Chapter 3
Next day, Kekoa's flight arrived at Honolulu International Airport in the early morning. Kekoa grabbed her both her traveling bags after the airplane arrived at the gate. She walked out of the gate and walked down the hallway to the front of the airport.
Kekoa truly enjoyed being back home once more in her life. She never went back home after running away from knowing something was wrong with her aunts for forcing her to do something. She nearly stayed away from Hawaii for knowing her aunts meant to send someone to find her. Kekoa walked out of the airport while letting the ocean breeze go through her hair. She waited for her ride to come before an officer was walking towards her. Officer looks at Kekoa.
"Hello miss Kekoa, I'm here to bring you to Five-O headquarters by Mcgarret's order." Officer said to Kekoa.
Officer picked up her two bags and brought her to his car. Kekoa got into the officer's car and the officer got into the driver seat. He started driving his car out of the airport to the road to the Five-O headquarters. Kekoa enjoys looking out at the officer's car window and seeing the beauty of Oahu.
Later that morning, officers drive down the streets and drive into the parking lot next to the Five-O Headquarters Five-O Headquarters. Kekoa got out of the officer's car and officer's grabbed her two traveling bags out of the back of his car. Officer gave her traveling bags and brought her to the headquarters. He brought her inside the headquarters and she grabbed a visitor pass from the front desk. Kekoa followed the officer towards the elevator and got into the elevator. Kekoa walked into a briefing room out of the elevator with offices and two young men's walking towards her.
"Aloha Miss Kekoa, welcome to Five-O Headquarters. I'm Steve McGarret and this is Daniel Williams. I see you have seen news stories about chiefs going missing and come here to help. Five-O would let you join in to help find missing chiefs." Steve said to Kekoa.
Kekoa follows them to a big table and stays by Steve. She watched them talking about the plan to rescue chiefs. Steve took Kekoa to his office and he looked at Kekoa.
"I'm going to let Tani take you to the hotel and she will be your agent for keeping you safe from being related to one of the chiefs." Steve said to Kekoa.
Tani walked into Steve's office and she took Kekoa back to the elevator and out of Five-O Headquarters towards her car. Tani grabbed Kekoa's two traveling bags into the back of her car. Kekoa got into the front seat of Tani's car and Tani got into her driver seat. She started driving her car out of the parking lot into the street. Tani drives down the street to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. She drove into the parking building and parked her car on the future floor of the parking building. She got out of her car and got Kekoa's traveling bags out of the back of her car. Kekoa got out of the front seat and followed Tani towards the elevator. They got into the elevator and got to the first floor to check in into the hotel suite. Tani brought Kekoa the different elevator and went to one of the top floors of the hotel. Tani brought Kekoa down the hallway to their suite and they got to the hotel suite. Tani opened the door and put Kekoa's two traveling bags on the bed and walked onto the balcony. Kekoa sat down on the couch next to the window and she looked out the window to see the ocean.
Later that evening, Kekoa was staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. It was a beautiful and amazing resort in Honolulu. Kekoa was sitting on the bed looking at more new articles on her laptop while looking at the view of the ocean. Tani walked into the hotel suite while holding dinner in her hands after getting it from one of the restaurants downstairs. She put their dinner down on the counter and she sat down across from Kekoa on the bed and looked at the view too.
"Kekoa, I know it's hard that your brother was kidnapped and Five-O would find him. I have been doing little research about your family and tribe that it's been few last tribes in Hawaii who's loyalty to the Hawaiian Royal Families. Your mother was born royal by bloodline. I think the people who took chiefs were looking for you and your brother. Only good thing is you were somewhere safe and Five-O would keep you safe." Tani said to Kekoa.
Kekoa was surprised that she was royalty and her mother didn't even tell her before she died. Tani got her phone and showed her pictures of her mother before she married her father.
"I never knew that my mother was royalty and she never thought to tell me. Since my parents died from sickness I was sent to my aunt's manor and it's amazing to be allowed to explore the gardens, horseback riding, and go to the beach. My aunts told me about my mother that I was so much like her and they told me about my future to marry a brave man. One week before my 15 birthday, I wanted to go to Philadelphia to have a better life and I secretly left my island home for Philadelphia. I was adopted by a very nice and loving family. They have two girls who were so excited about having a new sister. I told them about why I secretly left my home and they helped me to have an amazing life. Since I started high school everyone helps me to learn how much I missed and I help my new family to cook island food. I never knew that taking this life would help me to get to this dream." Kekoa said to Tani.
Tani was surprised that the young girl left everything behind to have a better life and now try everything in finding her brother. Tani got up from the side of the bed and walked towards the door. She looked at Kekoa after she gave a second small box with dinner to her.
"Kekoa, you should know that Five-O would do anything to find your brother and other chiefs. I would keep you updated for knowing they might go after you next for being the sister of the chief. You should remember if you need me tomorrow just find me at the beach or at the cafe. I would be in another room and report back to Steve." Tani said to Kekoa.
Tani opened the door and left the room into the other room. Kekoa put her laptop down on the bedside table and got up from the bed and walked into the bathroom after her night clothes from her second traveling bag. She got ready for her first night in Oahu and she returned back to the bed. She soon fell asleep in bed after turning off her laptop.
Next day, Kekoa woke up after having the sunshine through the curtains and she got out of bed to get ready for the day. She started having deep feelings inside of her for almost hearing her brother's voice who was calling her name for help. She walked onto the balcony and sat down on one of the two chairs after getting ready for the day. She looked out at the ocean while she remembers her mother telling her stories about Hawaiian myths before the sickness came to the village. She still remembers people screaming and crying after losing loved ones from the sickness. She remembers crying after watching her parents leaving her from a very young age. She remembers her mother telling her to keep eyes on the ocean. She got up from the chair and walked back into her hotel suite, where she saw breakfast on the desk. She grabbed her breakfast off the desk and sat down on the bed. She noticed Ellie was trying to call her and send voicemail on her phone. She grabbed her phone off the bedside table and she played the voicemail to let her eat some of her breakfast.
"Hey Kekoa, sorry for not calling you yesterday. Our team was a little busy helping Gibbs and...." Ellie said to Kekoa.
Kekoa wonders who's with Gibbs and figures out what's going on back home. She finished eating her breakfast and put her plates back on the desk after getting out of the bed. She went back to the bathroom where she finished getting ready for her day. She walked out of the bathroom and grabbed her backpack out from one of her two traveling bags. She walked out of her hotel suite into the hallway. She walked down the hotel hallway while walking into the elevator area to push the down arrow bottom. She walked into the opened elevator after waiting for one of the elevators to come to get to the floor. She got out of the elevator after arriving on the frost floor where she walked to the front of the hotel. Tani drives her car out of the parking building and drives through the road in front of the hotel. Kekoa got into the front seat after throwing her bag in the backseat. Tani drives her car out of the hotel and drives down the street back to headquarters.
Later that morning, Tani parked her car in the parking lot near the Five-O headquarters and brought Kekoa inside the briefing room after letting her grab a visitor pass at the front desk. Kekoa stays next to Tani where her team was talking about each of the chiefs and figuring out where they are. Kekoa walked into Steve's office and sat down on the couch while grabbing her laptop to find information on her brother. She looked at different news articles on her laptop and she looked at any pictures of her brothers. She found some old news articles about her childhood hometown. She reads the new article to find clues to find where her brother is in helping Five-O. Steve walked into his office after talking with his team to go to different locations to find more clues on the missing chiefs. He sat down at his desk before noticing Kekoa sitting on his couch being on her laptop.
"Kekoa, we have found important information that people who want to take you are planning to take you during an event at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Me and my team are planning to let you stay at my house while we go find the missing chiefs. You should know that your mother's family knows about you and wants to meet you. They already sent up bodyguards to keep you safe. For now I have Tani going back to the hotel to get your bags and I personally take you to my house." Steve said to Kekoa.
Kekoa turned off her laptop and put her laptop back into her backpack. She got up from the couch after grabbing her backpack and she followed Steve out of his office towards the elevator. He brought her to his car and drove out of the parking lot into the street. Kekoa looks out the front seat window to see people having fun at the beach or walking by the shops. Steve looks at Kekoa for seeing her being happy with being back home after reading flies about her.
"Kekoa, you should know how you feel about being back home. I know about you from reading old case files and recent files from NCIS after finding out about one of the chiefs who was related to you. I saw you finally found the old news articles about your aunts sending search groups to find you. You were very good for going to the mainland before getting caught by NCIS. It would be a good thing to be in the mainland for another half of your life. NCIS sends information to the Honolulu Police Department after you finally come back to find your brother. You should know that you are protected by my team and bodyguards from your mom's family." Steve said to Kekoa.
Kekoa turned her head to listen to Steve while she kept her eyes on the sea and it reminded her of her mother's beautiful voice inside her mind. Steve drives his car down the road and into the neighborhood street to his house where Tani gets out of her car after waiting for them. Tani helps Kekoa get out of the front seat of Steve's car and bring her inside Steve's house. Kekoa walked up the stairs to the second floor. She walked down the hallway and walked into the guest bedroom where she found her two traveling bags on the guest bed. Steve looks at Tani while they walk out of his house towards their cars.
"Tani, you know that we have to keep Kekoa safe after her brother got kidnapped. I'm guessing that someone close to their aunts did this by paying a group to kidnap chiefs from tribes on the big island of Hawaii. We should go search for the missing chiefs tonight and I would contact Kekoa if we find her brother or not. Now get the rest of our team and start searching around the two islands. I will stay here at my house to protect Kekoa." Steve said to Tani.
Tani nodded at Steve and walked towards her car. She gets into her car and drives back to her headquarters. Steve walked back inside his house and walked into the kitchen where he started making dinner for him and Kekoa. Kekoa was sitting on the bed and looking out the window to see the ocean. She felt joy in her heart to hear the waves crashing on the sand. Then she grabbed her phone and texted her adopted family about her being back in Hawaii. She was happy to hear from them that they are glad for her to return home. Kekoa got up from the bed and walked out of the guest bedroom into the hallway. She walked down the stairs into the living room to the kitchen, where Steve was finished making dinner. Steve puts their dinner on two plates where he sees Kekoa walking into the kitchen.
"Kekoa, I would be here only for dinner and I want to let you help the search for finding clues or hints in news articles or flies. It would be great for being an NCIS agent. You have returned to your Hawaiian roots after taking a huge risk for running away from home to start a new better life. Your parents should be proud of having a strong-willed daughter. Now I want to tell you more about your parents over dinner." Steve said to Kekoa.
Steve grabbed the two plates after finishing putting their dinner on the two plates. He brought them into the dining room to have Kekoa following him. Kekoa and Steve sat down at the dining table after Steve put the two plates down on the dining table. Kekoa started eating her dinner while Steve grabbed his laptop from his bag near his chair. He turned on his laptop and showed pictures of Kekoa's parents before they married.
"I have my friends from police and the Navy departments in getting information about your birth parents and I see that you know the truth about your mother. You should know the full truth about your parents. I should start by talking about your grandmother who left Oahu. It was years after the Royal Hawaiian Family ended to make Hawaii a state of the United States. Your grandmother starts a new life in Pahoa on Big Island and she falls in love with a true Hawaiian native who's the chief of a small village near Pahoa. She has your mother who was the last child after her mother died from childbirth. Her dear mother left her two older daughters to help raise her only daughter, who has two daughters who were much older. Your mother ran away from her father's tribe to go to another tribe near Hilo, where she met your father when she was 14 years old. Your father's parents welcome your mother to their tribe to be a great match for their son who believes in letting their son find his love, instead of being forced. Your parents got to know each other and your mother learned more about her Hawaiian ancestry in a different light. They finally got married in a traditional Hawaiian wedding when they decided to be the right age. Your father was the new chief after your grandfather passed away peacefully during their first year of marriage. They have your brother in keeping the line of chiefs pure. Your brother was a bright and smart boy for being the next chief. Your father has let one of his warriors teach him how to be a brave warrior like his father. Then two years later, you were born in the night during the full moon and your mother was deeply happy to have a daughter in letting her son have more time with his father. I read from the flies about your parents being part of the sickness that took half of the tribe. There were some flies about your brother to be tickled by his two aunts to let you be raised by them. You should know that I would get my team to do more research on your two aunts. Now I should go to join my team to find your brother and other chiefs. I will be back later this evening with an update from the search." Steve said to Kekoa.
Steve got up from his chair and grabbed his plate off the dining table. He brought his plate in the kitchen sick and walked out of the kitchen into the living room where he grabbed his backpack for going to his car. Kekoa grabbed her plate off the dining table to get up from the chair. She walked into the kitchen and started washing the dishes in the kitchen sink to be helpful. She walked out of the kitchen into the living room towards the stairs. She walked up the stairs and walked into the guest bedroom. She grabbed her laptop from one of her two traveling bags and sat down on the bed. She started looking at pictures of her adoptive family who had brought her into their small family.
Later that evening, Steve returned to his house with his dog and started making snacks in the kitchen. Kekoa was sitting on the couch in Steve's house. She was checking on her phone after eating her snack and called Ellie. She was looking at news articles about the missing chiefs on her laptop.
"Hey Kekoa, I told Gibbs about why you left and he told me to let you go find your brother. For being the right thing to have family first before anything. He was very proud of what you did with going to Hawaii and finding your brother. When you do return to Washington D.C. there's someone who wants to meet you." Ellie said to Kekoa.
She turned off her phone and put it away into her backpack. Then a dog jumped on the couch next to Kekoa and sat down next to her. Steve turned her head around after looking at the flies and noticed a dog sitting next to her on the same couch. Steve walked out of the kitchen after putting the snacks in the fridge. She grabbed a dog treat
"Kekoa, this is Eddie and he is a new member of the Five-O Task Force. Tani and Junior found your brother and other chiefs on the big island of Hawaii. I'm going to leave to join them to rescue your brother and I let Daniel stay with you. There's dinner inside the kitchen and you are welcome to get some dinner. I know that Daniel would keep you company." Steve said to Kekoa.
Steve leaves his house to his car. Kekoa got off the couch and walked into the kitchen towards the fridge. She grabbed one of the snacks after opening the fridge to put the snacks on a plate. She walked out of the kitchen back into the living room where Eddie was still sitting on the couch. She sat down on the couch and started eating her snacks while looking at the flies on her laptop. Daniel drove his car into the driveway and parked his car to get out of his car to grab some bags from his backseat. He walked inside Steve's house while putting the bags down on the table next to the door. Daniel walked towards the second couch and sat down on the couch where he petted Eddie's head while he saw Kekoa reading news articles on her laptop.
"Hello Kekoa, I'm here to protect you and keep you company. Steve and our team go searching for our brother and other chiefs to rescue them. You know that you really remind me of my daughter Grace. I would tell my daughter about you after things calm down. For now I would be outside if you need me." Daniel said to Kekoa.
Kekoa finished eating her snacks and Daniel grabbed her plate. He went into the kitchen and Kekoa walked upstairs after turning off her laptop to get some rest for tomorrow. She went to the guest bedroom and got ready for bed. She got into the bed by putting her laptop on her lap to start new research on her mother's past to know more about her mother. She was very curious about why her grandmother and her mother had run away for unknown reasons.
Later that night, Kekoa was still on her laptop doing her new research on her mother and knowing her side of her family. She noticed a message from Gibbs who sent her flies. She looked through the flies about her youngest self who was found by NCIS and brought to one of the orphanages. She looked through the files to find information about her being from the Big Island of Hawaii and showed she was protected by NCIS from hearing about people searching for her. She was surprised to be protected from unknown reasons. She tried to look through the information in the files and she failed to find nothing about why she was protected by NCIS. She looked out the window and saw the stars shining in the night sky, where she hoped to learn more about her mother. Then soon she turned off her laptop and put it back into her backpack after getting sleepy. She fell asleep after doing late night research.
Four hours later, Kekoa was asleep on the bed for a while before she
woke up after hearing her phone ringing. She woke up from her sleep to grab her phone on the bedside table and answered her phone.
"Hey Kekoa! This is Steve. Five-O rescuing your brother and other chiefs. I'm going to send Tani to get you at my house right now." Steve said to Kekoa.
She was surprised and joyful that her brother is okay. She turned off her phone to get out of bed. She walked into the bathroom to take a fast shower and got dressed after grabbing her clothes from one of her traveling bags. She grabbed her two traveling bags off the end of the bed and walked down the stairs to the front door. She walked out of Steve's house where Tani was stopping her car in front of Steve's house. Kekoa run towards Tani and got into the front seat after throwing her two traveling bags in the backseat. Tani drives her car back to the headquarters while Kekoa had her hand on the window for being so happy to see her again after she ran away from home.
Later that early morning, Kekoa got out of Tani's car after Tani parked her car in the parking lot. Tani brought Kekoa into the briefing room after letting her grab a visitor pass from the front desk.
Kekoa looks through the group of chiefs and spots her brother talking with Steve. She ran towards her brother and gave him a big hug. She has joyful tears down her face being so happy that her brother was okay. He let go of his sister and looked at Steve.
"Thank you Steve McGarret and Five-O Task Force for rescuing me and other chiefs. I knew that my sister left Hawaii a long time ago and she was better off living somewhere else than here. It was my fault to fall into my two aunt's ticks after giving them to my dear little sister. I have sent a message to NCIS to protect my little sister from my aunts. I have been sending my spies to know what's going on in my mother's family by forcing my mother to run away from them. I would help with stopping my aunts from what they are doing in secret. For now, I should bring my little sister to the airport to return to the mainland after coming back to find him." Kekoa's brother said to the Five-O Task Force team.
Kekoa stays next to her brother while he talks with Steve and others. Steve and his team brought Kekoa and her brother out of their headquarters towards a group of vans. Steve brings Kekoa and her brother towards the middle van and he looks at Kekoa.
"Kekoa, your mother's family has sent an escort to bring you and Five-O Task Force to the airport. This is an apology for having your mother and you run away from home after what your aunts did. The Five-O Task Force would start to find information about your aunts and figure out what they were planning to do with you and your mother." Steve said to Kekoa.
Steve opened the back van door and let Kekoa and her brother into the van backseat. Kekoa was truly amazing with being back with her brother after so many years of living her new life in Pennsylvania. Steve closed the van back door and got into one of the vans. All of the van drivers drive the vans down the street into the road to the airport. Kekoa enjoys listening to her brother talking about their parents while they get to the airport.
Later that afternoon, Group of vans got to the airport where Kekoa and her brother got out of the van. Steve and the rest of his team got out of the other vans. Tani got out of her car after grabbing Kekoa's two traveling bags from her backseat. Tani gave Kekoa her two traveling bags and rejoined her team. They walked towards the gate after going through security. Kekoa was hugging her brother for saying her goodbyes to him before returning back to the mainland. Steve grabbed a small box from his pocket and gave it to Kekoa.
"Kekoa, here's a small gift from the Five-O Task Force to remind you of Hawaii and to return again one day." Steve said to Kekoa.
Kekoa opened the small box showing a wooden surfboard necklace. She gave a hug to Steve for saying thank you for the gift. She let go of her hug to Steve and she looked at her brother with tears in her eyes. Keahi put his hands on his sister's shoulders and he looked at his dear little girl, he saw their mother's spirit in her.
"Kekoa, I should say sorry about going to be our trickful aunts to let you live with them after losing our parents. I am the one who has NCIS protect you after you run away from Hawaii. Our aunts were the ones who had almost put our mother and you into arranged marriages before both of you ran away from them. Our parents have tried to warn me to not be tricked by our aunts. I have been so proud of you for making a new life in Philadelphia and now living in Washington DC. I know that our parents would be proud of you having your own life instead of here. Remember that the ocean is where you're most connected to in your heart to remind you of your birth home. Now aloha kaikaina, may we see each other again." Keahi said to Kekoa.
Kekoa hugged her brother for having an amazing big brother who cares so much about keeping her safe. She walked towards her gate after having once more looked at her brother and Five-O Task Force and she walked into the airplane to get to her seat for being first class. She enjoys the flight back to Washington D.C. to know that she would be able to go back to Hawaii anytime.
