"GO AHEAD."

Adjusting his glasses, the teacher turns around before continuing to drag the chalk across the board. At the back, a lass with unruly hair gives a small bow before heading out the door.

She breathes a sigh of relief when the door closes, a triumphant sneer appearing on her face as she inwardly gives herself a pat on the back. It seems she did not have to worry after all. Either thanks to her classmates' ignorance or her swift hands, she was able to slip her bag out of class undetected. And now, she has a free pass to do what she pleased.

Thank goodness for the long skirt. Slipping her bag out from under, [name] slings it over her shoulder as she strides through the hall. Even though she had  fifth period had just started, she was already dozing off after a minute.

Patting her belly, [name] lets out a sigh. Being stuck in class with a boring lesson and an empty stomach is not ideal.

The girl halts for a moment. But if I keep on doing this, pa would be disappointed...

. . .

[name] snickered. Yeah, right. If anything, her old man would be proud- who wouldn't be if your child knew this semester's lessons like the back of her hand? Besides, there's nothing wrong for a girl to wanna eat when she's hungry!

When [name] started to descend the stairs, her ears picked up the sound of a nearby door opening. Peeking over to the floor below, a student enters her sight, seemingly on their way to the bathroom.

[name] crouched down, paying close attention to the sound of footsteps that slowly becomes out of range. As soon as the coast was clear, she hurried down the steps with light feet, skipping the last few before speed-walking to her destination, ducking whenever she passes doors.

Within a few minutes, at last, [name] stood in front of the cafeteria, her stomach grumbling as it yearned for a meal. She could not blame it, she slept through lunch break after all.

With a deep breath, the lass entered. The room was expectedly empty, save for the cafeteria ladies. A grin appeared on [name]'s face as she made her way to one, pulling out her wallet in the process. Her eyes were set on a certain bag of chips, sparkling like treasure.

"I'll take one of those, please."

The lady looks up from her phone. Her tired hazel eyes that peered behind her bangs widened slightly, only now aware of [name]'s presence. The lady sends a smile, "Was wondering where you were, slept again?"

[name] raised a brow, "What, missed me?"

The lady chuckles, "Of course, extra change is always welcome." She states as she hands over the bag of chips.

The moment [name] zipped open her wallet, her face paled. She awkwardly looks up at the lady, dryly laughing, "I changed my mind, I'll just take an apple juice and..." she looks back down at her wallet and back at the lady, "...that's it."

The lady took back the chips and fetched the juice without a word. As she did, [name] could not help but glance at the green-haired lady in front of her.

Hagakure Chizuru, no older than 19 and was one of the few acquaintances [name] had made ever since she started attending Salt Lake High. They got to know each other when the [hair/color] haired lass stumbled upon Chizuru when she was on break. Though, the lady only occasionally drops by for extra cash.

"Shouldn't you be in class right now?" [name] suddenly asked.

Chizuru shrugged. "Cancelled. Assignment can wait until I get my pay for today." She squints at [name]. "Shouldn't you be in class right now?"

[name] shrugged back. "Probably."

Chizuru sets down the juice on the counter as [name] hands over her payment. Looking at the juice, she could not help but sympathize. She watches as the young lass grabs the drink and gives her thanks, soon walking off.

A bead of sweat appeared on Chizuru's forehead before she clicked her tongue.

"Hey!"

[name] turned her head back, just managing to catch the object tossed to her. Opening her hand, she finds a chocolate bar. She looks back at Chizuru with a grin on her face.

"Thank you!"

Chizuru props her chin on her palm as she leans on the counter, waving as she watches [name] go out the door.

She sighs.

They're definitely going to take this out of my pay.

---

Letting out a sigh, [name] plops down on the bench and sets her bag down.

She had close encounters with other students in the hallway when she left the cafeteria, barely even avoiding them. But in the end, she was able to keep from being discovered and had gotten to the courtyard safe and sound.

She leans back on the bench railing, lifting her legs to occupy the remaining space. Turning to her bag, she opens it and brings out her "lunch" made up of apple juice and a chocolate bar. It wasn't much, but it was enough. [name] pokes the straw through the juice box, taking a sip as she ripped open her snack.

The scene was quiet, aside from the faint sound of lectures from the classrooms. As she took a bite of the bar, she had a dejected look. Maybe it's time I should get a part-time job... she sighs, crossing her legs.

The tree she was under was fairly big so she would not have to worry about being seen from the second floor's windows. And since the room across the tree is a (currently) empty club room, she might as well be called invincible.

She sips her juice as she closed her eyes in thought, 'I should probably join a club too... I heard there was one where they just slack off, what was that club called again? the telepurte club? no, that doesn't sound right... then was it the teleportation club? Hmm, telescope... telegraph..?'

[name] takes another bite, losing her train of thought as she melts at the taste of chocolate. I don't know if it's because I'm hungry or this cheap bar is just too good...

A breeze passes by, making her further relax. It was at times like these, that she could not help but appreciate the moment. She opens her eyes and stares at the swaying leaves from underneath, spotting a bird in its nest on one of the tree's branches. She watches as it hops around before pushing itself off the edge and flying away.

Her gaze trails after the big bird's form, until she heard tweets from the nest, three little heads popping up into view. A small smile crept its way onto her lips, charmed by the chicks.

To her, their chirps were delightful to hear, reminding her of her hometown. There was a tree similar to this one, only it was bigger. She often spent time there with her father when they were taking a break. [Name] smiled fondly at the memories.

She heard the tweets only for a short while, the birds have become quiet as they disappeared back into the nest. She figured they went to sleep, the thought making her a bit drowsy. She finishes her snack and drink, throwing her junk into the trash can beside the bench before making herself comfortable.

Initially, she planned to go right home after making the trip to the cafeteria, but she had forgotten the presence of the school guard at the gate. She could've lifted herself over the walls (that's barely a head taller), but she did not want to take the risk.

Besides, if anyone asks, she can just say that she got lost. It would not seem that far-fetched considering that she had only transferred a few weeks ago.

Since she had already skipped a class, she might as well skip the last one by taking a nap until school ends- which was not for until an hour later. Setting up her bag as a makeshift pillow, she laid down and stared at the swaying leaves above that almost looked hypnotizing.

The calming breeze soothes her as she starts to doze off.
She closes her eyes, ah, I remember the name of that club now...

...it was the television club.

---

The clock strikes three, followed by the familiar ring of the school bell. Students flooded the halls, some striking up and having conversations the second they walked out of their classrooms. Light chatter can be heard amongst the small crowd, some whispers, and gossip here and there. There's nothing worth note-taking.

But there is one student in the crowd that might catch your attention. Someone who easily blends in,  a face you would see on the sidelines, or even someone that you might pass by on your way home. But truth be told, despite being as dull as he seems, he is far more powerful than anyone could ever imagine.

That student is none other than Kageyama Shigeo, otherwise known as "Mob".

The bowl-cut lad stood in front of his locker, opening it to switch his indoor shoes for his casual ones. But when he heard a feminine voice, he came to a halt. He glances to his side to see his childhood friend and current crush, a popular girl that was widely admired, Tsubomi Takane.

His eyes gleamed in adoration as pink dusted his cheeks, Kageyama watched her converse with her friends as they head out the door. As someone who is probably the world's strongest human, you would expect him to be on some kind of adventure or planning world domination instead of gawking at the school's idol- yet here we are.

Well, he is a boy in highschool, after all.

Kageyama snaps out of it, arranging his shoes before closing his locker and heading out the door.

But as soon as he stepped out, a strong wind had suddenly blown his way, catching him off guard. He instinctively lifted his arm in front to shield himself. At that moment, panicked chirps reached his ears.

He lifts his head and frantically looks around to locate the cries. When his gaze settles on a tree, he saw nestlings flapping their wings in panic as the branch their nest rested on suddenly snaps in two.

Kageyama's breath hitched as he reached out his arm to save the nestlings with his telekinesis- only to be beaten by someone flying from out of nowhere. But as soon as the person had the nest in their hands, they lost their balance on top of the bench.

As [Name] braced herself for impact, closing her eyes shut, she held up the nest in an attempt the keep it safe. A silent tear escaped her eye as she grieves over her soon-to-be broken spine.

. . .

but the pain never came.

Instead, she landed on her rear end with a gentle thump. [Name] hesitantly peeked, fully opening her eyes when she realized she was on the ground unscathed. Though confused, she recovers her focus and quickly checked on the chicks.

They were unharmed and chirping loudly. [Name] sighs in relief, she was not sure she would make it. After all, she had only woken up as the branch started to crack and it took her a lot of effort to move her relaxed body and act quick. She lets out a sigh of relief and smiled warmly at the chicks, only for it to disappear as she feels someone's gaze on her,

Turning her head to the side, she came to see a timid-looking boy with his arm reaching out in her direction, a panicked look on his face. But after catching her gaze, he straightens up. [Name] blinks a few times before red tints her cheeks. She turns back to the birds before gently placing the nest on the ground, later hearing footsteps coming towards her.

When she looks over her shoulder, she sees the boy from earlier offer his hand. She stares at his hand for a moment, feeling embarrassed. But she accepted the help nevertheless. The boy pulled her up with all his might, though it did little as the girl carried most of her weight.

Once she was standing, she pats her long skirt to straighten it. She looks at the boy and notices a small bead of sweat run down his temple. Even though he was weak, he still helped me... how nice.

[Name] awkwardly clears her throat, "Thanks, I appreciate it."

The boy opened his mouth about to reply but nodded instead. A small smile rested on his lips, glad he was able to cushion her fall. But it was short-lived when he saw the girl look back and stare at the tree, pondering on what to do with the birds.

"Um..." Kageyama starts, but stays quiet when the girl sets down her clenched hand onto her palm in realization.

"Eh-?" The [Name] turned around and latched herself onto the tree. The black-haired boy watched as she climbed, quickly and naturally so.

In the blink of an eye, the girl has settled on a sturdy branch and looks down at him, gesturing towards the nest. Kageyama picks it up, smiling at the birds before handing it to the girl.

[Name] secured her legs around the branch before bending down to take the birds from the boy. She gently sets down the nest, fixing some twigs before leaning back to inspect her work. The nestlings have calmed down, now being at ease as they were moved to a safer branch.

Their happy tweets filled [Name] with pride and accomplishment.

She turned back and started making her way down, jumping at the last few feet. Once she reached the ground, she walks back to the bench and grabs her bag, slinging it over her shoulder.

Kageyama opens his mouth to say something, but stopped when the girl turned to him with a smile.

"Thanks."

With that, the girl walks away leaving the boy with his thoughts as a breeze passes by, the air feeling a bit chilly. Kageyama, who was rendered speechless, looks up at the sky,

it sure is windy today.
