about the other possibilites Teruteru mentioned." Fuyuhiko said.
"I... Fine, make me a suspect then." You groaned.
"What the hell? Why am I on the suspicion list!? This wasn't meant to happen..." You thought. "Teruteru needs to step down from his podium for saying that stuff, especially when he had his perverted intentions in mind..."
"Well...is there anything else we need to address now?" Nagito chimed in. "I believe we've done all we can right now..."
"What are you saying...?" Sonia questioned, hesitantly.
"There's nothing left to talk about." Nagito shrugged. "We've talked about everything we can..."
"...Hey Nagito... Are you still hiding something?" Chiaki spoke up.
"Hiding...?" Hajime asked.
"Like, during the blackout... Did something happen between you and Byakuya that we don't know about...?" Chiaki continued.
"Who knows...~" Nagito rung.
"...After all this, what else do you intend to hide?" Gundam uttered, while Nagito stayed silent.
"Jeez, the moment your back's against the wall, you get all silent. You piss me off!" Hiyoko exclaimed.
"What happened during the blackout...? Hmm...hmmmmmmm..." Ibuki hummed, closing her eyes and pointing both her hands to her head. "Ah! If you cross your eyes like this, it gives you doublevision!"
"Don't get distracted! Our lives are at stake, you know!" Kazuichi yelled.
"Huh? Who's life is at stake?" Akane asked.
"Seriously, how long is it gonna take for you to understand the damn rules!?" Kazuichi yelled, again.
"Nobody can see in the dark... No mater how hard you think about it, the truth is beyond your sight..." Nagito started. "Don't you think that's a pretty clever metaphor, despite the fact that it came from me?"
"No...there's definitely some way we were able to figure out what was happening in the dark." Hajime said, as you looked at him, a small smirk growing on your face. He slightly smiled back, as Nagito asked what he meant. "Even if we couldn't see what happened in the dark... I'm pretty sure someone could've heard it."
"Isn't that right, Ibuki?" You asked, now facing the Ultimate Musician.
"Fo' reeeeaaaalz!?" She exclaimed.
"You were the one that told us, remember? How everyone was shouting during the blackout..." Hajime said. Ibuki then nodded, and gave a small recap of what she had heard.
"Such perceptive hearing! Impressive! I'd expect no less from the Ultimate Musician!" Nagito praised.
"It's a good thing your ears are awesome because your face, style, figure and personality totally suck." Hiyoko mocked innocently, as you furrowed your eyebrows.
"She is very gorgeous to me-" You thought, as Ibuki simply ignored Hiyoko's insults.
"However, after hearing what Byakuya and Nagito both said in the dark... 'What the hell!? What's going on here!?', 'T-This is...!?' and 'Ow!' are all quite suspicious..."
"It's almost like... Nagito and Byakuya had a small fight under the table..." You muttered, as you looked at the boy in questioning.
"Well, that's actually what happened." He confirmed, somewhat shocking you, even though you were the one to suggest it. "As a sign of respect for Ibuki's talent...I have a small confession to make." Nagito said.
"I was actually shoved out from under the table by Byakuya." Nagito confessed, as some small pieces clicked in your mind.
"So with the force Byakuya threw Nagito out from under the table, it just so happened I had taken the amount of steps back where Nagito and I were able to collide... and that's how Nagito managed to fall on...top of me..." You thought, looking back at Nagito.
"Just as the blackout occurred, I hurried to duck under the table and grab the knife...but Byakuya, wearing his night vision-goggles, caught me and shoved me right out from under the table." Nagito explained. "That's right...I'm so incompetent that I couldn't even grab the knife..."
"It certainly sounds plausible..." You murmured.
"After getting shoved our from under the table, I was just as confused as you guys. I lost sight of the glowing paint, and I didn't even know where the power cord was... Before I realized it, the lights had come back on and Byakuya's body was lying under the table..." Nagito confessed.
"H-Hold on!" Mahiru yelled. "Are you saying you're *not* the killer?"
"From the very beginning, the idea to throw a party, hiding the knife, setting up the blackout... It was all going according to plan." Nagito said. "But unfortunately, my plan failed. And all thanks to Byakuya's night vision-goggles. What happened after that...even I don't know."
"Y-You failed...? Th-The you're you're not the one who killed Byaluya?" Fuyuhiko strained.
"Th-Then we're right back to square one!" Hiyoko squealed.
"How can that be!? We've spent all this time talking back and forth!" Nekomaru panicked.
"Meaningless... What other word is brimming with so much despair..." Nagito uttered. "But you can't give up! You need to have hope, do your best and move forward! Rising to the challenge again and again is why you guys are the symbols of hope!"
"Well, we just debunked that Nagito can't be the killer... But I have no idea what the fuck is going on with him." You thought. "I'm pretty sure it's Teruteru, but the evidence right now for him being the killer is minimal... Maybe, Nagito has some information that none of us know, considering he was basically the one that set up the crime... Let's hope he helps us..."
"Well, what now?" Nagito asked. "If the knife isn't the murder weapon, there's no definitive proof that I'm the killer."
"Sh-Shut up! We'll be the judge of that!" Mahiru yelled angrily.
"Y-You say you were shoved away, but...you can't actually prove it, right?" Teruteru said.
"That's right... Even if a different weapon was used, it does not mean Nagito has been cleared of suspicion!" Gundam stated.
"B-But...there's another reason why I don't think Nagito is the killer..." Mikan uttered, as Teruteru exclaimed in shock. "Based on what we've discussed... Byakuya was killed under the table, right?"
"Is there something wrong with that?" Sonia pondered aloud.
"Well... Even if that's true, I feel Nagito looks... you know...clean..." Mikan said.
"Nobody's ever complimented me on my appearance before! Not even my own mother!" Nagito beamed happily.
"Nyehhh...I'm not talking about your looks!" Mikan corrected.
"You're trying to say it's because Nagito has no traces of blood on him, right?" You asked.
"Y-Yes! That's it!" Mikan exclaimed. "Because...under the table, there was a lot of blood splattered everywhere, right? There were even bloodstains on the inside of the tablecloth..."
"If he stabbed Byakuya to death, it's strange he did not get splattered with an appropriate amount of blood..." Peko observed.
"I didn't get any blood on me? That *is* weird, heh." Nagito chuckled.
"You just used somethin' to block the blood, didn't ya!?" Akane accused angrily.
"Something that might've been used to block the blood splatter... What do you think it could've been?" Nagito asked, almost teasingly.
"You mean the tablecloth covered in blood that was in the storage room...right?" You responded.
"If there are bloodstains on it, that settles it! Nagito used the tablecloth to block the blood splatter!" Fuyuhiko yelled, making you roll your eyes.
"But that was found in the storage room, right? Are you suggesting he hid it there after the murder?" Gundam quizzed.
"You mean after the lights came back on? What would he have done if we'd seen him?" Nekomaru followed up.
"That's true... The tablecloth was pretty big, so even if you tried to hide it and take it with you..." Hajime said.
"Wearing a tablecloth, going under the table, getting a knife in a blackout, and stabbing someone..." Nagito murmured. "That's not just impossible for someone like me... Wouldn't it also be impossible for you guys, too?"
"Th-Then...what does it mean...?" Teruteru asked.
"...Maybe...the killer didn't necessarily stab Byakuya *under* the table." Chiaki suggested. You met her eyes as you had a fair idea of what she was saying.
"No, there's no mistake that the murder occurred under that table." Gundam stated.
"Even the inside of the tablecloth was bloody...so there's no denying Byakuya was killed there." Mikan said.
"But that doesn't really mean where Byakuya got stabbed and where the killer did the stabbing are the same...right?" Chiaki explained. "(F/N)...you know what I'm talking about, right?" You nodded.
"But I don't understand at all!" Ibuki yelled.
"I-It feels like a riddle...!" Teruteru panicked.
"I feel like I'm onto something... But I'm not completely sure..." Hajime strained.
"Well...think of it this way." You started. "Byakuya got killed under the table...but not *stabbed* under the table... It's possible, and it's the only thing that can make sense here!"
"I got it! The killer must've stabbed Byakuya from under the floorboards!" Hajime yelled in understanding, as you smiled proudly at him.
"U-Under the floorboards!?" Mahiru stuttered in surprise.
"The floorboards in the building are full of gaps, and there was no carpet laid out under the table." Hajime explained. "If they stuck the weapon through one of the gaps, they could've stabbed Byakuya to death."
"If so, that means the killer was able to get under the floorboards. But from where? And how?" Nagito asked.
"Hmm..." You thought, before looking at the male on your left. "Gundam, you dropped your Hell Hound Earring in the dining hall, through the floorboards, correct?" You asked. Gundam smirked proudly.
"Why yes, Fallen Angel, your mind is as sharp as ever." He said, snickering shortly thereafter. "Kehehe... Just a bit longer and I would have reduced everything, including that old building, to ashes..." Gundam stated, almost proudly. "However, it's just as the old legend said! The Hell Hound Earring has returned to its owner, to me!"
(don't do arson kids)
"O-Okay... And I noticed before we all entered Monokuma Rock, it was the one hanging off your right ear." You said. "When I talked to you during the investigation, you were just looking for you earring, and that's where you found it under the floorboard. And, since you have it back, that means you managed to find a way underneath the floorboards during the investigation."
"So...Gundam must have found a way to get under the floorboards." Peko said.
"Kehehe... It's understandable. All of you mortals only view the world through eyes of glass..." Gundam stated. "But I am different! With the power of my Four Dark Devas of Destruction, it is of no concern!"
As much as you wanted to laugh at the proud reveal of his hampsters... Now wasn't the time. Gundam was still rambling on about the 'Fourth Evil Eye'.
"Okay... Gundam, would you *please* mind telling us where you found a way under the floorboards?" You asked sweetly.
"F-Fine, as the Angel speaks for you all... The way I found under the floorboards was in the storage room!" Gundam revealed. "One of my Four Dark Devas of Destruction... Mirage Golden Hawk, Jum-P, has seen beyond the chaos. A Secret Passage of Doom leading to the underground lurk beneath a large assortment of random boxes... After securing a lighter from the supermarket, I threw caution to the wind and ventured below the floorboards. And as a result of that lonesome battle... I was able to recover the Hell Hound Earring with my own two hands!" Gundam told. "Fuhaha! Tremble with fear, fools! Behold my power!"
"There he goes blabbing about power and crap... You're ridiculous! You're just a breeder, y'know!" Hiyoko jeered.
"Stop it." You scolded through gritted teeth. "So, the way under the floorboards is through the storage room." You repeated.
"Then that has to be how the killer did it." Chiaki stated. "If the space beneath the floor is empty, it's not that far to move from the storage room to the dining hall."
"I see... If they passed through the storage room, I understand why the tablecloth was put there." Nekomaru said.
"The killer lurked under the floorboards during the party and from there... 'stab stab stab!'" Ibuki said, emphasizing the stabs.
"Hm? Are you sure?" Teruteru asked.
"You don't like 'stab stab stab'...? Should it sound more fleshy like '*splat shank stab!*'?" Ibuki acted, over exaggerating the stabbing noises she elicited.
"No, I'm not talking about your sound effects..." Teruteru responded. "You're saying they snuck under the floorboards, but that means they would've had to leave the party, right? So...was there anyone who was able to do that?"
"Then whoever wasn't at the party is the killer. They must be the one who was waiting under the floorboards." Hiyoko stated.
"...Who wasn't at the party again?" Akane asked.
"I didn't participate, but... I was guarding the entrance, remember? Monomi over there can be my witness...right?" Chiaki said, as you looked over to Monomi.
"Yes, this Monomi over here us your witness!" She said.
"I believe there's no need to discuss this matter further, but...I was unable to leave the bathroom..." Peko said, apprehensively.
"I was in the kitchen for a long time, but I frequently went to the dining hall to deliver my dishes." Teruteru claimed.
"Um... The only person who wasn't at the party..." Mahiru trailed off. "Judging from the photo I took before the blackout... It obviously has to be him." Mahiru finished, as she obviously referenced to Fuyuhiko, who was the only one who wasn't at the party. The latter remained silent.
"Yay, it's decided!" Hiyoko cheered from right next to you.
"Wh-What the fuck are you saying!? I'm not the killer!" Fuyuhiko raged.
"Yeah I have to agree, I seriously doubt Fuyuhiko is the killer. There's really no evidence that he is the killer." You said.
"(F/N), what are you saying!? It obviously has to be Fuyuhiko!" Mahiru argued. "H-He even tried to shoot you that one night!"
"First of all, I'm the one who even instigated that whole scenario so it wasn't his fault at all, and secondly, he couldn't have made his way inside the old building in the first place." You stated.
"Ooo~, this is getting juicy!" Monokuma chimed, annoyingly.
"Well, Big Sis (F/N), during the party, the killer was lurking under the floor like a cockroach." Hiyoko said.
"Then they could've been staring panties all day without going to the storage room in the dark!" Teruteru exclaimed, making you slightly shiver on your stand.
"Is that true, Fuyuhiko!?" Ibuki mused.
"Don't act like I'm the fuckin' killer!" He yelled.
"But when the party started, nobody saw you, you know?" Mahiru said. "That means you have no alibi!"
"You're wrong!" You stated. "Fuyuhiko definitely has an alibi... Right, Chiaki?" You faced the gamer.
"Um... Oh, you're right." Her soft-spoken voice said. "I saw Fuyuhiko after the party started. There's no way he could've been waiting under the floor before then."
"You should've said that earlier, dumbass..." Fuyuhiko grumbled under his breath from stands away, making you slightly smirk.
"It's still your fault. Like...why were you even lurking around the old building in the first place?" Mahiru accused.
"Mahiru, it's really not important right now." You tried to stop the female.
"Don't tell me you're trying to make amends with him right now...!" She exclaimed, making you sigh, exasperated.
"I-I'm not to make amends!" You responded. "I'm trying to figure out who killed Byakuya! Cause accusing Fuyuhiko was honestly a waste of time."
"But, maybe there really is a secret passage to go under the floorboards from outside, and he came to spy." Teruteru said.
"What'd you say, motherfucker!?" Fuyuhiko yelled, making Teruteru laugh almost euphorically in response.
"Wow, he got chowed out, but he looks super happy!" Hiyoko mentioned, making you roll your eyes.
"Regardless, it's impossible to go under the floorboards from outside. Chiaki and I, along with the help of the Angel, already confirmed that..." Gundam mentioned.
"Then someone definitely went under the floorboards through the storage room during the party." Sonia said.
"During the party... It was probably during the blackout..." Mikan uttered.
"Well, if someone disappeared during the blackout, no one would've noticed." Chiaki conveyed.
"But walking down that dark hallway to the storage room is like trying to make eggs benedict without any eggs!" Teruteru put across.
"You're right... I couldn't even see the office in that darkness, and that room was much closer..." Kazuichi mentioned.
You bit your lip. "Are we...sure, it's impossible?" You said. "Maybe, if we examine it a little more, we can figure something out."
"It was super dark, y'know? There's no way you'd be able to find your way to the storage room!" Ibuki confessed.
"It appears...we're getting close to the final stage..." Nagito spoke out. "The blackened, or the spotless... Which is superior...? I think it's time to settle this."
"Well, the hallway was really dark during the blackout!" Teruteru expressed. "Moving to the storage room like that... It's like making a seafood bowl without fish!"
"Is it really not possible?" Chiaki conveyed.
"What if they used a string like the cord?" Nekomaru suggested.
"Maybe there was another pair of night-vision goggles?" Hiyoko said.
"What a pain, I'm gonna go with my gut." Akane spoke out. "What if they used a light?"
"Akane, I think you're right!" You exclaimed. "The killer had a light with them!"
"Oh, I was right!?" She beamed, proudly.
"But where could they have found a light?" Ibuki mused.
"There was definitely one they could've used. In fact, it's on the kitchen's equipment list." You informed. "It's the portable stove. It isn't powered by electricity, and it's small enough to carry around. So, the killer most likely used a portable stove to move from the hallway to the storage room during the blackout!"
"I see... I never considered the portable stove, but there's some holes wrong with your argument." Nagito piped.
"Holes? What kind of holes?" Teruteru asked. "It would be great if you could explain all her holes... in vast detail." You shivered, until Teruteru suddenly turned back to normal. "W-Wait! I wasn't making a perverted joke or anything! It's really not a perverted joke! I'm-I'm serious!"
"Repeating yourself just makes it even more suspicious!" Mahiru yelled.
"Now then, (F/N), will you battle against me?" Nagito asked you, luckily distracting you from Teruteru's statements.
"Oh I would be delighted." You smirked.
"Will you be able to break through my argument?" He quizzed. "Did you forget what Kazuichi said earlier?"
"Remind me, if you would." You prompted.
"He said the hallway was too dark to see the office." He said.
"Well, I obviously don't doubt that. It was a blackout, and it seemed that most of the windows were boarded up with thick, heavy metal plates." You consented.
"Well, if you actually consider the possibility of the light from the portable stove being used, it would actually contradict your testimony. Everyone would've been able to see the light." Nagito smirked. "Or are you intentionally doubting his testimony, perhaps as a way to cover up your own tracks?" Nagito smirked even harder, as you saw an almost pleading glance from Kazuichi. You knew that Kazuichi really hoped you weren't the murderer, especially with the small suspicion still on your back.
"Once again, I'm absolutely sure what he said was true." You affirmed, as you saw from the corner of your eye that the said male you were agreeing with seemed extremely happy with you consensus. "But what the hell are you trying to say!?"
"If a light was shining in such a dark hallway... Wouldn't Kazuichi have seen it?" Nagito said.
"He would've, but there's an obvious reason he wasn't able to." You said. "Nagito, did you forget it, or are you pretending to forget? I hope it's not the latter, or else I'd be sad if you were doing so to make me feel better about myself." You fake pouted, as Nagito chuckled.
"Well, a lowlife such as myself could never lie to someone as magnificent as you." He responded, chuckling more as he stared directly into your eyes.
"Well, there's a specific wall that blocks light... I'm referring to the fire door in the hallway. Right next to the kitchen." You said, extenuating the word kitchen. "If you closed the fire door, it would create a perfect wall in the hallway. Plus...the hallway rounds a corner just beyond the fire door. Thus, if there was even a small gap in said door, as long as they pass the corner, no light would be seen."
"I see... To actually notice the fire door... Such attention to detail comes to someone as amazing as you...not to mention, you're even an Ultimate." Nagito smiled.
"Nagito, what are you plotting? For someone who insists he's not the killer, you are quite nosy." Peko interjected accusingly.
"You sound so scary. If you're that angry, why don't you take a deep breath...?" Nagito suggested, almost as if he was trying to patronize the swordswoman.
"You sure like to piss us off! How about I shut your fuckin' mouth for you!?" Fuyuhiko threatened.
"Heeeey! It's okay if you guys fight, but I won't allow a burly brawl that might offend people!" Monokuma asserted. "More importantly, can you hurry up and decide who's the blackened already? Time runs out when I get bored."
"Fine, I get it... You're telling me to pass the torch, right?" Nagito said.
"P-Pass the torch?" Sonia stuttered.
"We're going to ask the real killer, not some imposter like me, to show themselves!" Nagito stated.
"Hmph...! You're obviously the killer, right?" Nekomaru asked.
"If you think I am...I really don't mind." Nagito smiled. "Whatever conclusion you Ultimates arrive at, I will accept it, no matter what it is."
To decide the real killer...the one who used the portable stove from the kitchen, used the fire door to sneak to the storage room, go under the floorboards, used the glowing paint as a mark...and killed Byakuya.
You inhaled greatly, as you looked directly at the person you were suspicious of the entire time.
"Teruteru... Are you the killer?" You uttered. It took him a few seconds to register, before he went into a cold sweated panic.
"Huh!? What!? What are you talking about!?" He exclaimed.
"T-Teruteru's the killer... Is that true!?" Mahiru gasped.
"Wh-What are you talking about! There's no way!" Teruteru yelled.
"Actually, it's extremely likely." You stated. "I didn't know there was a kitchen in the old building until I went inside. When I was investigating the crime scene, I noticed the knife next to Byakuya's body. I knew that it could've only come from the outside, which is why I originally suspected Nagito of the killer, but the idea of you being the killer wasn't strictly off the table. Plus, the kitchen and the fire door are right next to each other, as I said when we were discussing that fact. It makes extreme sense for you to have able to navigate your way to the storage room, used the glowing paint as a mark for directly under the table, and killed Byakuya with a weapon that would fit the permitters of Mikan's autopsy report." You explained, in depth detail. "But, of course, it's simply a hunch, feel free to object."
"O-Objection or not... Why am I being treated like the killer...?" He questioned.
"We all were in suspect of being the killer since the very beginning. Others have also been treated as the killer. It's now your time." You said, plainly.
"Y-You're cruel! Sososo cruel!" Teruteru cried. "W-W-What about you!? You could be the killer you know!"
"Would you please explain how then? I'm aware I had suspicion put on my back since Fuyuhiko mentioned my working with needles, but with everything else that's been discussed, my chances of actually *being* the killer have more than likely decreased dramatically more than increased." You expressed.
"Well... Wasn't your piercing at the scene of the crime!?" Teruteru yelled, shocking you greatly.
"Hold on hold on hold on hold on-" You rambled, shaking your hands in front of you. "W-What *piercing*!? I never saw any piercing."
"Well, you could just be lying..." Fuyuhiko spoke, making you scoff.
"Well, you didn't actually investigate the crime scene, or anything for that matter, so I don't really think you have a say in this right now." "Fuck I definitely screwed up saying that-" You thought.
"S-See! You're getting hostile, and defensive! You could one-hundred percent be the killer!" Teruteru yelled.
You clenched your fists as you took a deep breath, relaxing your posture and trying to make sure your next words didn't come out as hostile.
"Sorry... Would you mind telling me where you found the said... 'piercing'?" You exhaled.
"Well, uh... It was also near Byakuya's body..." Hajime answered. You could tell by the tone of voice, he felt somewhat guilty for potentially suspecting you. "It was actually right near the knife we found."
At that, you then remembered that one extremely small piece of metal you found, in the shape of a slightly fuller crescent. You had no idea that was meant to be a piercing...! Now it makes sense as to why Teruteru called you out for your 'piercing'. To the simple eye, something with the general shape and size of a piercing could easily be mistaken as one. But, obviously per your talent, you *knew* that wasn't a piercing.
Now, only to convince them that it wasn't a piercing was your current obstacle.
"Do you mean that small metal crescent?" You asked, as Hajime nodded. "That wasn't a piercing."
"Y-You could be lying!!" Teruteru yelled.
"No, I'm not. I remember seeing that metal scrap when I was investigating the crime scene, but I didn't know what it was at the time." You explained.
"Well, (F/N), isn't it obviously a piercing? It looks like one." Nagito said, almost teasing you.
"Are you really trying to tell the Ultimate Body Modificationist what a *piercing* looks like?" You guffawed. "Using piercings and needles of sorts is my entire reason for being here."
"From afar, or to the slightly untrained eye, a shape like what those of you who investigated saw may look like a piercing. But, it's not." You explained. "What I think is that someone is trying to frame me."
"But can you really prove that?" Fuyuhiko asked.
"Well, I don't know the intentions of what the person who wanted to frame me, by trying to recreate a type of 'piercing'... But I can one hundred percent debunk that it isn't one." You explained.
"Well, beloved Body Modificationist, please tell us why it isn't." Nagito smiled.
"The shape of the so called *piercing* is something that gives away what the intent of it is supposed to look like." You started. "It can't be any type of ear piercings, because ear piercings are always either studs, hooks, or hoops. It obviously isn't a stud or hook, so you would most likely see it as a hoop. However, hoops usually have actual part that goes inside the ear, and what those of you who saw it, it didn't have it. There's no way it could be my naval piercing, my naval piercing looks completely different, and was quite thicker. My eyebrow piercings aren't in that style, for they're somewhat in the same style as my naval. I don't have any side nose pierces that are in the hoop shapes, and it *obviously* can't be my tongue piercing." You explained in depth detail, slightly sticking your tongue out at the end to show everyone the piece of metal sticking through your tongue.
"Isn't there one you're still missing? I know someone as worthless as me shouldn't be manhandling you about your expertise... But you're forgetting about the one that's also on your nose." Nagito said.
"My septum, of course." You said. "Well, it also can't be my septum because it's *also* the one I have in right now." You chuckled, pointing to the ring of metal hanging from the center of your nose. "It can't be my septum, because if it were my septum, it wouldn't be in my nose at this very moment."
"Then how do you explain your piercing being at the scene of the crime!?" Teruteru accused.
"It's exactly as I said before, it's because it isn't one." You stated. "I've given you all of my evidence as to why it can't be, and there's no way I'm wrong. This is...literally what I do for a living."
"Then what could it have been?" Nekomaru asked.
"What I'm about to ask if...probably unlikely, but... Does anyone have it, by any chance?" You asked.
"Actually... I do happen to have it." Nagito spoke.
"Of course." "Might I see it, please?" You asked, as Nagito graciously consented, and passed you the crescent shaped scrap of metal. Immediately, you carefully held it by the ends, and attempted to pull it out. Almost instantaneously, it did, and you snorted upon realization as to what it was.
"Whoever tried to frame me did one hell of a job..." You chuckled, holding the metal between you thumb and pointer finger. "Because this is a piece of a paper clip."
"Is it really, (F/N)!?" Sonia gasped.
"Yes, it is. I can easily tell by the way it bends so easily." You started. "Proper piercings aren't supposed to bend this easily. If it was a good type of sterile metal, used for proper piercing, it shouldn't bend." You explained. "Paperclip piercings are used by middle school girls who want to prove to people that they're 'edgy' because they decided to puncture their skin with a dull metal point that will eight out of ten times get infected. Obviously, coming from me and my profesional background with these things, there's no way it can be mine."
"My my, such amazing reasoning coming from our amazing Ultimate Body Modifcationist!" Nagito praised.
"Yeah yeah, she may have proved that the metal piece isn't hers... But couldn't she have still committed the murder?" Fuyuhiko pronounced. "She still uses needles, doesn't she?"
"But how would (F/N) have been able to get under the floorboards during the party?" Hajime asked. "There's no way she would've been able to navigate herself to the storage room in the pitch darkness."
"B-B-But based on Mahiru's diagram, she was also closest to the end of the table, she was at the very top of the most upper right food table!" Teruteru exclaimed. "If she had only taken some steps back, then she could've navigated herself across the table and stabbed Byakuya with a needle she could've had!"
"...You're aware my needles aren't that long, right?" You uttered.
"They aren't?...How long are they? How long do you like them~?" Teruteru asked, as you mentally died.
"AHEM- On average, my *needles* are from one and one-half inches to three inches... They aren't long enough or sharp enough to make their way to Byakuya's internal organs in his esophagus... If I actually did kill him, wouldn't they have most likely gotten lodged in his fat layers? Doing so, wouldn't Mikan have found them?"
"But you can't *prove* that they can't... Can you?" Nagito contended, making direct eye-contact with you. You bit your lip, until you had an important revelation.
You sighed, over exaggeratedly as you reached into your pocket and pulled out that small bag of piercing equipment you always decided to carry around.
Listen, this is some main character type shit, okay? The main character always has the most random, unnecessary stuff with them on hand exactly when it's most convenient. And, that's right now!
"I guess I can't..." You sulked sarcastically, as you pulled out a needle and a lighter.
"What the fuck are you doing...?" Fuyuhiko asked, confused, as Hiyoko seemed to have the widest eyes you had ever seen on anyone had ever seen, accompanied by a wide, wide grin.
"Well... There's absolutely no way I can prove that the needles can't actually inflict serious damage on a person." You said, as you put the lighter away and got a small stud from the small bag you had.
With a small countdown down from three, which you muttered under your breath... You punctured the other side of your nose that didn't already have. Easily, you transferred the small stud into your nose, as you upturned your eyes to the group once again.
Most everyone had shocked expressions, while Nagito had one of udder adoration.
"Wow! A truly amazing display of the Ultimate Body Modificationist's talents! Breathtaking!" Nagito gasped in pure love.
"Y-You just..." Hajime gaped.
"Pierced myself in order to prove my innocence? Yes. Yes I did." You smiled.
"The purest form of the Angel's capabilities... Such blessed abilities cannot come from a mere mortal... Why expose yourself, Fallen Angel!?" Gundam exclaimed.
"You're fuckin' insane..." Fuyuhiko uttered.
"If the new definition of 'insane' is proving my innocence despite the fact that there are multiple reasons I can't be the killer, yet you still think I am... I guess I am insane." You shrugged.
"B-But you didn't have to pierce yourself... You could've just showed us the needle!" Kazuichi yelled.
"Oh that would've been so much easier-" "Okay I was probably gonna pierce the other side of my nose regardless... The sooner the better." You chuckled.
"B-But that proves that you had a needle on you!" Teruteru yelled.
"But, the needle was in her jacket pocket... And, (F/N) said her jacket got confiscated by Byakuya at the beginning of the party." Chiaki said. "Plus, like she said, her needle is pretty small, and it's definitely not long enough to reach Byakuya's organs."
"But, m-maybe she could've used something else...?" Teruteru uttered, making you laugh.
"Oh you are reaching so hard... It's honestly hilarious." You mused. "Mind explaining what I could've done then?"
"W-Well... Considering that you were *also* closest to the opposite end of the table from the upper right table... Y-You could've taken enough steps back to reach the table, pulled out a weapon a-and then stab Byakuya!" Teruteru yelled, panic evident in his voice.
"But would've have Byakuya seen (F/N) pull out a weapon as well?" Peko asked. "It seemed that he only saw Nagito go for the knife that he had hidden under the table in advance."
"B-B-But maybe he didn't!" Teruteru yelled again. "S-So she managed to stab Byakuya!"
"Then how would Byakuya's body managed to make it's way under the table?" Gundam quizzed. "The Angel and Nagito most likely crossed paths into each other at that point."
"So that means they didn't!" Teruteru concluded. "(F-F/N) managed to stab Byakuya with a secret weapon she stored, managed to get away with it, and has been manipulating you this whole time!"
"No, that's wrong!" Hajime yelled. "You said that Nagito and (F/N) never crossed paths, but that's incorrect."
"W-W-What!?" Teruteru stuttered.
"As I can recall... Nagito's and (F/N)'s paths *did* cross. I know this because...after the lights came on, I saw Nagito... O-On top of (F/N)." Hajime managed to say, as your face heated up at the memory.
"I forgot that HAPPENED-" You mentally screamed, as you saw Nagito in the same state you were in.
"Nagito... Is that true!?" Mahiru exclaimed.
Nagito let out a sigh. "Yes... It did." He chuckled
"What is wrong with you!? Taking advantage of her like that! You're disgusting!!" Mahiru yelled.
"Hey, Nagito... How did it look on top of her? Did she look...vulnerable?" Teruteru spewed, as his eyes widened and his own breathing got heavy. "Or...did you want to be on the bottom instead~?"
Loudly, you let out an awkward laugh.
"THIS...This proves my innocence, right?" You said, moving your hands around. "On top of...everything else?"
"I'd say it does... Miss (F/N) isn't the murder, s-so stop accusing her!" Kazuichi yelled at Teruteru, who yelped.
"Why is the fact that proves my innocence is that Nagito fell on top of me? That makes no sense, but at least the suspicion is off of me now. And, with all of Teruteru's hard accusing, it makes even more sense for him to be the killer." You thought.
"And (F/N), out of respect for you... I have a confession to make." Nagito spoke, as you looked to meet his eyes. "I'm the one who tried to frame you... I made the makeshift piercing beforehand, and tried to frame you with it... How it managed to not fall through the cracks of the floor? I guess it's just my luck..." He chuckled, before turning to the quivering chef. "But Teruteru... Tsk, I'm disappointed. This attitude is so unlike you... For the Ultimate Cook to get so upset..."
"Call me 'Chef'..." Teruteru huffed.
"If you fall to aspersions like this, how will be there to support the future of the culinary arts?" Nagito postulated.
"Th-The future of the culinary arts...?" Teruteru uttered.
"That's right. For the future of the culinary arts, you must face this and fight it fair and square." Nagito stated.
"Y-You're right... Yeah...that's totally right...!" Teruteru exclaimed.
"So what's an 'aspersion' anyway? Is it yummy?" Akane asked, grinning.
(akane is literally best girl don't even try and change my mind lol n e ways)
"Did you know asbestos is yummy, too? You should try some later!" Hiyoko smirked.
"Nagito... Why are you interfering!?" Hajime yelled.
"Let's assume that the killer used a light, and that they used the fire door to mask that light... And then they moved to the storage room and snuck under the floorboards. Then what?" Nagito mused, completely ignoring Hajime. "It's dark under the floorboards too, so how would they be able to stab Byakuya?" Nagito asked. "You're not gonna say they shined the light on Byakuya, right? The plan would've been ruined if he noticed."
"Th-That's right... What do you think about that!?" Teruteru yelled.
"There's no way you can answer, right? You personally haven't investigated what's beneath the floorboards." Nagito said.
"If that's the case then Gundam should know! He actually went under the floorboards!" Mahiru chimed.
"No... Unfortunately, there was nothing related to the incident under the floorboards..." Gundam said, making you sigh.
"Aw fuck- Was there really *nothing* under the floorboards...!?" You asked once more.
"I-I do apologize, Angel..." Gundam said, sorrowful, as he began to pull up some of his scarf to his face. "The only thing I found was a strange liquid, shining in the darkness, near where Byakuya's blood was dripping."
"Hold on...!? A shining liquid in the dark?" You asked, as he nodded. "That's...actually something! If there was a mark like that, then the person under the floorboards would've been able to navigate themselves in the dark."
"And in doing so, it might've been possible for them to use that park to target the victim." Chiaki spoke.
"And that said mark is the glowing paint that we found applied to the knife, and the duct tape." You stated.
"Ah! By using the glowing paint as a target, they were able to judge where to stab even in the dark!" Nekomaru exclaimed.
"I see... The killer didn't target an actual person, they just struck the moment the glowing paint moved!" Hiyoko said.
"That would be the moment someone grabbed ahold of the knife!" Sonia remarked.
"So...the killer used the mark that I prepared for finding the knife as a mark for stabbing..." Nagito mumbled. "I see... That's why Byakuya got killed when he took the knife..."
"But if they were able to do that, wouldn't that mean the killer knew about Nagito's plan all along?" Chiaki professed.
"Well, Teruteru!?" Nekomaru bellowed.
"S-Seriously, I don't know anything... Really... I don't know anything at all..." Teruteru stammered, clearly nervous.
"Then can I ask everyone a question instead?" Nagito spoke out.
"Y-You again!? Just stop already!" Mahiru yelled angrily.
"N-Now, now! We should give everyone a fair opportunity to speak!" Teruteru said.
"If Teruteru is the killer, that would mean he went to the storage room during the blackout... And just what did Ibuki hear during the blackout?" Nagito mused.
"She heard... Teruteru's voice in the dining hall?" Peko muttered.
"Doesn't that prove Teruteru was in the dining hall during the blackout?" Nagito asked.
"Th-Th-That's right! That's exactly it!" Teruteru yelled.
"But Teruteru was in the kitchen the moment the blackout occurred, right? So...why was he in the dining hall?" Mahiru questioned.
"I-I thought the blackout was only in the kitchen, so I panicked and ran out of there..." Teruteru said. "Of course, the hallway was dark, too... But somehow I managed to move along the wall toward everyone's voices."
"Well, it's not that far to move along the wall from the kitchen to the dining hall..." Nekomaru said.
"That sounds fishy!" Akane professed.
"If I remember correctly, you can tell when a person is lying by licking their sweat..." Teruteru uttered. "So if you want, you can try licking me!"
"No way. You look greasy." Akane argued.
"But I heard Teruteru's voice in the dining hall! Ibuki swears on her honor!" Ibuki yelled.
"That's right. Teruteru was in the dining hall, not the storage room. Which means...he's no the killer." Nagito stated.
"No... That's not it..." Hajime said, under his breath.
"Why... Why do you want to keep falsely accusing me!?" Teruteru yelled.
"It's not like I want to blame you...I just..." Hajime strained, as you could clearly tell his dilemma.
"You should be so proud of yourself... You're just progressing toward the hope you believe in..." Nagito said. "Now...show me more of your hope. Will that be enough to crush Teruteru's hope? Let me ask again, did you go the storage room during the blackout?"
"Th-There's no way I went to the storage room! I was somewhere totally different!" Teruteru yelled.
"I definitely heard Teruteru's voice!" Ibuki stated. "It's handsome! Unlike his face!"
"Maybe it was a recording or something...?" Mahiru questioned.
"Nope, definitely a live voice!" Ibuki affirmed.
"Right, as long as I have her testimony... The fact that I was in the dining hall cannot be disputed!" Teruteru yelled.
"Yes it can." You said. "Just because we heard your voice doesn't mean you were in the dining hall."
"Huh? Wh-Why...?" Teruteru stammered.
"If you remember the floor in the dining hall, you'll remember it was full of gaps... Meaning, if you shouted from under the floor, it would've sounded just like any other voice in the dining hall." You stated, as Teruteru then proceeded to go pale.
"I see... So he brazenly shouted from under the floor to make us think he was in the dining hall." Peko repeated.
"...Is that true, Teruteru?" Mahiru asked, a stern expression on her face.
"H-Hold on a second..." He muttered.
"C-Can you explain this, Teruteru!?" Mikan stuttered.
"I told ya to wait a sec, ain't IIIIII!?" Teruteru yelled, but only it was...different.
His voice had changed from smooth and refined... To a complete country like noise.
"Hyaaaaaaa!?" Mikan squealed, completely surprised.
"What're y'all even sayin' anymore!? I'm tellin' ya I was in dat dere dinin' hall durin' da blackou'!" He yelled, his new, thick accent making it harder to tell what he was saying with his fast paced speaking.
"...Where are you from again?" Hiyoko questioned.
"Oooh I was born 'n West Azabu and raised 'n South Aoyama!" Teruteru said.
"Hey, you guys! This guy's a major liar!" Hiyoko chimed.
"...If Teruteru was in the dining hall during the blackout, he should've been there after the power returned, right?" Chiaki said.
"Well, I believe so. There's no way he could've gone back and forth in the dark hallway." Nagito said.
"Huh? Was Teruteru actually there during that time?" Mahiru questioned.
"I-I sure was... I was dere da whoooole damn time..." Teruteru said, trying to be nonchalant.
"Something like this shouldn't be decided by gut instinct. Pepole's lives are at stake." Nagito said cooley.
"Daaaamn right! You guys shouldna been decidin' this on the spot with you hazy memories!" Teruteru yelled.
"His accent is getting even worse! He's definitely lying!" Hiyoko exclaimed.
"However... I am not sure. I believe that he was there...and I believe that he was not there." Sonia sulked.
"Nghhhhhhhhh...! Is there any way we can decide...!?" Nekomaru questioned.
"...Why don't we consult his memories?" Chiaki suggested, grabbing your attention. Memories...
"Grah! Cher, don't be sayin' dings like dat don't make no sense! Can you even prove I wasn't in dat dinin' hall!?" Teruteru yelled.
"...We definitely can." You stated, in full confidence.
"Gaaaaarrrgh! You again!?" He exclaimed.
"Teruteru, if you claim that you were in the dining hall when the power came back on..." You took a deep breath, mentally apologizing. "...then exactly how was Mikan positioned at that time?"
"Wh-What!!?" Teruteru stuttered.
"Ngaaaah! Don't make me remember! I-It's so embarrassing!" Mikan squealed.
"No... This is actually a very important question..." Hajime said. "Well, Teruteru? If you were really in the dining hall at that time, you should know the answer to that!" You shot Hajime a thankful look, as he shot one back... Only slightly more pink than you were.
"Huh? Huh? Ummmmmmmm?" Teruteru murmured.
"It was a pretty clever way of tripping. There's no way you'd forget about it so easily." Hajime stated.
"Eeeee... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry. I showed you something so...unsightly...!" Mikan cowered.
"H-H-How about it!? You can't answer that, Teruteru!?" Ibuki yelled.
"Um...Um..." Teruteru stammered. "Huh? Uhhh...huh...? That's weird, it just slipped from my mind."
"That's basically impossible coming from a known pervert like you...!" You seethed.
"Uh-Uhm...even so..." Teruteru stuttered. "N-Nagito! Say something!"
You chuckled. "Are you really relying on Nagito for your only records of defense? Are you that helpless?"
"Hm..." Nagito started. "I guess you might have to give up now..."
"Wait...give up? What do you mean, 'give up'...?" Teruteru panicked.
"Teruteru... I'm disappointed too, you know..." Nagito sighed. "It's lonely watching someone I admire reach the limits of their hope. It kind of feels like a broken dream..."
"Nagito, what are you doing!? Why are you messing with the killer like that...!?" Hajime exclaimed.
"Ho-Ho-Hold on a sec! Don't go movin' dis along on your own like I really am da killer!" Teruteru yelled, his tangy, country like accent making its debut once again.
"Huh? But it's already decided, right?" Nagito mused.
"Da-da-da-da-da...hm...da-da-da-da-da-da..." Teruteru stuttered. "Da murder weapon hadn't been cleared up yet, cher!"
"It's no use! I can't understand him anymore!" Hiyoko whined.
"He-He said that the murder weapon hasn't been cleared up yet..." You revealed, as you, yourself, also realized that the murder weapon was something of very vague knowledge.
"Wow (F/N), you understand him!?" Ibuki exclaimed.
You shrugged. "You spend a lot of time in America, you get accustomed to how some of the people talk."
"But it's such a sad defense... This is too cruel..." Monomi sulked, as you almost forgot she was there.
"Oh! 'F you callin' me the killer den where da weapon!?" Teruteru babbled.
"'If you're calling me the killer, then where is the weapon'?" You translated.
"The weapon, huh...? It's not the knife, right?" Nekomaru asked.
"Judging from Byakuya's wounds... It was a thin, edged tool that's roughly five millimeters in diameter!" Mikan recalled.
"And since we have proven the Angel's innocence, a weapon that reveled from underneath the floorboards must be at least fifty centimeters in length." Gundam hypothesized.
"...After all this, who cares about the weapon?" Nagito smiled.
"Na' goo' enuff! Na' goo' enuff at all!" Teruteru babbled, even harder.
"He said it's 'not good enough, not good enough at all!'." You translated.
"Fine, I got it... Let's try thinking about what the weapon was." Chiaki instructed.
"Wannado'twannado't!?" Teruteru exclaimed.
"I think he said 'try to do it.'" You said.
"Agh! Such a confusing accent!" Ibuki put across.
"I don't have the time nor patience to keep trying to figure out what Teruteru keeps babbling... But, the murder weapon... A thin, edged tool, with a diameter of about fifty millimeters in diameter, and about fifty centimeters in length... That's the weapon used to kill Byakuya." You thought. "I know exactly what it is...!"
"I know what the murder weapon is!" You exclaimed. "It has to be the iron skewer!"
"Huh!? The iron skewer!?" Mahiru gasped.
"Before the party, when Hajime and I helped Byakuya confíscate more dangerous items, he spoke to Teruteru..." You informed. "I found an equipment list with all the items stocked in the kitchen. But, per to what we found, one iron skewer was missing from our search."
"So that missing iron skewer is the weapon!?" Nekomaru yelled.
"An iron skewer would math up with the wounds perfectly!" Mikan revealed.
"Hey Teruteru! Where'd ya hide the iron skewer!?" Akane yelled, basically as a threat towards the angry, quivering chef.
"Ah, ahhh...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." He babbled. "Avrillavignnnnnnnnnnne!"
"'Avril Lavigne!'." You said.
"Huh!? Did he really just say that!?" Ibuki gaped.
"He's just saying random shit to fuck with us! You probably dumped it somewhere on the island, didn't you!?" Fuyuhiko accused.
"This school trip has a no littering rule. If he had violated it, the island sirens would be ringing nonstop." Monomi informed.
"Island sirens...? Just for littering!?" Kazuichi stuttered.
"Also...I was on gaurd duty and I never once saw Teruteru leave the old building." Chiaki jumped in.
"Which means...he obviously hid it somewhere in the old building..." Peko hypothesized.
"It's probably the kitchen again, right!?" Hiyoko said.
"Teruteru...just man up and be straighten with us." Nekomaru instructed.
"OH...OH, OH, OH, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH..." He panicked and gripped his hair. "That's impossible! That's obviously nonsense! You're unforgivable!!" He kept spewing. "Where would the weapon be!?"
"I've got it!" Both you and Hajime exclaimed at the same time, making brief eye contact and smirking, before turning back to the suspect. "The iron skewer was hidden...inside the piece of meat on the bone!"
"Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-What!?" He babbled. "What are you sayin'...? Dere's no way I'd hide anything...in a place like that..."
"Th-That's clearly impossible! I mean, that's inside the food!" Akane exclaimed.
"'Impossible'... That's what (F/N), Byakuya and I thought... That's why we overlooked it..." Hajime said.
"But, as a matter of fact, the only place you could've hid the weapon was inside food, where it couldn't be suspected." You finished. "Out of all of the food you prepared, the only one that could hide a weapon as long as an iron skewer is...the meat on the bone!"
"WHAT NOWWWWW!?" Nekomaru yelled.
"I-I-I'm usin' mah right to remain silent!" Teruteru exclaimed.
You scoffed. "Well, I seriously doubt that exists in these types of circumstances."
"W-We need to confirm this now!" Ibuki sputtered.
"So if we eat that tasty-lookin' piece of meat and find the iron skewer inside... Bullseye!" Akane conveyed.
"All right, Monokuma or Monomi, one of you hurry and bring over that piece of meat!" Kazuichi demanded.
"One minute... Just gimme one minute...I'll eat the whole thing...!" Akane professed, an almost protective aura surrounding her.
"Wait now hold on a second Time out! Time out!" Teruteru pleaded.
"What are you doing!? Hurry up and bring it over!!!" Nekomaru yelled.
"Ah...about that..." Monomi uttered, as everyone looked towards the now empty throne next to her.
"Huh...? Where did Monokuma go?" Mahiru questioned.
"I'm...right here...!" The annoying voice of Monokuma rung, as everyone turned their heads to where the voice came from.
And, in the direction of the voice, was Monokuma sitting in a chair on the floor, holding the meat on the bone, already taking multiple bites out of it, carefreely. "Nom...I'm already eating it!"
"Gyaaaaa! A bear that eats meat!" Ibuki yelped. "...Wait, now that I think about it, that's pretty normal."
"om nom nom... What is this...? So yummy~." Monokuma chowed, obnoxiously.
"D-Dammit! That's my meat!" Akane growled.
"I've never eaten anything like it in my entire life. The taste bings me back to my days in the wild." Monokuma said.
"Th-Th-Th-Th-This... THIS IS BAD! Seriously, this is really bad!" Teruteru panicked, gripping his head.
"My, my...there's something inside the meat..." Monokuma chimed. "Look what came out!" He exclaimed, as he showed a long, iron skewer, with the handle being a piece of bone. Really, a clever idea for hiding a weapon.
"I-Isn't that...!?" Ibuki stuttered.
"Isn't that...an iron skewer...?" Sonia questioned.
"Check it out...the handle looks like it's made of bone. Pretty clever." Chiaki professed.
"The swears of destruction! Encased in bone and sheathed in meat! It brought catastrophe unto Byakuya!" Gundam bellowed.
"As expected of Teruteru! Such a fantastic weapon from the Ultimate Chef!" Nagito praised.
"Y-Y-You're wrong...! I'm not the killer... I'm not the kind of person...who would kill someone...!" Teruteru stammered. "I got it! You all set me up! You guys set me up so you could bake dis on me!"
"...Jeez, what a disappointment..." Nagito grumbled. "Such an unseemly defense for an Ultimate like you. Can you really call that hope?"
"Nagito... Can you shut up. Please." You begged, as he complied.
"Y'all nothin' but a bunch a poor, loud mouthed, fast-fold eatin' hicks!" Teruteru spewed.
"We are *not* a bunch of poor, loud mouthed, fast-food eating hicks." You seethed in translation, as Mahiru told you it was no longer needed for you to translate.
"Nevah nevah nevah shoulda wasted mah cookin' on you 'ngrates!" Teruteru yelled.
"I guess we need to settle this...once and for all..." Chiaki said. "To do that, we need to go over the entire incident from beginning to end and make everything clear..."
"So, we need to do it!" Hajime exclaimed before looking at you. "(F/N)... I hope you don't mind helping me go over this case."
You smirked. "I would be delighted."
"Let's try going over the whole incident, beginning with right after the party started..." Hajime started. "Byakuya had us gather in the dining hall of the old building near the hotel. He was extra cautious about a murder occurring that night because of a threatening letter he received. Therefore, he decided to throw a party so he could monitor us."
"Though, only one of us didn't come, everyone else did. And, at that, the party started." You stated. "However, what we didn't know, was that a trap was set by a certain someone, and it was already in motion. The said person plugged three irons into the outlets in the storage room, which nearly capped the power usage... But, they also prepared something else that would active at eleven thirty p.m..."
"The air conditioners, in the office and dining hall. They had already set the timers for these." Hajime said. "Thanks to the irons maxing out the power usage, the breaker was tripped when the air conditioners kicked on."
"And, since the windows in the old building were completely covered by thick, metal plates, the dining hall, and the rest of the building, was then succumb by total darkness." You added. "Once that happened, Byakuya took out a specific item that he brought in his case... AKA, the night vision goggles."
"Byakuya was so concerned about a murder occurring that hr brought a variety of security equipment with him." Hajime interjected. "When he put on his night-vision goggles, Byakuya witnessed a certain someone making a suspicious move... He saw Nagito guiding himself with the desk lamp's power cord so he could get under the table."
"Of course, everything up to that point was all per Nagito's plan. The murder warning, the source of the blackout... Everything. It was all Nagito." You said. "But, while the blackout was happening, someone else— the actual killer, was also making their move in the kitchen. They somehow already knew about Nagito's plan, so they knew a blackout was coming... So, they prepared all the items they would need beforehand. They needed a light source, which was provided by the portable stove the kitchen supplied. They needed a weapon, as well... Which was hidden in the kitchen already... The long iron skewer hidden in another churrasco dish. The killer skillfully managed to hide it inside the meat with the bone in it, covering it perfectly when Hajime, Byakuya and I went to go scavenge the kitchen for more dangerous items, per Byakuya's orders. So, with the weapon and portable stove in hand, the killer stepped out into the hallway... First, they closed the fire door in the hallway so their light source wouldn't peek toward the dining hall. Being guided by the light, the killer headed toward the storage room and grabbed one specific item they needed..."
"They grabbed a tablecloth to block the blood splatter." Hajime stated. "With this, the killer finished their preparations and snuck under the floorboard through the secret passage. They probably turned off the portable cooking stove at that point, or left it near the entrance of the door. The floor in the dining hall is full of gaps, so there;s no way they could've safely held a light source. But, thanks to the glowing mark they painted earlier, the killer maneuvered their way beneath the table."
"At that same time, Byakuya found a knife that had been hidden there..." You said. "If Byakuya had retreated, he most likely wouldn't have been killed, but sadly..." You sighed. "Byakuya's strong sense of safety and leadership drove him to grab the knife. And, at the same moment... The killer directly underneath the floorboards stabbed straight up with the iron skewer."
"The killer had been waiting in the dark for the moment when the glowing paint began to move." Hajime mentioned.
"After the killer had successfully killed Byakuya, they purposefully shouted from beneath the floorboards to make it seem like they were in the dining hall. Afterwards, they came out from beneath the floorboards and rushed back into the kitchen. And then, the hid the murder weapon back where it was, and rejoined the group after the blackout like nothing had happened. And there's only one person who would've been able to do all that, especially someone who would think of an unexpected way to hide the murder weapon inside food..." You narrowed your eyes at the murderer. "Isn't that right, Teruteru Hanamura!?"
"That's what happened... How about it? Did (F/N) or I get anything wrong?" Hajime asked.
"Th-This...is a mistake... A mistake, I tell you... I would never... I would never kill anyone..." He mumbled. "Would...never... gh...gh...ghhhhh... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH...!" He cried.
"It seems...this is the end." Peko said, sadly, as she witnessed the outburst of the small chef right next to her, who proceeded to cry.
"Geh-hehe...it looks like your argument has come to a close." Monokuma snickered. "Oops! I lost control of my wild side for a second. Was that a side effect of the meat I just ate?... Well, putting that aside, let's move along to the nerve-wracking voting time!" Monokuma chimed. "Now then, please pull the lever in front of you and cast your vote. Oh, just a reminder... Make triple sure you vote for someone!" Monokuma intructed. "If you don't vote... I'm gonna eat you up just like that meat from earlier..."
"Ughhhh...! Wh-Why did this happen...!?" Monomi wailed.
"Who will be chosen as the blackened!? Will you make the right choice, or the dreadfully wrong one!?" Monokuma monologued. "Puhuhu~! Such heart-pounding excitement!
You took a hold of your lever and pointed it to Teruteru's stand, slight regret filling your heart. Byakuya was dead... And now, Teruteru will be too. Obviously, you didn't know too much about Byakuya, and you definitely didn't have the greatest of opinions about Teruteru, but the fact that two less people will be on your island still shattered your heart, greatly.
You locked in your vote, and the giant screen in the trial room had showed a pixelated Teruteru, and giant letters spelling 'CORRECT' under it.
It was decided...
Teruteru Hanamura has been found guilty for the murder of Byakuya Togami.
