2 - (Papery Adventures)

Cover made by moi :D XD

(Not related to the story, but this guy ^^ on the cover is so cute xD does anyone know which anime he's from?)

A/N:

This is a very different type of short story. Before y'all get confused by what in the world is happening, let me clear it for you. These two short stories down below, are from the point of view of a paper. Yeah you read that right, PAPER!
So keep in mind while reading that all these are happening from a Paper's POV.
This is just something different. A piece of writing I wrote for fun ! XD

Enjoy :D

(Blue Paper's POV)

I was lying on a pile over a desk, along with my fellows. The human sat beside the open window, excitedly sorting us into our respective colors .

This girl had recently bought us from the store for some school project. She picked up red paper from over me and I could feel red's non-existent mouth smirking at me as if to imply that he was superior as he got picked first.

Hmph! What does silly old red think he is huh?!
I aka Blue am so much better!
And the author agrees , after all I'm one of her favorite colors.

I rolled my non-existent eyes, and was about to reply back to red when a strong gust of wind came from the exposed window and trapped me in a dance.

I felt my light body being lifted up from the surface and being blown outside. I helplessly kept flying along with the wind , taken away against my will.

Wind always had to show off his superior strength against my fragile body. Suddenly I noticed a puddle of muddy water on the ground below me.

I could feel the wind going away , leaving me behind to slowly descend downwards. I tried to stop but I was helpless against the power of gravity.

I was trembling with fear , disgusted at the thought of landing in the mud and getting my new shiny, blue surface dirty and wet . On top of that I was completely blank and hadn't been used yet.

All of a sudden a big dog ran past , blowing the wind in my direction and causing me to redirect myself.

I felt relief flood over me as I landed on top of a heap of leaves. That was a narrow shave. But I had let my guard down too soon.

A group of little humans were playing nearby with my fellow papers . Treating them however the humans wished. Some of the papers were getting rolled up, stepped upon , while the most unfortunate ones got shredded to tiny pieces and strewn over the ground. I shuddered hearing their invisible pleas of help. We papers have feelings too! But humans never respect that and treat us as if we didn't matter at all.

One of the tiny human monsters had spotted me. The devil started running towards me with his wobbly legs.

Oh no!

To my surprise a warm hand picked me up before the tiny monster could reach here. I saw that this was another human. Although older than the little devil.

The boy who looked to be in his late teens ,held me in his fingers and turned me up and down , inspecting my surface. Seeing it in such a good state he smiled in triumph . The boy reached his hand inside the pocket of his school uniform and took out a pen .

He quickly scribbled some ink over my body. I winced as the sharp tip of the pen danced across my body , pricking itself again and again. Finally the torture stopped.

But again ,I had opened my non-existent mouth too soon .

After the boy was done scribbling whatever he wrote on my surface, he skimmed his eyes over me , rereading whatever the ink painted and a satisfied smirk played on his lips. Then he folded me in many different angles , creasing and making patterns . I cried as I felt myself being molded into some shape.

Before I knew it he chucked me at the sky as if I was a rocket ascending towards space. I glided in the air with the wind running all around me chuckling at my dismay.

As I flew by , I spotted a fellow paper sailing over water. It had been molded into a boat and the makers stood by, staring in awe.

Slowly I started descending again and a tender human hand caught me mid air. This girl unfolded my body from it's twists and turns and read the message scribbled on me. She smiled at me as if I was a precious treasure and began smoothening the creases and wrinkles over my surface.

I felt better . This seemed like a nice human. She took me back to her house and safely tucked me away inside a drawer where I lived peacefully for the rest of my crinkly paper life.

(Green Paper's POV)

The classroom was filled with the chatter of students as I sat peacefully inside my owner's backpack.

My human owner unzipped his backpack , letting the sunlight coming from the window engulf the darkness and brighten up the place I was in.

He took out some chocolates from the corner pocket in front of me and started eating one of them. I remember how carefully he had taken them out from the fridge yesterday night and placed them inside his backpack. I was watching from my place on his desk after all .

Peeking out from the open zip, I could see my human owner slightly anxious. He battled with his mind and after a few minutes, finally got the courage to get up and face the situation.

You better man up boy! I've been seeing you in this jittery state since so long! Hmph!

I watched with non-existent narrowed eyes as he nervously approached his crush and offered her some of the chocolates he had brought.

The girl scrutinized him for a moment before taking a chocolate with a small smile of gratitude.

I'm sure the giver's heart must have been racing marathons at the moment. He walked back and sat down on his chair , resting his head on his hands with a wide grin upon his face.

He continued staring at the girl as she ate the chocolates he had given her. But confusion replaced his grin as he saw the girl giving the rest of the chocolates to her friend.

Pity ...

Another human arrived in the scene, plopping down on the desk under which I was observing everything from my comfy place inside the backpack.

This cheeky human slapped my human owner on his shoulder , " Dude you need to do something soon."

My owner sighed , " What else should I do mate? I did offer her chocolates and see , she even accepted them! I don't know what happened now..." he grumbled , letting his face fall on the palm of his hand.

" Bro, do you think that's enough? Well she definitely didn't think that was special , did she? Because if those chocolates had meant something special for her then she wouldn't have given the rest away to her friends so easily. She would've treasured those for herself. " The cheeky human advised his friend.

" Stop making me feel more sad. "

"Hey , I was just stating facts."

" Which I already know, thank you very much. If you really wanna help , tell me what to do to make her notice me. "

Cheeky human tapped his fingers on his chin and suddenly a light bulb flickered over his head. Yeah , I'm a paper so I can see that but you silly humans won't be able to see it with your eyes.

"Idea! You should write her a letter. I wrote one to the girl I liked. "

My human owner stared at the cheeky human for a while before smiling. He reached his hands inside his backpack and I could feel his fingers grasping around until they finally landed on me. He grabbed me and pulled me out, and I levitated in the air.

Then he slammed me on his desk and took hold of a pen before looking back at his friend.
" Okay, tell me what I should write. "

Cheeky human gave a cheeky grin and started narrating a bunch of corny gibberish pick up lines.
I wanted to shake my head so badly! But I didn't have a head. And even if I did, I was now trapped with a pen being scribbled over me.

Ah now this was another torture. The sharp tip of the pen pricked me again and again. I cried out and glared at everyone, but as usual no one noticed.

Sorry paper, I can't help my actions. I'm just a pen, moving however humans use me.

The pen sent me a telepathy message.

Don't worry pen, I understand. What's sad is that the purpose we're being used for is gonna be a failure.

Believe me green paper, if I had any will to stop these fingers from moving me or I could stop my ink flowing I would have done so. Whatever they're writing is headed for only one destination.

Total rejection.

I concluded as we both sighed.

Finally the boy finished writing on my beautiful green surface. He nudged the person beside him and handed me over, asking to deliver me to that girl.

The new human waited for a bit, seeing that the teacher was snoring away, she turned around and handed me over to the girl in question.

She picked me with her delicate fingers and her eyes skimmed over me. I cringed knowing whatever she was reading must have been boiling her blood by each passing word.

She gave me a death glare.

The hell! It's not my fault if I was owned by a silly human who took advices from an idiotic friend of his! I can't control what is scribbled over me!

But guess what? Yeah , no one ever paid any heed to me! Hmph!

And soon as expected, the girl started balling me up. I winced as my surface was crushed into a round ball.

Ouch that hurt!! A lot!
I'm being punished for something that wasn't even my fault in the first place .

The girl threw my now balled up version to my ex owner. He looked at my state with a horrified expression.

Serves you right silly boy!

He then glared at his cheeky friend who was rubbing his hand over his neck .

" Well? It was your freaking idea wasn't it?!"

" Calm down mate. How was I supposed to know it wouldn't work?! It worked for me. The girl I had given a letter to , tucked away the paper carefully and took it home! I don't know why it backfired in your case!" Cheeky human tried to explain himself . His efforts were futile.

My ex human owner , ah let's just call him rejected boy . So rejected boy kept glaring at cheeky human.

"Well, at least she noticed you , that's what the main purpose was right? ..." Cheeky human added once more .

He just should have kept his cheeky mouth shut.

I watched as rejected boy's eyes turned into slits and he started rolling up his sleeves and cracked his knuckles.

Oh yeah! Bring it on!

Fight each other! You both deserve it! Who writes such cheeky things to girls huh?

If you wanna write , write good meaningful things ! Not pick up lines copy pasted straight from that thing humans always turn to. What was it again...oh yeah GoOgLe .

Poor green paper aka me. Why did my fate end up like this ?

I heard blue paper found a nice home in a drawer .

Even red paper was used for some school project where he won second place.

And turquoise paper had been used for drawing an award winning painting.

Yellow paper got the honor of having a bestseller story book's draft being scribbled on her.

White paper had unknowingly flew in through an open window during an examination and landed on a Human's desk causing the teacher to think he was using unfair means .

Even that is so exciting!

Why did my luck have my surface be scrawled with silly stuff which ended with me being balled up? Hmph! Truly sad.

Guess all papers don't have a happy ending .

After all , each of us have different papery adventures .

★★★

We were given this type of essay topic in one of our free writing classes in school and that's when I wrote the first story. I wrote the second story recently, one day ago xD and now here they are !

This was just meant for fun. Writing something different and hilarious.
