YN POV

If been a day since Jim and I discovered about the amulet, Jim went to go find Toby while stayed behind at my home before my uncle comes back. I did try calling him but all I can do is just leave a voicemail. I really have a lot of questions about what's really happening to me and why's my uncle been acting different. But then I was interrupted by a door opening and I look to see it was my uncle.

YN: Unlce! Where have you been? I've been trying to call you ever since after school.

UN: I'm sorry. There was a few setback I needed to make sure its ready for you.

YN: What do you mean? Uncle, what exactly is going on?

UN: Don't worry, I promise I'll tell you everything. But right now, I need you to gather a few things.

YN: Why?

UN: Its time for you to learn what you can really do.

I was confused for a second but I went to grab and put my things in my duffle bag before joining him at the truck.

Time skip, 3rd POV

It didn't took long but when they got to the mountain and they had to walk on foot to the rest of the way. YN was having trouble with hiking since they both had to carry some backpacks which are heavy.

YN: Are we there yet?

UN: We'll get there when we get there- oh wait, we're here.

They stop at a open area in the middle of the forest.

UN: You can drop the bags over there.

YN drop the backpack to the ground before he meets up with his uncle by the large rock that he's sitting on.

UN: Before we get started, there's something I need to tell you. What I'm about to tell you, will change your life but for a good reason.

YN: Okay.

UN: (Nods.) You and I, our family isn't just ordinary people. We have the ability to control the earth at our will.

YN: So that why there was a stone wall blocking the basement?

UN: Yes, but there's more that we can do than that. Watch.

UN stands up and takes off his shoes as well as his shirt before he walk towards the middle of the open area. After he took a deep breath, he immediately stomp on the ground with his feet only to have a huge stone emerging from the ground before he throws it like it wasn't heavy at all.

This surprised YN when he saw his uncle did that.

YN: How did you do that!?

UN: Its call earth bending. Your father and I can do it. Even you.

YN: So cool! So I can throw boulders?

UN: Only if you focus on the training. In time, you will master. But now to tell you about our long history.

UN create two seats so they can sit and talk.

UN: Long time ago, there were earth benders and there were also trolls.

YN: Wait, trolls?

UN: (Nods.) For generation our family and the trolls fought against the evil trolls but in our own terms. You could say neither of us would get along that easily. Their leader, Gumnar was banish from this world as well as his army. However, his son Bular has been hunting us down until we decided to hide plain and sight. As far as I know, he may be hunting the trolls champion, the trollhunter.

YN: (Shock.) Trollhunter!?

UN: They protect the trolls from Bular and his followers. But you and me, I guess you could say we're mother earth's champions.

UN then notice that his nephew became worried.

UN: Something the matter?

YN: (Shakes it off.) No, well, sorta. But that's later. Right now I want to learn this training so I can protect my friends.

UN: Good. Your training will be difficult at the beginning. But in time, you will grow stronger. So long as you bond to the earth.

UN went to grab the backpack and opens it, only to reveal its filled with rocks.

YN: I've been carrying a pile of rocks this whole time!?

UN: Well we do needed the rock for your training.

YN: Then why didn't you just make more around here!?

UN: Hey, that was part of your training. You need to be strong like the earth. Now let's begin! Defend yourself!

UN then throws small rocks at YN who tries to dodge them but with a few hits yet he still endures it. Consider from his other training. After an hour, he starting to get better.

YN: This is actually starting to get easier. Getting the hang of it now.

UN: It only gonna get harder from now.

Just then, UN stomp his feet, only to have rocks floating before he throws it towards YN fast.

YN: Me and my lousy mouth...

Time skip

Its been almost about 7hrs of training with his uncle with earth bending training. They decided to call it for the night. However, YN did said that he'll meet up with Jim and Toby at Jim's home tonight to discuss their troll situation. When he got to the entrance, he overhears Jim and Toby discussing.

Jim: Really? I show you a glowing sword and a suit of armor that can only be magic, and that's how you respond?

Toby: Seriously! It's butt-kicking time!

YN POV

I got inside and head to the kitchen only to see Jim is wearing the armor while Toby looks too excited.

YN: I'm guessing you already told him about the armor.

Toby: Wait, you knew!?

YN: Well yeah, we tried to call you sooner but you couldn't answer. So Jim had to go to you while I went to training with my uncle.

Jim: What kind of training did you do? Cuz you sure did take longer as Tobes dentist appointment.

YN: Advance training I guess you could say.

Toby: How did that go?

YN: ....Well.

Flashback, 3rd POV

In the middle of their training, YN was sweating from exhaustion for trying to attack his uncle. But every attack he made was either blocked or evades easily by his uncle. But when his uncle was at the open, YN charges at him. But his uncle did what his nephew didn't expected.

YN wails before his uncle knocks him out of the ring combat with his earth bending.

Flashback ends, YN POV

YN: ...it was painful. That's all I can say.

Toby: That sounds rough, buddy.

YN: (To Jim.) You told him about them by the way, right?

Toby: Who's "them"?

Jim: Well...That's the part that I've been freaking out over.

YN: I also wanted to talk to you guys too. About them as well as my training.

Jim: Do you know more about them?

Tony: Hey! What on earth are you two talking about!? Who's them?

Before one of us could answer, there's a knocking at the back door, and we look and saw it was something that has 6 eyes- oh wait, I think that's the troll Jim talked about.

Toby: Wh-What... What the heck is that?!

YN: I'm guessing those are the trolls you've mentioned.

Jim: (Nods.) Yup.

Toby: Don't open the door!

Blinky opens the door.

Blinky: Aha! Master Jim!

Toby AH! I'm calling 9-1-1

I saw another troll attempts to enter, but can't due to his sheer size.

Toby: No, animal control!

Blinky: I knew it was but a matter of time before the amulet called to us.

Y/N: Call to you? So that's how you guys found Jim in the first place.

Blinky: (Chuckles.) Actually, no. We've been spying on you.

Aarg: Spy on you.

YN: Oh.

Blinky: Well, keeping a close watch.

Aarg manage to enter but trips.

Aarg: Door small...

Meanwhile Toby tries to call an animal control but it was then delayed.

Toby: Animal Control hung up on me!

Blinky: You told your... Two 'Stout little friend and big friend about us?

YN: Hey, I'm taller than Jim over here.

Jim: Um, is that a problem?

Blinky: Master Jim, we trolls have gone to great lengths to keep our existence secret from your kind, lest there be panic.

YN: Like Toby?

I point at Toby who's standing on a counter while holding a spoon like a weapon.

Blinky: Like that.

Jim comforts Toby while I inspect the troll. Its not all day you get to see one up close.

Jim: It's all right, Tobes.

Toby: They're like nine feet tall!

Jim: These is my best friends, Toby D and YN LN.

YN: Hey.

Toby: He has like, 800 eyes! We're going to die!

Blinky: Hardly. Your friend is the Trollhunter. His noble obligation is protective.

Toby: By protecting...You mean like a superhero? Oh, can I be his sidekick? With a cool superhero name like Deathblade or Snipersnake?

YN: Yeah I wouldn't call a superhero unless you can fly.

Jim: Just wait. Who would I be protecting?

Aarg: Us.

Blinky: And mankind. From bad trolls... As well as goblins, gruesomes, and the occasional rogue gnome.

YN: Gnomes?

Blinky: Only the rogue ones.

Toby pokes Blinky's face with a wooden spoon.

Blinky: Do you mind?

Toby drops the spoon.

Blinky: The mantle of Trollhunter is a sacred responsibility, one which has never been passed to a human before. This is a momentous occasion.

Suddenly we hear a car pull up to the driveway.

Jim: Oh, it's my mother! Upstairs, quick!

Aarg: (Confused.) Mother?

YN: No time, go!

3rd POV

They all run upstairs and hide in the bathroom, not before locking the door.

Aarg accidentally makes a loud thud which alerts Barbara's attention.

Barbara: Jim? It's me.

Jim: (Whisper.) She's not supposed to be home till midnight!

YN: Okay, let's just calm down. We'll just hide and not make any noise.

Aarg then sniffs Toby intensely.

Aarg: Mmm... You smell like cat.

Toby: My nana has a Siamese...

Aarg: Tasty. (Licks his lips.)

YN: No wonder my uncle didn't want cats around the house.

Barbara: I forgot my phone. Are you okay in there?

Jim: "Um, I'm fine. I mean, my stomach's a little, uh...

Toby plumber for the toilet to make noises, but YN quickly snatch it from him and turns on the shower with hot water to make it easier.

Jim: I'm taking a shower right now.

Barbara: In this late time?

Jim: YN invited me in his training to uh teach me a few things and um only for defending myself. Yeah.

Barbara: Oh, okay.

Jim sigh in relief until the amulet begins to glow.

YN: Uh, guys? What's going on with Jim's amulet?

Blinky: The amulet reacts to his emotional state. Jim, you appear to be in some distress.

Jim: You think?

Toby: I have another question.

Blinky: Speak, Theodore.

Toby: It's Toby, actually. Tobias. If Jim's the first human Trollhunter like you said, then who or what was the Trollhunter before him?

Blinky: The glorious mantle has been passed from troll to troll for hundreds of years.

Jim: So the previous trollhunter, what, retired?

YN: He died...

This caught everyone surprised, mostly the troll to hear it from a human finding out.

Jim: How do you know that?

YN: Trolls can live centuries. Only way they die is by daylight.

The trolls look at him curious until YN answers.

YN: I was doing some research about trollhunter, but all it show was only daylight stuff. But I'm guessing there's another way.

Blinky: Technically, turned to stone and smashed. Kanjigar the Courageous was his name. Brutally slain by a ruthless troll named Bular.

This got YN worried the moment he heard the name Bular which his uncle once told him.

Toby: (Comforts Jim.) Don't worry, dude. This Bular guy probably just got lucky.

Blinky: The evidence does not suggest that. Bular is a formidable opponent.

Jim: Then the other guy, he was just off his game or something, right?

Blinky: Doubtful. Kanjigar was perhaps the most alert and able of all the Trollhunters.

Jim: But not the best, I'm betting.

Blinky: Oh, the very best. Many songs and sagas have been written about him.

YN: But surely there was someone else strong as him to take on this Bular, right?

Blinky: Well, there was one, two actually. But that was few years ago and well...

Aarg: They fell.

Blinky: Yes, yet they both stood their ground together.

YN sigh as he lean against the wall.

Toby: Uh, I think what Jimbo here is a little worried about is, if this...

Aarg: Bular.

Toby: Yeah, I got it. If Bular could defeat Kanjigar-

Aarg: Smash to pieces.

This made Jim sit against the wall with a worried look.

Toby: Then what's going to happen to Jim?

Blinky: A most appropriate, if troubling, query, Tom- Tobias! Of course, we would never expect Master Jim to engage in battle without the proper training.

Toby: See! Nothing to worry about.

YN: This trollhunter training, how long does it take?

Blinky: Oh...

Blinky calculates with all his hands until he got the answer.

Blinky: Decades.

Jim: And... How long do I have?

Blinky: A day or two.

YN, Toby, and Jim:

YN: Well, see you at the funeral, Jim.

Time skip

After Barbara got her phone and as soon as she drove off. Everybody got out of the bathroom and head to the living room to see the coast is clear. Aarg however, doesn't seem to be...freely comfort in the house.

Putting that aside, they discuss about Jim situation and that he should get to training immediately. Otherwise trolls like Bular will reign havoc if there's no balance. However, the thing is that its a lot to take for Jim. Not to mentioned how danger it'll be when facing Bular.

Thankfully the trolls understand and decided to return tomorrow to start his training. With that, the troll take the back door exit as they said their goodbyes.

Toby: They're pretty stealthy.

YN: For big trolls.

Toby: (To Jim.) How's that? I brought you a night.

Jim: A night?

YN: Its pretty obvious. Because its a lot to take in for one night.

Toby: Besides, you're the one who's always talking about wanting adventure and something more. Well, wish granted. Hm. So, trolls are a thing. Who knew?

YN: You know what they say, see it to believe it.

Toby head back inside while Jim looks back where the trolls left until YN comforts him.

YN: Blinky may have mentioned you about destiny stuff. But the way I see it, perhaps its fate that chose this path for you. We just don't know why.

Jim: Maybe it could've been you to have the amulet. You did train for combat after all.

YN: I believe fate has other plans for me.

Jim: other than the amulet?

YN: I think you have a lot to take in for one night. We'll talk tomorrow after school.

Jim: Fair point.

They all part ways and head back home for the night.

Time skip, after school.

During school, Jim had a little trouble with the amulet due to the amulet reacts to his emotional state which caused the amulet giving him the troll armor. Fortunately they went to the locker to prevent anybody spotting Jim, but Strickler caught them and notice Jim is wearing an armor. Luckily YN had a quick thought and told him that Jim is planning on going to join Romeo and Juliet play which Strickler took the bait.

After Jim join the play and did his best to act for the play. Everyone was impressed on his "acting". He even impressed Claire which made him smile. Right now we see the trio are biking home through the streets before the sunset.

Toby: Dude! That was amazing! You were amazing! I'm amazed at how amazing you were!

Jim: I can't believe that just happened.

YN: All in all, I'd say its a win-win. You dodge from being caught and the witch girl starting to like you.

Jim: (Blushes.) What? I mean she was impressed on how I was acting.

Toby: Oh no, that chiquita was looking at you. You're armor did you a favor!

Jim: I'm still getting the hang of it.

YN: Blinky did said it reacts to your emotional state. So far we know it works when you're in distressed.

Jim: But I wasn't in distress back at school.

YN: Still though, we're not out of the woods yet.

Just when they made a turn to the corner, they suddenly meet up with a troll but not like Blinky or Aarg.

This one looked dangerous as it roars at them while YN sigh deeply.

YN: I really gotta stop jinxing us.

Jim: And now I am distress.

Bular: Trollhunter. Merlin's creation... (Growls.) Gunnar's bane.

YN: Bular...

Toby: (To Jim.) I think he's talking to you.

YN: Oh no, he's actually taking to the guy behind us. Of course he's talking to him!

Jim: Look, he's afraid of the sun!

Toby: Not for long!

Bular: The amulet! Surrender it and I will give you a speedy death.

Toby: Doesn't know how to negotiate, this guy.

YN: Less talk and run!

They wasted no time and get away while Bular chase after them. Once they took a quick turn, the three hide behind a parked truck.

Y/N: Uh Jim, we could use some armor like right now!

Jim: For the glory of Merlin, daylight is mine to command!

The amulet glows, but nothing happens.

Jim: It's not working! Seriously! Daylight is mine to command here!

A loud noise comes from the other side of the truck, as Bular slowly picks it up.

Bular: Centuries of Trollhunters, and I will have killed two in almost as many days! (Growls.)

Toby: HE'S GOOD AT MATH!

Y/N: GO! GO! GO!

When the three speed off, they all duck to avoid a...

Toby: Flying truck!

Bular: I'll flay the flesh from your bones!

Y/N: Do that on your own bones, dummy!

Jim: Head down Delancey!

YN, Jim, and Toby change your course and just narrowly avoid the flying vehicle. But, Bular is persistent with his chase.

Jim: Head down Delancey!

They made a quick turn to the next street, but Bular still chase after them.

YN: Quick, we can escape behind Stuart Electronics!

Toby: You know I can't fit in there!

Jim: You can fit!

Toby: I can't!

YN: No choice and time. Just go!

Jim goes in first before Toby did next but he struggle to squeeze through until YN pushes Toby who successfully pass through the gap. Unfortunately, Bular grabbed YN by the leg. But YN acted quick and slam the ground, only to have a stone pop up and hits Bular by the eye. Though Bular was still holding YN, his grip weaken enough for YN to slip with his shoe off before he pass though the gap.

Jim: Are you okay!?

YN: Yeah, that was too close. Let's go before he catches up.

They wasted no time but to get away and pass through the bridge.

Toby: (Exhausted.) Catch...my breath...

YN: Okay, did that just happened?

Jim: Being chased by a evil troll? Yeah.

Toby: We're not dead at least.

???: Master Jim! Ha ha!

The trio then see the trolls from yesterday in front of them.

YN: Blinky and Aarg. Good to see you guys okay.

Blinky: How so?

Jim: Bular's trying to kill us! He chased us all over town!

Blinky: And you're still alive. I knew you had potential, master Jim.

Toby: You have a sweet voice, but you bring death with you!

Jim: You guys can fight him, right?

They both softly laugh.

YN: I'll take that as a no.

Blinky: I could not hope to possess the skill to defeat Bular.

Jim: What about him? He's big.

Aarg: Pacifist.

YN: Ouch, can't argue from that.

Toby: Man, such a waste of a hulking brute.

Aarg: Thank you.

Blinky: This is why there is a trollhunter, master Jim. Aarg renounce the violent path ages ago.

YN: He's got a good point about the trollhunter part. (To Blinky.) Putting that aside, if we can't fight. Then we need to find someplace safe.

Just then Bular arrive at the street and sniff a sense he caught, only to see YN since he has YN shoe.

Blinky: I for one agree with the human. Follow me! We'll be sage in Heartstone Trollmarket!

They wasted no time and follow Blinky who's surprisingly fast as the bikes as Bular is on their tail. Bular then grabs one of the electricity pole and tear it down as the rest of it follows like a domino which block Toby bike, only to have him fall until Aarg caught and carry him before they go through the woods.

YN: We can't shake him off our tail!

Blinky: Master Jim! Don your armor!

Jim: I've been trying! The amulet won't listen to me!

Blinky: did you speak the incantation?

Jim: I've been incanting the crap out of it, and its not working!

YN: Focus and incant it, Jim!

Soon they arrive to the bridge where they head down under the bridge while Jim stop at the egde.

YN: Jim, what are you doing!?

Jim pulls out the amulet and tries to incanting it. Just when Bular got close and goes for the punch, the amulet reacted on time and granted Jim the armor right before Bular punched him the last second. Jim landed on the ground and summon the sword and saw Bular glaring at him with a roar.

Jim: ...Nope.

Jim run towards the others only to have Bular cut his way.

Blinky: Use your sword, master Jim!

Bular: I'll drink your blood out of a goblet made of your skull!

Toby: Cut him like a meatloaf, Jim!

Jim nods and Bular goes for another punch but Jim parry it with his sword as they bock were knock back and face each other.

Blinky: We must act quickly!

YN: Do what you need to do!

Toby: What are yoh gonna do?

YN: To get my shoe back and save my friend!

Before they could protest, YN wasted no time but to help his friend as Bular pulls out his duel swords.

Bular: You are not fit to weild the amulet. I'll tear the armor off you! Along with your skin!

Just when Bular was about to swing his sword, YN gets Bular attention by throwing his other shoe at the trolls head who look at him.

YN: Hey, ugly! Get away from my friend!

Bular: That was a mistake. You'll be the first to die tonight!

Jim: Get out of here, YN!

YN got his fighting stance as Bular charges at him wile YN takes a deep breath and remembers his uncle words.

UN: Remember your training, and you will not be disappointed. Show them what your truly are.

With it, YN stomp his feet as a rock emerge out of the ground before he kicks it at Bular. Successfully knocking the troll back.

This surprise everyone to see a large rock move on YNs will. But that didn't stop YN as he throws more rocks at Bular.

This only made Bular more angry and roars.

YN: Okay, I think I just made this more worse.

Jim: Run!

Jim run while YN stomp the ground and raise his arms, only to have Bular stuck on the ground by the earth gripping his hands and foot before YN grabs his shoes and runs off with Jim to the gate the trolls created. Just in time to jump through before it sealed again while Bular breaks free and roars in anger from his recent failure. Both of them catch their breath after they escaped from Bular as Jim armor shut off on its own.

Jim: He nearly...he nearly...he almost.

Blinky: Almost what? Speak, master him.

YN: He almost killed us!

Blinky: "Almost"! A very important word. A life of "almost" is a life of never.

YN: I don't see how that makes sense.

Jim: But why did the armor suddenly shut off?

Blinky: Master Jim, you are the first human to possess an amulet crafted for trolls. Its to be expected its behavior will be...unexpected. But I must confess, I am more surprise to see one of you is an earthbender.

Jim and Toby: Earthbender?

YN: That's me. When I fought Bular.

Toby: That is so cool! How did you do that?

YN: A lot of training.

Blinky: This way, masters. This way.

Toby: Whoa...

They follow Blinky down stairs that's made our of crystal before YN ask Blinky a question.

YN: So we're safe from Bular now, right?

Blinly: Indeed. The incantation forbids entry to the Heartstone Trollmarket by gummgumms such as Bular, for they are the most fearsome of trolls.

Jim: Gummgumms?

Aarg: Scary ones.

YN: Weird name for the scary ones.

Aarg: And scary name.

Jim: Okay, wait, wait. So Bular can't get in here, right? Into Heartstone Trollmarket?

Blinky: No, master Jim.

Blinky then show them the whole place of the Heartstone Trollmarket which made the human look in awe.

Blinky: This is the world of Jurassic park- I mean, the world you are bound to protect. This is Heartstone Trollmarket!
