CHAPTER SEVEN

————————————

Jungkook jumped out of his sleep from the person knocking at his door like a crazy person. He tossed and turned in bed for a minute before looking at the time. It was only twelve in the afternoon and whatever rest Jungkook got, he was going to take it. There was a momentary pause from the knocking. Jungkook dozed off for a moment before another loud knock startled him.

He tripped trying to put on his bunny slippers and shuffled his way over to his door. The closer he got, the louder the knocking was.

He groaned before opening the door. "Who the—Ezra?" The red haired, hyper active girl in front of him smiled widely and pushed her way past him.

"Kookie, I never thought you were one to sleep in." She made her way over to the kitchen while Jungkook was still looking at the other side of the hallway.

"Never thought you were one to sleep shirtless either. My little bunny has a six pack now?" Ezra smirked and grabbed the grapes from his fridge.

Jungkook's face turned red as he tried to cover his chest with his arms and closed the door. "Your little bunny was sleeping peacefully before you got here." He chuckled. Ezra liked how natural he was when he was half asleep. He didn't seem so tense around her.

"Do I have bed head or something? You're looking at me like you've seen your ex." Jungkook laughed.

Ezra forced out a laugh to cover up the fact she was checking him out. She found it hard not to stare. Ezra thought he was all nerd but underneath all that nerd was a bodybuilder. The little boy she once knew wasn't so...little. His body was new while his personality was still lovable.

Jungkook walked over to her and leaned against the counter the opposite of her. Ezra mistakenly looked down and saw he was wearing sweats. She almost choked on a grape and covered it up with a cough.

"So are you just gonna keep staring at me or tell me why you're here?" Jungkook spoke and she could finally breathe.

Ezra jumped off the counter. "I can't check up on an old friend?"

"Not unless you're on the run. Parents finally caught you?" Jungkook chuckled and Ezra playfully punched his arm (which seemed to hurt more than it should).

"My parents know where I am. It's just on them to actually make time out to see me. You know how they are Kookie. There heads are so far up their own ass they can't smell the bullshit."

Jungkook scratched the back of his neck before sighing. Ezra leaned forward, her elbows resting on the counter while Jungkook reached for a bottle of water.

"I know that but hey, you lived out your teenage years. I still haven't had my first kiss yet." He laughed and a light bulb went off over Ezra's head. She spun around and skipped her way over to him. Jungkook turned around startled with his back against the fridge.

"We can change that." They made eye contact and Jungkook's ears were blazing. He gripped the water  bottle in his hand before biting his lip. He raised an eyebrow before placing the water down next to him and placing his hands in his pockets. His posture and demeanor changed; his height overpowering Ezra's.

"Is this your way of asking me out?"

Not only was he completely oblivious to what she meant but he was also adorable. Ezra started laughing, tears brimming in her eyes before she sighed and wiped them off. Instead of getting him worked up, Jungkook seemed nonchalant. Ezra needed a good comeback.

"And if I was?" She took a step closer to him, her chest pressing up against his. Ezra was known for the 36D's that was the talk among the jocks, nerds and the staff (which she thought was fucking gross).

"Gotcha now," She thought with a grin. Jungkook couldn't move, his mouth dropped in awe. If she moved the slightest he would surely crack under the pressure. Ezra felt a sudden chill down her spine when Jungkook took a deep breath in. His jaw tightened and body tensed.

"Don't get the chitters on me now bunny boy. We have a whole day planned ahead of us." Ezra decided to end his suffering and move away from him. Jungkook let out a heavy sigh and remained in his spot.

"Well? Hurry up and go get changed."

"Changed for what exactly?"

Ezra looked at him with a maniacal smile.

"Your extreme makeover."

JUNGKOOK

It was hard to walk when my hormones were urging their way down to my pants. I never knew I could feel such a blood rush from just being around the girl I have a crush on. Correction, around a girl I've been obsessed with ever since we were kids.

Ezra is walking ahead of me, pulling me into the mall and eyeing every shop we pass by meanwhile my eyes were wondering too much for my liking. It was that foolish male thing I quickly stopped when I noticed it.

I don't remember exactly what we came here for but I do remember that I have to cover this up or I'm not getting out of this embarrassed. I wore a large flannel button up with loose jeans. At least this way I can blame it on my phone. We finally stop when we approach a tattoo parlor that was partially full.

"Oh hell no. Ezra! What are we doing here?" I asked and hesitantly walked in. It smelled oddly nice for a place that looked like a dungeon. The floor was checkered and walls filled with tattoo designs. Ezra laughed at me amusingly while I freaked out from the thought of a needle touching my skin.

"Don't worry. It'll feel like a bee sting." She smiled and now I was hyperventilating. "I uh—"

"Ezra, you're late."

I got chills from the masculine voice that came outta nowhere. I was surprised to see someone the same height as her, a guy with his ears practically butchered by piercings. He was shorter than I was but had this intimidating look I didn't want to mess with.

"Who's the boy-next-door?" He said while looking at Ezra. "This better be the client you were talking about. He looks like he needs it."

"Need what exactly?" I mistakenly asked and the smirk on both their faces scared the life out of me (literally wanted to faint on the spot). They end up walking to the back of the shop and I yet again, mistakenly follow.

"By the way Ezra did someone buy you that shirt or give it to you?" The blue-haired man said while taking us down a hallway similar to the one at the dorm, doors on each side.

"No, why?"

"Please tell me you didn't actually buy that thing." Ezra scoffed and followed him through the oak wood door. It seemed like his room cause of the amount of matching rings on the statues.

"And what if I did?"

"You better have that receipt cause that shit is disgusting." He chuckled and Ezra's nose flared. She playfully hit them while I was standing behind with my hands hiding in the sleeve of my shirt.

I sort of zoned off watching them, how natural they're around each other. The only connection I have with Ezra is the fact that we grew up with each other but even then I never opened up to her. Never told her about why my parents left, how I found out, all of it.

I wanted to tell her.

I want to tell her.

"Alright bunny boy, where do you want it?" He asked and I wasn't even paying attention to see he was sitting down with the tattoo gun in his hand. I nearly fainted when I saw the point.

"E-Ezra I never agreed to this."

Ezra looked up at me while she put her phone in her back pocket. "Jimin will take care of you, you're gonna be fine. Remember how I got my first tattoo?"

"You got the beating of your life."

"Yeah, but I never regretted it. The tattoo, yeah, but not what I did," She smiled.

"You have to live without any regrets Kookie. You're gonna be old and rich with two kids asking yourself 'why' all the time. You're gonna end up regretting not doing it."

Her points were valid but I could hear my grandparents yelling in my head, correcting me and training me to say no to this. I took in a deep breath before exhaling slowly and finally relaxing. I looked over at the tattoo artist and then back at Ezra.

"Let's do it," I chimed and Ezra squealed.

"What's the worse that could happen?"

***

"My scalp feels like it's on fire." I hiss and try not to scratch the hair off my head. The moisturizer was the only thing keeping me one step away from going bald.

"You look amazing! What're you talking about?" Ezra couldn't stop running her hands through my hair, it was cute and the only form of touch I can deal with from her. If it was anything else I would have probably fainted.

Instead of getting my first tattoo, we got to dye my hair. They were only scaring me from the real surprise to get their fun out of it. They got their fun alright because I was really going to get a sleeve on my right arm. Maybe sometime in the future I'll have the balls to do it.

"You look hotter than you did before," Ezra wrapped her arms around mine. I push the feeling of her chest on my arm out of my mind and smile. I chose red but it was a cherry red that wasn't too bright but subtle. Okay maybe not so subtle but it seemed lively (something I'm not).

"Yeah well—wait. Did you just call me hot?"

"Oh look the fair!" Ezra completely ignored my question and rushed off toward the crowd by the fields uptown. The fair was really hard to catch around this time because it was always packed with tourists and college kids sneaking on rides.

We eventually got in and the first thing Ezra says is, "I don't have any money left."

"Then why are we here?" I asked, shoving my hands in my pockets. With my new hair, I felt like people began to stare at me more.

"I saw the ferris wheel and decided I wanted on."
Ezra pouted like a kid who didn't get her candy.

"I have like five dollars."

"Perfect. I bet I can bribe the guy to get us on with five bucks." She rolled up her sleeves and huffed.

"I'm not so sure—"

"Hush. You never know until you try."

"We tried." Ezra shrugged.

I put the five dollars back into my pocket. "Maybe if the fair is open we can go again, with money this time."

Ezra clapped when she seemed to cheer up. "Let's!
We can try to invite some other friends too

I nodded.

"I'll see you tomorrow then, Kookie?" Ezra asked, putting her hand on my shoulder.

Okay, she's teasing me now. Obviously I was showing too many emotions, especially today.

I nodded again, feeling the urge to hug her. The thought of her chest against mine made me want to yelp and do a weird dance. She left before I got the chance to wrap an arm around her, and so I sulked back to my dorm.

I walked into my and headed straight for my shower. I was surprised by how quiet it is and then remembered Namjoon was out doing God knows what.

Probably having sex or at some party I didn't know about.

Either way, I learned not to care about Namjoon's whereabouts unless he didn't show up in the next twenty-four hours. I decided to shower quicker than usual so I could study in a little session before classes tomorrow.

Spending almost all day with Ezra was worth it, but it was so much fun I forgot I had homework (which rarely happens).

The front door shuts as I shut off the shower. It's only seven and Namjoon is already home?

I sloppily rub my new red hair in the towel to slightly dry it, then wrap the towel around my waist.

The door to my room opens as I grab my clothes off the ground. He's probably looking for something he misplaced again.

I open the door of the bathroom, shutting off the light behind me.

Then someone gasps and I look up and almost shit myself and scream. A small brunette girl screams along with me. I race out of the room, going to find my stupid roommate.

"Kim Namjoon! What the hell did I say about calling me before bringing people over?!"
