Chapter 16: Start a War
"Antonio". Ophelia stared back at him, the ocean breeze whipping at her hair.
Antonio grinned wickedly, taking a few steps towards her while his hands rested behind him. "See, you've been enjoying your new life. With a new family". Antonio stated.
Ophelia refused to show fear and kept her head held up high. "What are you doing here, Antonio?" Ophelia asked, annoyance laced in her tone.
Antonio shrugged. "Bored. Wanted to see my old flame". He smirked.
Ophelia scoffed.
Antonio continued to take steps closer to her. Ophelia didn't move, watching him carefully. "I see you joined a new coven". Antonio shook his head. "It wasn't supposed to work like that". Antonio said calmly but his tone said otherwise. He finally stopped a few feet in front of her, staring down at her.
"I honestly didn't think you would make it as a vampire. After I turned you. I thought...you would either die from not finishing the transition or just be a useless vampire". Antonio chuckled. "But!" Antonio held his pointer finger up to the sky as he now circled Ophelia as if she was his prey.
In this moment she felt like his prey.
"Charles told me about you having a power. Don't quite know what it is. Something about a feeling or something. Whatever. Any power that I already don't have in my coven. I want it. I need it". Antonio looked at her with deadly eyes.
The two looked at one another. Ophelia shook her head. "I'm not leaving my coven for you".
Antonio tilted his head to the side, his same deadly look piercing in her eyes. "Who said you had an option, Ophelia?" Antonio said seriously. "I made you what you are. You drank my blood. You belong to me".
"I never belonged to you!" Ophelia shouted.
Antonio looked at her. A wicked grin slowly stretching on his face before he clapped slowly a few times. "Awwwww. You have changed. I like it". Antonio whispered in the end. "I'll have you. Even if that means I have to kill the other four". Antonio started to walk backwards slowly.
"Isn't that right, boys?" Antonio called out, louder. "I can make it easy. Or we can do it the hard way. Give me Ophelia and I leave your little town. Your little Boardwalk".
Ophelia didn't need to turn around. She felt each of her brothers' presence. Marko was the closest to her. His eyes shinning a gold color from how angry he was.
David was basically having a stare off with Antonio. Soon enough, Antonio let out a deep chuckle and clapped his hands together once.
"Alright!" He dragged the word out. "The hard way". He took a deep, satisfying breath. "I was hoping for that option".
Antonio's grin never left his face. "I'll meet you all at the Boardwalk after closing time on the full moon." His head tilted to the side slightly. "You know what they say when it's a full moon". Antonio let out a short laugh, his eyes widening and his arms spreed out on either side.
"The crazies come out"
And with that, Antonio took off into the night.
Ophelia stared to where Antonio used to be. This was war. And she feared that this was going to be their doom.
"So, that's Antonio?" Paul was the one to break the silence.
"Yeah, no shit". Marko gave Paul a look.
"He seems psychotic". Dwayne pointed out.
"No". Ophelia shook her head, turning to look at them. "Not psychotic. Hungry for power". Ophelia turned back and looked to where Antonio once stood. "I felt it".
