6-Harsh Words-Jesse

I got out of the car and slammed the door behind me, ignoring the driver. I walked up to the front door of my house and went inside, not even bothering with politeness.

My house-well, my father's house-was three stories high, with fancy furniture and rich people items. I'll cut to the chase. Yep, we're rich. But that isn't always a good thing. Not for me, that is. Not exactly.

I squinted at the bright light of the chandelier and began walking inside.

"Well, look who finally came back from the hole she was hiding in." A voice said dryly.

I rolled my eyes at the woman across the hall from me, my so called 'stepmother.'

Gina Way. Who knew someone with such a pretty name could be such a pain in the ass. She's a snobby, stuck-up, actual piece of crap. I don't know why my father married her in the first place. She has light brown hair with blonde highlights and wears too much makeup that she looks like an undercover clown.

"Hey, at least I got out." I retorted, and she huffed. She took a seat on one of the chairs and began examining her nails, which were a very disgusting shade of pink. I grimaced when she started to pucker her lips and took out her lipstick.

"What's that color? Trash dump? Totally suits you." I exclaimed, giving her a forced smile. She growled and snapped her hand mirror.

"I could do things that will make you regret saying that, Missy."

"Try me."

I whistled past her and headed toward my room upstairs. Fortunately and unfortunately, it was on the third floor. I liked it because I have privacy, but I hated it because whenever I needed something I had to walk back and forth. Going up and down two flights of stairs multiple times can do a thing or two to your legs.

I headed into my room, closing and locking the door behind me. It was pretty big, with a few dressers, a bed, and some usual furniture. The walls were a deep, night blue color, one of my favorites, with stars on the ceiling. There were also some posters on the wall, building competitions from school and old pictures. Most of them I took down and stuffed under the bed, for personal reasons.

I quickly changed into sweatpants and a sweater and grabbed my teal headphones, plugging them into my phone and picking out a song. I flopped myself on the bed, and was right in between choosing "Like Me Better" or "How Long" when there was a knock on my door. I groaned and grabbed a stress ball from the floor, cause heck I needed it, and threw it at the door.

"Go away Gina. I don't need your bitchiness right now." I shouted, eyeing my crimson door.

"Jesse, let me in." I stopped for a second, recognizing the voice and then hesitated, before getting up from my bed and unlocking the door. I opened it a bit to see my father, his dark hair like mine but brown eyes dull. I gave him a glare.

"What do you want?" I asked harshly, brushing some hair out of my face.

"Can I come in?"

"No."

I began to close the door when something stopped it. I looked down to his foot wedged between the door.

"That-" he bit his lip. "-was surprisingly painful."

I gritted my teeth and then left him, laying down on my bed once more. He walked in and grabbed my rolling chair from my desk and took a seat, watching as I scrolled through my phone. After a few moments of awkward silence, I threw off my headphones and glared at him.

"You gonna say something? Or are you just going to watch me all day?" I asked coldly, grabbing a hair tie from the other side of my bed and tying my hair. He looked at me for a moment before sighing, running a hand through his hair.

"You need to stop fighting with Gina." My father said, somewhat sternly.

A burst of anger bubbled inside me as I scoffed.

"Is that what you came here to talk to me about? Screw it." I replied, rolling my eyes once again. He stiffened, something flickering in his eyes.

"I know you don't like her, but you have to understand, I do. She's part of our lives now, Jesse. We have to-"

"Oh, so now I have to understand?!" I cried, no longer containing my anger. "Because she's apparently part of our lives?! No, she is not part of mine. Only yours. And you're the one who doesn't understand. Do you even think about me?! How I'm feeling?! No, all you do is sit in that chair, work in that office, and kiss that-pathetic excuse for a mother-or even, a person. What kind of father are you?!"

A shocked look crossed his face as I basically yelled at him, and he stood up from the chair.

"One that's trying to keep this family together." He exclaimed, voice a bit shaky.

I blinked before laughing bitterly, forcing a smile.

"Well, you're too late for that. This family fell apart a long time ago."

*"*"*"*"*"*"*

I snuck downstairs when no one was looking and grabbed myself some dinner, two leftover slices of pizza, some strawberries, and crushed ice with water. My room was dark except for the light of the TV which was playing on a random channel and a book light in the corner.

I was about get some ice from my cup when I heard a faint vibration. I turned to see my phone, a notification popping up on the lock screen, in front of my teal and black patterned wallpaper. I bit my lip and placed the cup down, grabbing my phone and reading the text.

After reading through the text I opened up my phone with a passcode and pressed the phone app, in which I called one of my contacts. The other line picked up almost immediately.

"Hey Jesse, you wanted to talk?" A female voice asked.

"Yeah, if you don't mind."

"Nah, I'm just watching TV. What happened?"

I smiled at my best friend, forgetting that she couldn't see it. But she was always there for me.

"I had another fight with my dad-nothing too big, but...it really riled me up. You want to sneak out or something? I need to get my mind off it." I asked her, right before hearing her sigh a bit in frustration.

"I totally would, but my parents are coming home soon. I don't want them to find the house empty." She replied, and I could feel a bit of disappointment, but pushed it away.

"Alright, that's fine."

"Do you need anything else?"

I thought for a moment, grabbing my cup of water and taking a sip, and then a lightbulb going off in my head. I grinned slyly.

"Actually Petra, there's this new guy in school. I need you to do something for me..."

Okay now we've got some insight on Jesse, the rich bada** popular girl, as promised (ooh, and Petra was finally mentioned~). I kinda liked writing this chapter, probably because it's so different from Lukas. Everyone's fighting and stuff and roasting each other lol and then his house is just like super chill.

Anyway, have any of you guys gotten really excited to write a certain part, but then realize that you have or write a boring part first and it just throws you off? Ughhhh I'm in that stage right now and I swear it's a pain in the butt. :/

But I will continue nevertheless, since you guys like it so much and I have big plans. :)

K, cya later!
