All Settled

Grad had been two weeks ago, and everyone was enjoying the summer heat. Marinette had spent a week learning how to be Adrien's assistant from Nathalie and under Gabriel's watchful eye. He had been pleased with how fast she picked it up. Then again, as a girl who was forced to do what she was told, he shouldn't have been surprised.

When he had met with the Dupain-Chengs, they had all agreed the kids should not move in until Marinette was fully trained. Gabriel wanted to send Marinette a few practice days, to make sure the system Marinette and Nathalie had figured out would work. So before Marinette and Adrien fully moved into the house they took a four day weekend with a few low-priority events planned should anything go wrong.

Both kids packed bags for the weekend, "So Mari, what should we do first?" Adrien asked flopping on the couch after they both unpacked their bags.

Mari stood at the end of the other couch, "Well I usually spend my Thursday nights working on future designs. But I guess my habits and patterns will all change now that I work for you."

"Wow, who says? It's the summer, where young and falling in love, remember?" he said with a wink. "I don't want to turn your life completely upside down. So why don't we spend then next hour detail what we want our week to look like, cuz unlike my father, I would like to give my live-in assistant, who happens to be the girl I love, time off. Then I know just where to go."

She opened her mouth to argue that she wasn't the love of his life, but then again she didn't know if he was pretending or not. "Well, that's actually a really smart idea, but it will have to be for the summer, come fall we will have to change it up for our evening classes."

"Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you, Father changed plans on us, after seeing how close the four of us are, he called the school and changed our schedules so we have a few days where we will be at school with Ayla and Nino, and a few days where we will be in the office and taking a few evening classes. He also wants us to challenge a few classes, to see if we can graduate faster."

Marinette was so happy she ran from her spot and hugged him, "Adrien! That's wonderful! I love it!"

Adrien breathed in her sent and held her tightly, he didn't know what had made his father change his mind but he was glad too. After a brief moment, he relaxed his hold on her and hoped she would stay close to him while they talked about schedules. To his sadness not only did she move but she got up and left the couch. He slummed in his seat, "Hey, can I have my spot back?" she said with a giggle, she was holding her tablet, that Nathalie had given her. "I figured I could make a copy of the schedule on a spreadsheet, and we can have it not the fridge here and then we both know when I'm on and an when I'm off."

He was shocked, she wanted to cuddle? He wasn't going to complain. Over the next our they planned out what they wanted an average week would look like. It landed on Marinette having three guaranteed nights/afternoons off a week, with a fourth night every other week. She was also going to keep a time card to make sure she wasn't overworking.

"Two questions?" her voice was small like she was afraid. He nodded, "One, do date nights count as work? I mean we are pretending, and two what night are we meeting up with my parents?"

"Sundays, photoshoots rarely happen on Sundays and if they do they're usually afternoons, so we rarely would have to reschedule. Let's say if it's a work event and you're my date it counts as work night and if we are just going out for fun then no." He tried to hide his frustration with the fact she still didn't love him. It's only been three months since she left him, they were together for two years.

She hit print and hung up the schedule on the fridge. "There! Now we can always be on the same page." She laughed at her own pun, "Well it's only 7:30 what was your thought? I'd like to be back before nine though, my day starts earlier than yours, Mr. Needs his Beauty Sleep Modle."

He laughed, "Go get your sketchbook, I'll get the rest." As she ran upstairs, he when and got a picnic blanket and his wallet. He took her arm and guided her to his car. "Madame" he opened the car door and helped her.

"Adrien, where are we going?" she laughed at his silly antics.

"You'll see." He drove to a park with a bond, the days were long in the summer so the sun was starting it's slow descent, giving a very awe-inspiring sight. He grabbed the blanket and ran around to open Mari's door. He again took her arm like the gentleman Adrien was, went to what he deemed was the perfect spot and laid out the blanket, "Sit here and sketch, and I'll grab us some ice cream."

"Oh!" She said as she sat, "Bowl of Chocolate?"

"Anything for you my lovely." he smiled and wandered off to find the ice cream cart. On his way back from the cart, he saw her so beautiful, so in her element, he set the ice cream on a nearby bench and snapped a photo of her. Maybe he could have Nathanle recreate a drawing of that photo as a gift at some point.

After he gave her, her icecream, he laid down next to her. She would randomly stroke his hair, and he enjoyed being with her. Once the sunset they went back to the house and went to their separate rooms.

The weekend when so smoothly, everyone agreed that they should move in. So with the third week of summer just starting, they moved into their new house and live. Adrien still wanted to teach Mari about that stupid necklace, and she had forgotten about Chat, she hardly mentioned anymore and clearly she needed a reminder. After all, Chat is what made Adrien look like a hero. So after the week of moving in was done, he came up with a plan, and he needed Nina and Alya to play along.

After he did some prep work Friday morning, just after lunch, he called up Nino, "Hey dude, I need your help."

"Ya man what's up?"

"I'm today off and I'm giving Mari the afternoon off, so I can slip and by her a special gift, so I'm gonna cover and say I'm with you. But I need you to take Ayla out so that way Mari is here when I get back with her surprise." He smiled knowing Nino would do it.

"Oh ya for sure dude!"

"Perfect! Thanks, man!" Adrien hung up the phone. "Hey, Mari can you come down here please?"

Mari came downstairs, "Yes Adrien do you need something? I finished up going thought the photos from yesterday's shoot and sent them off to Nathalie to show to your father. And Have finished your week at a glace for next week, and have called everyone for your shoot tomorrow."

"Oh, no I wasn't worried, I figured you had that all handled. I was just gonna tell you, you have the afternoon off, I'm going out with Nino and I don't need you to tag along."

"Oh great! There's a rom-com I've been wanting to see, and I don't think it's your thing." She giggled.

"Perfect!" I'll see you tonight, Mind whipping something up for supper?"

"Sure" she called after him.

She opened the fridge and found a bottle of her favourite juice blend, with a sticky note, For my girls afternoon off ;) "Silly boy." she smiled and head over to the tv, and started the movie enjoying her drink while it played. Slowly she found her self drifting off to dreamland.

When her eyes opened, she found herself back in Chat's hideout. She realized she was strapped to that stupid table again. She wasn't blindfolded this time or gagged, so that was something. "Chat, I know you're here. Show your self," she said flatly.

"Oh did my little princess miss her kitty?" Chat sat next to her on the table.

"You wish Cat." She said sharply. "I thought you'd leave me alone after Adrien claimed me as his."

"Oh princess, has he though?" he leaned in closer.

"What do you mean?" She wished she could lean away.

"You still where another boy collar." He tapped the necklace around her neck, her arm jerked, out of habit to grab it, but it was tied down. "Tisk, Tisk, a boy you're still awfully attached to. Maybe we should change that." He pulled it off her neck with a snap. "Opps."

"Chat! Please!" She felt her heart drop.

"Why should I? You don't belong to him anymore. He moved on, found a new girl to love. He left you, never even fought for you." He snapped the chain in half again.

"I told him to! I told him to leave me, to find his soulmate! I begged him to!" tears welled up in her eyes.

"Oh so you set him free, wouldn't let your true love save you from the big famous model?" he pulled the guitar pick off the chain.

"Chat! Stop Please! You don't understand, Adrien is my best friend! I may not love him, but I care about him and I figured willingly going with him was better than spending my life doing everything against my will at least this way I have changed at falling in life with him!" She shouted as tears fell down her face.

"Well if you are so willing to give him a chance at love, then you don't need this." He snapped the guitar pick in half. He walked over to the small sink he had in the room and dropped in down the drain.

What Mari didn't know is that wasn't her year necklace, Adrien could be that cruel, but he wanted Mari to fall in love with him. So he had a fake one made to prove a point.

"Now princess seeing as your heart is clearly still up for grabs, I have a gift for you and a new game for us to play. So stop crying." she stopped her body frozen in fear.

He went up by her head, "But first we need to fix your look for this game." He took her hair out of pig tales and placed it into two buns on the side of her head. "Perfect." He then walked over to the desk and pulled out a box. He walked back over and straddled her, he opened the box and it revealed a black chocked with a white bell on it.

"I figured I'd give you my collar, and make you my pet for the afternoon." he smiled smugly at her while he put it on her. "Look we match." he hits the bell on his choker. He then let her stand up and held the lease in his hand.

"What are ya gonna make me do, walk-on all fours?" she asked shortly.

"I mean I could but I think I'd rather make you do some tricks and I'll reward you for each one." He tapped his chin, "What should we have you do first... Oh, I know! You have on far too many layers my lady, that boy of yours sure has you dressed all professional-like. Ditch the cardigan."

She did, "Good little pet, open your mouth." he dropped in a sour gummy in her mouth and laughed as she reacted, Adrien knew she hated sour candies, "What's wrong pet, don't like sour candy? To bad its all I have."

He looked at her again. She had on a skirt and leggings, a tee-shirt with a tank top underneath. He would do anything dirty to her he was too innocent for that, sure, he'd kissed and made out with a few girls as Chat, but Mari would get treated like the princess she was, he would not make her sleep with him, and only Adrien got to kiss Mari. But scaring her could be fun.

"Ditch the skirt." she did another candy, another reaction.

"Ditch the shirt." she did another candy, another reaction.

"You look so lovely, princess, why don't you show off your figure more often?" He said as he came around behind her and put his arms around her waist. He pulled her close and licked her cheek, her ear, her neck until she squirmed away from his grasp.

"CHAT! That's gross stop!" she backed away and hit the wall. Oh, that was a mistake.

"But princess, that is how cats show there love!" He pinned her to the wall. "In fact..." he knelt down rolling her tank top up to see her stomach, "I'll give your tummy cat kisses until you agree to give me cat kisses in return, then you can get dressed and I'll take you home."

He went to work, feeling her squirm, laughing she finally caved, "Alright! Fine just one on your cheek."

"Good enough for me." he stopped. He smiled as she licked his cheek.

He watched her get dressed, took off her choker and placed in on the desk, then picked her up, "Naptime princess." She fell asleep in his arms.

Next time Mari woke up she saw her movie had been paused and that she never made it through the opening credits, how had Chat gotten into her house anyway? She went to fidget with her necklace and remembered what Chat had done to it. She cried, then with tears in her eyes looked at the clock and saw that it was 430, she had better make supper.

45 minutes later, Adrien's supper was on the coffee table with the cover keeping it warm. She cried some more. A few moments later Adrien walked in. "Hey!... what's wrong." He sat on the couch next to her. And pulled her into a hug.

In tears, she told Adrien how Chat had destroyed her necklace. She fell into him crying more.

"Hey, shhh, look at me, I found something on the porch." he pulled the original necklace out of his pocket, "He must have used his gift to trick you." Maris's eyes lit up as she took it from his hands. "Wait, Marinette, before you put it on, I got you this." He handed a small gold box.

Marinette took the box from him and opened it, her eyes widened inside was a silver necklace with a silver pendant that was M&A with a sewing needle crossing the though both letters. "Adrien it's beautiful."

"I noticed that you wear more silver than gold so I made you this, to either replace Luka's or at least be alternated with. Marinette and Adrien taking the fashion world by storm, and well you love to sew." He rubbed the back of his neck.

Marinette looked at the two necklaces, each one representing something. She took Adrien's out of the box. "Help me put it one?" she said with a small smile. She turned around so he could put it on her, then she placed Lukas necklace in the box. "Adrien, take this and keep it from me for a month. Then I'll decide what to do with it."

Adrien was shocked, he didn't think she'd go along with it so easily. "Of course. Oh, by the way, I stopped by your parent's place, a letter was dropped off there. So here you go."

Mari opened the letter, she was dumbfounded. "Adrien, it's not a letter, it's an invitation."

"An invitation to what?"

"Luka and Kates Wedding. They want me to design their wedding outfits..."
