Mama never listened. Always checking Facebook, checking Instagram, checking everything else but me.

I told her – warned her.

"He's in the walls, mama. The dark man is in the walls, can't you hear him scratching to get out?" 

But she didn't hear him and she didn't hear me.

She heard him when he whispered in her ear though. When he clapped a hand over her face, his burnt cracked skin peeling and flaking into her mouth.

Mama's in the walls now too and she doesn't just scratch to get out, she screams.

Now it's my turn not to listen.
