we all stood in a room on the boat, while the boat was moving, duh.

"it's been an honor flying with you" maverick said, looking at all of us "each one of you represents the best of the best, this is a very specific mission, my choices are a reflection of that and nothing else"

"phoenix and bob" maverick paused, taking a glance at me "scout and coyote"

my face lit up and i bumped coyotes shoulder with my own. i then looked behind me at jake and he was already looking at me with a smile

"choose your wingman"

maverick looked between jake and bradley before saying "rooster"

i looked behind me and looked at jake with soft eyes, i gripped his hand and whispered "i'm sorry"

he looked at me and smiled with a shrug

"the rest of you will stand by in the carrier for any reserve role that's required" the admiral said "dismissed"

phoenix and i walked towards the girls locker room together to go get changed for the mission

i was getting my plane all ready to go when jake made his way up to me

"hey babe" i smiled at him, holding my helmet in my hands

"come back to me" he put his hands on my cheeks "please promise you'll come back to me"

i looked at him with teary eyes before nodding "i'm gonna try, i promise"

he leaned down and kissed me.

after he left i put my helmet on and sat in the jet. i felt coyote get in from behind me so i moved my hand behind the seat and he fist bumped it

"we got this" we both said at the same time

"dagger 1 up and ready" maverick said on the coms

"dagger spare up and ready" i heard jake say into the helmet

"dagger 4 up and ready" i tell them, coyote and i

"dagger 3 up and ready" phoenix and bob

"dagger 2 up and ready"rooster said

maverick flew up in the sky first, then rooster, next was phoenix and bob, then coyote and i

we flew a bit of way "Comanche. dagger 1 stand by check in" maverick said

"comanche 1 set, picture clear, recommended dagger continue"

maverick nodded "copy that, daggers descending below radar"

i followed the rest of the groups, flying under the radar

we kept getting closer and closer "enemy territory up ahead, comanche picture" mav said

"comanche, picture clean. decision is yours"

"dagger attack" once maverick said that,

i let out a shaky breath, looking up above me, seeing the missiles fly by

"daggers assume attack formation" we all heard maverick say

i stayed in my same spot and rooster switch places with phoenix and bob

"approaching target, 2 minutes and 30 seconds in three, two, one mark" mav said first

"four mark" i said, pressing the button and followed the rest of the group, basically zigzagging through yhe mountains

maverick lead the group throughout the course "first sams site up ahead"

i looked up and got a gold lock at the sams myself

"looks like we're clear on radars mav" phoenix stated

maverick replied to her "let's not take it for granted"

i spotted more of the sams above our heads "guys, more sams up ahead" i spoke

"we're two minutes to target" bob informed all of us

"copy, we're two seconds behind rooster, we gotta move" hearing what coyote said , i looked at the clock, he's right

"cmon rooster, a little faster" i said calmly

"dagger comanche, we're picking up two bandits"

"comanche, where are the heading?" i asked

comanche read where they are going "they're headed away from us , they don't know we're here" rooster said

"as soon as those missiles hit the enemy base those bandits are going to move to protect the target.we have to move before they do, increase speed" maverick demanded

maverick, phoenix ,and bon all increased their speed but coyote and i were stuck behind rooster

"bandits are switching course to defend the target"

i'm guessing the missiles hit the enemy's base.

"rooster where are you?" maverick questioned

"rooster we gotta go" i hurried him

"cmon rooster, the bandits out inbound. we have to move" coyote said hurriedly

"don't think jut do" i heard mav

"talk to me dad" rooster whispered

"not that fast rooster!" coyote said and i increased my speed, following rooster

i smirked and said "nice one roost"

"that's a hit!" bob said

"dagger 2 status" maverick yelled out

"almost there mav! almost there, coyote where's my laser?" rooster asked him

"rooster, scout there's something wrong with this laser" coyote started "deadeye! deadeye!"

i looked at the the button for the lazier drop, and i'm just so tempted to press the button

"there's no time, i'm dropping bombs" rooster said
