Introduction
Before we get started on the little details of how my passion for writing began, I would like to divulge a tiny irrelevant detail that you might find interesting.
I USED TO HATE WRITING.
Yes, the young lady who wrote this mini-memoir used to harbor ill feelings toward this craft and skill. I guess you can say it's ironic. Honestly, if I had the chance to go back to the past and tell my younger self that I would eventually love writing, I'm sure Past-Me would just laugh and call me crazy.
When we were tasked to write an essay (English or Filipino) in school, I used to dread having to write even just one sentence, and spend the next couple of minutes what to put for the second one and so forth. I had terrible grammar that made it hard for my teachers to get my point. My papers were always covered in red pen marks, especially when it came to the number of misspelled words I put on every time. Nowadays, I still have spelling problems (not as worse as before). I think I'm a bit dyslexic, but that's probably me making up an excuse as to why I still can't spell properly despite everything I've tried to fix it.
You're most probably rolling your eyes at me for this rambling. Better turn the page and finally find out how I got dragged in in to a world where we paint colorful pictures using words in black.
