The Big Days

The days flew quickly. Mari and Adrien had to hire people to pack their old house up for them. Between work, weddings and visits with the press about the LadyBlog vlogs, they had no time to pack. Mari had been able to give directions on what rooms stuff went in. and furniture had been built and placed where they wanted. But they would have boxes to unpack when they got home.  Alya and Nino, however, had time to move in, and their home was now move-in ready.

The couples planned on spending their wedding weekend in the same hotel. The media did not know that. Adrien and Mari were champions at sneaking around. They slipped into the hotel unnoticed, thanks to a wig and or two. Alya and Nino were not as bothered by the press and they picked the hotel where Ayla's mom worked, so she slipped in through the employee entrance and joined her friends in their joined room. Nino snuck in without the press bothering him, he simply left his signature red cap at home. Once the four were in the same room, they broke open some bubbly and celebrated the night away.  Friday morning rolled around and the girls slipped away to the spa for a day of pampering. and as the wedding was an evening the couples met for photos in the afternoon. Rolls swapped and Mari and Adrien took over videoing the couple's first look.

"Alya.... you look. Wow." Nino was dumbfounded. "I get to spend the rest of my life with you?"

"Yes you do, lover boy." Ayla posed showing off her figure in her dress. It had a tasteful v neck and a low back and a classic high low design in an ivory colour. "You clean up nice, wanna run away together?"The couple laughed and kissed. Arien and Mari put down the video cameras and finally got a good look at each other.

"I didn't think a burnt orange would work with your hair and skin down, but damn, babe you look killer in that dress." Adrien teased.

"I think your just biased my love." Mari twirled in her equally tasteful open shoulder dress with an open back knee-length brunt orange dress.

"Don't argue with me today my love, it's your best friend's wedding." he winked as she rolled her eyes at him.

The bridal party had a blast taking pictures. They didn't have anyone else in the party mostly because they had too many friends, but it was an understood fact that this group of four was inseparable by their shared friend group, their high school friends got a special spot in the venue,  where they could see everything clearly.

The weddings were taking place at a farm just a few miles from Paris. There was a cute farmhouse for the bridal party and the Nino and Alyas families to wait for the music and start. With a lovely tent that was set up for both wedding and reception. The little farmhouse also had honeymoon suite for couples who didn't want to rush away for the night. So Alya and Nino planned using that while Adrien and Mari went back to the hotel.

The ceremony had been lovely and as the supper wrapped up, Adrien and Mari stoop up to give their speech.

"Nino and Alya, when I was allowed to go to school, you welcomed me into your group that very first day, and I have been forever grateful. Adding me in whatever way you could, to your group hangouts. Working around my busy schedule, being there to listen and help me in whatever way you could." Adrien smiled raising his cup to his best friends.

"I'll never forget the day the Ayla told me she liked you, Nino, I was so happy, I never wanted to lose my best friends. As you grew as a couple, I grew more and more confident that you were soulmates. I remember the day that my best friends met, and I am glad that this little group grew into the foundational part of my life its is now. Thank you both."  Mari raised her glass everyone cheered. The four shared a smile. And for a moment it was like they were sucked back into a memory.

-Flashback-

The three friends were standing at the entrance back's to the street.

"So Mari, when is your friend getting her?"

"Nino he's not just some friend he's my oldest best friend! We've been best friends since we were babies! Adrien's been having birthday dinners at my place since before we could talk!"

"Wait a minute girl! Do you mean to tell me that your long time bestie is Adrien as in Adrien Agrest?! The model? And you never told us!" 12-year-old Alya Spock with all the sass she could muster.

"Um... Yes? His father made my dad promise to keep it a secret. But now that he can come to school it's not as big of a deal. So surprise?"

"Dude... is he as nice as everyone says? Not every kid our age has is own brand even if it is just as his old mans show pony."

Mari was about to shoot back a response when two hands covered eyes causing Mari to yelp. "Something tells me my father would love that discretion of his supper model son." Adrien bit back a laugh at the whole conversation.

"Adrien!" Mari pushed his hands off her eyes and pulled him into a hug which he quickly returned.

"Hey, Mari!  These are your friends?"

"Excuse you, rich boy, I'm Mari's best friend."  Alya teased.

"I'd let her have this one dude, Alys here always wins." Nino patted the new kid on the back. "Come on let's get you comfortable around this joint.

-End of FlashBack-

The rest of the night flew by, but it ended with Adrien and Mari saying goodbye to there friends at the door of the farmhouse. Alya and Mari sold just out of earshot of the boys as they hugged. "Mar? It's worth the wait right? I know I teased you last year before your big day but I'm kinda nervous."

"Oh yes, Ayls. It's worth it." Mari gave her friend another hug. See you tomorrow night at the hotel for the start of round two."

The boys also hugged, "Have fun, tonight man, it's worth all the teasing I had to put up with from you last year." Adrien winked.

"Ya, sorry about that dude. Now that I'm in your shoes I get it." Nino laughed awkwardly.

Adrien gave his best bro a pat on the back and a reassuring smile. The girls joined the boys and the group hugged. And Adrien and Mari headed back the hotel.

Early Sunday morning came fast the girls slipped into a salon and got their hair and nails done, and headed back that same farm. Mari slid on the over the top princess ball gown that Gabrial designed for her fairytale wedding. The public loved the story fairytale story Gabrial had spawn sand this dress played right into it. There was an actual TV crew there to podcast the wedding for all of Paris to see. So their "first look" happened on camera. Adrien and Nino waited outside the door of the farmhouse for the girls to come out.

When Mari stepped out Adrien smiled and told her she looked great, while she did, the dress wasn't her and she wasn't happy with it. And he could tell. This whole day wasn't them, sure they got to plan it, but everything was public so it felt robotic. They had planned it for show, not for love. The day happened fast, everyone commented on how calm the couple was.  No one knew they had been married for a year already. There was no need to sweat the details of today. The photos for this day had actually been a photoshoot for the wedding line Garial was releasing. So it was not as fun, but at least Alya and Nino had been there.

The only part of the day the mattered to Adrien and Mari had been Nino and Ayla's speech. "When we learned you to were soulmates, we where shocked, after all, we'd been told for a year that there was no way because you two had gotten your gifts on the same day. And yet here we are. We see how strong you to make each other, and we are so proud." Nino raised his glass.

"You two have faced so many challenges. And I know it's not over yet, but if you two are together, you will overcome it. Adrien, I know we've always joked about who is Mars best friend, but today, you have promised to take care of her forever, and you better believe that I will make sure you keep that promise." She winked and raised her glass. Both couples kissed and everyone cheered. Once again a smile was shared and they jumped back into a memory.

-Flashback-

The gang was 14 and at their first dance, Mari being the clutz that she is, had managed to trip over a cord and she not only tore her dress but also split her drink down the front of her dress. A few kids pointed and snickered. Mari mortified had locked her self in the bathroom and refused to leave.

"Mari come on, we can't party without you," Nino called.

"Mari please!" Adrien had no real useful words. And he knew it. "Alright Alya, this is one time I can't win the best friend contest. Do you're thing."

"I have an idea, ya'll willing to leave and go get ice cream in the park?" The boys nodded. Ayla went in and came out with Mari two seconds later. "Lets bonce."

Adrien had worn a suit jacket as his father's orders and he quickly gave it to Mari to hide the stain and the rip. So they slipped off to the park to find André icecream. After they got their icecream, they found a park bench and enjoyed, as they polished off their treats, Nino pulled out his phone and played some tunes, one of which he knew was Mari's favourite. Her eyes lit up and she got and danced around a little bit, Nino quickly joined her.

Alya leaned over to Adrien, "Alrght, you turn, do your best friend thing." Adrien caught on and ran over to Mari and took her hands and started dancing with her. Nino quickly pulled Alya up and the group had their own dance party.

The gang ended up walking back to Mari house and waited for their rides there. Mari slipped upstairs to change out of her dress. Nino left while she was upstairs, leaving just Adrien and Alya. "Look Adrien I know we joke a lot, but together, we saved Mari first dance. Together we make one hell of a best friend team. Partners? No matter how much we tease?"

Adrien shook her hand, "Partners."

=End of Flashback-

The day ended with a group hug of the friend group and plans to meet at the airport the next morning.

Everyone agreed this group's future looked bright.
