Chappy 3

~~

As you were walking with Hajime and Nagito to the beach to find out what Usami's surprise was, you couldn't help but try and recollect everything that had happened. Even though some were offsetting, and one blatantly rude, everyone else was pretty nice and welcoming...! Most of them had such interesting and versatile Ultimates, while others could be used for protection or daily life. Even though mostly everyone seemed nice, and Usami was trying her best to make everyone get along, you still felt everlying dread within you.

"I don't get it...pretty much everyone is nice...but why does it feel like something bad is gonna happen? I mean, yeah, being taken to an uninhabited island instead of having our first day of school was a thing in itself, but I don't get it..."

As you, Hajime, and Nagito arrived at the first beach, you realized that everyone else was already there.

"You three are the last to arrive. What are you dilly-dallying for?" Byakuya asked of the three of you.

"We're sorry to keep you all waiting." Nagito apologized on the behalf of all of you.

"Well, it's all right..." Byakuya dismissed, "More importantly, this is our only chance to talk between ourselves before that rabbit returns. Now then, let me hear your initial impressions of this island."

"I happened to notice numerous blocked off bridges on the central island..." Peko started.

"Oh, those are so everybody doesn't get lost!" Ibuki metioned, and you looked at her, confused, "I tried to cross one of them and that rabbit showed up and told me, so I'm telling the truth!"

"So we don't get lost? Is this island really that big?" You asked, mostly to yourself. Your feeling of dread only grew slightly bigger.

"But if you look at it in depth, it's just a normal island, right? It's got a resort and everything!" Kazuichi said. "Well, not that I've ever been to a resort before, but..."

"Also, there's a biiiiig ranch!" Hiyoko exclaimed

"Um...there's also a large supermarket, too... It looks like it stocks everything from food to living amenities." Mikan brought up.

"The hotel was really nice, too. It'd be great if we can stay." Mahiru mentioned.

"The restaurant inside the hotel was also very nice. It seemed to cater to a more plebian taste." Sonia said, while you slightly furrowed your eyebrows at her statement.

"Can you guys listen to what I wanna say, too?" Teruteru asked, and your breath hitched.

...Oh no.

Saying you we nervous was an understatement.

"I...found something very important on this island." He started.

"Well. What is it." You ordered of him.

"Well well well, aren't you fiesty..." He said to you, and you had half a mind to throw up what you hadn't eaten.

"What I found... were girls! Very, very cute girls! Aha! All over the place!" He finished, blood dribbling out of his nose.

"Groooooss! I'm getting goosebumps!" Ibuki yelled, and you couldn't help but agree with her.

"All of you are fools... I can't believe nobody has mentioned the most serious truth." Byakuya brought up, coldly.

"...The most serious truth?" Chiaki asked.

"If no one here realized it, you're all bigger fools than I thought." He sneered at all of you.

"Something nobody has brought up...the most troubling thing about this situation... Oh, he means..."

As Fuyuhiko and Byakuya got into a small argument, you had realized what the most serious truth he was speaking of meant.

"You're talking about..where specifically we are, aren't you?" You stated, getting a noise of confirmation from the Ultimate Affluent Progeny.

"Yes, that's correct." He said.

"Huh? What does that mean?" Hajime asked, a small bead of swear forming, and beginning to roll down his temple.

"Have you all gone to the park that's across the bridge?" Byakuya asked.

"Oh, the park with that weird bronze statue of all those creepy animals, right?" Hajime tried confirming.

"When I saw it, I remembered a story I'd heard before. There's an island in the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful island paradise where summer never ends... It consists of a central island surrounded by five different islands... It's also said that five holy animals symbolize each of those surrounding islands. That island's name is..."

"Jabberwock Island..." You interrupted, finishing Byakuya's monologue.

"Huh, could it be... Jabberwock Island? Where we are right now?" Nagito kept inquiring.

"Still, there is something that is bothering me." Byakuya said, ignoring Nagito. "In fact, according to what I've heard, Jabberwock Island is already..." He paused, "...Never mind."

You deadpanned at Byakuya, "Seriously? Nevermind? That could've been important fucking information and you say nevermind? Jeez..."

"No need to whine. I will let you know once I obtain more information." He said to you.

"Meh, I don't care what this island's called. Nikoniko Island or Papura Island or whatever..." Akane expressed, sticking a finger in her ear, "Doesn't change the fact that we all gotta live here, right?"

"Living together on this tropical island sure is exciiiiiting! I'm super looking forward to it!" Ibuki professed.

"Right on! This ain't a bad school at all!" Kazuichi followed after Ibuki.

"H-Hey...you guys..." Hajime muttered, only to be overlapped by Hiyoko.

"Hmm, I like this island too!" Hiyoko rang, "...Can't say the same about most of you."

"Honestly, the living circumstances seem pretty nice... I can't really find a reason to complain right now." You expressed, feeling serene with the beach atmosphere.

"Honestly, I'm still a little worried, but I don't feel as worried as I did earlier..." Mahiru stated, "Yeah, since there's no danger or inconvenience, I feel like this won't be a problem!"

"H-Hey, you guys really need to think about what's happening here..." Hajime started, warily, "We're all supposed to be attending Hope's Peak Academy, right? But instead, we're being forced to live on this island... No matter what, it's completely weird!"

"Well, if I'm being honest, Hajime," You said, bringing the male's attention to your moving lips, "I was wary of the circumstances too. I mean, yeah, we're the Ultimate's who are supposed to go to Hope's Peak, sure. But, even though the whole situation seems...weird, all the accommodations seem really nice, it doesn't look like we'd be put in danger any time soon. I could be wrong, but the stars look pretty clear to me." You explained, putting a small smile on your face, while Hajime deadpanned.

"But it's dayti-" "That's not what I meant."

"P-Plus, even if we wanted to leave, there's no way we can..." Teruteru said.

"There's no ship, and the planes are just for show..." Kazuichi added on to Teruteru's statement.

"Based on what I have seen, there is also no way to contact the outside world, either..." Peko brought up, "Meaning it would be impossible to call for help."

"Then, why don't we just swim home?" Akane asked, earning rebuttals from Mikan and Mahiru.

"Th-Then...what if we cut down some trees and made a raft...?" Mahiru suggested, then suddenly, Usami popped up.

"Nuh-uh! You can't do that! That's the biggest of no-nos!" She said, "Please recall the guidelines of this school trip! 'Littering is now allowed. Let us coexist with this island's bountiful nature in mutual prosperity.' Got it? I want everyone to get along and live peacefully on this beautiful tropical island."

"Wh-What's with the rules? Who cares about that!!" Hajime exclaimed.

"Stop. This rabbit seems o be rather finicky about these so-called rules." Byakuya said, "Based on that, what if your actions place everyone here in danger?" He asked of Usami, which she responded with a sweatdropping face, and a terrified expression.

"Th-The word 'danger' is a bit much! I wouldn't do something like that."

"Hajime...I understand how you feel, but you need to calm down a little, okay?" Nagito tried reassuring Hajime.

"F-For now...as long as we don't do anything weird, it seems like there is no danger..." Mikan said.

"And as long as we gather the Hope Fragments, we'll be able to get off this island soon." Chiaki added.

"Y-You're all just gonna believe that?" Hajime sweatdropped again.

"Well, it looks like it's the only thing we can believe, unless something else comes up." You stated. There was a small pause between you and Hajime, before Ibuki decided to speak up.

"Anyway, Usami! What's this present you mentioned in your announcement earlier?" She inquired.

"Ah, that's right! Well, of course I didn't forget..." Usami started, before pulling something from her back, "Love! Love! This is it! Don't be upset, I've prepared one for you all. So don't worry!"

"...What is this...?" Nagito asked first, as you looked at what was now in your hands. It seemed to be a replica of Usami, but...miniature.

"Pfft, teehee! It's an Usami Strap!" Usami said, and you almost chocked on your own spit.

"An Usami Strap? She couldn't have found something else to name it??" You thought as you looked back at your teacher.

"If you squeeze the tummy, it talks." She explained, while demonstrating.

"I'm Usami...Magical Miracle Girl ★ Usami. I'm an itty bitty girl who's sweet like milk!" The Usami Strap said, while Usami giggled, "Isn't it cute? Love! Love!"

Many others expressed their distaste for the said 'present', while Chiaki expressed how she found it cute, 'especially how the ears look like a rabbit's'. Despite what she said, a large amount of Usami straps were then found scattered along the beach. Beside the whole mental argument you had with yourself about the name of the said gift, you simply decided to put the Usami Strap in your pocket. You knew you wouldn't have a use for it, so you'd probably put it in a random drawer and forget about it there.

"Hey! You can't taint nature with trash!" Usami squeaked out at the people who had thrown the present on the beach, which was practically everyone.

"See? Even you think they're trash!" Ibuki yelled out, while Usami dejectedly picked up the scattered Usami straps along the beachfront.

"Ugh... And I even prepared one more present, too, but now I don't even wanna give it to you bad kids..." Usami cried.

"Hm? You have something else?" Peko asked of the dejected rabbit.

"Well, compared to the Usami Strap, it's not that big of a deal..." Usami uttered, "Basically, I've prepared a motive for everyone."

"A motive...?" Hajime asked.

"That's right. A motive for everyone to get along." The rabbit explained, "We've come all this way to a tropical island, so I thought it'd be great to do something island-themed."

"Like what? Are you thinkin' of throwin' a big party or somethin'?" Akane asked.

"Coooorrect!" Usami cheered, throwing her arms in the air.

"Is it a festival? Or maybe a miniature shrine? How wonderful!" Sonia expressed, seeming starts in her eyes.

"This could actually be pretty nice...I don't see the problem with it." You followed up, a small smile etching its way onto your face.

"Excuse me...Miss (F/N)," You heard, and found it to be the voice of none other than the Ultimate Chef, "You know, my lions are still full of poison, and I'd appreciate it if you could suck it out with your mouth." He said, blood seeping out of his nose at a very alarming pace, as you opted for taking a few cautious steps back. From your peripheral vision, you could see Nagito sending a small glare towards Teruteru.

"Knock it off, Teruteru!" Nagito said, slightly getting closer to you. Luckily, Ibuki decided to interrupt the whole uncomfortable situation.

"If we're talking about fun parties on a tropical island, maybe it should be a barbecue or something?" She asked excitedly.

"Ah, a campfire sounds fun, too." Mahiru added.

"Let's find a hoop snake and kill it!" Hiyoko said excitedly, making you widen your eyes.

"Is looking for one not enough for you!?" Kazuichi panicked at Hiyoko.

"Well, it seems everyone has different ideas, but if we're gonna be at the ocean, then first..." Usami started, before pulling something else out from behind your back. How the hell does that work, again? "Tadaaa! This is what it's all about!"

"A swimming bag?" Nagito noted, earning praise from Usami.

"Cooooorrect! Love! Love!"

"Whoaaaa! Then that means..." Kazuichi trailed off.

"That's right. I have swimsuits for everyone. Well, school swimsuits actually. I hope that's okay." Usami told everyone.

"A-Are you telling us to go swimming...? In a situation like this...?" Hajime asked your teacher,

"It's not like I'm ordering you guys to swim or anything. It's just, if you wanna go swimming, you can..." Usami told Hajime, while he said that there was no way he was gonna go swimming. Even though he expressed his disdain for going swimming at a time as this, many others expressed how excited they were to go swimming. Honestly, you were to. The weather was nice, and the sun basked you and everyone else in a somewhat ethereal glow, warming you up.

"Alllllll riiiiiiiight! Let's go change!!!" You heard Nekomaru yell out, as many of your classmates grabbed a swimming bag, and you decided to go along with them to change.

Nothing was going to happen, right? It's just a nice swim.

You all ran straight to the hotel to change, and the swimsuit was, like Usami had said, a simple dark grey school swimsuit. You didn't have the most positive feeling about it, considering it was a one piece, and one piece's were often annoying due to your naval piercing. But, you still put on the one piece, regardless.

"Jeez, this thing is a little cheeky, huh?" You thought, chucking to yourself as you let go of the edge that was covering your left buttcheek. Leaving the hotel, you caught up with the first girl you saw, which happened to be Mahiru.

"The weather seems nice for this, huh?" You asked, hoping to start a conversation with the red-head.

"Yeah! It's been a while since I've had a nice swim, and everything seems really nice." She said as you both walked, meeting Peko along the way,

"Hey, Peko..!" You called out, and she turned at the sound of your voice, "It seems really nice right now, right?"

"Yes, the beach looks very pleasant." She responded, monotonously as always, "I believe nothing bad shall come of this. It's just a simple swim, I am...I am looking forward to it." Peko said, bringing a soft smile to all of your faces.

"That's nice, I know I'm looking forward to it, too." You said, looking to see that you had made it to the beach, you turned your head back to Mahiru and Peko, "C'mon, let's go!" You said, making a small sprint to everyone else at the beach.

You made a small rush to the water, making it about knee deep before playfully spinning around. Everyone seemed to be having fun.

"YAAAAAAHOOOOOO!" You heard Kazuichi yell, as he ran through the water.

"Yaaaaay! The sea!" Mikan cheered.

"Aaah, the water is so cool. If feels great!" You heard Sonia say, as she kicked the water near the shore.

"Uah! Too salty! This water's too salty! It's not going easy on me!" Ibuki yelled, as you saw her near you having a mini battle with the sea, making you laugh as you settled in slightly deeper.

"Heeeey, I got some suntan lotion from the supermarket. Would anyone like a rub down?" Teruteru asked, holding a bottle of lotion.

"Oh! You're quite considerate! Now then, will you apply it right away?" Nekomaru responded to what Teruteru said.

"Eh? Rubbing lotion on a muscular man...?" Teruteru pondered to himself, "All right, no problem! My tastes are pretty open, you know!"

"You seem a little *too*open... Like you're covering too many bases by yourself." Mahiru narrowed her eyes at Teruteru, while you laughed.

"Hey, what's wrong with being open...! You find yourself out that way." You laughed while turning to meet those on the shore.

"Oh~ So exactly how open are you~" "Stay in your lane, Teruteru."

"Heeeey you guys! Don't forget about me!" You heard Hajime yell, "Hey hey! Wait for me! Let me join in the fun!"

Then suddenly, the sky turned a dark gray in contrast to the sunny clear blue you were all just experiencing a minute ago.

"Huh? What's happening...? These strange clouds... This doesn't look natural at all...!" Hajime panicked, "Hey, what's going on?" He asked Usami, who was sweatdropping profusely at the currently event. "What did you do!? This is obviously not right! It was sunny just a few minutes ago!" Hajime kept spewing questions at the rabbit, however, she just kept panicking more than Hajime.

"There's no way! Something like this shouldn't be happening" She yelled, and then the monitor on the beach started staticing.

"Ahh, ahh...! Mike check! Mike check!" A voice spoke through the monitor, "Ah, ah! Ah, ah! Can you hear me, can you hear me?"

The voice sounded as if it was a child on a playground, so carefree and gleeful like it didn't know what was going on. But under all that joy and glee, there was a tone of malice that could be only felt.

"Puhuhu... Surprised? You were totally surprised! Riiiight? Now then, sorry to keep you all waiting for so long. Let's leave all this worthless entertainment behind... It's time for the main attraction! You guys better hustle over to Jabberwock Park!"

And then the monitor turned off, leaving everyone stunned.

"Could it be? This voice...!" Usami panicked, "I-If this is... Oh, this is very bad. I gotta do something... It's all up to me!"

"H-Hey, wait!" Hajime called out, but to no avail, because Usami had already disappeared.

"That was an... unusual occurrence..." Byakuya uttered.

"It's best if we go, too..." Chiaki said, "Jabberwock Park, was it? Let's hurry."

You decided to go directly to the hotel to change as quickly as you could. Even though you decided to ignore the original feeling of dread, it was no doubt back after the creepy monitor message. You changed rather quickly, making your way as fast as you could to Jabberwock Park, where everyone who wasn't swimming already was. From a little ways away, you could hear Usami yelling at the sky.

"Wh-Where are you!? Where are you hiding!?" She yelled, "Hey! Where are you? Show yourself!"

And then suddenly, there was such a menacing, playful laugh.

"Ahhhh-hahahahahahaha!"

As you looked to where the laugh came from, which happened to be the bronze statue, waiting in anticipation for something to happen, something did. From the back of the statue popped out a black and white bear.

"Why, hello there! Thank you all for waiting!" The bear said, "Long time, no see guys! I am Monokuma! I'm the headmaster of this academy!"

"...Is this thing real? Everyone can see it, right?" You looked around to see everyone struck with confusion and fear, "Okay so it is real, this...bear, is the headmaster of the academy, nice."

"Ahem, now that I have made my dashing appearance, the first thing I need to say is..." The bear said, standing up on the statue, "This is so friggin' lame! Lame, I say! Lamer than the lamest lamesause!" It said, putting its hands in the air. "Oh, wait. Lamesause!? Is that tasty?"

"Just as I thought... It was you!" Usami accused the monochrome bear, "But...how... Why is Monokuma here!?" She panicked.

"Mono...kuma?"

"Aw shaaaadup!" The so-called Monokuma yelled, "I'm livid, you know... And I'm about ready to barf thanks to you lukewarm attitude!" He yelled.

"Just what's with this "heart throbbing school trip" crap anyway!? I'm bored! So hopelessly bored!" Monokuma complained, "This just ain't fun at all! You better knock off this farce right now! You've gotta make this, you know...meet the demands of the world. Nobody wants to see high school students living calm and peaceful lives. What everyone wants to see is... Other people's misery...and despair..."

"Wh-What the hell is this stuffed animal...!?" Fuyuhiko started, clenching his knuckles, "Nothing he's saying makes any damn sense...!"

"What...what is going on? What is that thing?" Byakuya muttered.

"Be careful, everyone! Stay back and leave this to me!" Usami ordered everyone, clutching her Magic Stick, "I don't know why Monokuma is here, but as long as I have this Magic Stick..."

"Yah! Opening!" Monokuma yelled, making a lunge towards Usami. Soon enough, they went into a full fledged brawl, creating a small cloud of white-ish gray smoke around them, limiting everyone from seeing what was going on.

After all the smoke cleared up, you all saw Usami laying on the ground, while Monokuma stepped on her Magic Stick with his foot, a victorious expression on his face, "Dun-dun-dah-dahhhhhh! VICTORY!"

"Noooooo! My Magic Stick!" Usami wailed.

"Now then, what to do after my flawless victory..." Monokuma pondered aloud, "First of all, you're too plain. White rabbits are faaaar too plain. Soooo, I'm gonna make you in my imagine! Aaah-hahahaha!"

Again, they got into another brawl, the white-grey smoke reappearing. After many countless objections from Usami, and more and more brawling, the smoke cleared again, however, Usami looked...different. She was now dual colored, like Monokuma, with a pink bow and a diaper.

"Taaa-daaa! ALL DONE!" Monokuma announced, victoriously.

"Wha-...!" Usami stuttered, "What is this!? I'm not supposed to look weird like this! Change me back to normal!"

"My, my... Defying your big brothers fashion sense... Is Monomi a little troublemaker?" Monokuma jeered.

"...Big brother? Monomi?" Usa—er, Monomi, asked.

"Your current position is too wish-washy, so I'm setting you to be my little sister, Monomi." Monokuma said, "...Though it's only an external setting, after all." He finished, making Monomi rebuttal.

Suddenly, Monokuma sent a flying punch to Monomi with his fist, flinging her somewhere. "How was that!? Have you learned your lesson?"

"Hey...what's with this stupid performance...?" Fuyuhiko growled again, still clenching his fists.

"Wh-Who friggin' knows...!" Akane said.

"But...it's obvious something bad is happening." Chiaki stated.

"Whaa-!? What is this!? What's going on!?" Teruteru panicked, making Monomi sob.

"Huh? Now she's all weird-looking!" Mahiru pointed out, most likely talking about Monomi.

"Weird-looking...? She matches me now, you know! How insensitive..." Monokuma wallowed, shuffling his feet—paws?- on the floor.

"There's more of 'em!?" Ibuki uttered in panic, holding her face with wide eyes.

"Wh-What does this mean? What *is* that black and white tanuki...?" Peko wondered aloud.

"I'm not a tanuki, I'm a bear! I'm Monokuma!" Monokuma roared, throwing his paws in the air.

"I-I don't understand it myself, but...a new stuffed animal appeared?" Kazuichi said, "I mean...why is that stuffed animal even talking...?"

"Seriously, I'm not a stuffed animal, I'm Monokuma! The headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy!" Monokuma roared again, earning more questions from the others.

"Now then, as the headmaster, I shall make a formal declaration!" Monokuma started, "From this point onward, the killing school trip will now commence!"

Wait...

wait...

"A...killing school trip?" You uttered nervously.

"A school trip where everyone gets along has no stimulation at all! And it's so damn boring! Nobody wants to play a game like that! You guys agree with me, right!?" Monokuma said, "Soooooo, let's begin our killing school trip! Naturally, you guys are the contestants!"

"K-Killing...contestants...?" Teruteru stuttered nervously.

"Wh-What are you saying!? I will absolutely, positively now allow such bloody events!" Monomi screamed, earning her a kick to the head.

"Jeez... Your brain sure is tiny, Monomi. How many times do I have to tell you? Pay attention this time. Except in manga, a little sister is never smarter than her big older brother." Monokuma said, making Monomi wail in sadness.

"Now the, we got off topic for a while, so let's go back to the explanation of the killing school trip." Monokuma said, turning his attention back to the 17 of you.

"Wh-Wh-What do you mean, 'killing school trip'...?" Mikan stuttered, tears forming in her eyes.

"Isn't it obvious? You guys are going to kill each other!" Monokuma chimed innocently, as if what he said wasn't terrifying to you all.

"Kill each other...I see..." Kazuichi said, making you narrow your eyes at him, because he said it way too calmly, "K-KILL EACH OTHER!?"

Nevermind.

"Wh-What are you saying!? That's impossible!" Teruteru sweatdropped.

"Well, don't you think it's kinda lame and boring that you can't leave the island unless you all get along?" Monokuma asked innocently, "So I'm changing the rules! If you want off this island, then please kill one of your friends! And then, make it through the class trial without getting caught!"

"...Class trial?" Chiaki asked.

"That's right! The class trial is the real charm of this killing school trip!" Monokuma started, "If one of you gets murdered... The surviving members must participate in the class trial! At the class trial, there will be a showdown between the blackened killer and the other spotless students. During the trial, you'll present your arguments about who you think the blackened is. The outcome will be decided by popular vote and if you arrive at the correct answer... Only the blackened killer will be punished. The rest may continue their school trip. However...if you choose poorly...then the one who got away with murder will survive, and the rest of you will receive your punishment. As far as the class trial rules go...that's all there is to it! Which means, if you kill someone and make it through the class trial, you get to live and leave this island. However, if you are found guilty during the class trial, then you will be punished. Puhuhu, it's a familiar but simple rule, right?"

"You...keep repeating that word 'punish' over and over. What's the deal with that?" Kazuichi asked.

"Basically...it's an execution!" Monokuma replied.

"E-Execution!?" Sonia panicked.

"The pleasing punishment that follows the class trial! This is one of the perks of the killing school trip." Monokuma voiced, "Puhuhu~, what sort of spine-tingling punishments will we see? I can't help it, I'm already getting excited! There may even be some unique punishments, like impaling you through the head with a Thingamajig Claw!" He finished his small monologue, before turning back to your classmates.

"Ahem, any method of killing is fine. Popular ones like bludgeoning, stabbing, strangling, and poisoning... To shooting, beating, running over, burning, bombing, slashing, drowning, electrocution, crushing, cursing..." He finished his list of killing methods, "Please, choose whichever killing method you prefer. No time limit, so you can kill as you please... It's and All-You-Can-Murder Buffet... A theme park of murder... That's what this killing school trip is all about!" He laughed boisterously, as you were frozen in place. This was...so much worse than you could've ever imagined.

"D-Don't fuck with me..." Fuyuhiko chocked out.

"Th-That's right! Who on earth would kill someone?" Kazuichi cried.

"I'm not ordering anyone to kill. Whether or not you kill someone is entirely up to you." Monokuma said innocently, "But be careful! Youth doesn't last forever! It'll be too late if you guys wait till you're in our forties to start killing each other!"

"I-I don't believe any of this... I don't believe any of this... I don't believe any of this..." Teruteru kept repeating, nonchalantly combing his hair.

"Wh-What if nobody ever gets murdered? Does that mean we'll never leave this island?" Mahiru asked nervously.

"Who knows!" Monokuma puffed out, "Anyway, I'd like for you all to go through with this killing school trip in a healthy and positive manner."

"W-Wait just a minute! Why do we have to do this!?" Mahiru yelled out, again.

"Well, it's obvious. There's a reason you all need to kill each other." Monokuma said, innocently, making Hajime voice out a noise of confusion.

"Hold on..." Nekomaru said, "You've been running your mouth for quite some time now... I don't want to get violent, but if I do, I hace no idea what might happen!" The Ultimate Team Manager yelled, pointing an accusing finger at the dual colored bear.

"What, a fight? Do I need to beat the crap outta that black-and-white bear?" Akane seethed.

"Who would dare try to kill...? I'll put a stop to it, with force if necessary." Peko stated, her crimson eyes narrowing.

"If you keep saying stupid stuff, the athletes in our group are gonna loose their patience!" Ibuki yelled.

"Ah, is that so...? Well, I guess I expected this reaction..." Monokuma said, feet shuffling on the floor, "If you guys wanna do things by force, then I'll have to fight back with a little force of my own..." He brought up his white paw, showing sharp claws, while his red...eye glowed a sharp aura.

He turned toward the bronze statue in front of you all, "Surge... O gods who dwell between light and darkness... In accordance with our contract, I summon thee now... Come forth Monobeasts!"

Suddenly, the bronze statue began shaking erratically, chipping off its bronze coating at a slow pace, to reveal metal under it. Every individual creature that was on the statue had now separated, and we're all standing menacingly behind Monokuma.

"Wh-Why...did that statue move?" Mahiru managed to speak.

"That's no statue! They're Monobeasts!" Monokuma corrected.

"M-M-M-M-Monster!" Kazuichi screamed, horrified.

"No, I just said they're Monobeasts!" Monokuma yelled out.

You stared in wide shock at the four giant 'Monobeasts' in front of you, all menacingly giant and horrifying. You felt as if they even looked in your direction, you would be killed on the spot. You couldn't say anything, you really were just stunned into silence.

"N-No...this can't be... This is just... too weird...!" Mikan managed to stutter out.

"Am I...having a nightmare or something...?" Fuyuhiko pondered aloud.

"Kyahaha! A nightmare, he says! He just admitted his brain is a total flower patch!" Hiyoko jeered at Fuyuhiko.

"Jeez... You guys sure are a skeptical bunch... If something doesn't fit within your narrow notions of common sense, you just deny outright..." Monokuma poked at you all, "How stupid. Ignorant cavemen are better than you all! Classifying events to their genre is a disease of the modern age."

"Everyone! Please stay back!" Monomi said, "I-I will protect everyone! Even at the cost of my own life...I will protect everyone!"

Suddenly, Monokuma started making noises of sickness, and nausea. "Blah...what is this... Ah, I know! This is nausea! Your sickly sweet sense of justice makes me wanna puke! All righty then, it's decided! You'll be my example to everyone!" He announced.

And in the blink of an eye, he boarded onto the  Monobeast, and it rose swiftly into the air. It rose higher and higher, never taking it's metallic gaze off of Monomi, as she trembled with fear. As Monokuma pressed a button, multiple shotguns came out of the Monobeast's wings, all aiming fire rapidly at Usami. She was shot repeatedly, stuffing coming out at an alarming pace, bullet casings going everywhere as you shielded your face, hoping not to get injured. After the Monobeast had settled down, Usami was practically no where to be found. She was simply small scraps, and her bow falling whistfully from the air.

"Wha...wha..." Teruteru muttered, "WAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!"

"Wh-What is that!?" Kazuichi panicked.

"A-blub-blub-blub-blub... It's only the first stage...and Monomi is already dead...!" Ibuki said, a weird white foam erupting from her mouth.

"I-Is that a demon...!? Or perhaps it's...a weapon from the future...!?" Gundam spoke.

"Monobeasts are dreadful weapons of destruction!" Monokuma cackled.

All of you were fear struck once again. A flying, mechanical monster had just rendered your teacher into nothing, and would, without a doubt, do the same thing to you if provoked. Nobody could move, nobody could breathe.

"Puhuhu... That's right, this is what I wanted." Monokuma said, "This feeling of despair! Giving an example was totally the right call!" He said as he laughed maniacally, as the rest of you were still frozen in place. There was no reaction from any of you, to scared of what would happen if someone happened to say the wrong thing, or do a wrong action.

"Now then, I believe I've made my point..." Monokuma started, "Just so we're clear, you guys can't defy me.  If you don't want to end up as fish food, you better not disobey me! Just so you know...I don't feel mercy or sympathy. Cuz, I'm a bear, after all. An excuse like, 'I got high off this tropical atmosphere,' won't work on me at all." He clarified.

"Also, in addition to the killing school trip, I've already updated the e-Handbook." Monokuma added, "There, the rules for the killing school trip are written, so you better read the thoroughly. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse, either. Well, that's also true of any society really. Now then," Monokuma began to cackle, "Enjoy the remainder of this liberating and harsh school trip!"

After he had finished his monologue, he had disappeared into abyss, along with the Monobeasts that had obliterated Monomi, your supposed teacher. Even after the dual-colored headmaster had left, everyone was still frozen in place, no one dared to say anything. Nothing made sense at the moment. Everything today seemed like it would have been fine, so...why?

"Wh-What just...happened...?" Nagito stuttered, being the first one to break the silence.

"Nagito..." You said, turning to face the cloud-haired male, "If I knew, I would tell you..."

"I-I...just won't believe it... That's it... That's all there is to it..." Teruteru said.

"I-It'd be one thing if we were up against a human or even an animal..." Nekomaru started, "What the hell can we do against a monster like that!?"

"I-It's impossible... Why is something impossible happening...?" Kazuichi asked.

"Well, it's not impossible if it...just happened..." You said, "We just saw it happen...I-I don't know how we can deny it..."

"Those...Monobeasts, or whatever they're called, are machines. That means Monokuma must be the same..." Byakuya stated, "As long as they're machines... It means someone made them, and is controlling them."

"Then, who is responsible...? Why were we put into this unexplainable situation..." Peko asked Byakuya, who's eyes drifted from you, to a few others.

"Hey, who is it!? Who!?" Mahiru demanded.

"Aha...haha, it could be anyone." Teruteru said, 'It's not like I believe it anyway. There's no way I'd believe something like that. More importantly, are you guys hungry? Let's stop thinking about this and just eat."

"...You can eat first." Chiaki said to Teruteru.

"Listen, no matter how confused or upset you are, I don't mind. However, remember this..." Byakuya started, "I don't know how in the world is orchestrating this, but we don't need to be cautious of this machines, or even of whoever's controlling them... More than anything, we must be cautious of... Ourselves."

Once again, it seemed that time had stopped. As you looked around, it seemed that everyone did the same, sending scared, accusatory, threatening, any type of glance to those around them. Really, the situation you were all in had really hit.

17 innocent, well...maybe not so innocent, people, trapped on an island, forced to kill to leave.

As Byakuya went on his own monologue about how the announcement just made all struck fear into your minds, you couldn't help but only absentmindedly listen. Even though there's a chance that a killing would never occur, you had to admit to yourself that that possibility was still less than likely. Someone would most likely go crazy within themselves, desperate to escape and...actually act on the rule.

That day was unforgettable, the day the really brought light, to what despair truly was.
