Long ago, there was a greedy and rich Nightwing, who ordered his servants around cruelly. At this time, all Nightwings were solid black and when they flew, it looked as if there was a hole in the universe. One day, the Nightwing stopped paying his servants, impatiently explaining that he needed to save up his diamonds. After this continued for a week, his servants became angry, and buried their master in diamonds. "Here!" they cried. "Here are all the riches you saved up! We will help you save more - by leaving!" The Nightwing took one week to dig himself out. Diamonds and sapphires became lodged in his wings, and moonstones were stuck by his eyes. No matter how hard the Nightwing tried to pull out the jewels, they stayed a part of him forever. The Nightwing realized that on nights when the moons were full, the moonstones became silver and he developed the abilities to see the future and read minds. From then on, the Nightwing realized how others felt when he treated them badly, and he saw his future if he continued his spoiled path. Because of these powers, the Nightwing became a venerable king who others respected. From then on, all Nightwings have scales like diamonds in their wings, and if they hatch on nights when the moons are full, the moonstones glow and they develop powers like the ones that the first silver-scaled Nightwing had.
