Finally, the time had come for the party to begin. All they needed was for the two werewolves to arrive. Music was playing in the background, food and drinks had been set up on the tables that Carlisle had arranged, the fairy lights looked magical, and the family were having a wonderful time. Selena, of course, had returned herself to the wall, keeping herself to herself but she did keep a close eye on a certain human. Maddie was enjoying a conversation with her half vampire friend when they heard two motorbikes approach; they looked over to see the two werewolves park their bikes as they called out their greeting. They all took turns to greet the two boys - either embracing them or shaking their hand. Looking away and towards the wall that had been turned into Selena's seat, Maddie noticed her wave her over; the teenager approached and soon found herself sitting beside the vampire as she asked, "what's up?". Looking towards the group, Selena made a comment about not knowing that werewolves were invited to the party; Maddie smirked "just Jacob and Seth, they're our friends" she explained "....and I think Jacob and Renesmee like each other" she added, earning a chuckle from both. Glancing to the side so that she could see her newfound friend, Maddie asked "Why don't you come join us?" before adding with a smile and a shoulder bump "it'll be fine". Unsure, Selena returned the gaze and quickly found herself nodding - who could say no to that precious face? And so, she followed Maddie as they jumped down from the wall and approached the group. All the Cullen's and Hale's, as well as now the Black and Clearwater, noticed how - as the party went on - the teenage human and vampire stuck together like glue; they, of course, found it adorable but remained silent on the subject. Eventually, the group found themselves sat around on the arranged chairs as they spoke to one another "so Maddie" Seth began "you've been in Forks for just over a month now, have you eye on anyone?" he asked with a smirk; the question caught everyone's attention as the human's cheeks turned a light shade of pink - Selena also found herself becoming slightly uncomfortable but also very interested to hear what was about to be said. "Em...no, I...I don't" Maddie stated, though her reaction to the question contradicted her answer as Alice decided to ask, "so who's the lucky guy?" she grinned excitedly "or girl? We don't discriminate". Taken back by the last comment, Maddie's eyes widened momentarily before she smiled to herself "I em....I'm gonna go get a drink" and with that, she hurried towards the tables; the group all groaned by her quick retreat.

The party continued, and all were having an enjoyable time; some were dancing whilst others were talking. Excitedly, Alice called out for everyone to grab a partner and begin dancing as she changed the upbeat song to a slower and gentler one. Of course, all the couples joined together and began to slow dance, as did Jacob and Renesmee which was predictable. Seth would have danced with the human, but he had 'hurt his leg' so the fifteen-year-old decided to find Selena who had disappeared a few minutes ago; she discovered her to be leant against a large tree, watching the scene before her in amusement. "Hey" Selena looked towards the greeting and realised the human was now stood by her "why are you all the way over here?" Maddie asked; the vampire shrugged as she explained she wanted to get out of the way of everyone dancing before asking a question of her own "why aren't you dancing?". Smiling, the human told her how she didn't have a partner "Seth hurt his leg" which earned a smirk from her friend "he's lying you know?" it was more of a statement; Maddie chuckled as she returned the smirk "oh, I know". The two fell silent as they watched the couples dance together and listened to the music - Alice had picked the song When a Man Loves a Woman by Michael Bolton and it was one of Maddie's favourite songs which is why she was humming along. It didn't stay like this for long, however, as the human had an idea "would....you like to dance?" she asked rather hesitantly; Selena rose a brow "you want to dance...with me?" she repeated as she was shocked, amused and....quite honoured. Nodding, Maddie began to reassure the vampire that she didn't have to and that they could just remain where they were, but was cut off by Selena pushing herself up and away from the tree, grabbed her hand and guided her towards where everyone else were dancing - she opted for the corner of what appeared to be the dance floor.

Once there, Selena placed a hand on the side of the human's waist and pulled her close as she grasped the girl's hand that didn't instinctively go to her shoulder. Beginning to sway side to side to the rhythm of the song, Selena let out a small breath that she didn't know she had been holding back "this is....nice" she stated quietly, only loud enough for the human she was holding to hear which earned her a smile "yeah...it is" she agreed; Maddie leant forward as she rested her head against the other girl's shoulder - they were the same height so it was rather easy. Either way, the act made the vampire blush with a smile as she rested the side of her own head on against Maddie's forehead. They both enjoyed the moment to themselves. The other, however, had noticed the new pair and smiled as the scene played out, silently observing the two as they continued to dance; it was a precious sight to behold....which is why they were all thankful that Alice had put the same song on repeat. Esme, however, broke away from her husband and grabbed her phone to secretly snap a few photos which she knew she could print out and frame. The night was a good one.

During the third repeat of the same slow song, however, the music came to a sudden stop as a voice replaced it "well isn't this just touching" it was a male voice that caught everyone's startled attention. Stood next to where the music player was, a man could be seen dressed in a pair of ripped jeans, a white vest top and an army green coat - all of which seemed to have seen better days; what made Selena tighten her grip on the human that was still in her arms was how they all noticed his bright blood red eyes and his long sharp fangs - he was a vampire. "Who are you?" Carlisle asked as he took a step forward, only to see the stranger smirk "I guess you could call me...an old friend" was all he would say as he scanned his eyes over each family member. That was until he finally caught sight of the young human, widening his menacing grin as he took a few steps closer to her as he waved "hello Maddie" he greeted as all eyes remained on the intruder and the fifteen year old; Maddie rose a confused brow as she stayed were she was "how do you know my name?" she asked, hiding her slight yet growing fear very well. The man seemed taken back for a moment before seeming....understanding? "Well I guess you've never actually seen me" he reasoned "but I know you, I've known you for a while now....about a month now" he stated, watching as realisation began to wash over everyone's faces before he decided to finish it off with one finally question "didn't you get any of my notes?". Now knowing who this man was, Esme yelled out to her and her husband's friend "Selena!!" but the young vampire was already speeding away with Maddie in her secure arms; the Cullen's and Hale's, as well as Jacob and Seth who quickly transformed into their wolf forms, attacked the intruding vampire who was after their human's blood. Rosalie, however, was tasked with protecting her niece and keep her safe within the house whilst the fight broke out.

With Selena, she had one thing on her mind and that was doing whatever it took to get Maddie away from the blood thirsty vampire and protect her. She and Carlisle had already had a conversation as to where she should take the human if her life-threatening stalker were to reveal themself; Selena was to travel to the place that she had first met the happily married couple over seventy years ago after turning. Maddie, however, remained silent as the vampire ran through the forest at an incredible speed, keeping her eyes tightly closed as she felt the wind hit her. It felt as if an hour had passed before they finally came to a stop....somewhere extremely dark. "Wh...where are we?" Maddie asked as she was returned to her feet "somewhere safe....for now anyway" the vampire reassured; Selena began to lead them through...the cave? "Wait up" Maddie called out quietly as she felt around to make sure she didn't bump into anything "I can't see a thing" she reminded; she suddenly felt a soft hand grab her own and she prayed it was her friend "don't worry" Selena reassured with a unseen but heard smile "I'll be your eyes". The two walked further into what the human assumed to be a cave until they reached a small door of some kind "here we are" Selena pushed and opened the stone door, allowing them to enter before closing it; she pulled out a lighter from her jean pocket and began to light candle torches that were attached to the stone walls. Soon enough, the room was lit up and Maddie could look around without bumping into unaware objects "whoa" she was speechless by the sight of a man made stone room, along with two door ways that led to more rooms; Selena smiled as she returned the matches to the draw she had pulled them from "you like?" she asked earning a nod. As her confusion over powered her amazement, Maddie deciding it was time to ask a few questions "seriously" she turned towards the vampires "what is this place?" she asked; the seventeen year old looking girl led her friend through one of the doorways which revealed a large comfy bed - they took a seat before the explanation began. "This is where Carlisle found me after I had turned, except it wasn't exactly like this" Selena stated, earning an impressed smile from the human "you made all of this?" she asked earning a nod "pretty much" the vampire grinned "it....home for when I'm here".

Remembering why they were there in the first place, Maddie became worried as she asked about her family "will they be okay?" she questioned; Selena rubbed the back of her neck "I'm not a hundred percent sure...but probably" she attempted to reassure her friend and ease her concern "considering there are nine of them and only one of him" she paused for a moment "but we don't know how strong and fast he is, or what his power is". This only worried the young human more as she sighed "shouldn't you go back and help them?" Maddie asked, "you know...to make that nine a ten?" the vampire shook her head as she explained how she needed to stay put to protect the younger teenager "in case he follows your scent". Before she could ask anything else, Maddie couldn't hold back a yawn - it was late after all "get some sleep Maddie, I'll be right here when you wake up" Selena instructed with a smile "...or in the toilet" her comment earned a laugh which was mission accomplished in the vampires eyes. Doing as suggested, Maddie lay down on the bed, glancing towards her friend one last time before closing her eyes and allowing the much-needed sleep to consume both her mind and body.
