~

The day starts like any other, when you're trapped on an island forced to kill each other by a robot bear.

Waking up, dressing up, making up, and walking out of your cabin to meet the rest of your poor island mates at the hotel restaurant.

The walk to the hotel was the same. Passing by the still pool and walking up those carpeted steps felt like routine. But, maybe routine is good on a place like this. It means nobody's dying.

Once your figure made it to the top of the hotels stairs, you were greeted with Sonia's sky blue eyes.

"Oh! Good morning, (F/N). I hope you had a good rest last night." She greeted you, as you waved to her back.

"I did, thank you." You smiled, before making your way over to the buffet to grab some sustenance for the day.

At the side of the restaurant, you noticed Hajime thoughtfully looking out the window. You made your way over to him, carefully pulling out the chair next to him and setting stuff down.

"Hey, you okay this morning?"

Hajime wasn't startled by your sudden appearance, as he noticed you once you pulled out the chair next to him. He straightened his back and turned away from the window to look at you.

"Hi (F/N), and...I'm fine. As fine as I can be on a remote island, the morning after we just played a cryptic video game about a real murder, involving some of us..." Hajime spoke, significantly quieting down as he continued with his statement.

"I get it, don't worry. I pretty much passed out last night after we parted ways."

"You're sleeping better, right?" Hajime asked, concerned eyes boring into your face.

You nodded, as you picked up a strawberry from your plate and plucked off the leaves to take a bite.

"Yo Hajime, (F/N)!!" Akane's blithe voice rung out as she approached you and the brown haired boy sitting down. "You two are always off together somewhere. You guys dating or what?"

Your eyes widened as Hajime began choking on his drink. "W-What?" "H-Huh!?"

Akane shrugged as she pulled out a chair from the other side of the table and rested her elbows on said table. "You guys are always together! Whenever we're in a group I see you guys close, and you offer to help (F/N) whenever she needs it Hajime! You guys are a pair!"

You laughed, albeit nervously. "Might be a small coincidence, Akane. I do hang around more people than just Hajime," You paused, "even though he's pretty great."

Hajime blushed lightly and looked away, while Akane leaned in with a large smile adorning her face, one with mischief laced in it.

"Soo, both of you are single then, right?" You glanced at Hajime, then back at Akane, before nodding slowly.

"That mean my chances of gettin' ya' are there?"

Your eyes widened as you felt your face heating up. You laughed (to cover up your nervousness) and patted Hajime on the shoulder.

"Uh, I don't know, Hajime's a pretty special guy if you want to get with him."

Akane burst out in laughter. "Man, you're pretty funny (F/N)!" She stilled herself with a hand on her chest. "Hey, is that seriously all the two of you are gonna' eat?"

"You just eat too much, Akane." Hiyoko spoke as she joined the three of you at your table.

"You're one to talk. All you eat is candy." Akane shot back at the blonde.

"Just because it's candy doesn't mean you should make fun of it." Hiyoko pouted, shoving a plastic wrapping bag at Akane's face. "These gummies have four different fruit flavors, so I'm sure they're full of nutrients!"

You chuckled, hiding your grin with your palm. "Hiyoko, that's not what they mean."

"Huuuhhh!?"

"You should just eat real fruit." Akane commented.

"Real fruit isn't as good as fruit gummies, so why should I bother!?"

As Akane and Hiyoko went back and forth arguing, you shot Hajime a knowing look. The boy shrugged, and you silently chuckled.

"Hmph, how strange..." Gundham grumbled, glancing around the restaurant, "is Mahiru missing?"

Your brows furrowed as you glanced around the hotel restaurant. "You're...right. Isn't she usually the first one here? Where is she?"

"Is she okay?"

"She's always here every morning, it's strange for her not to come..." Nekomaru gruffly commented.

"I wonder if she is not feeling well..." Sonia mused, albeit nervously.

"If she's not feelin' good, that's fine, but there's a small chance she's..." Kazuichi murmured, trailing off quietly.

"A small chance she's what!?" Hiyoko exclaimed, terror evident in her face at the accusation.

"Has anyone seen her this morning?" You inquired, eager to take the thought of something happening to Mahiru away.

"Hm? I thaw Mahiru, she wath outthide the hotel!" Akane responded through mouthfuls of food. Unintentionally, you let out a small sigh of relief.

"O-Oh...! I see!" Kazuichi giggled nervously.

"Jeez, don't say such a spooky thing." Hiyoko pouted at the mechanic, before her expression turned gleeful. "As punishment, how about you run around in a circle three times, say 'woof', and jump off a cliff!!"

"Hiyoko!" You scolded.

"I-I don't wanna' die like that!" Kazuichi whined.

"But what was Mahiru doing outside the hotel!?" Ibuki asked.

Akane shrugged dismissively after swallowing her last mouthful of food (for time being). "She said she wanted to be alone. I even asked her to come eat with us, but she turned it down."

"...Wanted to be alone?" Peko repeated, questioningly.

"M-Maybe...she's planning to play that game..." Mikan muttered.

"What are you saying, pig barf!?" Hiyoko yelled, accusingly. "There's no way Mahiru would play video games! She's not like that slowpoke gamer girl over there!"

Chiaki stirred. "Ah, were you referring to me?"

"Eeeekk... I am pig barf, aren't I...?" Mikan cried.

You shot Hajime another look, but not as knowing as last time. A look of tension, and almost awkwardness.

"I, uh...I think I'm gonna' go..." You whispered to the boy. He shot you another concerned gaze.

"Why? Are you okay?"

"Nothing's wrong, I remembered I have stuff today and admittedly, I don't particularly like watching Hiyoko berate Mikan over nothing..." You explained, chuckling. "See ya' later."

Before fully leaving, you went back over to the buffet table to grab more toast and milk, for a certain someone.

"Bye (F/N)." The boy smiled as you inconspicuously exited the hotel restaurant after grabbing the food. At your absence at the table, another figure took the chance to sit across from the green-eyed boy.

"...Hey, you're pretty close with Miss (F/N), aren't ya'?"

"Uh...yeah, I guess you could say that..." Hajime murmured in response. "Why do you ask, Kazuichi...?"

"No reason...she's pretty awesome though, right?!" Kazuichi's eyes lit up, before he leaned forward and gestured Hajime to do the same. "I need a favor from you..."

Admittedly, you knew you had stuff to do. That is what you told Hajime.

Also admittedly, you didn't really want to do it...

You already went to go see and feed Nagito. This time being far more uneventful than the last considering the two of you had already talked less than 12 hours prior.

The other thing was Sonia's get together at 4. All girls on the second beach-house. It's not like you didn't want to go...

You didn't have a bathing suit.

You glanced at the clock in the corner of your room. Almost 9:45

"When did I start waking up this early...?"

"I guess when I got basically kidnapped, forcefully put on an island with a crazy bear who wakes us up at 8:30, that's when."

You sighed, turning on your back to face the ceiling of your bed, "When was the last time I slept in? Surely, before I got here..."

A few minutes of sleep won't hurt, right? My only thing before 4 today is getting a bathing suit somewhere, I'll be fine if I doze off for a bit...

'A bit' stood true to it's name, because a few minutes later, you hear a soft knocking at your door.

You peaked open one eye, wondering if you heard it correctly. It was soft. "Maybe I just imagined it."

Less than a minute later, it came again. Mildly annoyed, you opened both of your eyes and sat up from your bed, stretching your arms upward. "Nevermind. It's real. Who is it?"

You opened the door, in front of it being Chiaki, with her knuckle getting ready to knock on the door once again.

The gamer puffed out her cheeks. "There you are. I was worried when I saw you leave the restaurant..."

Your annoyed feeling went away in an instant, a bemused smile tugging at your lips. "Sorry. I didn't want to make a fuss about me leaving." You lightly rapped your fingers on the side of your cabins dormframe. "Did you...need something from me?"

Chiaki shook her head softly. "Not really. But...I was wondering if you wanted to hang out." The muave haired girl smiled. "Sonia told you about the get-together she was having with just the girls, right?"

You nodded. "Four p.m., at the second island's beach?"

Chiaki nodded. "Well, I don't have a swimsuit yet, and I also wanted to pick up some snacks. I was wondering if you'd want to come along with me." She smiled, while also shuffling her feet. "I don't know if you have a swimsuit yet or anything, I just...wanted to spend some time with you. I haven't yet."

You smiled fondly at the girl. "I was actually going to go get a swimsuit in about..." You looked back in your room, at the clock, "ten minutes.  I totally don't mind going with you now!"

Chiaki's cheeks puffed up as she smiled. "Awesome...! Um, c'mon, let's get going." Chiaki urged you out of your cabin, as you obliged.

"I don't even know if Rocketpunch sells swimsuits..." You mused, upon entering the automatic doors of the market.

"Well, I know they sell wetsuits, so they probably sell bathing suits too..." Chiaki murmured, weaving through the isles as you clumsily caught up to her.

"I was right...!" She softly exclaimed, coming upon a rack of swimsuits hidden behind the massive rack of west suits. "It doesn't look like there are many left...only about five of them..."

"The other girls must've gotten to them earlier." You theorized, as Chiaki nodded. "Well, I don't see why we shouldn't take all of them." You said, picking up a black two-piece.

"Why do none of them have sizes? Is it one size fits all? Does that even exist in swimsuits?"

"Hmm..." Chiaki's silent mumbling grew you out from your thinking. You cycled through the other two swimsuits on your side. You picked at one of them.

"Hm, orange isn't really my color,  but this blue one is really nice."

"There's a pretty white one over here if you'd like it, (F/N)." Chiaki called, as you picked the blue swimsuit from the rack and hung it over your forearm. You walked over to her.

"Ooh, yeah, that is cute. Thanks, Chiaki." You smiled, as she gave a dismissive wave.

"Are you ready?" You asked her, and she nodded.

"There aren't that many, so I'm just picking out this other white one." She explained. "What did you pick?"

"I found a really nice blue one, and also the white one you pointed out."

"Did you leave the black one?"

"Yeah, didn't really like the straps on it. Also, there's a small chance another girl didn't get a swimsuit in time, so I left it just in case."

"That's considerate of you."

You and Chiaki made idle chatter on the way back to the cabins.

"Do you want to come inside? We can try on our swimsuits..." Chiaki offered. "You can take my bathroom. I'll just close all the blinds inside."

"That'd be nice, thanks Chiaki." You smiled, and she smiled back.

"My room might be a little messy though..." She mumbled as she twisted open the doorknob to her cabin.

Her room was mildly messy, the worst thing being her bed. It's covers were bundled up near the bottom, and the pillows were every which way. There were also some open snacks on her bed, and on other surfaces of the room too.

"It's not too bad, plus, I'm not the person to comment on people's cleaning habits." You reassured as she let you enter. "I'll start trying these on."

"Okay."

The layout for all the cabins must've been the same, or relatively similar, because Chiaki's bathroom was in the same space yours was in.

While the white swimsuit Chiaki pointed out to you was very pretty, it was too small for you. You could barely get the bottoms over your thighs.

That left the navy blue one you picked out originally. One, it was basically a perfect fit, and two, it covered just enough that you couldn't be reprehended for public indecency. And basically all of your tattoos were on display. What else could you want? Maybe the only downside would be the top of the suit could only be tied in the back.

"Hey, Chiaki!" You called out through the door, as you admired the swimsuit against your skins complexion.

"...What is it?" The girl called back. "Is something wrong?"

"No, nothings really wrong, but don't you think it's kind of weird how every swimsuit on sale was a two-piece?"

"Oh...you're right, that is kind of weird..." Chiaki mumbled, but loud enough you could hear her through the door. "If you're done changing, you can come out now...! I'm done."

You quirked an eyebrow. "...Are you sure? I'm pretty much...just in a bikini..."

"...Oh. Um... Do you still have your jacket? I'm wearing mine over my swimsuit."

"Uh...okay, Chiaki..." You responded, tugging your jacket over your shoulders. Getting your access clothes in your arms, you exited the girl's bathroom, seeing her sitting on her bed peacefully playing on her gaming console. She had the hood of her jacket up, the cat ears visible.

You smiled, "Your swimsuit looks really nice on you, Chiaki." You complimented, the white giving an off-toned contrast to her already pale skin.

"It's adorable how her tummy pokes out like that."

"What are you playing?" You asked, sitting on the edge of her bed next to her.

"Stardew Valley. Basically, I'm a farmer in this new village. I'm just making a living." Chiaki told, eyes not leaving the game. "It sounds pretty boring but there's a lot more to it...!"

You leaned forwards, seeing Chiaki's character in the middle of a field, planting seeds. "It looks cute."

She looked towards you. "Do you...want to try it?"

Curious, you looked back into her light pink eyes. "Are you sure? I haven't played many video games before, I don't want to mess anything up for you..."

"You can't really mess up in Stardew Valley...!" Chiaki smiled, before turning silent. "...Unless you pick Penny to date. It's hard for someone if they don't know what they're doing..."

"You can date in this game? It's not just about farming?"

"Mhm! You can date, get married, have kids, it's basically a cute 8-bit life simulator in a village."

"That's really cool." You smiled as Chiaki handed you the console, "I promise not to mess anything up too bad as long as you're here."

"Don't worry, I'll be sure to help you."

Time passed with you in Chiaki's dorm, her soft voice instructing you how to play.

"Look, you got her a gift she likes!"

"Thank god. I didn't want to mess up your relationship with her."

"It's not a big deal, I could always fix it later." She smiled, before checking the time on the corner of her console's screen. "Oh, it's almost time for Sonia's event on the second beach. We should get going."

You nodded, and passed her back her console so she could save and turn it off. "Should we change back into our normal clothes?"

Chiaki thought for a moment, before shaking her head side-to-side. "I think we should be fine....we're on an island, anyway. It shouldn't be too weird if we wear swimsuits, especially if we're headed to a beach."

You shrugged, before standing up. "Let me get a bag from my cabin, then we can go." Chiaki nodded, also getting a bag of her own as you left her trailer.

She awaited you outside her own trailer, alternating between standing on her toes and standing on her heels as she waited patiently. She smiled at the sight of you as the two of you began your trek to the second island's beachhouse.

"Do you like swimming, Chiaki?" You asked the girl, in a casual attempt to get to know her better.

The gamer hummed. "Not when I was younger...and I don't really do it in my free time, but it's not bad. I can play Tetris on my gaming console if I don't want to swim...which is probably what I'll do." She answered, before turning to you. "What about you, (F/N)? do you like swimming?"

You chuckled, and scratched the back of your head bashfully. "I also didn't do it much when I was younger...more like at all." You laughed. "Swimming isn't that hard, but I'll probably only stick my feet in the water or just sunbathe."

"We can take turns on Tetris, if you want." Chiaki offered with a sweet smile, and your heart (and face) warmed.

"Sure. My dad used to love Tetris." Your heart grew bittersweet at the thought of your dad.

Will you...ever find out what happened? If he's okay? What if he's not?

Chiaki discerned the look on your face, also giving a small smile. In an attempt to comfort you, she put an arm on your forearm, rubbing softly. You gave her a look of appreciation, setting your other hand on top of yours. Both of your eyes said all that was needed, It's okay and I'm okay.

The two of you continued your walk until Chiaki hummed in discontent, and then she came to a full stop in front of the bridge that connected the islands together. You looked inquisitively at her.

"...I forgot to get snacks while we were at Rocketpunch..." The girl pouted, before looking to you. "I'm gonna' go back and pick them up. You can keep going."

You tilted your head to the side. "You sure?"

Chiaki nodded. "Yep. Just...wait inside of the diner once you get there. So we can meet again and walk."

You shot the girl a thumbs-up. "Got it, Chiaki. See you!"

Chiaki waved, turning back and making her walk towards Rocketpunch. You also continued on your way, crossing the bridge to the second island.

The second island somehow felt much hotter than the first, as you took the open sides of your jacket and started fanning your midsection.

You huffed some air, as your eyebrows knitted together. "I know it's a deserted island, but it's like this part's temperature just increased tenfold from the first. Super weird and super sucky." You sighed. Luckily, the diner's spinning pig was in your view.

"Nobody should be here, right? I'll be fine if I take off my jacket. It'll be cool in there." You thought, as you began shrugging the garment off your shoulders, pushing open the diner doors with your hip.

"It really is air conditioned in here, wow-" "Heeeeeyyyy, (F/N)!! You came just wearing a swimsuit!! That's so bold."

The enthusiastic call of your name caused you to jump and almost drop your bag of spare clothes. Startled, you looked up from what you were doing and saw Ibuki, Mikan, Kazuichi and Hajime all inside the diner already.

You chuckled. "Hey." You shrugged your jacket back on your shoulders upon seeing so many people. "What are you guys doing here? 'Didn't expect anyone else to be in here."

"W-We're just sp-spending our time here, w-waiting..." Mikan stuttered, lightly nervous. "I-I-I'm s-sorry if th-this is rude, (F/N), b-but why are y-you in just a swinsuit..." Mikan squeaked, before nervously waving her hands in front of her. "I-I don't mean to sound rude! I-I-I'm just wondering...!"

"I am definitely not complaining about it!" Ibuki sang, skipping over to your side.

You chuckled, leaning against the closest table to the three others. "Well, to be fair, it wasn't really my original intention. Walking around in just a two-piece, with just my regular shoes and jacket, I mean. I was coming with Chiaki but she took a detour back at Rocketpunch, and she convinced me that since it's technically an island, there was really no issue in just being in a swimsuit." You shrugged. "I guess she's right. But, speaking of Chiaki, what're the two of you doing here?" You asked, a questioning look on your face pointed towards the two boys. "...Having dinner?"

Both of the boys glanced at the completely empty table they were in front of, before turning back to you, cheeks heating up. "U-Um- We-" Hajime began stuttering, before Kazuichi jumped out from his seat and began moving his arms wildly.

"Miss (F/N)!! Hajime an' I just happened to conveniently come across Mikan and Ibuki while they were conveniently on their way to the second island's beach house....conveniently." Kazuichi spewed, making you suspiciously quirk your eyebrow. The mechanic noticed, and his faced paled.

"Okay..." You chuckled.

"Don't think I forgot what you said about what I'd look like in a two-piece, Kazuichi. You ain't slick. Heh."

"We found out that Mikan and Ibuki were going to the beach with the rest of the girls at the same time we planned to, s-so you s-surely don't mind us intruding...r-right, Miss (F/N)?" Kazuichi stammered, as you shrugged your shoulders.

"It's not really my decision, it's Sonia's, since she's the one who planned it." You told, as Mikan stuttered out a soft "Th-That's what we s-said!"

"It's ultimately Sonia's decision if she let's you guys stick around. I don't mind if you guys do." You smiled, as Kazuichi reciprocated 10x as wide. Immediately, he looked towards Hajime excitedly at your words, as Hajime's eyes then after caught yours.

You smiled at their exchange, before you felt a poking on your thigh. "...What-"

"You have a tattoo!!!" Ibuki gasped, wondrously. She looked up at you the same way a kid looks at their favorite candy.

You giggled, shaking your thigh. "Yeah, Ibuki. I'm a tattoo artist. It'd be...kind of weird if I didn't have any tattoos. This one's my favorite constellation."

Ibuki looked back up at you, the wondrous look in her eyes increasing as she eyes something on your chest. "(F/N) has two tattoos!! You guys!!"

Timidly, Mikan also walked over on your other side, ogling the black and white inkplaced on your chest.

You started full blown laughing. "Yeah. This one's a compass on my heart. Pretty cool, no?"

"Super mega cool!!"

"I have more, if you guys wanna' check 'em out?" You offered, seeing a light form in Mikan's eye and Ibuki's enthusiastic laughing.

"The things needles can do..." Mikan sighed, an awkward smile tugging on her face. "Is truly amazing!!"

"Ohmygod, you guys should see my back, hold on-" You gasped, leaning away from the table to fully shrug off your jacket. You were adjusting the bottom of your swimsuit before the diner door opened. You turned around.

"My, my, how disappointing, I told (Y/N) to come here 'cause I thought we'd be the only ones in here..." Chiaki sighed, eyeing everyone inside the diner. "I'm sorry, (F/N)..." She apologized, as you waved it off.

"Woaahh, Chiaki's also only wearing her swimsuit!" Ibuki gasped excitedly.

"I didn't want to carry it with me, it'd be a serious burden. Plus, we're going to a beach already, and we're on a deserted island, so it shouldn't be too weird to wear swimsuits..." Chiaki responded to the buzzing musician.

"Did you get those snacks from Rocketpunch you wanted to get?" You asked the girl. She softly shook her head.

"Not really snacks, but I brought ice cream...!" Chiaki told, smiling.

"N-Not that I'm going to turn it down, but... i-ice cream is totally differen't f-from just snacks...." Mikan peeped, softly.

"One could make the argument that ice cream is more filling that just snacks..." You commented.

"Oh...! I was also thinking of stuff we could do at the beach, so I bought a board game, too!" Chiaki smiled. "But we can totally still play Tetris together, (F/N)."

"I can never turn down Tetris."

"For someone normally so quiet to wear such a daring swimsuit, it makes you a little excited...right, Hajime?" You vaguely heard Kazuichi murmur to your brunette friend.

"U-Um...Well, I don't know..." Hajime responded, tentatively.

"Jeez, not to mention, Miss (F/N) looks totally amazing too! It's making my inner thoughts come true! Soon enough..." Kazuichi's voice trailed off lower than you could hear, before you heard Hajime sigh.

"Yeah... She does look pretty nice...wait, Kazuichi-"

You chuckled. "Typical boys."

"Hey, (F/N), why did you take off your sweater?" Chiaki asked. "You were kind of awkward when it was just us two, so why now with more people...?"

You shrugged at the gamer. "Ibuki started ogling at my tattoos, and I was about to show them the one on my back before you came in." You responded. "You wanna' see?"

Chiaki nodded as she set her stuff down on the nearest both, and you turned around to let the five others look at you back while also making sure any hair didn't cover it on accident.

"Large pair of angel wings. Pretty cool, no?"

"Woah..." "Super cool!!" "Haaahhh...."

"No way! Did you do that yourself, Miss (F/N)?!" Kazuichi beamed, also ogling at the design on your back.

"I helped with the design of it, but most of it was designed by my dad. He was also the one who put it on me." You smiled. "I was...uh...fifteen? Fifteen, when I got it."

"F-Fifteen seems v-very young to have a tattoo as complex as this one!" Mikan exclaimed.

"I got the constellation on my thigh when I was thirteen, did that one myself, actually. Got the compass right after I turned fifteen, angel wings a few months after that, and I got this snake tattoo on my arm a few months before Hope's Peak." You smiled, recalling every experience.

You felt someone tug your arm, the one with your snake tattoo. You looked over to see Ibuki's eyes sparkling at it. She took the tip of her finger and started tracing the figure line. "Does it hurt when Ibuki touches it!?"

You laughed. "Nah, that one's completely healed by now."

Carefully, you also felt someone tracing the wings on your back. You craned your neck backwards to see Mikan timidly using her fingertip to do so. When she realized she was caught, she yelped and let our a spew of apologies.

You smiled down at her, lightly taking her finger and putting it back where it was, encouraging her to keep going. "Once tattoos heal, they don't hurt. The skin isn't as tender as it was during the inking process or the healing process. It's basically just ink under the layer of top skin; a permanent accessory, if you will. That's why I like them, gives people more individuality."

"Is that why you went into the business, (F/N)?" Hajime asked from his seated position in a booth, not getting out. He rather just...watch from afar.

"I guess so, yeah."

"H-Hey...I kept you guys waitin'..." A voice spoke out accompanied by the opening of diner doors.

Akane stepped through, hand scratching the top of her head, which was currently caked in bright blood. Said bright blood was also trailing down her forehead, chest, and abdomen and also staining her blue and white striped bikini.

Holy shit, Akane...

"H-Holy shit, Akane!!" You exclaimed, hopping up and staring at the girl incredulously.

"H-Hey...! Sorry to...keep you guys waitin'..."

"AAAAAHH! A-Akane!? Wh-What happened to you!?" Mikan squeaked in horror

"A-Are you okay?!" You asked, concerned gaze eyeing the blood trickling down her body.

"Wh-What? I-Is somethin' wrong...? I made sure to wear a swimsuit this time..." Akane mumbled, still scratching her head.

"You're covered in blood!" You exclaimed.

"It wouldn't even be strange if we nicknamed you 'Carrie' right now!" Ibuki commented.

"O-Oh! You're talkin' about these..." The gymnast chuckled blithely. "Heh, on my way over here, I happened to run into coach Nekomaru... And when that happens...I gotta' fight him, y'know!?"

You chuckled in relief, heaving a sigh. "Jesus H. Christ, Akane..."

"A-Are you really all right? Your head...it looks like it's split in half!" Ibuki asked.

"Well, it' ll heal as long as I rub some spit in it, right?"

You facepalmed.

"You're totally playing up the power of human spit!" Kazuichi exclaimed.

Akane smirked. "Hehe! I'm all fired up now... I never knew such a strong opponent even existed!"

Mikan still looked at the tan girl with a terrified expression. "A-Akane! Y-You need to be treated! And you also need your wounds sterilized...!" The nurse went up to the gymnast's side. "Akane, please come with me!" With an unusually forceful demeanor, Mikan pulled Akane into the bathroom.

Kazuichi chuckled nervously. "That's why she's the Ultimate Nurse... Well, it's gonna' be okay if we leave it to her..."

"...What is all this ruckus?" Another voice sighed, as they entered the diners doors.

"Oh, who is it this time?" Kazuichi implored, turning towards the doors, prompting you, Hajime, Chiaki, and Ibuki to do the same.

At the door was a drenched Peko, her hair out of her normal braids and slicked back, as her small black two-piece clung to her skin. She was adjusting the back of her sword as she entered the diner.

Your mouth may or may not have dropped open.

"Hehe, (F/N)'s drooling at the sight of Peko!" Ibuki cackled playfully, as your hands went up to wipe your mouth. Upon finding that she was actually just jesting, you send her a (false) aggravated look.

"Hajime and Kazuichi... Why are you two here?" Peko inquired.

"Hey... Aren't you breathing pretty heavily?" Kazuichi pointed out.

"...I just did a little swimming."

"A little swimming..." Hajime repeated, the tone in his voice being incredulous and slightly suspicious.

"I swam around the island for about three hours." Peko informed, making your eyebrows furrow together.

"Is it possible for a single person to be able to swim around for three hours...?"

"That's too obvious for me not to comment on! That's definitely not a 'little swimming'!" Ibuki commented

"So...three hours swimming as in....three hours consecutive swimming?" You asked the grey-haired girl.

"And why were you already swimming!? You guys were already about to swim now, right!? Isn't that why you're all meeting up?" Kazuichi asked in a slew.

"I wasn't swimming for my own enjoyment... I was trying to see if I could swim to a different island." Peko answered, whilst dodging your own question to her completely. "But, I couldn't find any other islands. It seems it may be difficult to leave this island by swimming..." She sighed.

"If you didn't see anything after you swam for three hours... It's more than difficult, it's impossible..." Hajime mumbled.

"But that brings me back to my question. Did you swim for three hours, as in, 90 minutes out and 90 minutes back, or did you just swim for three hours..." You asked once again, eyes searching Peko's. Discreetly, the girl bit the inside of her cheek.

"I...swam for three hours."

"Uh huh, Peko."

"Whatever." You thought to yourself, as you hoisted your body to sit on top of one of the booth's tables, and as Kazuichi started murmuring something to Hajime again. Something about women with 'wet, slicked back hair'.

"And this body too, man..." Ibuki added from right next to you.

"Oh, yeah. Ibuki has exceptional hearing." You recalled, as Kazuichi figuratively jumped three feet into the air at Ibuki's added comment.

"Young ladies are sure well-endowed nowadays... Is that a challenge against all the women in the world?" Ibuki pondered, before letting out an over dramatic sigh. "Fine! Ibuki accepts that challenge with the power of technology! Time to pump these puppies full of silicone!" She announced, theatrically grabbing onto her own chest.

"...Don't say such asinine things." Peko said.

You chuckled. "Yeah, you don't need silicone tits, Ibuki." You told the musician. "Plus, maybe the reason Peko's body looks like that is because of all her training to become the Ultimate Swordswoman. You don't just get that title by pure luck. You gotta' put in the work and training, like the rest of us did for our own titles."

"Anyway, it looks like everyone is almost here...and it's already past 4 pm..." Kazuichi commented.

"If that's the case, then the only person missing is..." Chiaki commented, before being interrupted.

"Ah, I am terribly sorry for my delay."

Sonia walked in, her usual hairdo changed into a ponytail and her usual black bow left out. She walked in wearing a black, pink, and white wetsuit from Rocketpunch and a happy smile on her face.

"Lookin' nice, Sonia." You commented happily, as she gave you her appreciation.

"Gyaaaaah! It's a wetsuit!" Kazuichi exclaimed.

"It is to prevent sunburn. I do not want my skin to be sun damaged." Sonia told the surprised mechanic. "However, as I have never worn a wetsuit before, I had a hard time putting it on, which resulted in my delay... Really, it is 'my bad'."

As Kazuichi began muttering to himself (again), you faced the blonde-haired girl. "No need to worry about it, Sonia. A few of us have already been waiting a bit."

"Thank you for your reassurance, (F/N)!" Sonia thanked, before turning to the two out of place boys. "Um...anyway, why are you two here?"

"...I'll be honest. If you're going to go to the beach, please let us come with you!" Kazuichi pleaded. Sonia tilted her head to the side, an (awkward) apologetic look on her face.

"Well...this was originally supposed to be a girls-day only outing to strengthen our friendship with each other..." Sonia informed, as Kazuichi pleaded once again.

"Well, I think it's okay if they're there. It's not like there'd be any problems even if there are some boys." Chiaki commented. Sonia then looked towards you for your opinion.

"I can think of three." "I told them I didn't mind if they were there or not, but it's ultimately up to you, Sonia."

"If that's the case...then they can stay. They walked and waited here all this time, it'd be rude to make them leave." Sonia stated.

"Wow! Thank you Miss (F/N) for swaying Sonia's opinion! You're sososo kind!" The pink-haired boy exclaimed, before his expression turned determined. "All right! Now that it's decided, let's get going!" He exclaimed again.

"But Akane's wounds are still being treated..." Hajime muttered out.

"Shut up! There's no way I can just stand around! I-I'll go on ahead and prepare!" Kazuichi yelled. "I'll set up the parasol, and prepare the drinks... I mean it, I promise to give it my all to serve you so everyone has fun!"

With an abnormal about of excitement, Kazuichi bolted out of the diner, leaving everyone to stare at where he previously was.

"U-Um..." Hajime uttered. "I-I...I should go help Kazuichi, too..." Hajime finished, as he, also, bolted out of the diner, almost tripping over his own shoes.

"Well, if I was a teenage guy, I'd also feel a little awkward in a restaurant just full of girls in bikinis...But I kind of think that's the whole point of strip bars. But this isn't a strip bar."

You shrugged.

"(F/N), do you mind if I inspect the art on your arm?" Sonia asked, her eyes fixated on your tattoo. You smiled, lifting up her arm for her to take it.

"Go ahead."

"What is that on your back?" Peko asked carefully.

"A back tattoo. Do you wanna' check it out?" You offered the girl, as she slowly stepped forward while also keeping a respectable amount of distance between the two of you.

The time spent like that was peaceful, as Sonia gave you your praises for your work and as Peko gazed appreciatively as the designs you made.

However, peace was never a stagnant quality on this island.

"*Ding dong, bing bong.*"

Your blood paled, as you nervously looked towards the TV in the corner of the diner. The rest of the girls did the same.

Monokuma appeared in his regular chair, and regular drink.

"A body has been discovered!

Your heart stopped. You felt a wash of cold go over you. No...

"Now then, after a certain amount of time has passed, the class trial will begin!"

"N-No...s-surely not..." You chuckled nervously.

"Oh, god..." Chiaki mumbled, sadly.

"Everyone." Peko called out, her face stern. "Take turns changing, we need to find the body."

You nodded nervously, before you remembered. "A-Akane and Mikan are still in the bathroom, we don't have anywhere else to change..."

"I-Ibuki can go investigate!" Said girl exclaimed. "I-I'm sure nothing happened and Monokuma's just playing a biiiiiig prank on everybody! S-Surely! E-Everyone wait here, I-I'll be back!"

Ibuki sprinted out of the diner, and made her way towards the beachhouse.

Sighing nervously, and your hands shaking, you took your regular skirt out of your bag and slipped it on over your legs.

"I can't get in trouble if I'm technically not changing clothes. 'Cause I'm not swapping anything out." You reasoned aloud, anxiously waiting for Ibuki to come back.

Eventually, she did, a horrified look in her eye. At this point, Akane and Mikan had finally finished up with the formers wounds. Mikan was extremely nervous whereas Akane was casual.

"E-Everyone! G-Get changed and head to the beachhouse, quick! ASAP! IMMEDIATELY!!" Ibuki exclaimed, before she ran out. Everyone still inside the diner looked at each other.

"O-Okay, um...Peko, you take the bathroom because you still need to dry off. The rest of us can try and more discreetly change... Mikan can already go on to the beachhouse like Ibuki said..." Your voice got quieter and quieter, as the severity of the potential situation got to you.

Mikan nodded her head nervously before she stepped out too. Peko went to the bathroom whilst you, Akane, Chiaki, and Sonia tried to find a discreet changing place.

You pushed the diner door open and speed-walked to the beachhouse while the other girls were still in the midst of changing.

"Please, please don't let it be true. The first one was already bad. I know these people now. Made friends with these people now. It's not true...right?"

You passed by the first door and rounded to the entrence by the beach. To think, that you could've been relaxing there, having fun with some other members of the island had it not been for the instance you'd been fearing for the worst.

You slammed the doors of the beachhouse open, catching Hajime and Kazuichi inside, both of which jumped at your entrance.

Your breathing was deepened because you rushed to the beach. Kazuichi looked frightened at you whilst Hajime looked apologetic. Both of their gazes turned to the side...

And that's when you saw it.

A baseball bat with a prominent blood splatter near the top. Smeared blood across the floor leading up to a green pair of shoes and socks. Completely still legs, which lead to a green dress and a hanging red-plaid tie. Bright red hair, caked with blood and smeared completely on the door behind it, and the floor below it. The floor which had an oddly placed, bright mask of a smiling girl.

Your heart sank into the soles of your boots.

Mahiru Koizomi, the Ultimate Photographer, the one who gave you company and the one who captured those happy moments...

Was dead.
