(AAARRRGGH x Half-Troll!Reader)

You were screaming in your sleep again. Your cries pierced the echoing walls of the sewers where you and your made had made your home. You were having a nightmare, watching your mother and father get torn apart by trolls who hated the inter-species relationship. Your screams tore at your throat, but you still slept through the tearing in your throat. 

On a normal night, AAARRRGGH would wake you up and hold you in his strong arms while you run your hands through his green collar of fur, relaxing and falling back asleep with him. But tonight was different. 

AAARRRGGH was on a mission with Toby. 

You felt yourself turning in your sleep and heard your own screams. You wished for AAARRRGGH to wake you up, you wanted to be in his huge arms, watching as his green glowing patterns dimmed as he fell asleep.

That's when you felt him, huge hands were shaking you, saying your name quietly.

"(Y/n)," AAARRRGGH ", (Y/n) Wake up, now."

You started awake. Your screams stopped and the tears in your eyes were stinging you. AAARRRGGH pressed his nose against yours and wrapped his arms around you, holding you tightly. 

"A-Aaarrrgghamont," You whisper and bury your face in the fur around his neck ", Oh Grace, Aaarrrgghamont."

"What wrong?" AAARRRGGH asks you stroking your long hair with his big hand, his fingers brushed your ears and you shivered ", Cold?"

Yes, you were cold. But AAARRRGGH already knew that because he began to curl himself around you. You gave a shuddering smile as he presses against you, your jaw trembled with cold and fear. 

"Thanks, AAARRRGGH." You whisper with a smile and bury your nose into his chest. He doesn't say anything when you start to cry, just nudges your head with his nose. You inhale deeply and sigh.

"Want to talk?" AAARRRGGH says with a deep purring.

"I miss my mother," You say with a choking sob ", I miss my father too."

"I know," AAARRRGGH says and his hands rest on your stomach ", It's okay to miss."

"I know," You say with your hand over your face ", I just... I just wish I could see them again."

"Have memories," AAARRRGGH says with a shrug ", Memories help.  You have me. Have memories, tell me."

"I don't remember them that much," You say ", I was just a kid when they were killed. I don't remember much before that."

"Try."

You close your eyes again, focusing on your mother's face how you remember it. Her face was long, narrow, but you always remembered the screaming. Your father too, you only remember his kruberan face, yelling for you to run before they got you.

No, don't focus on that, you tell yourself, focus on before that.

"Take time."

I inhale at the sound of his voice and suddenly remember the sound of my father's voice, when he was calm and happy. I remember my mother's laughter when he bumped his nose against her head and her smile with her big grey eyes.

"My mom laughed a lot," You say with a smile ", She loved my Dad more than anything else really. Dad used to dote on her like crazy."

"I can dote." AAARRRGGH says with a grin ", On you."

You laugh and let AAARRRGGH bump against you like the giant teddy bear he is, you smile and curl into his frame.

"My mom loved Tarot cards," You say with a grin ", She used to read mine all the time. Always said I would have nightmares when I grew up and she was right. Momma was always right when it came to her cards, Dad thought she was crazy."

AAARRRGGH grins and a deep chuckle rumbles in his chest.

"What are you laughing at you gentle giant?"

AAARRRGGH laughs at you, wrapping around you and nudging your chest with his nose ", You crazy."

You press your nose against him and laugh with him.

"Thanks, AAARRRGGH," You say with a smile and close your eyes ", let's go to bed."

"Sounds good," AAARRRGGH says and he curls around you like a cat ", Sleep good, (Y/n)."

"I always sleep good when you wake me up."
