Where It Started
Tw : angst
As the bus rolled around, America stared into the distance. China noticed this odd behavior and tapped him on the shoulder.
The American jumped in surprise and almost fell. "Are you okay? You've been in a daze for quite a long time."
His face flushed red, "uhm yeah I'm fine.." He said as he rubbed his cheeks.
China cocked his head in suspicion but no longer questioned it.
On the bus, America sat down alone near the front but not long after Russia came and sat next to him.
America panicked, wanting to get out but he felt like that would be a bit rude so he reluctantly just sat there.
Wanting to divert his attention, he opened his phone and scrolled through social media, America didn't usually do that but he didn't have a choice right now.
After awhile America's face slowly but surely darkened with an odd expression. "America what's wrong?" Russia asked worriedly.
America sighed and shut off his phone, "it's nothing, just..." he trailed off.
Russia immediately understood, "don't pay mind to what they say."
"Yeah I know thank you though, I'm not sad about it anyways, I'm used to it." America smiled at Russia but then turned away to watch the clouds through the window.
Since America knew now that he liked Russia, he wanted to get closer but then again he was very afraid of losing one of the only friends he had.
'The old me would have no problem with this...'
Seeing America's expression of deep thought, Russia assumed he was still feeling sad about what he saw on social media.
He patted his head in reassurance, the American was caught off guard and blushed bright red for a second.
Of course he did not resist.
When the bus finally arrived they bid their farewells and left, Russia's gaze lingered on America for a few seconds longer before leaving as well.
Russia finally reached home but he couldn't shake off an odd feeling at the back of his heart. He paced around his apartment for awhile wondering what to do.
In the end he just sat down on his couch and scrolled through his phone. He found a few clips of the show circling around the media, a lot of which were just clips of America.
He was the talk of the town, from day one to day five they all found problems with him. The amount of hate comments could've flooded the entire city.
Russia furrowed his brows in discontent, feeling very annoyed. He powered off his phone, feeling as if he'd throw it out of his window if he scrolled through more posts.
America flashed through his mind, he suddenly got quite worried. He also felt longing, he wanted to be with him right now.
Russia got up and walked over to his car, he drove half an hour to get there. Their apartments were quite far apart.
When Russia got there he rushed up to America's apartment and rang the doorbell.
No answer
Then he noticed the door wasn't locked, an explosion of thoughts flooded through his mind. Russia rushed in Immediately.
He felt relieved when he saw America standing there just fine with his back faced towards the Russian.
"America sorry for intruding, I thought something happened since you didn't lock your door." The Russian immediately apologized.
Then America turned around with tears streaming down his face. Russia felt a jolt and rushed towards him.
"What happened?? Are you okay?" He placed both his hands on the shorter male's shoulders.
"No I'm not fucking okay."
Russia noticed the phone on the floor with a crack on it's screen. It was ringing nonstop.
America walked up and buried his head in the crook of the taller male's neck, sobbing uncontrollably.
"I hate being seen like this, especially in front of you." He muttered.
Russia hugged him in return, "what's wrong?" He asked gently.
"I absolutely hate you. I'm so annoyed." America said as he punched Russia on his shoulder once. Russia felt the pain but ignored it.
America angrily said as he cried, "out of everyone, I believed at least you would believe me." He punched his shoulder again in frustration.
America tried to hide behind a mask when he came back. He said he was used to the hateful words people said to him.
Which was true, he was indeed used to it. But he wasn't some emotionless plant, deep inside it still hurt a lot, all the emotions of hatred, frustration and much more. They were all bottled up until he couldn't take it anymore and everything spilled out all at once.
America's shoulders were shaky, "I thought you would be there for me, why did you have to say that? I really did believe..."
He punched his shoulder again, this time his hands trembled and Russia could feel it.
"I'm sorry." Russia apologized, his voice cracked a little as he said so. His hands gripped the shorter male tighter.
"Let me go." America spat out in a pissed tone. "I'm not letting go," he replied firmly without hesitation.
America trembled in anger and sadness, "You doubted me that time, what's with the change of behavior huh?"
Russia took a shaky breath, "I won't doubt you anymore, I'll be right here for you whenever you need me, you can scorn me or throw me away, I don't care but I'll be here for you."
He continued, "I'm sorry for doubting you, I know you'd never do something like that, you'd never assault or blackmail anyone, I believe in you."
America's voice became not louder than a whisper and he kept punching in attempts to calm down his frustration. "I... really really... hate you..." His mind was muddled and foggy and he couldn't think straight.
The entire time Russia stood there and reassured him, even with the throbbing pain on his left shoulder he stood there firmly with his head hung low and hands around the shorter male. Only quiet sobs could be heard now.
Russia sighed, tenderness pooled in his eyes as he spoke, "can we... take two? I promise I'll clear your name and I promise I'll be a better friend."
His voice sounded uneasy when he said 'friend' but America wasn't thinking properly right now anyways.
America quietly muttered, breaking the silence "Do you remember when we first met?"
...
A bright handsome youth sat there chatting to his friends. His identical bright blue eyes lit up the darkness in the room. Despite the flashing neon lights it was like he was the spotlight.
"America, look over there, I heard he's a new rising star actor, almost the same age as you and also very good!" China pointed at someone.
America grinned and shifted his gaze to where China was pointing. Another tall handsome youth stood there next to the bar, he didn't seem like doing anything, only watching the crowd.
The American's smile was brighter and genuine, he chuckled, "He seems like an interesting fellow, I'll go say hi." America stood up and walked over.
America stood next to him and the taller actor noticed. The American smiled, "can I buy you a drink?"
