Epilogue
Marinette sat hunched over a design. Ayla and Nino were expecting their second baby. And she was working on a coordinating set of outfits for the two families for an upcoming photo shoot. She placed her hand on her subtly growing belly. Twins, she was having twins. Emma was so excited but she was only three and was going rather impatient waiting for the baby, Alya had teased her, after all, twins ran in her family, not Mari's. While Adrien and Mari were scared, they were excited. The doctors couldn't say for certain, because they couldn't get a clear picture, but they thought they were having boys. Adrien and Mari had agreed on Hugo and Louis.
Emma stirred, Mari looked at the clock, it was almost time for her to wake up. The benefit of having her own office in her own business was that she could have a playpen there so Emma could stay with her rather than a nanny when Adrien was at a shoot or a meeting for A&G industries. Mari picked up her sleeping daughter and walked over to the chase and sat cuddling her daughter. She played with her soft blond curls. She was so in zoned that she didn't hear her husband walk in.
Adrian noticed that she missed him come in, so he quietly sat down next to her. And wrapped his arm around her, and whispered, "Don't jump." Mari gasped.
"Daddy!" Emma wakes up to her mother's gasp and quickly crawled into his lap. Tiki had given her the gift of rhythm, she figured as a daughter of a designer and a model and seeing how clumsy her mother was, she figure the girl could use some help. Adrien and Mari loved it, because Emma's gift could be used for dancing, music, writing, modelling, whatever little Emma wanted.
"Hey baby girl! You and mom ready to go? We have to get ready for the opening tonight!" Adrien was so excited.
"Are Unc-le Ne-no and Aun-tie Al-ya gonna be there?" Emma was still figuring out this whole speaking thing.
"Of course and little Sammy." Adrien chuckled at her attempt.
Emma stuck out her tongue, "He's a baby... he's no fun."
"Now, now, sweety, he's only a year younger then you. Give him time to catch up." Mari teased.
"What about... Unc-le Fel-ix and Aun-tie Brid-gy?" Emma could not say Bridget so they had settled on Bridgy for now.
"Yep and we got 40 minutes until the dinner reservation, so ready to walk home?" Emma quickly got up and found her shoes. Mari laughed helped her put them on.
One dinner full of friendship and laughter later, the group stood at the doors for Adrien's childhood home. In had now become the Local Fashion Figure Hall Of Fame. A museum to honour their family and hopefully others from here made waves in the fashion world. Between Felix, Adrien and Natalie they had enough to show how their family helped shape the fashion world. Even if it did just on day become a local attraction. For now, the funds it generated would continue to go towards the A&G Scholarship program that Felix and Adrien were keen on starting with the money that had left for Adrien.
After seeing the young talents that jumped at the chance to work with Marinette and Adrien in their non-proift mentorship program they ran with Nino and Ayla. Taking the fields that they where known for and helping teens create a next work they had. They could create there own small brands, selling their products in the the store and Mari's online store. They could use Alya's lady blog as a starting point to write about other brands. Nino helped them learn to mix music or take good videos. Adrien knew he wanted to do more, not everyone had the chances that he had.
The grand opening didn't start for another 30 minutes but the group was walking though the house and they stopped that statue of Adrien's father at the top of the stairs, "Grandpa!" Emma wiggled out of her mom's arms and waddled up the stairs. "Daddy, look I can pose just like Grandpa." Emma copied the pose hands beind her back standing straight and tall. Adrein ran up to her and picked her up tickling her as he did. The house was full of laughter.
Marinette nodded to Felix, and he took his 'niece' out of Adiren's arms and showed the group around the redone house. Mari stood taking her husband's arm. "Penny for your thoughts my love?"
"How'd ya know I was thinking?" Adrien smiled.
"You're not the only one who can read people you know." She hipped checked him.
"He's been gone for almost two years, Mare."
"I know love."
Adrien's Father never could understand why Adrien did what he did, but when he met his granddaughter, he softened. He'd even lived one year longer, and as long as they didn't discuss business, Adrien and his father had a good relationship. He died in his sleep, in little pain the doctors figured. "Does his last converstion still replay in your mind?" Adrien asked not looking away from the statue.
"At least once a day."
"You two are here again?" Gabrial almost smiled when they came in, "Did you bring Little one today?"
"Father we bring her every time we come." Adiren laughed.
"Do you have the strength to hold her today?"
"I'd like to try." Natalie moved to help him sit up.
Today he had the strength. "Oh, she grows more and more beautiful everyday." He sighed. "I free I don't have much time left. We've had a few to many scares these days. So let me tell you what I should have told you years ago." He gestued for Adrien to come closer. He took his hand, "Son, you have amazed me. I wish I could," he coughed, "I could have been better for you. Tom has gained a son that I took for granted, continue to make him proud, son. Help your wife live her dream. It's what I would have done if your mother had lived."
"Father... I... Thank you." Adiren stood and let Mari take his place.
"Miss Marientte, I saw your potential even as a young girl... but I was to closed off to help you devople your skill. I should have encouraged your help to my son, rather then try to destroy it. I should have let you my daughter. So I'm sorry that I never let you have that. I only hope for whatever time I have left I can think of you of a daughter."
"You always could father." Mari kissed his hand.
"He did love us in his own strange way. Didn't he?" Mari kissed Adrien's cheek.
"Well, I'm not gonna make the same mistake, I'm gonna be in my kids lives. And make sure you can too." He placed his hand on her belly.
"I'm glad I love you." Marinette held his hand over her belly. "It has given me a fuller life than I ever dreamed off."
"I am glad I love you too. I thought you brought light into my life, but you gave me Emma and soon two sons. My life is gonna be so full of light I'll have a whole new reason to be Paris's golden boy."
The couple shared one more kiss as their daughter came running back to them, wrapper her arms around their legs. Yep their life was full of sunshine and freedom and they weren't about to waste it.
And Ta Da! My Frist long story and my second miraculous themed one. I have two ideas for the next story rolling around in my head. So if you enjoy my story telling style keep an eye out. Also my editing program was not playing nice today so sorry for that. I might go though and edit this story at some point but I also might not.
Actually, for those who read this, is one of these ideas more interesting.
1) A different solemate AU, except its a play on expected ships. Mari and Nino are in love and Alya and Adrien are in love, but Adrien and Mari are soulmates and Nino and Alya are soulmates and in this world, you have to marry your soulmate. What will they do?
2) Mari has been offered a full paid internship (room and board, living allowance, a driver everything she could need to make her live easier.) by the one and only Gabriel Agrest . However there is a catch. She has to date his son Adrien Agrest. And Adrien can never know that she has being paid to be with him. She never thought a father would have so little trust in his sons ability to chose a partner that he would literally pay someone to do it.
