Jesus in an elevator

I got on here to post horse angst, but realized I never finished this.

Continuing the first story I ever wrote....

Chapter 6 "School"
The next day was Monday. They would be going to a brand-new school. Mama packed them lunches of ham sandwiches. They walked outside of the hotel. It was very noisy. There were those strange cars all on the road. There were tall buildings.

Soon they reached the school. There was a big playground in the back. Sophie pushed open the door. Sophie would go to the high school, but she was making sure they knew where to go. Kirsten and the others walked down the hall. After a lot of walking, they found everyone's room. Kirsten walked into the 4th grade room. "Hello!" the teacher said. "I'm miss. Pembrooke." "Hey," Kirsten said quietly. She took her seat.

I'm not super well-versed on school but...pretty sure it doesn't work like this.

First they had math. Then they had writing. Soon, the lunch bell rang. They ran into the cafetiria. She found Johnathan sitting with another boy. "Kirsten, this is Daniel," said Johnathan. Kirsten waved and walked on. Soon she found Rosie. She, Kit, and Amy were sitting together.

Rosie, Kit, and Amy were three more of my dolls. Traditionally, they were part of this family. However, they just appeared out of nowhere at this point in the story.

Kirsten sat beside her. She had just taken a bite of her ham sandwich when Dawn, a girl from here class sat beside here. "Hey," Dawn said, out of breath. "I had to get some brownies before the boys got them all." She handed Kirsten one. "Thanks!" Kirsten said. For the rest of the lunch time, she talked about how Papa was working in a hotel temporarily.

Soon, the recess bell rang. Kirsten and Dawn ran to the swings together. But just then a boy in Andy's class came running up to the two swings that Kit and her friend, Abigal, were swinging on. There weren't any others empty. "Hey!" He said meanly. "Get of!"

But Abigal and Kit kept swinging. "Wait your turn. We were here first." Kit said. The boy laughed. "It's a surprise you even know about taking turns. My dad says farm people are rude and un-friendly." Andy was nearby on the jungle gym. "Your dad says that?" He asked. "Yep." The boy answered. "All right, Pete!" Andy shouted. "You're asking for it!" Andy jumped of the jungle gym. He takeld Pete around the legs. On of the kindergartoner girls screamed. First Andy was on top of Pete, then Pete was on top of Andy. Suddenly, And and Pete's teacher stormed out of the building. He grabbed the two boys and dragged them back inside. Then recess was over.

Sometimes you don't even have commentary.

Kirsten, Dawn, and everyone else walked back in the building. Once Kirsten was back in the room, they did sience, reading, and launguge. But Kirsten couldn't concentrate on her work. She kept thinking about Andy.

When school was over, Kirsten burst out of the school. She met her brothers and sisters at the bus stop. They walked from there. (Why go to the bus stop just to walk away? What the heck?) "Well, did you get in trouble for fighting?" Samantha asked. "No," Andy answerd. "Pete's the one who got in trouble when the principal heard what he said."

Soon they were at the Embassy Suites. They got on the elevator. A man was on it, holding a Maltese. Kirsten and Andy giggled, remembering when theire dogs went on the elevator and escaped. When they got to the hotel room, Mama opened the door.

"How was the first day that of school?" She asked them. "It was good." Andy said. "Except I got in a fight with another boy. He said bad things about us." "Well, I made a new friend." Mary said.

That night, they all ate at Andy's Cafe for dinner.

"Mama" Kirsten said as they were eating. "I have a new friend named Dawn. Could she come over after school tomorrow?" Kirsten asked. "Of course!" Mama said. "I'm anxious to meet her." Kirsten smiled as she drank her milk. She couldn't wait for tomorrow!

Chapter 7 "Dawn"
On Tuesday morning, Kirsten was so excited she couldn't stand it. When school was over, Dawn walked with Kirsten, her brothers and her sisters. While they were walking, Dawn did all the talking. She said she didn't have any brothers or sisters. She had a rabbit named Cuddles and a cat named Mouser.

Soon they reached the hotel. As they passed the check-in counter, Kirsten intordused Dawn to Papa. "This is Dawn..." her voice trailed of. "Applejack." Dawn answerd. "Applejack!" Andy shouted, cracking up. Dawn blushed. "Andy, leave her alone!" Kirsten demanded. She turned to Dawn. "Don't listen to him." She said. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Dawn!" Papa said.

The children walked intill they reached the elevator. It was empty. The children got on. Elizabeth pressed the 4th floor button. When they got to the hotel room, Mama wasn't there. Sophie said she was getting ice. The second after she said that Mama walked in. "Why, hello Dawn!" she cried as she put the ice bucket down. "Hello." Dawn said politly.

She and Kirsten went into the living area and sat on the sofa. Andy and Johnathen were watching TV. They heard the other children playing in the bedrooms. Kirsten showed Dawn Sara, her doll. She told her the names of the dogs. She even told her about when the dogs escaped from her and Andy. When they got to the part where Coconut and Ruben talked (this is supposed to be tackled) the man, they were both laughing.

Mama came in from the bedroom. "Why don't you go down to the lobby and do something?" she asked. I'm tired of you kids! Go play in a public place unsupervised!

"I know!" Kirsten said. "Let's ride the elevator to the top floor."

"All right," Dawn said. So they got on the elevator. Dawn pressed the 8 millionth, 1 thosand floor. Excuse me but what in tarnation. They went up, up, up. Then there was a blinding light. Suddenly, there were God and Jesus, waving. Dawn's mouth dropped open. Kirsten waved. Then there was just sky. Dawn stared at Kirsten. "W-w-what was that?" she asked. "It was heaven." Kirsten answerd. "That m-means were higher then heaven!" Dawn whispered. Kirsten nodded.

Why is Kirsten so blasé about this?

When they got on the top floor, Kirsten pressed 4. When they passed heaven again, Dawn and Kirsten both waved.

When they got back to the hotel room, it was time for Dawn to go. She would never forget the time she visited Kirsten.

Well I should say not.

Chapter 8 "Christmas"
Soon it was almost Christmas.

Mama made gingerbread, pumpkin pies, and molasses candies. (In a hotel kitchen?! Have you SEEN hotel room "kitchens?") Before Kirsten knew it, it was Christmas Eve. They had dinner of turkey and potatoes. All the kids hung thier stockings before bed. Then they jumped into bed.

When Kirsten woke up, sun was streaming thourgh the window. Then she rememberd what day it was!

She ran out of bed. All the kids, with Mama and Papa, came flying out to. When Kirsten got to her stocking, the first thing she pulled out was a pink rubber ball. All the others were pulling things out and shouting. Kirsten thurst her hand in again and pulled out a little debbie cake. It looked like a christmas tree. It was white with red and green frosting. She put her hand in again and found a candy cane. She stuck it in her mouth and sucked it. Andy's mouth was already red from his.

She felt something hard and flat in her stocking. She stuck her arm in, and pulled out a heart necklace! All the girls had one.

I used to fill my socks with gifts for my dolls every single Christmas (and throughout the year when I wanted to "play" Christmas) and that was what inspired this.

Then it was time for breakfast. Mama had made blueberry pancakes for them. It was a good Christmas!

Chapter 9 "Going home"
One day in January, the 18th to be exact, Papa came running in the hotel room.

"The maneger gave me my pay today!" he shouted. "We can go home!"

He worked, what, two months and only JUST NOW got paid???

"When?" Mama asked.

"Next week!" Papa cried. "We have enough money to start our farm over now!"

For the rest of the week, Kirsten and her brothers and sisters ran home after school to help pack.

Soon it was moving day. The children said good-bye to thier friends. Then Papa helped them in the wagon. For the rest of the ride the kids just talked. After awhile Samantha and Mary shouted "There it is!"

There was thiere house. The dogs ran out in the fields. Kirsten was the first one at the door. "We're home!" she shouted.

Home at last.

Well that was a weird ride.

I actually found something I'm dying to post more than the horse angst so stay tuned.
