Entry 8

I ran to the starting point, Grenade Launcher in hand. I was wearing the giant bulletproof vest Demo told me to wear that had grenades attached to the sides. Everyone was finishing up getting ready when I arrived. Demo was chugging down a drink when he saw me. He lowered the bottle from his brown lips. "Yer a tad bit late."
"Yeah, I know. Sorry. Won't happen again." He looked back at the empty bottle, at me, then back at his bottle. Suddenly, he smashed the bottom of the bottle against the wall, then handed it to me. Well...I should of saw that coming. He took out a gargantuan sword called the Eye Lander, and began to wildly swing it around. I could kind of tell he was drunk, or near it. "Alright!" He slurred. "Let's do this!"
The battle was nearing its end after we took over a point. "We did it!" Demo cried out. "Now it's our flippin' point, hehaha!" He gave me a high five (which hurt like hell). I smiled. "Ya did good lassie," he then said, rubbing my hair (which was kind of annoying). "Now let's show them BLUs what we got!"
"Yeah!" I yelled, raising my broken bottle in the air. Suddenly, I heard a bullet whiz by me and saw Demo fall to the ground. Note: at this point we were alone so I could hear the shooter crystal clear. "Take that, ya bloody one-eyed drunk!"
Of course, it was a sniper. I ran to the Demo, hoping to save him somehow. He was barely alive. "Demo! Demo! Get up! Please!!! Ugh...merde..."
I frantically looked for the doc when I saw a blue beam aimed at my head. "Just be careful of snipers. If you see blue line pointed at you, run," Heavy had told me.
"Sorry, Demo. I'll see you back at base." I ran into the building as fast as I could. I heard a gunshot and could barely make out a bullet missing me, hitting the dirt below. I ran up to the stairs, hoping to find the control point. However, I instead found that Sniper's hideout. I froze for a few seconds. He hadn't noticed me yet so I quietly took out my bottle and snuck behind him. I  don't know if it was for revenge or a small fear that he could sabotage the mission somehow, but I immediately attacked. In my opinion, it was pretty...gruesome. But, then again, we are in a war so...

I stabbed the man in the neck with the sharp edges of the bottle. He fell to the ground, dropping the rifle and began to choke as I let go of the bottle. It was lodged in his throat. I slowly began to back away before breaking out into a run.

Later that night, I was walking to my room, when I heard soft sobs coming from Demo's room. Curious and concerned, I paused at his door. Hesitantly, I knocked and waited. "Go away!" I heard him yell.

"Demo...it's me, Tal." Silence. Five seconds later, the door opened.

 "What is it?" Demo asked.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay...I heard what that Sniper said to you and..." Demo looked down the hallway and made sure no one was there. He then looked back at me.

"Come in, lassie." I walked in after him and he motioned for me to sit on a chair that was in the middle of the room. He sat down on his bed after closing the door behind me.

"What's wrong?" I asked him after a moment of silence.

"...Everyone thinks I'm...God damn it..." He began to weep again and I just sat there, not knowing what to do. This had never happened to me before. So,  I tried my best to calm him down.

"It's okay, Demo... You don't have to say it..." He continued anyway.

"Everyone thinks I'm just a one-eyed bloody monster..."

 "Th-that's not true!" I exclaimed.

" You heard what that bloody camper said!" Demo snapped at me. "And it was much worse before you came 'ere."

"Not everyone thinks you're a monster, Demo...I don't and none of the others do, I'm sure of it! Just don't listen to the other team. They don't really matter. You have your friends..." At the word friends, Demo stiffened up, as if it caused him to remember something horrible.

"Ay, friends  got me in trouble wit' ta Administrator. But that doesn't matter. Ya can go now, Tal. Thank you..." I left the room, not knowing whether I helped or not. I hope I did...
