Summer Love

Note: I'm not gonna write several chapters on their summer together, I'm just gonna write a few short stories of there summer together.

------------------------------------------------A wake-up call for Adrien-----------------------------------------------

He sat across from his Father. "How are things with Marinette? Has she fallen for you yet?"

"Father I don't want to rush her. And I don't know if I need your tricks with her. She is my best friend. We are an amazing team. I think we'd be happy even if she never loves me." Adrien smiled at the thought.

"Son, your showing weakness. A great businessman never shows weakness. You need to make sure she knows she's yours." Gabrial looked at his son sharply.

"Father, she already knows she never leaving, and with her, I don't have to be your picture-perfect son, I can be myself." He looked up at him hopefully.

"Son, if I knew your soulmate would make you weak, I might have told you to stay away. Running this company takes an iron fist. The fashion world moves fast. People will try to sell you on trends and things they know will fail. You have to be sharp with them. Or you will fail."

"Father she makes me stronger! With her, I can read people better and I know how to help them! Make them better and I love it!" He stood now.

"Son! Your not here to help people! You're here to give what they want at the highest price they will pay! That's why I raised you to be like me! A sharp shewed businessman!" His father shouted then took a deep breath. "I'll see you for our meeting next week. Don't forget to tell her about the interview."

Adrien left the office fuming. His father had never cared what he wanted...

Wait.

Just like he had done with Mari. He had taken her life and made it what he wanted. Oh no. He was becoming just like his father... Not anymore, his father could see the change that was happening when he was around Mari and he didn't care if his father didn't like the change he did. And the first thing he needed to do was get rid of Chat.

-----------------------------------------------------Chats Final Visit------------------------------------------------------

Marinette's eyes opened her eyes, slightly groggy, where had she been? Oh ya, she'd been at home, her and Adrien had had a fight over an interview his father wanted them to do, she wanted to keep her relationship on the down-low, not letting the world know everything that had happened between them. Adrien said it was the cost of being in the public eye and she reminded him again that he chose this life for her. She never asked for it. He left in a huff of anger and she had fallen on the couch in tears. She must have fallen asleep, how else would you wind up in a chair at Chats hideout.

"Hello, Princess." Chat's voice came from behind, he placed the chocker back on her neck.

"What no ropes this time?" She asked realizing she could move freely.

"No point really you, I can stop you and do whatever I want to you can't?" he said sitting far away from her now.

"Okay Chat, what's your game? You are far too chill." She stood from the chair.

"I've been doing some thinking Princess." He sided. Adrien figured that as Chat he could have this debate with Mari better than he could as Adrien. And he might get to get back at her for the fight they just had. "I'm wondering if this is all worth it."

"What messing with my mind to have me? It's not," she said flatly. she then reached for Adrien's necklace. She breathed a sigh of relief when she found it was still there.

"So have you fallen for your soulmate now?" He smirked at her.

"No, but I've chosen him. I am going to fall in love with him. And help him see that his gift has more potential then what his father taught him to use it for." she reached up and took Chat's necklace off.

"I met my soulmate, the other day. She's great. Nothing like you but great. So I'll cut you deal princess. I'll leave you alone for the rest of the summer and if by the end of summer if you are truly committed to him, I'll leave you alone." He leaned back.

"Forever?" she spoke softy

"Forever, if you can prove to me you love him," he said firmly. "One other thing. Chat is telling the world today he is done, I'm gonna my regular model self from now on. Make all my accounts private. remove a bunch of followers. So you'll still be able to message me if you need. Or I might ask you for updates."

"Okay, Chat. You know, I wish you'd never done this, we could have been good friends, instead of whatever this is." She sided, dropping the bell on the ground. "Can I please go back to Adrien now? He and I need to talk." He took her home.

They did the interview, on the condition that they don't do another one unless rumours started to spiral.

--------------------------------------------------------Boat Trip------------------------------------------------------------

Earlier before grad Adrien and his father had planned some fun weekends away for Adrien and Mari and they happened to have one coming up, and they convinced Adrien's father to let Nino and Ayla come. "It's for the best, makes it more believable that you are actually staying in separate rooms." He smiled at the two teens.

They were spending five days on the Agrest houseboat near a harbour town. The gang took the train to the little harbour town. "I can believe we get to do this!" Ayla smiled and clung to Nino's arm.

"I just don't want to get seasick," Nino whined leaning into Ayla.

"Dude we are only going to leave the dock once and that's in the middle of the afternoon. Otherwise, we will be tied to dock the entire trip." Adrien teased.

'Adrien be nice to Nino!" Mari hit him on the shoulder.

"Ouch! Hey, I was just teasing," he leaned over and kissed her cheek. "So sightseeing or the boat first?"

"Oh, model boy, so use to having everyone do stuff for you, we have to go to the boat first and unpack." Alya teased.

Adrien blushed. Mari leaned over and kissed his cheek, "It's okay darling, we show you how to do this on your own."

"I'm not alone, I have my assistant with me," he said with a wink.

"Who's on holiday and is now just your girlfriend." Ayla teased as the train came to a stop.

They gathered their stuff and headed to the dock. Once they got everything settled they left walking hand and hand down the docks. "Adrien, it's beautiful here, it's so peaceful."

"Especially with the sun setting." He let go off her hand and put his arm over her shoulder and pulled her closer. "You're even more beautiful than this view though." He whispered in her ear.

"Hey, Love birds!" Ayla called out, "Mind if Nino and I stop and grab coffee? You to could find a little convenient store and buy stuff for smores? We'll bring you back to hot chocolates."

"Of course! Gotta let each set of love birds have some time alone." Adrien called over his shoulder.

They walked around till they found a small park, "Adrien, I think there's a store on the other side of the park." Mari pointed.

"Cool, race you there?" Adrien winked.

"Winner picks a prize?" Mari shot back and took off running, Adrien followed laughing. Not caring who saw or took a picture. He being more athletic, caught up and beat her.

He opened the door, "After you, my lady," he said with a wink. She paused for a moment, the way he said it... it was so familiar, she shook her head. She was just being silly. They wandered around the little shop and found stuff for smores.

As they left the shop, "So Mr. Champion whats your prize?" she looped her arm in his.

"What about a kiss" he teased. then she stopped in the center of the park. "Mare I was kidding."

"Well, I mean, we have to kiss at some point. Somebody is going to ask, and if I want to fall in love with you..." She said it so confidently like she'd been thinking about.

Adrien was taken back. He didn't think she'd be ready so soon. Was he ready to kiss the girl of his dreams? "Mare I don't want to make you kiss me. I mean I want to kiss you but I want it to be when you are ready. I just want to..."

"Adrien, shut up and kiss me." She put a figure to his lip.

He moved her hand away, "Oh so your giving orders now?" he laughed. She rolled her eyes and stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. They both felt like there where floating. It was like sparks where flying. "Woah is that how it's supposed to feel?"

"I guess so, That didn't feel like any kiss I ever had with Luka. Kissing your soulmate feels different than somebody." Marinette looked at him. "Not bad for your first kiss eh?"

Right she didn't know, "That was amazing." He took her hand, "We'd better get back to the boat and get the propane firepit going."

After two days of lounging on the beach and visiting the town, they took the houseboat out on the water. The kids changed into their swimsuits and jumped off the boat and swam around. After they got tired of swimming, they went up to the top deck of the boat and looked out at the water.

"Did you bring it?" Mari looked up at Adrien.

"Oh ya, are you ready?" Adrien handed her the necklace box.

"I am. I want to let it al go."

"Wait, you throwing your necklace in the lake?" Nino was shocked.

"Girl are you sure? You can't get it back?" Alya took her hand.

"Ya, I am. I have Adrien now, and Luka has Kate. They're getting married, and I love Adrien." well she was falling in love with but Ayla and Nino didn't need to know that. She took the necklace out of the box and tossed the necklace as far she could.

"I love you, Mare," Adrien wrapped his arms around her.

"I love you too Adrien." she relaxed into his arms.

Nino and Ayla watch there best friends. "Nino?" Alya whispered. "When did they fall in love?"

"I don't know Alys, Adrien has always loved her. He just never thought he could have her." Nino held her the same way Adrien held Mari.

"Do you think she loves him?" She asked softly.

"She's your best friend, you tell me." Nino laughed.

"I think she wants to... But she's not there yet." Ayla sighed.

--------------------------------------------------------Photo Shoot--------------------------------------------------------

"Adrien! We have a problem!" Marinette called from the other side of the tent Adrien was changing in.

"Marinette, isn't your job to handle my problems?" he teased.

"I don't know how to handle this one!" She gasped. He could hear panicking.

'Well don't keep me in suspense Mare." He came out from the tent to see here her frantically tapping on her tablet.

"Lia cancelled for the next shoot. So I called Chole to see if she could model with you but she's on business for daddy." Mari rolled her eyes. "I don't know who else to call! This is the biggest shot your Fathers has had me work on and I'm wrecking on it!" She leaned into him.

"Hey look at me." She looked up and he kissed her, "I will call dad and explain everything." she smiled up at him and nodded.

He got off the phone with his father. "We have no choice, you have to model with me."

"But Adrien, I don't know." she stammered.

"I can't ask you, Mare, I'm telling you. There is no other option. besides your the girl who has to what she's told. You'll do fine." he winked and walked towards the car.

She wanted to argue, but what was the point. He was right. She was the only choice they had. Adrien had not taken a driver with his independence so he drove them to the next shoot location. "You know I like being the one designing and being behind the camera." She looked out the window.

"I know, but it's the only option Father gave me." he sighed. "Look someday we own the company together, and we can make it different." He took her hand.

"Hey to hands on the wheel man!" she teased. "I know, and then you won't have to be the man your father wants you to be. You'll be able to be the man you want to be. The man who uses your gift for good not using people." SHe said with a sigh.

Adrien didn't say anything, was she right? Did he want to be some else? Sure getting what you want is great. But at the cost of others? Was it worth it? "Maybe your right Mare."

---------------------------------------------------------Dinner--------------------------------------------------------------

Tom and Sabine looked forward to their weekly visits with Marinette and Adrien. They loved seeing the boy soften and loved watching their daughter fall in love.

"We say that you two did some modelling together? How long ago were those photos taken?" Sabine asked as she passed food around.

"Two weeks ago?" Adrien said looking at Mariette for confirmation she nodded. "They are a sneak peek at Father's new fall collection."

"Oh, I suppose Fall is only a few weeks away," Tom said smiling.

"Ya Dad, Adrien and I have tests to start prepping for. We are taking an advance placement test to see if we can skip a few classes. Given our work in the fields, we want to work in." Marinette smiled at Adrien.

"Speaking of work, how is the wedding dress and suit going?" Sabine looked over at her daughter sadly. "I imagine it's not the easiest project."

"Actually Mom, it's been really therapeutic. And after all, I have Adrien and a future I am happy about." She took Adrien's hand under the table. The summer had been good for the two of them. She had let go of Luka and let herself fall for Adrien, she found that he was no longer nearly as controlling as he was at the start of the summer. He even started asking her about her thoughts on plans.

After supper, Mari went to help her mother in the kitchen, and Adrien and Tom went to set up video games.

"Marinette, dear are you really happy with him? Tell me the truth." Sabine looked down at the soapy water.

"At the start of the summer Mom I would have told you no, but Mom, Adrien is different now. He's sweet, kind and caring. He has been learning to use his gift to help people, rather than using people." She looked over to the living room dreaming.

"I'm glad sweetheart. I've seen him change too. I think that dream you two have is great." She smiled.

Adrien and Tom played a few warm-up rounds seeing as their women always seemed to beat them. "Adrien, I'm proud of the growth I've seen in you."

"Sir... I... um." Adrien didn't know what to do.

"I betting your own Father never says that. And well I'd like to ask you something." Tom placed his large hand on Adrien's shoulder.

"What it is sir?" He wondered what he could want.

"Can I call you son? And can you please call me Tom." Adrien sat dumbstruck.

"You... you want... you want to call me son? And treat me like one for your own?" Adrien couldn't take it, his heart felt so full, he knew Tom calling him son was different than the way his Father meant it. He couldn't stop them, tears flowed.

"I do, and I always have." Tom teared up too and pulled the boy into a hug.

Marinette and Sabine had caught the last bit of the conversation, they too cried. They joined the men in the hug.

-------------------------------------------------------I made it for you---------------------------------------------------

Mari stood there spinning a new dress she had made. "Do you like it?"

"Mare it's beautiful." smiled at her twirling.

"Good, I made it for you!" She giggled.

"Darling I don't think I'd look as good as you do in it." he laughed.

"Silly you know that not what I mean." she walked over to him pinning him against the couch he was leaning on. "I have something to tell you."

"Why do I feel like I should I be scared." he teased.

"I love you, Adrien, with my all my heart." She linked her arms around his neck.

"Mare there's no one around. You don't need to put on an act." He looked down and unhooked her arms from his neck.

"Adrien, I'm not acting." she placed her hands on her hips, "Clearly you don't believe me," she smirked and pushed him on to the couch. He was too shocked to react. She then straddled him. She leaned down and kissed his neck, making a point to leave a mark. She whispered in his ear, "It's a good thing we have don't have any photoshoots this week."

Adrien touched the marked skin. "You love me?"

"You've won my heart, Adrien. " She let her self fall on to his chest.

Adrien held her close. Then he smirked and flipped them over. Now he had her pinned to the couch. "Now you left a mark on me, my love. What will the photographers say?"

"Don't worry we don't have any shoots this week." She tried to squirm away.

"Oh no, you don't! Your staying put," he said laughing. "I think it's only fair that we match." As she now laid still, he went and kissed her neck making sure to leave his mark. "Perfect." he laughed and then with a smile he challenged her, "Now that that's done, let's have little fight shall we." he laughed as he started to tickle her. She retaliated. Eventually, the two fell off the couch. They landed on the floor laughing.

"Marinette, I love you too." he could hardly believe that he was so lucky to have her. As she leaned into him, he looked out the window, to see the sun setting earlier now. Fall was coming, after Luka and Kate's wedding they'd start classes and in a few years, they would change what the Agrest name stood for. He knew that together they would be unstoppable.
