An Introduction to the Great Rose

The connector of worlds is the Great Rose and it possesses eight thorns that each hold a different realm, every single one of them having exclusive cultures and traditions. The lowest thorn is that of Draconemia, the land of the dragons where the beloved skies are what they hold dear to them. They are a mosaic of many symbols. For example, some dragons represent positive themes such as fortune and bliss while there are others who represent horrid morals such as malice and destruction. Dragons are known for their speed and power in the air, great helpers when rebuilding cities after war. Dragons are very wise as their lifespans are longer than any other being within the Great Rose, for they can live up to one million years. Their alpha is Adalhelm, a fire dragon that represents nothing but honesty and justice despite the greedy and belligerent reputations that dragons have gained due to stories  from merchants. He had been a great ally to the other lands of the Great Rose except for Gigaheim and Seirheim, but those realms shall be discussed later.

The thorn above Draconemia is the kingdom of Faeheim, home to the faeries. It is a large realm, full of small towns throughout the land due to, well, how small faeries are. Faeries are particularly small beings, being no taller than nine inches that specialize in elemental alchemy, though it is mere science that other realms are yet to understand. They use all properties of nature to their advantage, one example being their knowledge of herbs and plants for healing properties. Their ruler is Queen Yesfir, a bubbly and amiable faery who shows nothing but never-ending love for her people and one of the greatest allies to have due to her fidelity and scientific improvements. Such improvements may lead to another wave of industrialization within the Great Rose, the first one also being caused by the faeries of Faeheim. She is married to King Aleksey and is the mother to her only son Nikolai and two daughters Anfisa and Viktoria.

The closest thorn to Faeheim is Alfdrisel, the realm of the elves who are commonly confused with faeries. It surprises many over how some could still get these two species confused as elves are quite...tall despite the myths mankind has created where they are described as short and mischievous. In reality, elves grow to around six feet tall and are the most tranquil of the people living within the Great Rose, dedicated to being neutral when wars break out amongst different realms. They are specialized in healing, though their defense system is extremely powerful as elves are the best archers and assassins you can find if you're lucky to meet one that is not a pacifist. Non-pacifist elves are called "Rogue Elves" as they deviate from the peaceful way of life Alfdrisel promotes. Elves are extremely agile creatures who are hard to catch when being chased, making them valuable assets to their allies. They are skilled hunters and huntresses and almost never miss with their bows and arrows, making them all the more dangerous. Their current ruler is King Sigurd who is the calmest and most collected of the rulers within the Great Rose. He is the peacekeeper among the rulers to whom he allies with, making it hard for him to snap. He rules his kingdom with his wife, Queen Nadezhda who is the mother to his only child, Prince Seok.

Above Alfdrisel is Seirheim, the great seas of the sirens. This realm is incredibly different than the others, as it is mostly underwater with very little land above them. They are incredibly dangerous and many are hesitant to even go near their realm. Their voices are heavenly, like angels blessing men's ears with the music that leaves their mouths. While their songs are beautiful, they are incredibly dangerous as they lure you to Seirheim where you undoubtedly meet your demise. Many of their victims are merchants traveling throughout the Great Rose, for their voices extend outside of their own realm and can be heard far enough to where distant travelers can hear them sing. Their mistress and greatest singer is Queen Apolline who remains alone without any children, for she strives to find the greatest male singer possible, which is difficult as most sirens are females. However, there are just enough males in their population to keep it growing steadily and ever-dangerous. Sirens can also change their tails into legs when they leave their marine realm. This does not stop sirens from tempting men of other realms to come and reside with them in their horrendous home, especially if that man is eye-candy.

Unfortunately, Nymiaheim is the land right above Seirheim and are known for losing many to the clutches of the sirens. Here reside the nymphs and satyrs in all of their beauty and grace. Nymphs are incredibly bewitching regarding their appearance, though they are quite naive and gullible, resorting to using their beloved satyrs for protection. The satyrs are wonderful defenders of the realm and strive to impress as many nymphs as possible which continues to feed their egos to the point where it is bigger than the entire realm. The people of Nymiaheim completely shun technological advancements as they prefer to only use what nature gives, using everything they can find without having to industrialize. They are the only realm who has not had a metal age and they strive to keep living in Mother Nature's hands. Their beloved chief is Atreyu, a satyr of incredible strength whose ego can be bigger than the Rose itself. He is incredibly talkative which can aggravate the rulers of the realms he considers allies when they convene for meetings. He is the father of his only daughter Mabel who lost her mother Queen Madeline to health complications after she was born.

The next realm and the most dangerous of them all is Gigaheim, home to the giants. The giants seem to eat raw meat and glass for breakfast, eyes always filled with bloodlust. They are extremely well-built and are horrifying to encounter, but it is quite easy to outsmart them. They are all brawn and no brains and many are surprised that some giants can read and write. The royal family keeps their people as uneducated as possible to secure their rule over them while they invest the best education to the heir to the throne and his beloved, though even the most educated giants are eclipsed by the intelligence of the other realms. Their current chief is Hannibal who is yet to find a wife, though he has his eye on the young princess of the next realm about to be discussed.

The final realm is Paxgard, the land of the humans. They are the most unique of creatures as they are incredibly diverse to the point where you could not group them all under the same generalizations. They are all incredibly unique and are unequal: some being more intelligent than others or more athletic. However, many say that the humans they have met can be deceitful and greedy, though not all are like that. There are some humans out there with hearts of gold and others that strive to be as benign as possible. They are known for their inventions, for they have created weapons such as the catapult and the sword. Their greatest feat was the defeat of Gigaheim when they were at the height of their power, proving how strong the humans could be. They are vicious enemies, but exceptional allies. Their current king is King Dustin with his beloved wife Queen Oksana. They have three children, their eldest child being Prince Erik. Their other children are Prince Troy and Princess Saoirse.

As said before, Gigaheim's ruler Hannibal has taken an interest in Princess Saoirse, though Paxgard has no interest in giving him her hand for any reason. This angers Hannibal and causes him to find every way to gain the princess's hand and affection. Of course, Saoirse would never even think of taking this oaf's hand, so Hannibal decided to concoct a plan to force her to become his beloved bride. This tale will be the first you will every hear from this journal: The Tale of Prince Erik's Wedding. Yes, you have read that right : Prince Erik's wedding, not Saoirse's. How can this be? Well, wait and see and you shall find out.
