Katia's P.O.V.

The day at school continued to be eerie. Besides having to discuss Spain in Spanish and History class, little things reminded me of the Country that almost destroyed me.

Walking down the hallway to leave the building with Alicia by my side, something in the corner of my eye caught my attention. Turning my head towards the wall, I see a big poster with big black bold lettering reading "Spain Trip... Come join us for a 7 day trip to the beautiful country of Spain... See Mr. Rivas for details."

Staring at the poster my eyes began to water as thoughts of there started to slowly surface. Why is this Country haunting me?

Jumping as I felt a hand grabbing my shoulder I quickly turned around. "Are you alright? I didn't mean to scare you."

Placing my shaky hand over my heart I nodded my head yes. "Yeah, I'm fine. You just scared me."

He chuckled. "I know I'm ugly but I didn't know I scared you?"

Taken back by what he said I look over to Alicia who had her mouth open like she couldn't believe what had came out of his mouth.

"Alvaro... you..." I didn't want to tell him that I think he is one of the cutest guys I know in school. 

"What she means to say is that you aren't ugly Al." Alicia jumped in like she always does to save me from embarrassment.

Smiling at me. "Thanks. So, are you planning to sign up for the trip?"

"No. I used to live there and --" looking at Alicia who frowned.

"-- I just umm, I just really don't want to go since I know all the well known places there."

"Oh okay. Must of been nice living there." Alvaro smiled again.

"It... it was in the beginning. Anyways, are you going?" asking curiously.

Looking at the poster he shrugged then looked at me. "It all depended."

"Yo Al, you coming?" hearing Alvaro being called. 

"Yeah, be right there." he tells his friend while still looking at me. "I gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'll be around."

"Okay, by Kat by Alicia." waving bye as he walked away to meet his friend down the hallway.

Watching him leave I hear Alicia say. "It is so obvious he likes you Kat." then continued walking towards the double doors that led to the student parking lot.

"Mami, I'm home!" I yelled as I opened the front door of my house .

"In the living room." shouting back.

Making my way to where she was at I noticed a package on the side table. "Who's the package for mami?"

"Para ti. (For you.)" she says while I'm already picking it up to see who it is from. I know I didn't order anything.

Checking to see who sent it, I realized that there was no return address on the box. Confused, I started ripping the brown paper to the box. Unwrapping it completely, I lifted the lid off to see a small flag... the flag from Spain to be exact.

Picking it up and examining it carefully, I jumped when I hear my mom's voice next to me. "Who's the package from?"

"Mami me asustaste! (... you scared me!)" 

"Sorry." saying while looking over my shoulder. "Is that the flag from Spain?"

"Yes." Why would someone be sending me this? Asking myself and staring to feel nervous. It couldn't be...

"Is there a note with it?" my mom asked taking the box to look through it.

"I didn't see any and there was no return address." responding back.

"Hmm. Interesting." she whispered. "Well, I made dinner early if you want to eat."

"Okay." drifting off to different thoughts.

Hearing her walk away, I continued to stare at the flag in my hand. Why do I have a bad feeling that my life is going to be complicated once again?

"I'm telling you Alicia. I'm freaking out. Who could have sent that flag besides..."

"Para (stop) Kat. You don't know if it's from him. Why now anyways?" Alicia asked and it was a good question... why now?

"I don't know. He was always unpredictable. A walking time bomb waiting to go off. He made it clear before." 

"You've told me but, it could have been Alvaro. He did ask you if you were going and he did say it depended if he was going to go or not."

"Yeah. So?"

"Maybe it depended if you were going to go or not. You know he likes you Kat, he does make it obvious every chance he gets. You just ignore the signs."

Sighing I guess she was right. It could have been from him. But why didn't he write a note?"

"I guess Alicia. I'm just Praying that it isn't him." 

"I will Pray for you mamita. Anyways, I gotta go. Mami is screaming my name to go eat dinner. Talk to you later and please try not to worry about it okay?"

"I'll try. Okay, bye." I tell her ending the call while I lay on my bed.

"Please don't let it be him. I know what he is capable of and I don't know if I will be able to survive him and them again." I say aloud as a tear rolled down my cheek. Thinking about him and what happened in Spain a few years ago made me nauseous. If he knows where I am he will make my life miserable... and will enjoy hurting me as bad as I hurt him.

Hello readers. Hope you all had a great weekend. I started this chapter a while ago and finally finished it today so I hope you liked it though it's a short one. I am trying to introduce some of the characters in the beginning before I go more into detail.

I will try to update soon... hopefully.
