His heart felt like it was actually torn to shreds. It was a slow process but one that pained him every second of the way.

Each tear tried to get rid of his emotions. Each rip tried to pull apart his want and need to feel love. Each shred pulled apart tried to get rid of his ability to love.

He almost let it. He almost let himself rip his heart into small pieces.
But something, or rather someone, stopped it.

Someone was able to make his heart want to flutter and feel full of pure admiration. Someone made his almost self destructive life fade only a little, by making him feel whole.

He might not have love in return, but Sebastian Moran's heart stayed whole for Jim Moriarty.

That's why he loved his boss so much. He felt alive around him, he felt human with him, and he felt free with him.

In some way that is unknown, Moriarty saved Sebastian's life by hiring him.

Perhaps that's why he's so touchingly loyal...
