Chapter Five

4 years later

"Big brother, it's here." Asim shouted as she ran form large leopard like creature that was chasing her. Her now purple eyes were flickering here and there before she finally spotted a tree and with a leap she jumped, flipped and landed on the branch in a crouch.

Cyril, wearing rags jumped from the dark and wrapped his arms around the large cat like creature. Gritting his teeth, and rolled flipping the cat over. Squeezing his arms, he ignored the thrashing of the creature.

Asim seeing he'd flipped it over pulled a short sword form her hip bag and jumped off the branch and with no fear stabbed the creature right in the neck. Her gaze was steady, and she waited until it was completed before yanking it out.

Releasing a sigh, she wiped sweat from her brow and grinned. "I finally did it."

The 6-year-old who'd once cried when having to deal with a fly was now a ten-year-old was able to stab a creature 5 ft longer than her and smile brightly about it.

Cyril released the thing and rolled from under it standing. He brushed his brown hair off his face. "Do you think she'll let us pass with this?"

"Yes, Sister Aesira will be really, really proud of us," Asim shouted as she jumped up and down. "What should we do with it's nails? Make jewelry, but I want to use its fur for carpets."

Cyril shook his head at her muttering to herself.

When Asim had initially awoken, he hadn't known that Aesira had returned her vision to her. So, when he'd been hovering over her she'd been surprised and shocked. Later, she'd cried when she'd finally calmed down from learning they were no longer in the hands of the flesh sellers but that there was no home to return to. Then, and there he'd promised to give her a home to belong to.

Taking in her hope for a place to belong, and seeing how her interaction with Aesira made her feel better Cyril didn't bother cautioning her in friendship with both the Goddess, though sometimes he had his doubts when he caught her snoring in a hammock; still her other actions had confirmed that she was indeed a divine being.

What he didn't appreciate was what she said after a month of them living there.

"It's time to train," Aesira said bright tossing him and his cousin a pack. "While this time of leisure has been great, especially for me; we've got strength to build, a world to explore and some demon worshipers to kill. So, starting now and for the next four year you two will be training."

From nowhere she pulled out a stack of books and handed them to Jarvis. "First you're going to learn how to build energy. Some call it aura other chakras, and a few it's simply called energy. Anyway, we first need to build up you physical body and then we'll start teaching you how to make a core, and hell let's throw in a magic circle."

With a clap of her hands, she had them both out of bed and dressed in training clothes and wearing the packets she'd given them. "Jarvis, will be training you and keeping an eye on you while I chi—cough, cough. While I meditate the cosmos."

Eyes narrowed; she flourished her hands at them. "Men and Women must be strong and hold their own. In the world the only person who can ensure your best is you. Strong minds, strong bodies and strong souls. "Off you go, and oh! Jarvis will test you every year so—don't fail me."

And with that he, and along with his cousin her shot off into the depths of the forest wit Jarvis.

When he'd complained to Jarvis he'd said with confusion. "Sir, how can the king of this land not know how to survive in it? How could call themselves the ruler of the land that makes them afraid?"

After that Cryil had gritted his teeth and started learning seriously. The new eyes he'd been given helped. His visual senses were not only better but he could catch so much more, unfortunately he was grinded into stone so that his physical reactions could keep up.

The biggest surprise thought had been.

"Brother look," Asim who'd been doing one handed push ups landed on her feet with ease and pointed at the sky. "Aesira is coming."

That's right Asim, who'd he thought would have a hard time; was like fish in water. Running and laughing boldly, fighting and shouting with abandonment. Sometimes he felt happiness at seeing other times melancholy as he mourned for the life she should have had.

A soft chuckle caught their attention, as the sky opened up revealing Aesira who strutted out her hair down and around her shoulders. She flicked her fingers at them and released a whistle.

"Jarvis baby, I didn't think you'd push them so hard."

Jarvis who was currently in owl form flew over, "I only taught the material you left, Madame."

Aesira couldn't believe how well these two had absorbed the material. Her finger twitched with the urge to do more, but she stopped herself. They'd gotten so big, Cyril was tall and filled out. Coming into the promise of his handsome features he'd had at twelve. And Asim, was gorgeous with her bright eyes, wildly curled hair and elegant features, thought it was hard to tell through the blood coating her face.

Walking over she rubbed some of it off. "You've done well, little one."

Asim giggled and rubbed her cheeks against her chin. "I knew you would say that Sister Aesira."

Flicking her head, Aesira waved her hand and large screen popped up and she whistled at the points the "Training your heroes" had. The others aside from Jarvis couldn't see it. "Tell me, Cyril what kind of kingdom should grow here...

One: A kingdom that is hard to find

Two: A kingdom that brings all who see it to their knees.

Three: A kingdom that is not a kingdom

She turned around and faced Cyril who's brown creased.

Cyril knew whenever Aesira popped up to ask such a question it would lead to something big. The first time he'd answered one of her questions he'd ended having to mine magic stone for a month. She'd teased him calling it training but he knew it was because of the choice he made and figured it was test she had to give him as a god.

Thinking it over, he couldn't help thinking of Calderon. How the envy of those who saw their land brought them ruin.

He lowered his head and answered, "A kingdom that is hard to find."

"Awe—," Aesira tapped her chin something flickered in her gaze. "I guess that is it then."

Turning her attention back to screen she pressed the button and turnined around she snapped her fingers and all of disappeared and reappeared in the hallway of the mountain home she'd created. Staring down at the land below Asim and Cyril were astonished as they watched it shake as if suffering from an earthquake. The trees falling form unseen hands, and the rivers rising high and crashing down as if creating pathway.

"Wow," Asim shouted from where she stood. "Aesira can I to do something like this one day."

Aesira who was watching shook her head. "I don't know, maybe."

"Madame, once the kingdome is built will we be leaving," Jarvis asked.

Aasim and Cyril looked at her in both surprise and eagerness.

Aesira smiled, "Yes, isn't it time we explore this world. Find more heroes, fell some enemies, and enjoy some adventure."

Jarvis rolled his eyes, "Something tells me you're more interested in the adventuring."

"You got me."

Aesira has spent years in a dark space, and then four years locked in this land. She wanted to explore. Talk to people and see them living, she may have been given a title of God but she desired the human kindness and friendliness.

"Where should we go first," Asim asked frowning in thought.

"Calderon," Cyril said immediately. "We need to know what happened to everyone. From there we'll know what to do."

No one disagreed with him.
