2.
After class, I went over to my locker to grab a few things. As I dug through it, I heard someone clear their throat next to me. I looked up and saw the boy from class, smiling at me.
"Hey." He said, leaning on the desk next to mine.
I waved a bit.
"I'm Ethan." He said.
I smiled a bit, then showed him my notebook, which I had written my name on.
"Ella.." he said. "Cute name. Fits you."
I blushed a little and looked at my shoes.
"Aw, I didn't mean to make you shy." He said.
I closed my locker, and waved at him, then turned to leave.
He grabbed me by the shoulder and turned me around. "Hey, do you...wanna go to a party tomorrow tonight with me?" He asked. "Just a bunch of teens being crazy."
I shrugged.
Doesn't seem like something I'd want to do, I thought.
"Come on, you'll have fun." He said.
I shook my head, starting to walk away.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him.
"Hey, you're cute, and I want my friends to meet you." He said.
I started breathing heavily, starting to have another panic attack.
No...not now...
"Hey.." I heard from behind me.
Ethan let me go, and I turned to see a blue eyed boy walking over.
"Hey.." Ethan Said.
"What were you doing?"
"I was just talking to her, and she started freaking out." He Said.
Ethan shot me a glare, then walked over to the other guy. "I wouldn't talk to her if I were you."
He left, and the guy looked over at me.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded, trying to catch my breath. I felt a little lightheaded, and fell on the floor.
He rushed over to me.
"Oh no! What's wrong?" He asked.
I reached for my notebook which had slid across the floor, turned through the pages frantically, and scribbled, panic attack.
"Oh!" He said. "Um...I don't know what to do in this situation...think of something happy?"
He helped me sit up, and I tried to think of something happy, but bad memories from my past started to come back.
I curled up into a ball, and he hesitated, then wrapped an arm around me.
"Shh...it's okay.." he said. "Just think of rainbows...match your breathing to mine."
I attempted to copy his slow, calm breathing, and laid my head on his chest.
His breath hitched in his throat for a second when I did so, and I felt his body warm up.
Is he blushing? I wondered.
Well, of course he probably was. Some random girl that he's never met is depending on him to keep her from having a major panic attack.
That's not an everyday occurrence.
I stood up quickly, and picked up my stuff from the floor, the boy looking at me confusedly.
"Are you okay..?" He asked, standing up as well.
I nodded a bit, trying to walk past him, but losing my balance and almost falling.
Of course, just to be caught by him.
Our faces were only inches apart, and both of us were blushing like mad.
"Are you okay?" He Asked again. "I mean.."
I pulled away from him and brushed myself off, then turned and ran.
This was officially the worst day of high school.
Ever.
And then lunch came.
I struggled to find a place to sit since none of the kids knew me, and, of course, wouldn't let me sit anywhere near them. The boys from earlier were no where to be found, and I was kind of glad about that, since, I was pretty sure I hated Ethan, and I probably freaked out that other boy earlier.
I ended up going outside to eat, and it was nice.
Just me, nature, and the sound of a fight breaking out by the gym.
Wait.
I turned around, looking towards the gym, my heart beginning to pound in my chest.
I could hear someone throwing punches at someone, and it didn't sound like the person was fighting back.
Should I tell someone? I wondered.
I put my lunch down on the bench that I had been sitting on, stood up, and began making my way over to the gym.
"Stop!" I heard.
I started running, and when I got there, I hid around the corner. I turned to peek the slightest bit, and saw Ethan.
But who was he fighting?
"Hey!" Ethan Shouted. "I know you're there, bitch."
"Don't call her that!"
I came around the corner to see the boy that was with me earlier, covered in bruises and trying to stand up.
"So, What are you doing here, Ella?" Ethan Asked.
I bit my lip.
"You can't speak, can you?"
I felt my bottom lip begin to quiver, and swallowed.
Ethan smiled, then laughed. "And to think I thought you were cute." He said. "I should've known that you were a freak."
The other boy clenched his fists. "Leave her alone." He said sternly.
"Make me." Ethan Said.
He pretty much threw himself at Ethan at that point, throwing punches at him.
Ethan shoved him off, then pushed him up against the the side of the gym.
I grabbed Ethan's shoulder, trying to pull him off, and he pushed me on the ground.
He brought his fist back to punch the blue eyed boy, then the bell rang.
He bit his lip and dropped him.
"I'll Let you go for now.." he mumbled, then walked off.
The blue eyed boy immediately ran over to me, helping me off the ground.
"Are You alright?" He asked.
I nodded, then looked up at him, his piercing blue eyes looking straight into mine.
I reached up and wiped a bit of blood from under his nose, and he blushed a bit.
I looked at him worriedly, and pointed at him, as to ask if he was alright.
He seemed to understand what I meant, because he nodded.
I smiled weakly at him, then turned and ran back to the school building.
