Acceptance
Two months had passed since Danica met Jack's parents.
She was well-liked in the town, and the kids liked her too.
Danica would even stop by and do some lessons on Pokemon for the kids as they were so interested to learn about them.
Jack can't stop himself from smiling when the kids looked happy to see her and learn from her.
One day he noticed that his hair dye was starting to fade back to brown.
"I didn't know you were a brunette."
He jumped on the spot when he turned around and faced Danica, who still had a smile on her face.
"You didn't tell me you had brown hair, I like it." She said looking curious.
Jack would be sulking if he didn't hear that. "Uh, how are you here?"
"I was on my way to visit you. Your parents let me in and they said they were gonna be gone for a while."
Jack almost cursed at that, but Danica was here, staring at him.
Danica's mom once told her that she had shared one personality trait from her dad, an ability to sense the real emotions of others. While her dad was not smart, mindwise, he was emotionally smart. He was able to tell when someone was seriously hurting and tried to hide it.
"Jack.....You can tell me if you feel like it.....I won't hate you for it...." She carefully said.
He didn't say anything for a while.............
But he reached and stopped Danica from leaving.
He then spent the next hour and a half reflecting on his past.
Danica didn't budge from her spot or intervene in the speech. She just sat and listened. She learned from her mom that it's best to listen when others pour out their emotions as long as it is not abusive to them or other people.
After he was done, Jack, or Joseph, was exhausted. He half-expected for Danica to leave.......
But what she did was the opposite.
She just took his head into her embrace and even Wigglytuff patted his back with a look of concern, making him surprised.
"I understand where you're coming from.......when my Aunt Nami was a little girl, pirates killed her mom right in front of her, and then they perverted her gift of making incredible maps for their personal gain for eight years until my dad saved her. Uncle Sanji was abused by his own family just for not wanting to be a killer, except for his sister who helped him escape. And our doctor, Chopper, he was kicked out of his family just because he was different. And his adoptive father died trying to save his homeland. My mom lost her parents at a young age, and it was hard for her to connect with people outside those she called family despite her friendly demeanor. Until she met my dad, her only friends were her Pokemon as many people wanted to be close to her because of her fame. The rest of my family, aside from my siblings, have hard pasts too. Some worse than others." She said.
"........But, if you didn't do all that, you wouldn't have met anyone here........We wouldn't have met. It's not an ideal way.........but you found a way to improve yourself......when one wants to change, that's when one begins to change.............you're not alone." She embraced Joseph tighter.
He didn't know what to say. Danica didn't recoil from his embrace when he carefully hugged back. Not even when she felt her shoulder get wet. She just smiled and let it pass for the next hour.
----------------------------
Another month passed since that day.
Jack, no, he went by his old name again, Joseph, and he was officially dating Danica as she would get hired by the school to be a new teacher, only she was to teach about Pokemon.
Joesph endured the pain to get his tattoos removed, but Wigglytuff helped him heal. This time, he chose to have a different tattoo.
It was a fairy type symbol in the sun.
And one day, a familiar ship had appeared on the docks.
"Hey! The Thousand Sunny!"
"Wait, isn't that your home?" Joseph asked.
Danica asked as she saw a familiar blur coming.
She dodged out of the way in time.
"-ROCKET! Ah, overdid it!" A man said as he landed in a tree, making the kids laugh.
"Dad! It's nice to see you again, but next time just walk."
"Sorry about that dearie. He was excited." A voice said.
It was Yukiko, and she was in a simple white dress and her hair was now shoulder length, Cleopatra style.
"Hi mom! Oh, right. Mom, Dad, I want you to meet Joseph. He's my new boyfriend."
Joseph was a little nervous to meet them, but Luffy, as friendly as he is, saw how Joseph was liked by the kids, and quickly grew to like him.
------------------
They were all different and had their own quirks.
Zoro had the aura of a warrior, and Joseph was convinced if Drizzle challenged him, he'd lose.
Nami was a very intelligent woman. He even noticed it would rain later before anyone else knew. Kids even asked her how she knew that.
Usopp was very peculiar, and he told stories that sounded unbelievable but they were entertaining.
Sanji was also peculiar as he swooned around Robin and Nami, but he held back on Yukiko as she was married. Rainberry bonded with him over cooking as well.
Chopper was such an adorable thing! And to learn he was a doctor made him even more endearing.
Robin, was a very mature and intelligent woman, especially with her knowledge of history. Cloudy Sue easily got along with her.
Franky was eccentric, but he could be popular with kids as he had an uncle aura about him.
Brook was a surprise as he was a skeleton but a talented musician.
Jinbei was the most surprising as he was a fish-man but still very friendly.
It was hard to believe that Bonney was only 14 when she joined, now she was 37, but with her situation, Joseph could at least understand why she became a pirate.
Then there was the couple among the crew.
They were opposites in almost every way, but they bonded over their love of adventure.
The rest of Danica's siblings seemed to take their relationship in stride too.
Amaris and Aurora, age 22, the twins and the oldest, were easy with Joseph, and Aurora reminded Amaris not to get protective.
Keoka, age 20, being the closest to Danica, he cared for his sister's happiness, but warned Joseph not to hurt her.
Issac, age 14, three years younger than Danica, really didn't know why some of his siblings were uneasy about Danica dating Joseph, but he liked Joseph because he was a fun guy to be with.
Finally, June, age 7, the youngest of the kids, liked playing with Joseph, and didn't mind him dating Danica, as she still didn't know what it meant.
Joseph was at least happy that Danica's family accepted him.
------------------------------
12 years passed since that day................
Joseph was just waking up to the sunlight as he heard little footsteps to his and his wife's room.
"Papa! It's time to get up!" A boy, age 7, said.
"Yeah, Grandpa Luffy and Grandma Yukiko will be visiting today!" A girl, age 5, adds.
"Got it kids. We have to get dressed though." He said as the kids skittered off.
"Huh, wonder how they get all that energy..." He said as his wife got up.
"They are dad's grandkids. They are bound to be energetic. I'll get Luca." Danica said mentioning their 2-year-old son.
Joseph smiled as his wife got ready.
He really was a lucky, happy man now.
--------------------------------
Danica had retired from being a Pokemon coordinator and settled to be a teacher and teach about Pokemon and married Joseph.
Their kids are named Max, Angie, and Luca.
Jack also chose to inherit the Monkey D. into his name; now he's Monkey D. Joseph.
So his kids are...
Monkey D. Max
Monkey D. Angela
Monkey D. Luca.
Now the people of Cloudy Town are harmonizing with Pokemon!
------------------------
Sorry this is a little short, but I was running out of juice...
Next I'll put my attention to Aurora, set after Danica got married to Joseph and when June starts her Pokemon journey. She will be meeting the Lupin Gang!
Who should she end up with? (Zenigata is off limits since it's been mentioned he's married and has a daughter! Fujiko is off-limits, too, as I plan to make her a rival, but in a friendly way.)
Plz vote before the end of the week so I can put something together!
Lupin III
