(Jim's Half-Troll Daughter!reader x Steve's Son)

"What do you mean you aren't going?!" You almost squeaked with indignation.

"I don't do social events." The Akiridion prince picks at his fingers nonchalantly.

"But I'm going to be giving a speech!"

"Well, I'm giving you my best wishes aren't I?" Flip gives you a look, his bright neon blue eyes gazing cooly at you. "I know you'll be perfect."

"Remember when you said-"

"That did not include dinner parties babe."

"Oh really? Didn't see the fine print on that one."

You frown and move away from Flip, moving behind a small screen that you changed behind and begin to slip on that black dress your father almost didn't let you buy.

"FINE. If you are going to be like that," You zip yourself up ", Then I'm going to dance with every guy at that party."

"As If Jim would let you."

You laugh, your father, Jim Lake Junior, "Dad would be OVERJOYED that I'm not fussing over you!"

You hear Flip go still and peak your head around the screen, your large pale blue ears flickling a little bit. That got his attention.

"He wouldn't... Wouldn't he?"

You step out from behind the screen, the short, single strapped dress showing off your curved frame and tail. Flip looks over at you and goes ridgid, his four arms going still and his eyes widening. Your black spider web choker going from the base of your neck up to your jaw line.

"Well I hope you have a FABULOUS TIME," You say a little too loudly "BY. YOUR. SELF."

"I didn't know you were gonna go dressed like that!!" He stutters, almost incoherant.

You hear the call of your dad from down stairs, the low grumble that means Mom got him into a tie.... and a suit.

"Good Night Prince Grumpy," You say with a smile, knowing you got him, and walking away.

"(Y/N)! Wait!" And he mutters under his breath.

When you enter the cave where the party is being held, the family name is announced.

"Introducing Mr. and Mrs. James Lake Jr and Family."

You almost roll your eyes when Blinky and his human wife, Annie with her large pregnant stomach, arrive to greet you three. Your Father, Mother and yourself. Jokes are shared between your perfect couple parents about how hard it was to get a suit and tie on your father.

You almost miss the announcement of "Prince Flip Palchuck of Akiridion-5!'

You look up at it, smiling as the prince fixes his cuffs, making his way over to you.

"Meoww" You tease and hear your father shout.

"WATCH IT YOUNG LADY!!"

You make your way up to him and fix his tie "I'm glad you changed your mind."

He smiles and wraps his arms around you, his hand resting above your tail where you loved him to hold you. You could almost feel your father's gaze bruning through you and into Flip. He smiles.

"I'm sorry about earlier, I came to make it up to you."

His four arms wrap around you and he presses his light blue lips to you forehead. You let out a small purr as he runs two hands up you exposed back. He has to be flipping off Jim from behind you. You toss your raven black hair back over his hand on you back and smile.

Jim and Claire walk over to the two of you and your mother catches your downy soft arm. You turn ot her and smile. Her soft face is always friendly towards the prince. Your father on the other hand is less so. His scruffy grown out beard should have hid his scowl but it seemed to move around to reveal it.

"Flip."

"Mr. Lake, Mrs. Lake, It's very lively to see you." 

Flip spoke in the way he would have talked to his uncle Krel or his mother Aja. His voice is respectful and kind. Jim frowns and huffs ", YOu better not try anything with my little girl."

"Wouldn't dream of it sir."

Jim glares and you step between your father and boyfriend. Clair moves to do the same but BLinky grabs your arm before you can help your mom. You smile at the Sixyed troll as he drags you to the mouth of the secondary moth of the cave. 

The secondary mouth opened for an open-sea view, a tall wooden stand where you were to give a speech. You felt nerves crawl in you stomach but you push it back. You stand at the wooden stand and sigh into the mic, words formin in you head and heart.

"Good Evening Everyone."

Quiet falls over the rumbling cave.

"Good Evening Friends – A warm welcome to everybody at my house party!

I am extremely happy at this moment and cannot hide my happiness as we all are meeting after a very long time. Even though we always remain in touch over the phone and catch up with each other in a scattered form, but not as an entire group. Hence, today I am so glad that we get to meet each other as a group under one roof after many-many years.

Our friendship has always been very special and our group used to be the object of envy not only for our classmates, but for the entire college too. Despite the fact that there were other big groups, but it's only our group of seven people that always used to attract maximum number of eyeballs. Am I not right guys? During our college days, the way we loved each other, we also fought with each other with equal intensity, but never drew apart. We continued to remain united even at the worse possible scenario and this is the only reason why we are still together after having finished our college long five years back.

You must be wondering why am I giving a speech on togetherness! We may not realize this, but let me tell you friends that it's one of the biggest strengths of any relationship. We all know that "Unity is Strength" and any civilization can face a steep decline if its people do not stand united. Hence, we should realize the major strength of our relationship and from where it draws its source of life, i.e. Unity or our willingness to remain together under any compelling circumstances, so that we can cherish it for our lifetime.

In fact, after having gained enough exposure of the corporate sector or the outside world for that matter, I have come to value our friendship even more and if we could become an example for others and spread the message of unity and oneness across, then the world would become a haven in itself. No matter where we go, if we have this quality in ourselves to remain united with our family and loved ones, we should then always try to implant this quality in the humanity at large.

After witnessing the rising incidents of violence, murder, road rage, etc; my consciousness has been shaken to the core. Other than these horrifying incidents, on a day to day basis, I find people overtly manipulative, shrewd and hypocritical, who can harm the other person for their selfish motives. It is so unfortunate that our country which used to be an ideal epitome of "Unity in Diversity" is experiencing nerve wrecking cases of blood bath and man slaughter. It's high time that we teach ourselves the value of compassion, love, humility and tolerance and understand that conflict or wars only destroys and never mends things.

It's only by remaining united that we can understand its importance and prevent our society from falling into a deep abyss from which there will be no escape. I hope our friendship just grows stronger and stronger with time and we also continue to spread the message of unity and togetherness.
