Trick or Teal (Part 2)
Trick or Teal (Part 2)
The armour was stubborn to remove, so Thanatos rethought his 'war' strategy and decided upon a new route.
He grabbed me close and lifted his heavy Spartan skirt, forcing his underwear down with quick fingers. I was still busy with my pirate pants when his impatience pulled away my hands and hastily did it for me. I couldn't tell if his eagerness stemmed from his fiery lust or the fact that Trita was still searching for him outside.
Either way, I didn't complain when he pulled my pants down to my knees and reached up for my underwear. I leaned back onto the bed and tugged him towards me; "Are you about to rock my boat?" Gods, I've been spending far too much time with Poseidon...
Thanatos snorted, but tried to keep a focused mind as he climbed on top of me and snaked his arm under my waist, pulling me up and angling me perfectly underneath him. "How about we leave the puns for after, hmm?"
"I thought you liked my bad jokes?" I giggled as he struggled with his warrior's skirt. Thanatos grumbled while his hands kept pushing away the golden ends from blocking his way; "Not while I'm busy with an invasion."
"Oh, so you can make jokes, but I can't?" I tilted my head and shot him a pointed look, but it didn't last long.
I felt him press into me with a snarl, his deep voice vibrating in my ear and sending a delicious path along my earlobe and down to my neck. "Glad we're in agreement."
"Pompous ass." It was honestly more of a moan than two words put together, but neither of us were complaining that I could no longer speak.
Thanatos had found his nest and showed no intention of leaving it. His hips moved with deft determination; pressing me further and further into the mattress, grinding me into the plush blanket. His eyes were smouldering in the dark night of the empty room, but I was too distracted by his smirk.
"What's so funny?" I wiggled my hips and wrapped my arms around his neck, squeezing him like vines. His mouth lowered to mine and our kiss was more passionate than I expected. "Nothing, I just..." His words dipped.
"Speak up, commander." I applied pressure to his chest and found it relatively easy to swing him around and pounce on him. His armour was as hard as stone, but undeniably pleasing. I will admit that Thanatos looked far too good in everything he chose to wear, but there were a few things I just couldn't resist on him. Armour such as this was definitely one of them, his black toga and night crown another and of course his 'god of death' attire was by far a favourite. But there was no doubt in my mind that the best look on Thanatos was no look at all.
The man was the gods' god. He looked the best naked and unobstructed.
Thanatos swung us around again and wrapped his large hands around my upper arms with a look I'd quickly fallen in love with. "And who gave you permission to lead?"
"I don't need permission." I smiled up at him, but his silence a few seconds ago still lingered. I decided not to push it just then.
Instead of replying to me in words, Thanatos crashed his mouth onto mine and sped up his pace. I moaned under his heavy build, while his tongue forced its way into my mouth, searching for lost treasure and his hands ran down the length of my body until they reached my hips. His hands grabbed hold of the protruding bones on either side and he held me down with a growl as he rode out his burning desire.
I was momentarily too stunned by his animalistic attack to think of a witty reply, but even if I had, there was no way of voicing it. Thanatos had me trapped beneath him, while he did as he pleased. I found my fingers tangled in his dark hair and my tongue moving in union with his- he tasted like something I could never describe to anyone. He tasted like Thanatos.
The bed shook with the strain of our weight being shifted up and down. Thanatos paid no attention to it at all, his mind now solely focused on where our bodies met. His hand flew up to my white shirt and ripped at it. I quickly reached one hand down from his head to unbutton a few top buttons, but when he wasn't satisfied with that, I undid all of them.
Thanatos grunted in appreciation against my mouth and reached under my nude, lace bra to cup my breast. His mouth finally dislodged from mine, but only for a split second and then it found its new home around my hard nipple. His tongue darted out and traced a path of fire along the stiffness until he clasped his whole mouth around it and sucked.
A few pleased groans and whimpers escaped from deep within my throat and I pressed his head down harder. I felt his firm member wreak havoc inside of me, pushing in more with every thrust until it nearly hurt. He was growing aggressive.
Over the course of our intimate relationship, I'd noticed a few ways in which Thanatos made love. It ranged from the sweetest and most tender forms of love making to even the most beastly and controlling forms of fucking.
Right now, it was a very odd combination of both.
Granted, that was his favourite way of doing it, but there was a hint of desperation in the way his hips moved here and the way his mouth planted kisses from my breasts to my neck and back down again.
It was perhaps selfish of me to let his desperation fuel me and carry me over the edge, but I couldn't help but love the way his infatuation with me felt. The way he did everything just to feel, please and consume me; sometimes to the extent of developing an obsession.
We both finished with a muffled cry; mine hidden underneath his large palm and his in the crook of my hot neck. I could hear his voice crack with pleasure as his hips continued rocking, until they slowed to a slow and appreciative pulse. He let out a whimper; "I'll never loved anything more than you..."
My heart burst with an incomprehensible heat. I felt a rush of fire run up to my cheeks and surround me in a warm glow- even more potent than the one his hips had managed just a few seconds earlier. "Darling..."
"Has your ship been thoroughly rocked, captain?" And just like that, his mood changed.
I had to take a second to clear my throat. "Extensively."
"Kalós." Thanatos smirked and pushed himself off me and bent down to pick up his discarded underwear. He slipped them on, while I did the same and buttoned up my pants. I eyed him from under my lashes. He looked distracted.
I smiled broadly as my fingers quickly redid the buttons to my shirt; "In a hurry, commander?"
Thanatos looked up from adjusting his skirt and braces. He looked momentarily confused; "Not at all, I just figured that if we stayed here any longer, we'd have to deal with the others breathing down our necks."
"Right." I nodded, but something ate at my tongue. I wanted to speak more, but left it. Thanatos turned around to grab his helmet from the floor, his expression troubled. I couldn't help when my mouth opened and asked; "Is something the matter?"
Thanatos smiled with warmth; "Never." His fingers twirled a strand of hair as he leaned in and pecked my lips with kindness. I eyed his red gaze, but he met my mystification with confidence. I let him be and followed him out of the room.
There was a time and a place for everything.
Amphitrite's POV
I heard him try and sneak up behind me. My husband was fairly awful at being stealthy. I sighed and shook my head; "Yes?"
Poseidon stopped dead in his tracks and awkwardly stepped from one foot to the other, contemplating what to say. I stared ahead into the night, my arms resting on the balcony's stone railing.
Poseidon and I had met when we were both young. He'd shown immediate interest in me from the moment our eyes met, but I was less engrossed at the time. He was handsome, definitely, and he was different from other suitors. Poseidon was humorous and fun to be around- not at all stiff and uptight like the other men my mother and father had me court. But Poseidon wasn't the typical man I grew up around. He wasn't a fighter really- an expert swordsman, but that was always more of a sport to him. He wasn't hard and unemotional, nor was he closed off. He didn't want power or riches, although he did enjoyed the benefits both brought. Poseidon enjoyed a life of luxury, knowing of course nothing else.
He was used to parties and hunting trips that involved more merriment than actual killing and although many in my family might argue that he was no man at all, I did disagree. He might not have been brutal in his love making or a barbarian at the table, but what Poseidon lacked in ruggedness, he made up with compassion. His heart was what I fell in love with.
Right now, his heart was also what caused me so many headaches.
"Amphi..." My husband whispered with unsurety.
"I know, I know. You're sorry."
I felt him creep up behind me. Poseidon was by far the kindest person I knew, but his caring heart often got him in trouble. He couldn't say no to anyone. Much less people he felt he needed to impress- like my brothers and my father. And when they offered him a drink, he took it. I hated the fact that he let them lower his standing like that.
"I truly am." A hand touched my shoulder and I felt him retract it when I didn't react.
I shook my head; "You're always sorry, Poseidon, but then you do it again. And again."
He sounded angry as he replied; "What would you have me do, agápi mou? Say no to your father? Insult him at his own gathering?"
"Yes!" I turned around with blazing eyes. I might have overreacted, but my temper was thin.
Poseidon searched my eyes and sighed. He leaned back and ran a hand through his dark hair. "Gods, I'm sorry then. I'm sorry I'm not an asshole."
"I don't want you to be an asshole, Don. I just need you to stand up for yourself. You act like their opinion is all that matters."
"It does matter to me." He scoffed; "Believe it or not, I care about what my wife's parents think of me."
"To the point where you upset me?"
Poseidon leaned against the wall and crossed his arms with a shake of his head; "I have apologised, Amphi. What more do you want me to do? Do you want me to be like Apollo? Do you want me to strut around like no one's opinion matters at all?"
"No, I-"
"Or do you want me to be like Hades? Cold and distant? Or what about Hypnos? Do you want me to pretend like no one effects me? What about Thanatos? Should I be intimidating and have your family cower whenever I enter the room?"
"Stop this."
"I'm sorry I'm clearly not man enough." Poseidon tried to sound angry, but I knew that tone. He was hurt.
I felt my heart pang with regret. Before he could run off and sulk, I pulled him close and eyed him with a hard look; "I said stop it! I love you. You, Poseidon! Not Thanatos or Hades or anyone else. I fell in love with you. I just wish you'd stop thinking that my family will love you more if you acted like someone else. Was someone else."
He eyed me with the look a young puppy would give you if you ripped its favourite toy from its jaws. I shook my head and lowered my voice; "I wish you'd love you as much as I loved you. Stop trying to satisfy everyone. They don't deserve you bending to their will. You're better than them. You know you are."
"Amphitrite..."
"Listen to me." I interrupted him, knowing that my husband's heart was soft and sometimes too big to say 'no'. He needed reassurance and I knew that the day I married him. "I love that you have a ridiculous sense of humour. You make me laugh and you make me shake my head more than anyone. You're not cold like you're brother; you're not arrogant like Apollo, or even isolated like Hypnos. And you're not unapproachable like Thanatos. The gods know I don't have the patience to deal with husbands like that. But I can deal with you- I like dealing with your antics."
"Those are the nicest words you've ever said to me." Poseidon gushed and I rolled my eyes so heavily they nearly made a noise. He pulled me in for a hug. "I love you so much, my sweet."
"I love you even more, Poseidon. Don't ever forget that."
"You know..." I felt his hands snake down to my ass and I immediately knew what his next words would be. "I think I missed my annual check-up. Maybe you could help me, nurse?"
I giggled and pulled him closer; "I think we might have some time before Trita commands us all to leave. The guest bedroom?"
"I like the way you think..." He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the bedroom. I laughed as he placed a finger on his lips and signalled for me to be quiet. We didn't want anyone to spot us rushing off.
"What are you supposed to be anyway?" I asked as I tapped his big, black top hat. Poseidon flicked his tongue at me and readjusted it on his head; "A magician, now be quiet and let me show you some magic."
"Are you going to be making puns the whole way through?"
"Is there any other way to do it?"
"Apparently not."
He twisted the knob of the guest bedroom, but it was locked. I shot him a look, but before he could reply, the lock turned and the door flew open. Our wide eyes met Thanatos and Aurora's equally round ones and Thanatos was the first to clear his throat and speak; "We'll keep Trita busy until you're done."
"Appreciated." Poseidon clapped Thanatos' shoulder with brotherly affection and rushed us both inside. Aurora shot me a sly smile and I ignored it with a blush.
My husband quickly closed the doors and I eyed the bed; "They were definitely on here."
"The floor?"
"Sure, why not." I pulled at my outfit, but Poseidon was faster. He had me undressed in a flash and I quickly undid his belt and buttons of his trousers.
At least Poseidon's heart wasn't the only big thing about him...
Aurora's POV
The rest of the night was fairly entertaining, to say the least.
After we all left the house to go 'trick-or-treating', Hypnos had decided to take full advantage of his and Thanatos' little deal to keep Trita at bay.
My best friends was surprisingly calm when she saw what Thanatos had decided to dress as, and when I asked her about it later, she simply smirked and slyly said; "Oh, Hypnos promised me something in return for my... compliance with Thanatos' outfit change."
I snickered and knew what she meant without her even having to show me the crude hand gesture.
It seemed tonight was a night for treating and not tricking for all couples- even Sonya and Barrios had disappeared a while ago and no one had bothered to 'find' them.
We stood in front of the house on the corner of the popular street. There were hoards of kids and teenagers running around in the open and beautifully lit neighbourhood. We spotted a group of young university students also 'trick-or-treating' and their faces lit up when they passed us. Clearly not a lot of young adults still did this. We waved and wished them luck.
Trita knocked on the door with her fairy wand and I heard Thanatos begging from the side, his eyes narrowed at his twin's; "For the love of Chaos, do not do it."
Hypnos smirked and ignored Thanatos pleas. "Pay attention to me!" Thanatos bumped his brother with his chest and grunted when Hypnos continued to pretend like he wasn't even there. That is- until the door opened.
Hypnos smiled broadly and grabbed Thanatos close; "Good evening, Madam!"
The old lady carrying a big bowl of chocolates smiled widely as she saw the two twins on her doorstep. Her cheeks flushed with an adorable tint of pink. "Oh, my! Hello, dear!" Thanatos expression suddenly shifted from anger to shock and then to an expressionless mask. I didn't miss the change though; it was fast, but I knew his every look by now.
"Please let me introduce you to my little brother." He pushed Thanatos slightly forward and grinned when Thanatos pinched him on his thigh. "Pleasure to meet you, madam." We all sniggered at the back when Thanatos forced a smile.
"It's his first time 'trick-or-treating' and he's a bit shy." Hypnos said as he covered the side of his face so he could whisper the words to the old lady, but Thanatos cloud hear him loud and clear. He held his tongue and gritted his teeth.
The old lady gushed and clearly thought nothing weird by the fact that these two men looked like they were nearly thirty. "Oh, well you're costume is brilliant young man. Where did you get it?"
"The Battle of Thermopylae." Thanatos mumbled and the old lady furrowed her brows; "Oh, I'm sorry dear, you'll have to speak up?"
"I said the party shop, madam." Thanatos smiled politely and the old woman nearly had a stroke. She giggled and handed him some candy.
We laughed loudly as Hypnos greeted her and thanked her for not being too 'scary'. She closed the door with one last blush and Thanatos turned to Hypnos with a growl; "That was the last one!"
"Let me check with Trita..." Hypnos turned his eyes to his fiancé's, but she shook her head with a snarl. "She says two more."
Thanatos gave them both a dead-pan look and then tilted his head, as if to ask 'would you like to die'? "No way in Hades, malaka."
"Then go change into Dracula." Hypnos folded his arms across his chest and narrowed his eyes.
Thanatos flicked his tongue and leaned in to snarl in his brother's face; "One more house."
"Deal."
"Come on." Thanatos grabbed Hypnos' hand and he led him off to the next house on the opposite street. Well followed close behind. Thus far the twins were wining the candy-game. They had more sweets and chocolates than all of us combined. How dare they be so handsome? It was disastrously unfair.
Hypnos knocked on the door and winked at his brother; "Chin-up, baby brother."
"Shut up."
The door opened to reveal a very orange-dressed man and he was clearly very, very drunk. "Ooh! Looks like Christmas is a month early!" And clearly very, very gay.
Hypnos' smile deepened and I could hear Thanatos gulp. "Hello, let me introduce you to my little brother."
"Oh? You're brothers?" The man's eyes grew interest. "For a second there I thought you two were together."
"Don't we all..." Poseidon sniggered from the back and Thanatos and Hypnos shot him a very dirty look. He zipped his mouth.
"And what can I get you, gentlemen?" He asked with a sly grin; completely ignoring the rest of us.
Hypnos smiled broadly; "My brother here is new to this whole 'trick-or-treating' thing and he's a bit shy, I was wondering if you have any advice for him?"
Thanatos' neck literally creaked as he turned his head to glare at his twin with ferocity. The man was over the moon with this opportunity; "Well, if you to have some time to spare, I'm sure I have a good bottle of Pinotage somewhere in my fridge?"
"Oh, I can't, but maybe my little brother can?" Hypnos looked to Thanatos, but his brother was already glaring at him with so much anger.
Thanatos locked his jaw; "I can't. Sorry."
"Not even for a glass?" The man asked with a hint of desperation. Thanatos sighed and shook his head; "No, I'm afraid I'm a bit busy later tonight."
"A shame really, but let me at least say you're on the right track with that outfit. My, my... You're definitely at the top of my list of costumes tonight."
"Oh? Listen to that Thanatos; you're at the top." Hypnos smirked and the man interrupted with a sly voice; "Of course, if you ask nicely, I'd happily let you be at the bottom too."
Thanatos- the god of death and decay, a force to be reckoned with and a god more ancient and with more blood on his hands than the rivers of the underworld- looked up at the man and just stared at his forwardness. Thanatos didn't even bother with a reply. He turned around and walked away.
We stared after him.
Hypnos knew then that the game was over; it was fun while it lasted, but Thanatos could snap an innocent man's neck with his pinkie. "Thanks."
"No candy?" The man asked with a confident look and Hypnos waved his hand in the air. The man's eyes stared to droop and then all of a sudden, he fell the floor, fast asleep. "Let's go."
We left the poor soul on the floor. I felt slightly bad, so I pushed his hand inside the house and closed the door. I guess there's a fine line when talking to the twins. Most of us have overstepped it at least once or twice.
"Maybe we'll meet you guys at the party?" Trita said with a hint of hesitation as Hypnos and I walked to catch up with Thanatos. Poseidon and Amphitrite nodded in agreement and I turned to look at Hypnos. He nodded. "We'll just be a moment."
"Right. See you there." Trita gave him a quick hug and shot me a smile I waved them off and turned my attention to the corner where Thanatos had disappeared around.
Hypnos and I shared a look and quickly ducked around to catch up with him. but he hadn't gone far.
He was standing close to the forest line, his costume gone and replaced with his dark armour and long cloak. He looked like he was about to bring death to this small harbour town. Worry filled my heart. Hypnos' voice sounded like he too felt a sudden uncertainty; "Thana..."
"Relax." He turned to us with a small smile; "I'm fine. I'm not angry. I know it was a joke."
"Oh..." Hypnos said with a small crease in his forehead. "You're not coming to the party then?" Hypnos pointed to his attire and Thanatos sighed and tried to smile with reassurance.
"In a bit. I have some business to take care of first."
"I don't understand..." I asked, but when I looked to Hypnos to see if he was just as confused, I noticed that he wasn't. He nodded at his twin and pursed his lips with a sad look. I narrowed my eyes and looked between the two; "What is it? What am I miss-"
My mind clicked into place. "Oh."
Thanatos nodded and pulled his hood up to cover his head. "I'm sorry, angel. I'll meet you at The Deck in a few."
"Thanatos..." I walked up to him and placed my hands on his cheeks. I looked from one eye to the next, thinking of the right words to say, but I found none. Hypnos watched from behind us, but said nothing. Eventually, Thanatos took my hands in his and kissed them each softly. "It'll be quick."
"Okay." I nodded unsure of what to really say. I inhaled a shaky breath and nodded. "Um... Okay." He shot Hypnos a look and they nodded. Hypnos pulled me towards him and started to walk towards my car still parked at the end of the road. I looked back to where my husband stood, but he was so camouflaged in the dark of the night that it was hard to spot him.
Hypnos whispered; "She'll be alright, Rora. It happens to them all."
"I know. It's just..." I stared after him and noticed him moving along the tree line toward the house with so much grace. "It's easy to forget what he has to do every day."
"It's what he was born to do."
"Yes, I suppose you're right..."
"He can handle it."
"I know he can, I just wish he didn't have to."
I broke my gaze from the moving shadow and looked ahead to where my car was parked next to the curb. But I saw nothing. His shadow played at the back of my eyes and I hoped that the old woman's death would be quick and painless.
It was easy to forget.
Very easy to forget that death was now a permanent part of my life.
To be honest, I think there's a lot that Thanatos keeps from Aurora and in itself, it's sort of a beautiful sacrifice he makes every day to exclude her from what he has to do.
I think their relationship works so well, because she knows that he will never be as simple or easy to pinpoint. And perhaps that is for the best. Death comes and goes when it chooses.
I also hope you have some more insight into Amphitrite and Poseidon's love.
