Kiss and Make Up

As soon as Lilith shut the door behind them, she saw Jin's hands brace against it on either side of her against the door. She turned. There he stood, bearing down over her with serious and meaningful eyes, all his usual playfulness gone.

"You lied to me," he said in a dangerous voice.

The sound of it made Lilith's heart want to leap out of her chest.

"I did," she answered, her own voice uncharacteristically small.

One of Jin's hands went from bracing the door to cupping against her jaw, against her neck. His thumb brushed at flecks of dirt and blood that speckled the face of that tiny warrior woman whom he loved.

"I might have to punish you for that." A lustful smile. Darkening eyes.

Lilith sighed and smacked Jin on the chest.

"OW. HEY."

"At least let me take a bath first. Goodness gracious, I'm disgusting. And you're incorrigible." As Lilith smacked playfully at Jin's chest a few more times, instead of backing away from her, Jin leaned down and scooped her up in his arms.

She stopped hitting him.

"Well c'mon then, yah little tease."

Lilith gave a playful wink. Jin frowned. Then Lilith kissed Jin on the cheek as he carried her through the suite and into the bathroom, and his face looked a little less frown-y.

When Jin set her down, Lilith sat down on the edge of the bathtub and started to reach down to unlace her strappy black combat boots. But Jin crouched down at her feet and without words, his hands got in the way and he started to undo the laces himself.

After a minute, he said, "Damn. Does it take you this long to put these on every time?"

"More or less."

One shoe. Then another.

Once both boots had clunked onto the solid floor, Jin continued to look up at Lilith from where he crouched on the floor.

"You could help me with my utility belt, too. The buckle is in the back."

Lilith stood up.

Jin did as well.

Lilith turned around. Jin's fingers gripped around the hard square buckle. There was a CLICK and the belt was released. Jin was much more careful about taking this and setting it down on the vanity. When he turned around, Lilith approached him, pulled him roughly by the collar of his shirt, and then pushed him down into a chair next to the bath.

"W-what are you doing?" Jin asked, his face flushing.

"Well, you called me a tease." Lilith smirked as her fingers started to unravel the straps around her left bracer. Slowly. "And now you're gonna eat your words."

Jin pulled at the front of his collar to loosen the top button as he swallowed. He said in a trying-to-be-forcefull voice, "I'm supposed to be the one punishing you, here. Because you lied to me and--"

Lilith reached out a hand and tucked her fingers delicately beneath Jin's chin, tilting his face upwards towards hers. "I am sorry, Jin. But I know you're shit at lying. And we couldn't risk Joon figuring it out." Lilith leaned down and planted a firm, careful kiss on Jin's lips.

His chin still in her fingers, Jin grumbled, "I am not."

She chuckled, planting a quick kiss on his cheek before her fingers slipped from his skin. Then Lilith walked over to turn on the water for her bath. She smirked up at Jin as she leaned over the bath to check the temperature.

"If you're such a good liar, prove it then."

"How?"

Lilith started to pull down the strap arched over her left shoulder, leaving her clavicle fully exposed. "If you can say convincingly that you don't want to take a bath with me, then I'll say you're a good liar."

Jin scowled, only making Lilith laugh.

"It's not funny," he growled.

This only made Lilith laugh harder.

Jin was out of his chair and across the room in two quick strides. "Lil. Do you even understand why I'm upset?" His lips were inches from her cheek. His hands cupped around her arms but didn't quite touch her skin.

"Because we never keep secrets from those we love. And I love you, Jin and--"

Jin's arms gripped Lilith's shoulders firmly, his lips found hers, and a few moments of breathlessness, of drunken lips on drunken skin overtook them.

Then Jin pulled back, as Lilith leaned forward hoping for more.

"I'm upset that you didn't tell me about Joon. And what he did... to hurt you." A crack of pain entered Jin's voice.

Lilith's lip trembled slightly.

"I called him my friend. I defended him to you again and again. And you were hurting so much because of him."

Jin braced his clean forehead against Lilith's grimy, blood and dirt stained one. His breathes were strong and tight, like the grip of his hands on her arms. The lightness was gone from Jin's eyes; they simply burned.

"Do you understand why I am angry? Do you?"

His anger came through in the way his hands couldn't seem to leave Lilith's skin anymore. His fingers started to peel back the straps over her shoulders.

Despite the grime of the day speckling her, when Lilith leaned into Jin he didn't shy away. She plucked open the front folds of his shirt and kissed the skin just underneath. Then Lilith perked onto her tiptoes and her parted lips quickly, fully met Jin's--offering him a sampling of them being intertwined.

After one last taste, one final gasp, Lilith whispered into his lips, "Let me show you how very sorry I am."

After a good long shower on both their parts, Jungkook and Tae lay sprawled across the same massive bed and they both stared up at the ceiling.

Kookie tucked his hands behind his head.

Tae twiddled his thumbs together.

Taehyung was afraid to talk about the dream, but it was also all he could seem to think about now that everything had settled around them for now. "What do you think the voices meant, about being blessed beyond measure? Going in perfect peace? All that?"

"Tae Tae, I know what happened with Petra...was a bit scarring for you. I can see why. Perhaps they could see into you and see that too, and somehow they wanted you to be alright? It's pretty nice of them, I think."

"Yeah. But you know something? They really called you, didn't they. Loyal. That's you."

"I guess so."

"I saw the way you looked at her, Kookie." Tae rolled onto his side and propped his head into one hand, looking at Jungkook. "Everyone saw what you did. Your voice was even a little bit scary, if I'm being honest."

"You mean when I shouted at Joon?"

Tae nodded.

Jungkook sighed. "I just... I know the voices are gone now. It wasn't anything like that. No one was screaming in my head to tell me to do it. But I could still feel something, something else."

"Like what?"

"It's gonna sound stupid."

Tae gave a feathery laugh. "Not possible. Remember who you're talking to."

"HA. Right." Jungkook adjusted his arms so that one was behind his head and the other lay across his stomach. "Well, it's almost like it felt right. Like, you know how we all kinda have this intuition about what we should or shouldn't do in certain situations. Like when you think, oh, I really wanna eat this cheeseburger, but then I also probably shouldn't eat three in a row. Your gut just tells you not to do things sometimes, right?"

Tae gave an airy chuckle. "Yeah, sure."

"It was like that. But ten times as strong. This feeling that there's just...something seriously wrong with Joon. I don't know how I never saw it before, but I see it now and it kinda scares me, man."

"You're kinda scaring me, man." Tae said. Then Taehyung flopped one of their pillows over and smacked it into Jungkook's face.

"Hey!"

Just as Jungkook sat up and raised a pillow over his head in retaliation, there was a knock on the door. The boys both sat up, though Jungkook still had pillow half-braced for a throw.

The door opened.

Chimin's unassuming, softened face peered into the room. "Uh, I was just coming to check on you guys and...."

Before he could get his words out, Jungkook had hurled his pillow straight at Chimin's face. Peels of laughter burst from Tae and Kookie at the sight of Chim's moment of shock.

But the shock didn't last long. Chim's eyes narrowed as he plucked the pillow up from the floor.

There was a moment of understanding that passed silently between Jungkook and Chimin as they glared playfully at one another. As if all was not forgotten... but it was still well. In as much as it could be in that moment.

Enough to have a laugh.

Tae leapt from the bed and braced a pillow in front of him like a shield, a starlight grin spread across his cheeks.

Jungkook pulled two more pillows from the bed and started swinging them around, one in each hand as he cackled with glee.

The pillow fight was about to be in full swing.

Yoongi leaned into the cockpit chair inside the control room, his clean body now suited up in dark green silk pajamas and his body wrapped in a fuzzy black robe that matched his scattered wet hair. In his hand he held a stout glass of dark amber liquid that danced around a circular ball of ice. He brought the glass to his lips to take a sip. His feet kicked around a stood and brought it to rest firmly in front of him, so that he could prop his feet up easily there. He folded one over the other and took another sip of his drink.

"Someone looks rather pleased with themselves."

Yoongi shifted in his seat.

"Please. Don't get up on my account."

Ava walked over and sat in one of the other central chairs, just to the left of Yoongi's.

Yoongi didn't mean to stare, but he couldn't help it. His eyes took in the sight of Ava in someone else's purple silk pajamas--a few sizes too big, but he liked how it glossed loosely around the shape of her as she shifted in her chair. He also liked how she'd pulled her wet hair into a braid along the side of her shoulder. How some of the reddish hairs were flitting out around her ears and curling into her cheeks.

He asked, "Couldn't sleep?"

Ava sighed. "Shae wasn't in our room when I got out of the shower. I knocked on Joon's door but no answer. So no."

Yoongi set his glass down on the floor next to him. Then he proceeded to pull a shiny black box open that was resting next to his chair. From out of it he pulled a glass to match his own. He plopped inside of it a circular ball of ice. And then he proceeded to unscrew the top of a bottle of amber liquid and pour it all singlehandedly into the glass.

One hand still holding the open bottle, he stretched the glass in Ava's direction. She took it. Then Yoongi started to screw the cap back onto his alcohol and tuck all of his goods back inside of the shiny black box.

"What are you, some kind of magician-slash-bartender?"

"Eh, you never know when you're up and gone around here. I like keeping my wares organized and easy to carry. If this place were to start goin' up in flames, there are two things I'd grab."

"What's that?" Ava leaned into her chair just a little more and enjoyed sipping the amber liquid of her drink. It was biting, but smooth. Kinda like Yoongi.

"That'd be... Hobi. And my booze box."

"Is that what you call it?" Ava laughed.

Yoongi shrugged, not so amused. "S'what it is."

"Whatever you say."

"Hey." Yoongi shifted in his seat so that he was leaning over his left armrest, closer towards Ava. His small dark eyes were striking against his pale skin. "I'm sorry about earlier. The...." His fingers brushed over his lips a moment as he looked at her. "I mean, I'm sorry. But I'm also not." He gave a self-satisfied smirk.

"Min Yoongi, folks. Gentleman. Playboy. Bartender."

"Aye, c'mon, it was for a good cause."

"What was, kissing me like that?" Ava lifted her glass to her lips, here eyes wide and pointed, waiting.

"Yeah. Doesn't mean I didn't like it." He leaned casually back into his chair and lifted his own glass to his lips.

"Doesn't mean I didn't, either," Ava grumbled grumpily into her glass. Yoongi didn't turn towards her, but he was smiling just slightly.

After a minute of comfortable silence between them, Yoongi asked, "You want some help looking for your friend, Ava?"

Something in her liked the fact that he'd just used her name. And that he'd said it with a strange mess of his raspy gruffness mixed with underlying kindness.

"Nah. I mean, am I worried? Yes. But can I really stop a grown ass woman from making her own dumb ass mistakes? Sadly no. So I'll be here when the damn breaks." She lifted her glass to her lips and took a particularly large swig of drink. "Because I love Shae even when I think she's wrong."

Yoongi liked that. He liked the way she said it. Heck, he even liked the slight tinge of clear lipgloss that was coating her lips while she said it. Dammit, man, pull yourself together. He answered, "Good luck with that. Because that damn sure as hell is gonna break. But in the meantime...." Yoongi leaned forward and set his glass onto the floor next to his feet. He clasped his pale, veiny hands carefully together as he slumped forward into his knees. Then he turned his head and asked in gruff seriousness, "You wanna make out?"

Ava almost choked on the drink she was swallowing. It went down in a loud gulp. "Excuse me?"

"I mean, you're stressed, I'm stressed, everybody on this damn ship might die tomorrow for all I know. So I just thought...."

"Oh please, don't give me those hero platitudes. I might die tomorrow. You're gonna make me throw this drink in your face, and that'd be a shame. It's a kick ass drink."

Yoongi spread his arms into folded V's on each side and shrugged, his face a half-frown and half-smirk. "Just thought I'd ask."

"I thought you weren't the type to be polite about it," Ava said, her voice both mocking and accusatory at the same time.

"No. But you're kinda my subordinate now that you're officially in our rebel crew, so it'd feel weird if I didn't ask from now on."

Ava replayed in her brain the fact that he'd just said from now on. She downed the last of her drink.

"Want some more?"

"Hell yes. Please."
