[Chapter 71]
A/N i just spent a few days rereading this book. lowkey almost exploded WDYM ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE THE LAST CHAPTER im literally so sorry guys omfg.. anyways.. hopefully i don't vanish again LMAOOO also that pic is mine i saw them this year again im so happy ahhhh
It was a silent, boring life.
You would think things would get more interesting- but after the battles, everyone fell silent.
I was trapped in this boring, cold prison warehouse. Alone.
The only person I had from my life before was Kara. She was put under surgery, and had been heavily sedated since.
My father kept carrying on about the new era. A new world. That he was going to crush every other leader like a bug. Those 'BTS fellows were first for laying a hand on his precious daughter.'
I disagreed. I feel like Hyunjin had tampered with my heart more.
Well, and Minho was responsible for leaving me here.
I had wandered the place restlessly, after my father laid out the bare-bones of his plan of destruction.
My phone had broken during the fights, and I couldn't contact anyone.
I felt the need to warn them all. But why? Jungkook, Hyunjin, Lee Know... none of them were my friends.
It was all a facade to gain my trust.
Kara and Gabs were likely the same. But what could I do?
I trusted Kara. I had to. She was stuck here, in a weak position.
She had no choice but to be the one to take my father's life.
I wouldn't resent her for that. Her parents lost their lives to mine; and she forgave me.
Well, she knows I wasn't at fault; but she gave herself into my mother's words, in facade for protection.
Of course, she was gravely injured, she wasn't going to object to treatment.
I hazily remember the day. A blubbering mess of a man, and a wife sobbing to spare her child before a bullet to the head.
That same child weeped and screamed and cried. Further sounded by the bullet wedged in her thigh.
But there were alarms after I was whisked away. Said same child killed a guard my father cared about dearly- karma, no?
So she was a 'hit list victim.'
A ghost. She vanished.
And she became forgotten. Until now.
It didn't make sense. Did our mothers know one another? Why would mine adopt a child of a traitor?
"You've been sitting in thought for awhile," Kara commented, as I laughed awkwardly, poised by her bedside as she sat up, my mother rewrapping gauze around her stomach.
"Oh- I've just been thinking. Father plans to start the fights within the next few days." I said, as my mother clicked her tongue.
"He's an idiot." She said, pulling Kara's shirt back down.
"No one will listen to him, he does know that."
"Yes but he has over one hundred-" I was cut off by Kara this time.
"Foot soldiers are useless, to be fair, other than aggressive destruction, they're not specific enough."
"I agree fully. You sound just like your mother," My mother said to her, as Kara just glared up.
"That's ironic for you to say, saying you stole me from her." Kara spat.
"Ah, correction, she asked me to. Maybe I should explain it to you properly." My mother sighed, standing behind me, "I'm sure you'd like to know as well, Y/N."
"I mean I guess so-"
"Fantastic! Let's go back almost a decade..."
"You keep missing payments, I can't keep holding you up for your daughter's sake," my mother had said to kara's mum, as she shook her head.
"I know, I know, my husband is working on it with yours- come on, just one more month. I can't leave her orphaned."
"She's 12. A perfectly fine age to start training." My mother said, Kara's mother shaking her head desperately.
"I don't want that for her. You know that."
"We were close friends, your mother and I. But she was sloppy with payments and albeit useless. And business is business, you know. So I made her a simple deal," my mother interjected, as I saw Kara glare at her.
"My daughter? You'll make our debts void if we give her to you?" Kara's father said, as if he would consider it.
Her mother shook her head, "I'm sorry, Ms Park, I can't. You know how much she means to me-"
"Don't be stupid honey, we owe them so much. It'd be fine, she'd be fine." Her father hushed her mother, turning back to mine.
"What do we sign? Do we just give her to you-"
"I just need a signature here," my mother said, pushing a document forward, "either one of you is fine. I don't need both."
"Your father grabbed your mother's hand and made her sign- oh how tragic. My husband didn't agree with this notion, and they were killed anyways, and you got away from me." My mother sighed, "but that is all okay now. You're here, with me, and your rightful sister."
"..bullshit." Kara spat, as my mothers face folded into a frown, a crack in the usual doll-like smile she wore.
"Pardon your language?" She scowled.
"You're lying." Kara said again, before sighing, "whatever. I'm not arguing about this."
"No. It'd be wise not to. Y/N, hun, go see what your father is up to." My mother smiled, shooing me away.
So I got out, and wandered those sterile hallways again.
"Police are to make over fifty arrests today on suspected gang affiliates...."
"They've been threatening this every week. It's bullshit." Chan sighed, turning the TV off.
"It's a scare. They're trying to stress people into handing themselves over." Han shrugged, holding his bag of chips out for Gabs to take.
"Mm. It does seem a bit ridiculous." She hummed through chewing, as Hyunjin scrunched his nose.
"Don't talk with your mouth full. It's gross."
"Don't talk to me with that regrowth, bud." Gave scowled, as Hyunjin rolled his eyes, humming a 'whatever' and walking off.
Chan went back to his office, opening his emails to check for notices from his boss.
Empty.
He gave him a ring, only for a facetime to come up on his own computer, to which he answered.
His boss was dead against his desk, a masked figure standing behind.
"You belong to me now." The voice was warped, as Chan grimaced.
"The hell we do-"
"There is a bomb outside your front door. I'd suggest you cooperate." The man said, and on cue Jeongin came rushing into the office.
"Chan, our systems have been compromised-"
An explosion hummed through the house, as the computer shut off, and Chan covered Jeongin against the floor.
"is everyone okay?" Namjoon called out, coughing as the smoke cleared.
And a simple note, which fluttered like falling rain, caught his eye.
"It's over for you, BTS." - skz
Namjoon narrowed his eyes, ringing Bang Chan as his members surrounded themselves in the rubble of their mansion.
But no one picked up.
"That won't work, Father." I said simply, as he smirked.
"Doesn't matter. Because, my people are moving as we speak. Both their leaders have been murdered, and now I will eliminate them." My father said.
"If you don't believe me, that's fine, truly. If they don't get killed, im just going to leak everything i know to the police. That's an even worse fate than death for a mafioso." He interjected me, as I just shook my head.
"You're an idiot."
"Excuse you?"
"You heard her," and standing at the doorway of my fathers office, was Kara.
Uneven footing, a gun aimed right at him as his face lit up in anger.
"You cretin! You should be dead. My guards will kill you-" he ranted, but her head cocked to the side innocently.
"I assure you, your guards will do nothing. They're all dead, after all."
"And you? You'll be next, alongside the piece of shit you call your daughter."
