Meeting the Family

The sun was setting, enveloping the city a beautiful violet glow. The American got out of the car wearing sunglasses and a mask to prevent being recognized, well it would be pretty useless soon. "I'll pick you up later okay?" The Russian peered his head out of the car window.

"Great! I won't take long don't get jealous okay?" The American chuckled as he bent over to look at his boyfriend face to face. The Russian held his face and planted a kiss on his forehead.

America beamed in glee, "see ya later!" He waved and almost ran away. America was quite excited because today was a reunion with his old classmates from school. Back when he was a child actor, he did both acting and school.

Britain and France, his parents, wanted him to have at least some form of friends instead of focusing his entire life in acting all alone.

It had already been a few days after America's name got cleared. The response was quite fast and direct, now everything was almost back to normal. Instead of fans avoiding him, now they're back to wanting photos and autographs of him.

He walked into the restaurant and found his old classmates on one long table. They were already merrily reminiscing. The American walked up to them, he surprised the person he was standing behind. She turned her head and complained, "jeez America don't scare me like that."

"Not my fault you get surprised easily Japan." America replied as he pulled his mask down and pushed his glasses up revealing a handsome face. The others at the table started murmuring loudly then a lot of them exclaimed greetings. "Hey America!! There's our favorite actor!"

The American plopped down on the seat next to Japan. "How's your new movie coming along?" He asked as he sipped his glass of water. "It's going along quite well actually, I heard South is going to compose the soundtrack for the movie. UN is also directly sponsoring the project."

"Listening to you two talk about your work makes me jealous and honored to have such famous actors as former classmates." A classmate sighed.

A lot of his classmates were trying to start conversations with the two of them since they were famous. I guess it is a bit unbelievable to have really well known classmates.

"America do you think we can take a picture together later? So I can boast about it to my other friends haha!" A female classmate laughed. America hummed, "sure let's do it now, I want to spend the rest of my time here actually having fun."

And so they took the picture and sat back down. When the two of them came back from the photo everyone was already playing drinking games. A classic for every reunion. "Come join in America, we're gonna make you spill some secrets." Japan gestured him over.

The other customers at the restaurant were already staring at their table and whispering. After all Japan and America were there.

"Damn they so lucky to have those two as former classmates." Another table commented, "don't you think they look better in person? Absolutely stunning." A waitress exclaimed to her co worker.

"Japan, between you two, who's the better actor? Take a shot of you prefer not to answer."

The American raised an eyebrow, Japan did as well in sync. "I don't know what do you think?" She jeered jokingly. "Well maybe both of you are just as good." A classmate commented.

They moved on to every classmate to ask them each a question. Most of it was about their lives now, what their jobs were, families, relationships, etc.

Then it was America's turn, "hmm we already know how your career is going... let's see, are you in a relationship or interested in anyone currently?"

America turned to Japan for help but even she pricked up her ears to listen in. America glared at her and gave her a 'you traitor' expression, she pretended not to notice.

Well America is grateful they didn't ask anything about the scandal, like how he felt about it or other similar questions. I guess his classmates did understand somewhat of how he felt about the situation which he was grateful about.

After a good while of pretending to be thinking hard he reached over for the cup with alcohol and took a shot. America really didn't want to lie to them but he made a promise so he couldn't say the truth either. Everyone was shocked and excited. They bombarded him with questions, "What?? Does she look good?" "Send us a picture! What awards has she won?" "When did you guys meet?"

Japan was a bit stunned for a second, her expression becoming a little complicated. America knew that she knew Russia liked him, so America could guess why her expression was so complicated. 'Sorry Japan, I'll tell you in a month.' He thought to himself guiltily.

At the end of their reunion America got a text from his boyfriend that he was already outside waiting for him.

The American's face beamed, he pardoned himself and left the restaurant. When he saw a familiar car and a familiar face he almost rushed over.

Inside the car Russia requested, "can I take you somewhere?"

"Hm? Oh sure, have you eaten yet? I bought something for you at the restaurant earlier." America handed over the bagged food.

The Russian's eyes softened, "thanks I'll eat it when we get back." They drove somewhere, America didn't know where but he waited patiently.

They pulled over in front of a fairly large brick building. "Isn't this... the orphanage?" America got out along with Russia.

"Mhm, I'm taking you to meet my family, they don't know you're coming."

"Ah! I didn't prepare anything to give them though." The shorter male pouted and fiddled his fingers. "Don't worry, they won't expect anything."

Everyone inside was happily chatting together, that's when they hear a knock on the door and the door opening. "Hey Russia! Everyone is already here come in."

"Hey lover boy, congrats on your crush getting his name cleared." Belarus offhandedly commented. The others chuckled along jokingly.

"Actually I brought someone with me for today."

His family could tell he was a little nervous since they grew up with him, they're one of the few people abled to detect Russia's emotions. He moved away a little from the door, then someone popped out, "hello there I hope you don't mind me joining in!" The American said cheerily with all smiles. America was especially cheery after hearing what Belarus said.

Estonia, who was drinking a bottle of Vana Tallinn beer, choked on her drink and almost dropped her bottle on Kazakhstan. Georgia for some reason slapped her hand onto Belarus's mouth as if by doing this, America would forget about what Belarus said. "Oh hello um America, remember me? It's Ukraine, yes uh ignore what my brother Belarus said, he's pretty uhh...drunk..." Ukraine struggled to come up with an excuse.

Everyone else was shocked silent because they thought they had just accidentally exposed Russia right there. "Haha don't worry bout it, we're already dating so it doesn't matter if I know." America chuckled, finding this scene funny.

"Oh well then that's a relie- wait what did you say??" Ukraine sighed in relief only to be shocked once again. Now it was the family's turn to bombard them with questions.

But what they felt the most was relief, 'ah thank god all of what he did wasn't wasted.' Because out of everyone in this world, it was his family that knew how determined Russia was.

They all wanted a chance to chat with America, so while America had his hands busy with talking to all of Russia's siblings, Russia sat at the dining table just watching from afar while drinking something.

Latvia elbowed America to ask him something, "don't you think he's a bit creepy though? seems like a stalker if you ask me." He slandered his brother while Russia was literally right there listening.

"Well..." America didn't continue. Belarus exclaimed, "see! I told you, even back when he was a kid we told him he was being creepy but what could we do?"

America laughed awkwardly, as they continued to chat. Georgia stared a conversation with Russia, "how lucky you are, congratulations."

"Thanks."

"He's a nice young man, I can see why you fell in love back then."

Russia's face turned a little red out of shame, Georgia chuckled when she saw this and didn't say anything else.

When the two of them finally left and got back in the car Russia asked America, "what do you think..?"

"I think they're such nice siblings! You're really lucky to have such a nice family hahaha."

The Russian smiled but didn't reply as they drove off back to his apartment.
