A Sith Encounter
This is all I have for the moment. Let me know what else could happen next to continue this
....
It was dusk by the time the unusual trio, a Clone, a Droid, and a former Sith Assassin made their way back to the Temple, making sure that no other Stormtroopers detected them. The group quickly snuck in the shadows to the side of the building to a little area where Ventress learned from her old Jedi Master that was a secret entrance that he discovered.
"This is one of the only undetected ways in," she whispered, using the force to gently remove the entrance to the tunnel. "I think that one of you should guard this area until we get what we came for." Her and Zack's eyes drifted over to Soren, who felt slightly startled at this motion to him.
"M-me?" He squawked, his electronic nerves getting the better of him. "B-but I haven't stood guard over anything before. I'm just a maintenance droid that was suddenly sent on a last minute mission to get rid of me!" He was shaking now. But Zack gave him a smack on the shoulder.
"You'll be fine, old Clanker! It'll be just for a half hour or so, if we get out of this in one piece!" He laughed a bit before he followed Ventress inside. "Thanks for the words of confidence!" Soren snapped sarcastically before drawing out his weapon and casting his eyes around nervously.
......
A few escapades later (probably won't go into full detail, or we will be here all day), and Ventress and Zack were standing in front of the door. She used the Force to make their way past security codes and the two ventured in.
"Thank the Force they haven't detected us, yet," Zack muttered, as he stared in amazement at all the Holocorons lining the walls.
"We can make it without a scratch," smirked Ventress, as a few Holocrons close by caught her eye. She forced them from their spots and floated right into her hands. "I think we will have a pretty good payout from these!" She whispered triumphantly. But then she felt something. A disturbance.
Her eyes drew up to a Holocron glowing even brighter than the others in the Vault. She walked toward it.
"What are you doing?" Hissed Zack. "We got what we came for!" She shook her head. "There's something about this one," she murmured, raising her hand and guiding it to her. It went into her grasp and she gasped a bit, feeling a small connection, like somebody she knew had done something with this particular Holocron.
"Ventress, can we please get out of here?! He'll wonder what's become of us!" Growled Zack irritatidly, tugging on her arm. She was still curious about the glowing Holocron. Shaking herself, she then nodded and stored them in her bag, following their route to the entrance.
......
Soren paced back and fourth in anxiety, praying that they weren't caught. Where are you guys?? He thought, his panic rising as he held out his gun, preparing himself for anyone or anything.
He suddenly heard movement near the entrance and jumped, pointing his weapon. "Don't shoot!" Hissed Zack silently. "It's us!" Soren sighed in relief, seeing his partners coming out alive. "What took you so long??" He persisted in worry.
Zack rolled his eyes. "Someone was distracted," he muttered, pointing to. Ventress who glared at him.
"If I weren't being nice right now I'd slash you for that!" She growled. "Now let's-" She suddenly staggered, a cold feeling taking over her senses. No, she thought. It can't be!
Clone and Droid looked confused and worried. "What's happening to you?" Zack asked, scared at what the answer will be, for he had seen this before.
"I feel... cold," whispered Ventress. "Something is coming!" As though in response, a metallic alien breathing began, making them all tense up and turn around, Soren was scared for what he was about to see.
A man dressed all in black along with an intimidating skull like helmet was standing before them in front of the Temple with a few Stormtroopers behind him. He had a red lightsaber ignited.
Ventress narrowed her eyes, drawing her lightsabers. "So," she growled, you're my old Master's new pet, aren't you?" Soren trembled all over at the sight of this new monster of the Empire.
The sith moved forward. "I see you haven't changed, Asajj," He said in a deep evil voice that sent shivers down Zack's body. He stayed near his droid friend, who was still shaking.
"Should I know you?" Demanded Ventress sourly, gripping her lightsabers tightly. "You should." The sith answered. "You scared me once. I still have that scar. Right over my eye. I believe it was on a mission with my old master."
Those words struck Ventress. She just couldn't believe it was him. "Skywalker!" She exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief. He suddenly clenched his hands, and her breath was suddenly cut off.
"Anakin Skywalker is dead!" He roared, tossing her a few feet away. "Darth Vader now remains!" He turned to his troopers. "Shoot the others. I'll deal with the Assassin."
Zack immediately drew his weapon, and lasers suddenly were thrown their way. Soren yelped as he immediately ran behind a statue nearby while Zack continued to dodge and shoot back.
Ventress stood up, still sore from her throw. She heard Vader behind her. Activating her sabers, she turned around, glaring hard. The two clashed blades together in a deadly dance.
Soren peered out from his hiding place, watching the fight. He had never seen anything this tense in a fight before. Sith and Bounty Hunter fought each other with deadly accuracy, though Ventress's moves were quicker than Vader's, who moved stiffly in his armor.
The fight went on for ten minutes until Vader got the upper hand. He used the Force Choke hold on her again, sending her flying into another statue, knocking her out.
Soren flinched a bit from that. I'm in trouble, he thought in fear, crouching down in his hiding spot. Vader turned around casting his eyes everywhere for him.
"I can sense your fear, droid. Most unusual. Most droids don't feel emotion. Why is that?" He force pushed a few boxes littering the area out of they way, looking for him.
Soren whimpered a bit, feeling trapped. His friends were still in trouble from his end. Ventress was still out, and Zack was fending off the rest of the battalion. He was stuck. And Vader was getting closer.
"Why are you still active while the others were ordered to shut down? What magic got into you?" Vader continued, casting his eyes over right to where he was.
The droid couldn't help but give out a small whimper as the lifeless eyes of the Sith met his own. He tried to run, but he felt an invisible force pulling him towards his enemy. He was even more terrified when he saw it was Vader doing it.
"Help!" He wailed as his form was pulled toward the Sith. Zack saw what was happening, but couldn't do anything about it since he was busy with the rest of the enemy.
Vader gazed at him coldly. "I should just slice you apart, like the rest of your kind I destroyed." If Soren were flesh and blood, he would have gulped in fear. But instead he just trembled while floating in mid air, wondering what his fate would be.
"But I believe there could possibly be some use for you with my Master. He would be most interested in you," Vader said, almost looking like he was smiling evilly under his mask.
"I-I'll never go w-with you!" Stuttered Soren, trying to be brave, but failing. He struggled to break free again. "You will pay for killing my family!" He cried. Soren suddenly felt himself being flung against the statue, crying out in pain as sparks flew off his metal skin.
He could feel the warm blade of the lightsaber moving close to his neck and whimpered.
"Then you shall meet your destiny," growled Vader, readying his saber to finish off Soren. He shut his optics, awaiting his death.
Suddenly, he heard Vader roar out in pain as a blaster shot echoed out and felt himself hit the floor with a crash. He groaned a bit in pain and struggled to sit up, seeing that Vader was holding his mask in pain.
It was Zack who shot Vader. He finished off the last of the Stormtroopers, and noticed Vader was about to kill his friend, and used the trigger, hitting Vader on the back of his helmet. Zack quickly ran over to Soren.
"Are you alright?" He asked, feeling worried for his friend.
Soren was feeling rather overwhelmed by his near death that he couldn't really speak for a while. But then he noticed Ventress unconscious a few yards. "We-we must help her and get out of here..." he mumbled, trying his best to get up.
Vader managed to overcome the pain of the blaster, and he spotted the traitorous Clone and Droid making their way to Ventress, and he started toward them.
Zack was trying to wake her up. "Please, Ventress," Said Soren weakly. "He's coming. Wake up!" Ventress opened her eyes, her vision blurry, but she can just see Vader and a Walker headed their way. She then got an idea. It strained her force abilities, but she had to do it.
Lifting her hand, she concentrated with the force on the Walker, using all her strength. She grunted as the Walker sparked with flames and began to descend downward right into Vader, who looked up, and raised his own hand, right as the Walker crashed down onto him and was set up in flames.
Zack was open mouthed at that and Soren was starstruck with amazement. Even when she was wounded, she can still use the force to destroy things. They eventually snapped out of it and began to carry her to their speeder, for she passed out after that.
Behind them, Vader lifted the walker out of the way with the Force, flames and smoke billowing around him as he glared after his enemies. One day, he thought darkly. I will kill you three. Just you wait. You can't run forever from the Darkside!
Zack has gotten into the Speeder and powered it up while Soren sat in the back, watching over Ventress. Dark thoughts filled his mind. Is there even a point to all of this, now that an angry Sith is on our tail? Is it my fault my friends got hurt?
He sighed a bit in distress as the Speeder made its way to the Underground. They needed to sell their Holocrons if they wanted to get out of the Courscant system!
