♧ Grounding ♧
"What were you two thinking?!" Blinky yelled at the two soot covered children.
"It was Agate's idea to practice sparring in the forge." Laura answered, jerking her thumb at her friend.
"And you went along with it!" Agate screeched angrily, his acid green eyes glaring at Laura. "And you hit the button to activate the new obstacle course my dad put up!"
"Did I have any idea he put flamethrowers? No!" Laura retorted and looked at her father's mentor accusingly. "And why would Draal throw those in the first place?"
"As a challenge, but those weren't meant for you to use until you got older!" Blinky answered and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Honestly, neither of your father's gave me this much trouble when I was raising or acting as a mentor to them. You two will have to be punished."
"But-"
"No butts." Aarrgggh scolded. "Grounded."
"Noooooo!" Agate protested as Laura made a face.
"But it was his fault!" She protested angrily.
"You both are at fault for this." Blinky retorted as Aarrgggh picked Laura up by the back of her sweater with one hand and a struggling Agate by the back of his trousers. "I have already spoken to your parents about this and they agreed a grounding is necessary punishment."
"Is shoving me into a hole really necessary?" Laura asked as Aarrgggh carried them over to two freshly cracked holes.
"Troll whelps are punished this way. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to have Agate in a hole and have you sitting in a corner facing the wall."
"I'm not a troll." Laura muttered as Aarrgggh dropped them down gently into their holes.
"This isn't fair! I demand a battle trial!" Agate yelled angrily as he squirmed in his hole in attempt to free himself.
"There is no such thing." Blinky responded and sat down in a spot between the holes and pulled a book out of his bag. "Now you two will sit in there until you learned your lesson."
"But I have to pee!"
"Then suffer."

"I have never seen anything so strange." Jim muttered as Aarrgggh was lifting his daughter out of her 'punishing' hole.
"These are just one of the more friendly punishments for whelps." Draal explained as his son was lifted out of his hole. "But grounding is never fun."
"Well with the humans, grounding meant having some privileges taken away like not going to the movies or staying up past 8. What did Blinky say they did?"
"They went into the forge and nearly died testing out the obstacle course I had made for you and future Trollhunters."
"Who the heck puts flamethrowers in an obstacle course?!" Laura yelled when she and Agate walked over to their fathers. "We could have died! And on top of that, Agate nearly lost his head with a flaming axe!"
"Remind me not to try that obstacle course so soon." Jim muttered as he rubbed a spot of soot his daughter missed off her cheek. "You are grounded young lady."
"But I was just grounded!" Laura pointed out, brushing a speck of rock off her shoulder.
"I know, but you are still being punished. No trips to the skate park for a moth, and you will be on dish duty for a month during the weekends."
"But dad-"
"Don't 'but dad' me, you are grounded and that is final."
"And as for you young troll, you'll be stuck with me repairing the mess you two made." Draal added, turning to his son. "So I suggest you don't object, we start tomorrow."
"But I promised mother I would help her arrange the new pottery display in the museum tomorrow!" Agate protests. "Ivory and Porcelain will break something if I'm not there!"
"Well then we better get started soon."
