Chapter 4 - Whisked Away
Danielle's POV
"Joey. Joey. Over here." A man says as he comes up beside Joey and I. He gives me a nod and a smile that doesn't exactly seem genuine. "Joey, your attention is required else where."
Joey is suddenly being whisked off by what feels like about half a dozen peole. "What's going on?" Joey asks, I can see the clear confusion in his eyes. This isn't normal.
"Mr. Stamper, it time to sign autographs." One of them says.
Someone else starts combing his hair. "The local newspapers will be here." This man explains, adding, "You want to look your best."
This whirlwind is a bit overwhelming, "Hey Joey, what's up?" I ask, totally confused.
"Apparently," Joey replies, still acting a bit dazed "I want to look my best for the local newspapers?" It's more of a question than a statement, but the people don't stop tugging on him.
"Gotcha. So when are we doing something later?" I call after him, as he's pulled into a room and the door slams in my face before he can respond.
My sister, Reagan, looked at me, her eyes wide. "Who were those people, Dani?"
I responded, "I don't know but I have this feeling..." She looks at me concerned, as I continue, "that they're not here for Joey's schedule management."
"What makes you think that?" Reagan asks.
"For one Joey didn't act like he knew any of those people. And two, the local newspaper is closed for the week."
"How do we find out for sure?" Reagan says ready for action.
"Well I suggest we..." My voice trails off as I whisper my plan to her.
