Chapter 38

The driver pulls up to the compound and looks at it then back to me with a shocked look on his face. It clearly wasn't what he expected.

"What are you like a millionaire or something?" The guy asks and I laugh. The compound, unlike Dad's Tower, is kept a huge secret by Shield because they don't want the Avengers to get a random attack when they least expect it. I mean, we live here and train here so it would be pretty bad if someone decided to attack.

"Something like that." I grin, taking my eyes off of the building. The shocked look is still glued to his face and I go to change the subject before he can ask anymore questions. "Here, thanks for the ride." I smile brightly and hand him the roll of cash Dad forced me to carry before I went out. The guy takes the cash and stares at it because honestly it's probably a lot but I'm too lazy right now to know how much exactly. Plus he deserves a tip.

"Thanks kid." He says and I climb out of the little car and walk up to the gate. I watch out of the corner of my eye as he drives away before I just scale the wall to avoid Dad and Pops. I don't feel like getting yelled at yet or explaining what went down yesterday. I make my way through the outskirts of the compound, not wanting to catch the attention of anyone and when I see the windows that lead to my room and climb up the wall.

When I reach my room without being caught I sigh I'm relief. So far I've avoided everyone. I look around my room and I make a face when I see my door is open. I try to think back to yesterday before I left to go to the party. I think I closed it which means someone was in my room.

"Welcome home, Peter." Fridays voice comes out of no where and I groan before making my way over to my bed and laying down. "Your fathers would like to see you in the living room."

"Who else is out there Friday?" I ask, not really planning on going out there and getting in trouble in front of everyone. Or getting in trouble at all but I don't really have a opinion there.

"Just the two. Everyone else decided to take some time to train downstairs in the gym." Friday responds and I can already tell this isn't going to be even close to good. If Clint isn't there to laugh at me or isn't hiding in the vents then that means something went down before I got here. I take a few breaths but the more I take the harder it gets to do so.

"Peter, are you ok? Should I call for assignment?" Friday asks and I shake my head no, still trying to get a breath in.

""No. I'm fine. Just- I just need- gimme a second." I struggle to finish my sentences and lean against the wall as I gag because I'm breathing too fast. I start counting in my head and once I reach 80, my breathing has slowed down and I feel slightly better. I move across the room to change out of my clothes I had been wearing since yesterday morning. I slide into some sweatpants and look through my closet for a hoodie but all I can find is Dean's sweatshirt. I roll my eyes but pull it over my head before walking into the hallway, counting to ten before taking a few steps down the hall and repeating it until I get close to the door to the living room. "Okay," I mumble to myself, preparing myself for what is about to happen, before sliding my phone into my pocket. I take one final deep breath before stepping into the room and see Dad and Pops are sitting at the table, not talking or even looking at each other.

There is a long pause when they both look at me and no one says anything. Dad breaks the silence after giving me a disapproving look.

"Peter Benjamin Rogers-Stark, where the hell have you been?" He asks and I stumble back a bit, recognizing the tone of his voice from the night where he had gotten drunk and yelled at me. "Y'know what? No. I don't care!" He laughs and looks over at Steve, who is giving him a look. "Steve was worried sick and all because you wanted to stay out without telling any of us! I mean, going out is great, yeah, go ahead, have fun! But going out without telling us? You didn't even tell Natasha or Clint or Bucky! You could've told anyone but you didn't. You didn't even think to answer any of our calls! Any of our texts! Honestly how fucking immature are you?" He yells and suddenly I don't feel welcomed here or like this is home. Aunt May never screamed at me like this, I would disappear for days and, yes, she would be worried but she never, never, yelled at me like this.

"Tony." Pops, y'know what screw that, Steve says with a tone that makes me want to back up more to put space between me and the two angry Avengers.

"I honestly don't fucking care Steve! He needs to understand that how bad he fucked up! He had the whole team fucking worried and look- he doesn't even care!" Tony says and I try to hold back tears. Not because I'm upset but because I'm pissed. Why should I treat them as my parents if they don't trust me or want me to be happy? They aren't even letting me explain myself! Aunt May always listened to me before getting angry and I could to her about everything under the moon but with these guys, I don't know if I trust them fully yet. I mean they would probably go over board with something if I told them and, yeah, I love them but some things I am going to keep to myself instead of telling them. For instance, Dean. Another being everything that's going on at school.

"Tony," I watch as Tony storms out of the room and Steve quickly follows him, neither of them stopping to look or talk to me for a second. I storm back to my room and as I go into the hallway the other Avengers are standing there giving me a confused look, wanting answers.

"Leave me alone." I mutter before going into my room and locking the door. I change into my suit and get ready to leave. "Karen, turn off Tony's tracker." I say, opening my bedroom window, I need to get out of the compound, away from everyone.

"Are you sure Peter? Your fathers won't be able to find you unless you turn it back on." The AI says, sounding cautious and I nod letting her know I understand.

"I'm sure." I say, knowing that if I get into trouble no one will be able to help me. Oh well.

"Tracker has been deactivated." Karen informs me and I smile proudly because why do I need Tony following me around all of the time? I don't.

"Thanks." I say before swinging away in my suit.

In the city, I end up stopping a few robberies, keeping a kid from being beaten up by a random dude, stopping three car crashes, scolding a drunk driver because he almost hit someone, and I help the fire department with a huge fire. When I finish helping them, I am tired so and I sit on top of a pretty tall building looking up at the stars.

"Hey, nice spandex." A voice says from behind me, making me jump. Usually my spider senses would tell me when someone is behind me but who ever is talking must've found a way around it.

"Who are you?" I say, standing up to see the person who no more then a few feet away from me. His outfit is red and black, like mine, but he carries real, legit, weapons. I eye them as I stand up to look at him because he's way taller then me.

"Deadpool. And you are?"

"Spiderman."
